#Diablo2Resurrected #Blizzard #ActivisionBlizzard
So basically activision ruins everything it touches
"KING MINUS TOUCH"!
As has been said for a while now.... They're a cancer on the industry.
Well said.
This isn't just an Activision issue and you're naive if you think it wasn't a thing before Activision.
@@Dark__Thoughts He's talking about reforged here I'm pretty sure. There was 2 AB related sections to the video and given this one is about ruining everything and not everyone I'm assuming it's about a game which can be accurately considered an object.
I truly believe that blizzard merging with Activision was one of the worst decisions they could have made. The absolute greed and degeneracy of Activision have ruined many blizzard titles that could have been masterpieces.
Why has Blizzard nothing to say, why cant the say Activision, shut up. why do Activision, rule over Blizzard, in the first place? I'm just wondering.
@@Kribling Activision owns blizzard so basically what Activision says go's
@@Deanygod But was it not a Cooperation, 50/50 to start with, or did Blizzard, just 100% give in to Activision?
@@Kribling because it wasn't a unification in the first place. Activion just bought Blizzard. They only named themself AB because of the high positive reputation of the name "Blizzard".
@@NavidErde wow I never knew this, I always thought it was Cooperation.. now I know, thanks for the info :)
At first Rhykker, I was like, dude you seem down today. Then, a few mins in... I get it. Thank you for sifting through the hard stuff to deliver the good stuff. Your work is very appreciated.
He just caught his girlfriend cheating on him with a pint of ice cream.
@@jonnycatland1987 ice cream… ☺️
Well, when your development team is drunkenly crawling from cubicle to cubicle, sexually harassing the female employees, or spending most of their day playing Call of Duty, it can make it difficult to put out quality products at Blizzard.
@@Quickcat21MK oh, sweet Summer Child...
@@Quickcat21MK It's the truth
@@Quickcat21MK I mean, if the allegations are true they deserve it. What kind of fucked up comment is this that you disagree with the OP?
As a female gamer, I just wanted to thank you hugely for both acknowledging the Blizzard news and addressing gamers as a whole. You treated the subject with compassion and care and I am very grateful. Thank you.
@@Quickcat21MK ??? Who said anything about that?
As a male im pretty disgusted with blizzard now
I am shocked that what was my dread company back then doesn’t treat all employees equally. Female devs are already a rare thing. It’s a shame they get bullied by some people.
@@TheMissingPluto I'm guessing he's one of those players bothered by the fact that the D2R models aren't as gratuitous as they used to be, so everything has to be about that and how feminism is disenfranchising what he likes about games. Because the California lawsuit is about actual misogynist practices at the company, the connection between the issues has to be the first thing - often the only thing - people like him have to say about the matter; it's all about what he wants, is not getting, and perhaps feels that disregarding things like women getting fired for taking maternity leave is ok it if it helps conserve cleavage in game characters.
@@OwlMoovement Nailed it. Bravo, friend.
As a woman in the industry, and a fan of your content, Thank you for Speaking up Rhykker. Thank you for your respect and candor and just, thanks.
@Kayli W. Wait what? I'm confused which part of that was degrading? All he said was he's not sufficiently equipped to speak on such an intricate matter, though stressing this is a government agency with 2 years of research behind the belt that believes suing is the apropriate course of action based on what they've found. Then he said that either way we should be decent human beings to the women in our community. Both points that seem very respectful and the latter just being common sense you'd think, but then if they came up with that at blizzard before we wouldn't have this conversation now so it needed to be said.
"Speak up when you see injustice"
I spoke up against injustice twice. Twice it cost me my job
I'm sorry to hear that :( thank you for doing the right thing. We need more people with your courage
Unfortunately that is how the real world is. All companies spout this bs about u being protected and it being anonymous but I also have a friend that has whistle blown and immediately lost his job because of it. It's all enough to make u sick
It's stories like yours that remind me that HR is really there to protect the company, not the employees. Hope you're in a better place now.
@@FeartheKlown Exactly. I've come to realise something, and everytime I can I give this advice to people: HR is not there to protect you, it's there to protect the company from you. HR has no idea how your job is supposed to be done. Your coworkers are not your friends. Your boss' decisions are not made to benefit the company, they are made to benefit his bonus at the end of the year.
