I love how there's kind of a trend that if Mike and Sam are together and Sam fails a QTE, Mike will save her. These two end up being a sort of power couple because they both really step up besides being one of the only people in the game without a romantic history together.

If you look at Sam’s character stats with Josh, you’d see that she is neutral with him like all the characters. When a character has a crush, their meter is usually higher for that person (like Chris with Ashley)

I get that Mike and Sam can't die until the end (if they could die at any time then the game would end too quickly) but sometimes it feels like Mike and Sam are the only competent members of this team of 7 idiots
Emily is actually really competent if you have her survive. Jess is probably the least competent since doesnt have as much to do. I can overlook competence since their college students and it wouldn’t be realistic for them to be trained soldiers, but some of their personalities are awful. What does Matt even see in Emily.
@@TheHasmith99 If we're talking feats within the game, Chris is definitely in third place, with Mike's teleportation and invinicibility in first place, Sam's spider-man jumps while climbing walls in second place. But Chris DOES notice a gas tank from the Stranger's body in the same millisecond that the Wendigo is jumping at him and can aim properly to save himself with it... so idk if that beats the teleportations

Mike needs Sam who can calm him down quickly when he get so frustrated and upsetthat he yells, gets Mike's plan without having to say a word, and sees him as he truly is, not as a dream guy that doesn't have insecurities. Also Sam hates the silent treatment and Mike is terrified of being alone & when they are together they are both more confident, so sincere, a lot more patient, and help each other become better people.

Quite a lot of video was Sam wandering around before she finds Mike at the door. Almost like it was dragged on long enough that it could be over 10 minutes, but just far enough after 10 minutes that you could pretend that wasn't why it dragged on so long.
Why did Mike use his sawed off shotgun to keep the door closed? That's the only weapon at hand they can use to fight off the Wendigos, they should've used the metal bar or the shovel Sam gets.

That's pretty disapointing that Sam still finds Mike at the exit of the sanatorium even if he got caught in the middle of it by the wendigo, Sam's QTE are pointless too
The "Plot armor" is not an excuse to make the game worse, it makes the whole Mike scene pointless, you can let him get caught right at the beggining it won't make any difference, unless you escape completly from it, then you get a slightly different result

You know the game has a heavy bias towards Mike when he still gets a chance to be saved even when being pounced by a wendigo while the others would have their heads mutilated already. Either that or the prisoner wendigos are weak af compared to Hannah.

When I played near the beginning when mike and jess are having a snowball fight an icicle is falling from a tree whilst they are about to make out and I'm wondering what would happen if u don't dodge it
Yeah they won’t get hurt. If Jess presses the triangle or square, then she’ll move them, but if you don’t do anything or miss it, Mike will pull you two out of the way.
I love Until Dawn, but when you learn about Mike and Sam's ridiculous plot armour compared to the other 6 characters, it very much lowers the stakes on subsequent playthroughs as you know you can fail everything and still not die. Such a perfect game, once! Wish I could wipe my memory to enjoy it again!

@@caneofsomariaI think the devs deliberately made Mike and Sam only vulnerable at the very end because they're the only ones who figured out how to blow up the wendigos by using the gas pipe There should have been an ending where the lodge wasn't blown up and the survivors were only saved by sunlight in the last minute

There are still stakes though - if you fail QTEs as Mike, then Jess and the dog can die :( If you fail as Sam and get caught by Josh you can miss out on collectibles etc Still think about this game each Halloween - such a masterpiece
Yeah to be fair the developers really killed the whole butterfly effect thing with this chapter and they kept mike alive through out this chapter just for him to break a lightbulb... and I would forgive all of that if they didn't kill the dog if YOU the player fail the qte's wich is just stupid and again just for him to break a lightbulb yeah I really wish they did more with the minor wendigo's in this chapter real miss opertunaty for some real cool death scenes with the minor wendigo's especially since there way smaller in size so they really need to tussle with their prey to actually kill them still pretty fun chapter actually my favorite next to the Ashley and josh/psycho chapter andddd now I'm just realizing that most of the chapter's that are my personal favorites are the one's that you don't need to do much on as it doesn't really effect the player at all really damn I have some bad tast

The plot armor is necessary because at the end of the day, these actors and game devs are human and you can’t overwork them.