@@Rhykker Thanks Rhykker. I really appreciate the fact you took time to reply to me. For years I've been looking forward to your videos, even if I hardly play the games anymore, you always have 5 star content. Cheers
Its going from bad to worst year after year at blizzard
Yea and now with all the alligation I feel sick to my stomach to support this company. It is one thing to make mistakes, but with all the stuff coming out I lost all hope in the humanity of the people working on the games.
So are we still giving them money for D2:R and D4 and...(I won't even mention D3:Immoral)...? I'm more than happy NOT to contribute to giving Kotick even more millions, after news like this. And I'm an old-school, traditional, middle-aged cis white male!
i will never buy blizzard activision games any more.
@@Nostromo2144 I won't.
@@Nostromo2144 I still have my D2 cds, I can live without the new games
Thank you for your sensitive response to a challenging issue and your support of the victims. I watch your channel for Diablo news, but your response makes me feel better about giving you my time. Keep up the great work!
I appreciate how you stated your personal discomfort in talking about the allegations of Activision and Blizzard while also paying respect to the gravity of the atrocity apparent in the case.
In other words “Fuck Blizzard Activision”. Moving on.
Yeah, but it's still the bulk of his content. I'm gone.
@@mackenziedrake wtf? It's not even 3min of the video. What world do you live on?
@@thesaim1036 I would think the godawful dehumanization of people would warrant more than "fuck Activision/Blizzard" and "move on". Like, should he not report the news about a gaming company that he ALWAYS reports the news on???
Blizzard should just drop the facade and rename it Activision West. As someone looking forward to D4, it saddens me to say it.
Good on you for not ignoring the harassment scandal, it is something people need to be aware when they decide to support Activision-Blizzard.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind the same team who did D2 remaster to REDO Warcraft III again!
No move on let diablo 4 finish first
@@heyspy1205 Won't really matter. Those are two totally different teams.
Amen to that!!!
Wish that could be the case.
Here I am 10 years later waiting for 343i to realise Saber fucked up Halo: Anniversary & to go back with the same care they gave Halo 2.
But W3R is such a disaster for the game's legacy surely Blizzard realises the game will have no future if left in its current state?
@@meganesenpai It is NOT. Vicariuos Visions was bought off by Activision Blizzard, and Activison Blizzard can choose whenever it wants to split teams or prioritize individual members to different projects. A estimate from myself on why Diablo 2 Resurrected is looking so good, is because Vicarious Vision worked on it prior to the buyoff, and now just finish the project they started as in not to touch the progress of the game.
Honestly...
I really REALLY want Diablo 2 Resurrected, but at this point I would feel really disgusted handing over any money to activition blizzard. The very likely discrimination and harassment of women, the disdain they have showed for fans on occasion and the debacle of Warcraft 3 Reforged makes me think that a permanent boycot of Activition Blizzard might be the only road going forward.
I blame j Allen brack, Activision thought we wanted him, but we didn't
He didn't he just happened to be at the top of the list after Mike Morhaime decided shit hit the fan and wanted to bail and build a good company again.
@@omgabaddon a company full of harrasment? he was in charge when this shit happen, the harras isnt just about this past 2 or 3 years.... no wonder blizzard did that "girls who code" and that garbage pr.....

Bruh, these issues were decade(s) long and started while Mike Morhaime was still there. It's unfortunately not just Brack's fault.
I blame fusion with Activion @ Cata I liderlly said its beginning of the end , ofc no did listen to , no one never does.
That was funny but really he’s just a puppet.
To be fair, women aren't treated like garbage everywhere. I grew up in a rural area in the western US, and I hadn't ever witnessed misogyny until I grew up and moved outside of my home state. CA (especially the entertainment industry) just seems to be a hotspot for egotistical businessmen who think they can get away with whatever they want. But in small towns and such, women are generally revered and treated far better than men. The men are expected to do all of the manual labor, provide an excellent life for their families, and protect women (even women they don't know) when needed.
Yeah but the whole "women should be barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen" mentality is also sexist.
@@TheMissingPluto yes, but again, I didn't see anything like that until I moved.
I blacklisted Blizzard back at the Blitzchung incident.
The sexual harrasment cases is not a surprise in the least. It's an infuriatingly common problem.
If the women reported the harrassment in 2013, gamergate and 4chan would have doxxed them and sent them death threats.
Glad that gaming culture is taking a step in the right direction and treating women right
@Kayli W. the news were flooded. They posted the women's addresses all over 4chan, reddit and facebook and I saw photoshops of them and their families with black eyes, bruised, set on fire and incest porn.
Brutal stuff. Im not surprised that gamers behave like that, but Im glad more gamers are now speaking against it.
@Kayli W. the photos literally had hashtag gamergate on it
You made me glad that I subscribe to your channel with the lawsuit segment. Very well said and thoroughly considered. I’m also struggling with the impacts of boycotts on the very people who were most affected while still being respectful of others’ choice to never buy from Activison or Blizzard again.
Just thought I’d say something.
After the massive layoffs that have happened while profits have increased you should know that your dollar has nothing to do to positively impact jobs.
Also they should get bankrupt for the management/ceo's future. They proactively ignored the issues and didn't do anything. Why would you want them to still A) earn money B) hire new folks so that they can be molested and traumatized and C) not have a huge stain on their CV where it says big and red "worked as a XYZ in Blizzard" and let other companies think thrice before hiring that person and integrating its unethical disgustinig ignorance in their own company.
@@alext5497 I mean, even male employees have spoken out about this very issue. So yes, it's pretty believable when straight males are also standing with their female coworker's allegations.
The J stands for joke. Dude has no clue how to be an effective leader and inspire those around him. His internal e-mail was so pandering it's painful. Doesn't apologize, doesn't say he'll improve the environment, just angry that the "govamen and trolls" are gunning for him. Time to step down JAB.
Agreed, I was horrified when I read the response.
The way Path of Exile Chris responds to the player base being so disparate from the way Acti-Blizzard leaders respond to their player base really just shows how far Blizzard has gone from their roots. "We're gamers first and businesspeople second." That quote is amazing.
I think you said exactly what needed to be said, and you stated it so eloquently. We must be better as a society. Thank you for not avoiding this topic this week.
We truly live in a society.
It all went downhill for Blizzard when they merged with Activision. It was their biggest mistake they have ever done. The company is nothing what they used to be.
Is there any possibility for Blizzard to leave Activision???
Old Blizzard wouldn't have done that to Reforged, it's a damn shame what has happened. I grew up on Warcraft I/II/III, Starcraft and Diablo II; the company that made those would have given their all to make Reforged as best as it could be.
The way you handled the Activision Blizzard pieces was well, well done. Sensitive. Thoughtful. Thank you.
Yeah i was just thinking that. Before this clip i was watching YongYea and he covered it very poorly i could feel his judgmental attitude in his every word, it felt wrong, i felt being lured in into a "hate mob wagon". As someone who was in court regarding a sensitive matter i can say that the judgment should be left to the judge and the system built to handle those situations. I do not want an inciting report i want a objective, informative one.
I wanna like Yong's content but he's just an outrage peddler at this point.
There's a LOT to be angry about in the harassment of women (and other minority groups) in gaming. Like a lot. And it requires urgent change. But outrage flames out. Real change is rage turned to a purpose.
Everything went wrong with blizzard
I really don't have any interest after all what Blizzard has become. Not even a single game could cheer up. If they jank WoW, I don't have high hopes on D4 anymore "/
They talked about microtransactions right after reveal, even before they talked about gameplay ideas. Soooo I don't know where your hopes came from, maybe you still life in the past? Please wake up, the wc3, d2, sc1, lost vikings Blizzard doesn't exist anymore.
Agreed D4 Not gona touch it there’s POE 2 coming out looking forward to it
Diablo team is the only chance for blizzard moving forward to have success. Activision is destroying the blizzard platform. It's truly a shame to see one of the best and most creative game company's fall from grace like this. Such a far cry from what the company stood for and how they developed some of the greatest games of all time.
Hey Rhykker, it's Folks. Keep up the Good Work!
Think WC3 reforged is the least problem Blizzard has.
WC3 Reforged is not the problem, it's a symptom of the problems.
Activision you runinned a wonderful company and a wonderful team of professionals in gaming industry. Activision should be terminated and their CEO needs to go jail. You guys have done way to much damage to all the community already.
That part about the lawsuit was done really well and stated perfectly... and you are right all gamers need to do better. We have a common hobby and need to unite not divide ourselves
This level of scandal was the straw that broke the camel's back for me. Our voices won't change nothing. It only listens to its bottom line and shareholders. I am going to boycott Blizzard , especially when making money is its top priority now. NO D2R.
same, was hype for D2R but after all of this? ima just gonna watch it on twitch lol
Sadly I would agree the only thing to do is speak with your wallet, despite the collateral damage it causes. The people at the top don't care, they'll just spin some PR, fire a bunch of people and say they took care of it. It happens far too often in big companies.
No D2R and probably no D4 too?
so you want all the female victims to lose their jobs when all they wanted was a better working environment? because that's exactly what Boycotting an entire company would do. The victims will lose their jobs and you would be making their life more difficult and then other females would be afraid to speak up against this discrimination out of fear of losing their job because everyone will boycott the very company they work for and are trying to better...
@@TonyTheTemplar So... Your suggestion is to do nothing? Because if you continue to do nothing then you are far worse than if you let the sick company die!
The truth is that the true leadership in activition blizzard ONLY looks at their bottom line and the only way to get their attention is to speak with our wallets and close them. And yes, if Blizzard dies, people will be out of a job, which sucks. But it will send a strong message to the rest of the industry.
"We craft the society we live in."
OK. What ingredients do I put in my Horadric Cube in order to get a society without sexual assault and harassment?
I heard there's a lot of grinding involved!
china...they crack down hard on any dissidents who practice freedom...freedom is the problem...if you can create a dictatorial society where we have police go around and put people in gulags when they say mean things then we can have that society...but right now china is the country way ahead of everyone with communism.
you need to go out and vote away freedom so no one can vote anymore and a few men in power can make sure no one does anything anymore so we can be safe...
or we can be free and learn to not be so snowflakey and offended so easily and learn to tolerate freedom even if it is disgusting...
so either a dicatorship with no freedom or a society where we tolerate freedom...you decide but if you go dictatorship..the only way out of that is shooting your way out
@@kickassandchewbubblegum639 Dude what?? If dictatorship includes having no bs for sexual harassment and literal suicide because of that, then hell yeah, I want that kind of dictatorship.
Sigh. Dammit Activision Blizzard. I just want to throw my hands up and ask “WTF?”
I am so glad you're bringing this to light and not saying anything about it because you want to protect your image with blizzard and I'm so glad that my local news stations are actually broadcasting this situation and talking about it on tv
Thank you for the words about the allegations with ActivBlizz, we really do need to do better
Thank you Rhykker. Instead of choosing to capitalize on the current Blizzard news, you choose to stay away from it for professional reasons. I've been staying up to date through WoWhead and r/wow, but it is really refreshing to see your channel not updating every other hour with news regarding the suit. Thank you for updating the people who may be out of the loop while keeping your personal opinion private.

The fact that they killed the original and then didn't match the original's mechanical content (Ladder, etc.) then let the game die instead of fixing some imperative features after the horrible launch is unacceptable. It's the first time I've ever felt Blizzard truly lost it's heart.

"male gamers who disrespect female gamers become male game developers who disrespect female game developers" True words. And not just limited to game developers but applies to everyone.
Jay "Loser" Wilson, the guy who though dmg based fully on weapons were the way to go, GREAT CRAP.
As for bli$$, it is not that i prioritize gaming from attitude, but for me the GAME part from bli$$ of WoW after WotLK is CRAP. If most people were more strict in their requirements for a good game WoW wouldn't have that many players till this day.
Jay Loser Wilson had at least 3 bosses who signed off on his bad decisions like shitty legendary items and bad skills based on weapon. You can blame the entire blizzard top executives for not knowing how to make games. They just know how to hire bad people and make them scapegoats
That isn't even touching upon Jay Wilson and his team's shitty character. Have you seen him and his team's many responses on the forums, Facebook and other media? They had serious issues and could not take feedback or criticism at all. Good riddance.

Tldr: everything, everything went wrong with WC3 & blizzard in general, ever since Activision took over
At the point im letting Blizzard go. No longer want to play or even hear about that name. The last thing i have on my last wish is to get D2 remastered when it out as a gift to my best fr, but if they make it as alway online or has Drm then just forgot about it. The miss feedback was something I sent feedback on when I played the D2 Alpha so I am so happy they are adding that feature!
Almost through the first act in PoE, it's definitely harder but I'm still 1-2 shotting a lot mobs. Feels fine to me personally so far.
Just finished the first act running an ice shot ranger - it's totally fine so far. Expedition is shaping up to be a ton of fun, and things actually do feel better overall. Hard to say how much of that is mindset and how much is the actual changes, but I'm very pleasantly surprised so far.
@@tayloreernisse6248 agreed!
Honestly, player sentiment on the nerfs in PoE wasn't so much the severity of the nerfs but rather the direction of the nerfs. While in practice a lot of the nerfs didn't feel as bad as anticipated, they definitely missed the bar with what they keep telling us they set out to achieve with the nerfs. So a third massive nerf wave is inevitable and how many more until they understand their own game enough to nerf the right parts of it. Playing a meta sheep zoom character that 1shots bosses is still by far the most viable and if anything now for many people a required part of getting through the game. By brute-forcing damage down until you can no longer one-shot all you do is take every other build-out of the equation as a viable option that was not doing this and making those builds the new standard to still be able to do anything at all. They need to start hammering down on the reasons we only build 1shots and speed. The fact we can get randomly offscreen 1tapped by a white monster for example is a great incentive to only ever play 1shot screen clear builds that move at 2 screens per second. The fact they're systematically removing any form of mana sustain from the game means anything that costs more than 2 hits on the boss is now a fail state to the fight so you log out to refresh your mana pool and pray you can do it in 2 more hits. Naturally, you're going to play the build that actually kills the boss in those 2 hits rather than subject yourself to this kind of garbage tier portal/logging gameplay. More difficult is only more fun if you make it more fun. More difficult without more fun is just more difficult. Slower without more fun is just the same boring shit for longer times. That's the upsetting part about the nerfs, sure nerfs are necessary and large parts of it have been actually called for. Just a couple of things they did really aren't healthy for the game and they don't even see why.
The thing is Warcraft 3 Reforged not only failed to deliver on what it promised ( and still promises, last time I checked the website for it still lists and shows stuff that they never delivered on ) it removed several features that have been around for well over a decade. Not only for those that bought the new game, but for people who had the original and still loved and played it...removing dozens of features and options. AFAIK it's STILL completely broken and Blizz doesn't seem to give a shit
It’s sad but in the computer science industry many of us love to create games and we would love to work for companies that create amazing games, like blizzard does. It’s not unknown the level of bad behavior in these companies. They don’t care about the developers, they only seem to care about the income. The burnout rate is intense due to the variety of abuse that goes on in that industry. It kills me to teach budding young developers and hear them tell me that they want to work as a game developer knowing only that if they follow their dreams I am sending them into the jaws of the lion. I just hope we can change the industry by standing up and saying, “no more” to the bad behavior in management.
The WC3 Reforged all they really needed to do was update the graphics, keep the custom games and re-record voice to higher def. the biggest disappointment that led to me getting a refund was how they crippled custom games, the most loved feature of the original.
on the nerfs in PoE. personally i dont really mind slowing the game down. the only problem i see is that the only people whos gonna be slowed down at all is the casuals who were already working hard to make their builds work at all. i dont think nerfing the numbers is the direction, nerf the interactions with other stuff that buffs it. that leaves the casual players to still get where they were and the top end players will be nerfed. also the absolute biggest problem i have with PoE is that it takes absolutely ages to get to the end, end game with your atlas setup etc. that is what i personally enjoy about poe and at this point it just takes too long to justify doing it. ill happily await poe2 and see how it is at that point tho.
It takes absolute ages to slog there and the rewards don't occur until you are there. Leagues have almost never offered anything to the leveling experience. GGG is very say one thing and do another. If they truly wanted to make the best game they could make they would work on their UI choices and amounts of clicks to accomplish mundane tasks. The only thing the ever buff is the reliance on bots to get to a point in the game where it becomes fun to play it yourself because 'the chores' are done.
LE is a better game in alpha than the entire development arc of PoE. Yes it lacks the depth but that's because they went a more finite Diablo style skill system but they have proven that complexity has nothing to do with accessibility. Open crafting tab -> craft item is a whole lot better than Open stash - get item - get crafting item - click 1000 times to hit a mod - use secondary crafting item, brick - return to step 1. And every single thing in PoE feels that way. Extra tedious for no real reason. GGG and especially Chris have proven over the years that they just lack vision; they half ass a concept and then leave it to clog up the game. A hard poe clone with old blizzard polish would be absolutely foundational for the ARPG genre.
Blizzard doesn't care about anyone but shareholders. The fact they spit on their core user base, with Diablo Immortal and still haven't fired Wyatt Cheng is RIDICULOUS.
While Wyatt Cheng is still at Blizzard, my money doesn't touch Activision/Blizzard.
Pre ordering games these days is dangerous
Activision has ruined Blizzard
What really went wrong. Was that there’s a lot of people who can’t afford PC’s to play Warcraft III. The wrong demographic of people own PC’s that devalue Blizzard Entertainment and all PC Video Game Companies.

The Activision Blizzard piece is horrifying to read, and I truly appreciate the sensitivity you brought. Thank you❤️❤️
I kinda didn´t wanna read past "butt plugs and lubricant " ... yikes. :(
I'm sure neither team considers the other an active benchmark or a specific competitor but like... It's pretty crazy how the Last Epoch folks have basically built a functional ARPG within the time the Wolcen team tried and failed to polish their extant product.
You don't know how frustrated I was as a kid when I freaking managed to get evasion up to a fairly high level only to see enemies would stunlock me to death due to speed breakpoints work.
It would be amazing to see that as well, hope they add all the visual stuff to the game if only to remove the mysticism.
On D3, still upset about the neglect DH Impale is receiving. Left in the dark on S24 and although I'm not one of them I know many within the community have been asking for it to receive better parity with the other DH builds. I would like to see more than two weapons that support it (one of which doesn't boost the actual damage of the build), or at least some item that can create a minor variation to the build instead of the rather strict uniformity.
I'm sure they learned their lesson and will never ever disappoint their players again
Just put in for my refund for D2. I've stuck with Blizz for a lot, but this is the last straw.
People can boycott all they want, but with how much Activision makes, it’d be generous to say it would make a small dent.
If the rewind of development that happened on Reforged was indeed due to community feedback (we have every reason to believe it was), then not only the studio deserved the backlash it got, but the players also deserved the game they got. It takes a naïve person to think Blizzard is out of touch with their playerbase. They have a mutually destructive relationship.
In Warcraft Reforged they should've done what the creators of Age Of Empires Definitive edition did. Revamp graphics, add more civs, and add more campaigns.
What Went Wrong Inside Blizzard to Ruin WarCraft 3 Reforged
? just W3R? did you forget all blizzard games are dead besides wow? diablo might be alive when D2R for some time... until the nostalgia fans quit.....
Blizzard Exodus was about this, everything makes sense right now.... no shit why Kaplan quit and other big boi devs....... "WOMAN WHO CODE IN BLIZZARD" lol, i hope they get guilty
On the topic of ethereals and "shaking up the meta" leading into D2R, I think your tier list video makes it very clear too.
We once again have a very centralised power source, ala CoE, Squirts and Stricken that every single build will use and doesn't actually provide for variety, I'm not even a fan of D2 but had higher hopes for how ethereals would work out.
Making a new best in slot for every class is the same as just giving every class +100% to their skills, seriously hoping that they strike a nice middle ground in D4 and don't resort to +10,000% dmg again
That shows again that the US is still stuck in the 50s or 60s in many ways. Education, health care (including of course payed maternity leave), things like zero guaranteed holidays, how they treat women and people of other colors .. as a german i think i see a poor developing county the more i learn about what was long thought to be one of "the greatest countries". Nowadays even all eastern europe countrys, where we thought they were maybe "poor" are mostly far ahead of the states in so many ways.
Regarding California suing Acti/Blizz, that was the best objective reporting you could do with your expertise and I find your choice of words very convenient. I like your style, keep up the excellent work!
Greedy corps not listening to the actual game devs.
I'm torn. I love Diablo 3, Starcraft, Overwatch and I want the devs who made such awesome games...but I can't support a company that's acted in such a shameful, disgusting, misogynistic way
Thank you for broaching the subject with the weight it deserves, Rhykker. It's been painful to hear just how bad things have been at Activision Blizzard
Rykker: I'm gonna talk about the news that came out about Activision Blizzard
Me: Oh? What happened?
Rykker: so sorry you've had to go threw all of this.
Me:.......So....I guess you're NOT gonna talk about it?
Having been playing Expedition in Path of Exile, it's not just the nerfs, but the changes to the AI and NPC skills that makes this probably one of the more challenging leagues of recent history. To the point that it feels like the theme is more 'we don't want no dirty filthy casuals in our game'. Let's be honest, the changes aren't going to significantly impact the high-tier players much. Sure, it'll be a minor speedbump, but it's something that can be adjusted for on meta builds. However, it makes the game even less accessible for new and casual players. I fear that by further raising the bar of accessibility for newer or more casual players, they are going to consign the game to a slow death due to lack of new blood to make up for those who inevitably leave the game.
Growing up in Bulgaria, Diablo 2 was THE game. My friends and I will do all nighters (10pm to 6am) in the internet cafes and have an absolute blast. I was so looking forward to playing the Resurrected version and already purchased the pre-release version on my xbox. The recent developments (some very horrid) at Activision have left such a sour taste, completely ruining the anticipation to relive my childhood.
03:42 should have been my best speech yet and or ever. Good job rhykker
I don't think they will ever bring the promises to this game. At most, it will just get a steady patch with ladders and clans probly.
The new voice act, campaign cinematics, campaign new content that will clarify some parts of the story, custom camps and many more will never come.
I bought Last Epoch during the last Steam Sales and it turned out to be one of the better purchases. Currently the main campaign is pretty short, but the game feels right. Decent skill trees for various types of builds. Straight forward crafting. Ranged aiming is sometimes a little odd, as you have to aim at the spot on the ground where a monster walks instead of clicking on the monster itself. But that's a minor niggle. Just started my second toon to see how a meelee character plays. Definitely a game you'd want to try, if you're at all interested in ARPGs.
The only way out for Blizzard here, that I can see(with regards to the WC3 issue) is to separate themselves from Activision, and go solo again. I still don't really understand why they decided to band together with Activision, when they had a great thing going on. Money must have been the only motivating factor. I'm sad here, mainly because I can't see Blizzard ever getting back to the top again. This hurts especially hard because we'll probably lose the beloved IPs that we've grown up enjoying.
I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think I am.
All this talk about diablo 2 make me feel like its 1999 again lol
They wanted to make d3 feel special cause it's gonna die when d2r come out 😆
D4 will definitely kill it, along with Lost Epoch, if it ever releases and doesn´t totally suck.
@@tsuelue I agree 👍. Can not wait for d4. I've had d3 uninstalled now for a few months knowing d2r comming out. I do have over 60 days played and just burnt out now.
Players tried POE's nerfs and hate it. If GGG doesnt care about concurrent records, they wont care about having 40 percent less players at launch than they had last league, which is what steam chart says.
Here is another question, what didn’t go wrong in blizzard as soon as they changed to money profit at all costs, literally at all costs, ethics, worker safety security and freedom, same for players etc. like daaam.
I liked the way you covered this story with self awareness and acknowledgement of bias and priviledge. My only unrelated criticism is that your website referred me to youtube videos rather than an easily digestible picture of the items/skills for d3 builds. At the same time I understand maybe those change every season and your ad revenue is chiefly from youtube. So I appreciate your content and site regardless!
Maxroll.gg for what you're looking for! My website is just a sorted grouping of my videos
good job on the video rhykker!
so many wrongs in our world could be fixed if everyone just followed the tenet of "don't be a dick".
and not for nothing, claims of "we didn't have enough time" as they relate to the bungling of Warcraft 3 Reforged ring a bit hollow when you imagine employees drunkenly wandering the offices groping their female coworkers.
A Blizzard project ruined by Activision intervention?
Shocking.
The sad thing is with this situation is that whether you continue to support or boycott blizzard, ultimately the entire company needs a complete top down gutting for change to happen and if Activision does that, Blizzard wont exist anymore except maybe as a small mobile game studio. The abuse of power and harrassment of lower ranked individuals in the company is so prominent that there wouldnt be any leadership left in the company for it to even run if Activision gutted it meaning the lower level staff wouldnt have a job left regardless. Its probably the worst possible situation for Blizzard to be in.
Ironic that Jay Wilson said that and released Diablo 3. Still to this day my biggest regret in a video game purchase, ever.
Still today, even after others came and attempted to fix it, it is arguably the worst mainstream ARPG on the market.
People who played D2 will never think D2R will be up to their expectations. It will be just nostalgic events
Unless blizzard willing to care and add real end game content. At least learn from POE
They get new stuffs to do every new season
Even though the story is short but at least it is new
That would be their own damn fault. Why would anyone go into D2R expecting massive amounts of new end game content when it hasn't been addressed at all? They deserve to have their unrealistic expectations dashed upon the rocks.
