I pressed on the order button starting at 12 EST and nothing ever happened (dead button). Eventually about 4 minutes later it said out of stock. So Nakamichi (as predicted) wanted nothing to do with my money. Congrats to everyone that got one. Can’t wait for your review!
The out of stock after 4 minutes turned out to me a mistake/glitch. A few minutes after that it went back to the pre order button. It wasn’t a smooth ordeal but I was able to order it about 10 minutes after it launched.
The same thing happened to me. They could have probably sold 3 times as many if they made them available. Has me wondering if I should have tried ordering one a few seconds before 12:00 EST because I tried a split second after and seems like I never had a chance.
This is exactly what happened to me but I came back and the button changed from out of stock to preorder and got one of the 500 with an August estimated ship date.

I can't wait to get one, but I'm holding out on waiting for in-depth reviews and someone to put it through it's paces for music and movies. I hope you are able to get one.
I got one, they sold out in less than 30 minutes, they explained the button failure and attributed it to shoppify. Fortunately I sent them an email not thinking I would get a response but they did respond with the link to Shopify which led to the successful order. They had thousands of people hitting the button at 9am and almost no system can keep up with that. But it’s a good sign for the longevity of this product, high demand is a great sign.

Man I’m sooo tempted to buy this.. I literally just bought the LG S95QR less than a year ago though, but you only live once! Haha I’m happy with my LG, I think it sounds as well and at times better than the overpriced Sony HTA7000. The Samsung 990b had too many drop outs. That said, I really want something that can provide better bass with better crossover & handoffs to the surrounds, but still has the “must have” featured for me such as DTS & hdmi inputs…. So aka, Ugh I want this!
As a consumer I am happy to wait. As a reviewer I’m bummed … not sure why I could never get the order button to function. I was pressing it right at 12:00
@@neverenoughtech You needed to reload the website after 12:00 to get the functional button. I did that like right after it went live and got to the shopify cart, but it already said SOLD OUT so I didnt get a system either :( .. but apparently that was a glitch on the site wich makes it even more annoying. oh well
@@HPMIKE55 Was NOT "out of stock" major glitch in their website pre-order fiasco. I had to call 3 different Naka phone numbers before I got Jesse who e-mailed me the order form and I was off to the races. Now I just have to sit here and twiddle my thumbs until it gets to my front door.
At the 6 second mark it shows the package of only 5 speakers. 2 Subs. A soundbar (Center Channel), and 2 itsy bitsy speakers that I suppose are the Left and Right channel speakers. SO... were are the other 16 speakers that would be required to make an actual 11.4.6 (11+4+6=21) surround system? Are they in another box. And are there any real speakers for the Left and Right that are say 3 way speakers with 12 or 15" woofers in them? I don't get the grift going on here by Nakamichi.
I’m going to get one, but completely agree that I’m worried it will be very alpha. I also worry that they are going to have build issues, not just software… 😢
Build issues? Idk about that as they have been crafting this for over 5 years. I have high hopes build quality will be pretty good especially with some of the premium materials they used. Software is easier to iron out with an update should there be an issue
I got one. Had to keep refreshing, and it said Out of stock before it came back. Ended up with order 1130 (probably #130) and am told I’ll receive in August. Hopefully some folks cancel!
Highly doubt they will have any issues. This is the cream of the cream historically. If else this are high quality units to impress their audience and build momentum for their main production to come.
In another video a youtuber claimed that Nakamichi Dragon is the only Soundbar that's able to decode a so to say "adult" version of Dolby Atmos, which otherwise only cinemas have access to. Have you ever heard of that? Unfortunately I can't find the video anymore..

The Dragon will have the DTS-X Pro version which so far has only been given to higher end / flagship receivers and amps. So that is what they were refereeing to as the adult version.
Thanks for the reply! You could order the system for the last 4 days, unfortunately it won't be delivered to Europe / Germany... A shame! I would like to order it I wrote to Nakamitchi to see if there was any news about whether the system would soon be shipped outside of the US, but I haven't received an answer yet.@@neverenoughtech
I had the Nakamichi 7.2.4 and just couldn't get the sound to my liking with my LG OLED 77C1. I later developed an intermittent muffling sound that go progressively worse and louder over time with the Nakamichi. Ended up replacing it with the Sonos Arc, dual Gen 3 subs, and Fives as rear surrounds at X-mas (the Sonos Atmos Era 300 were not out yet). Extremely happy with this soundbar. I couldn't wait +7 months for the Dragon.

I kept pressing the order now button and all it did was say Out Of Stock after about three minutes - so very satisfying shopping experience

1 year warranty soured my hype for this. Proprietary and at that price 1 year is not near enough piece of mind.
I have a 1 year warranty on my Nakaimichi shockwafe SSE from 2019 and I still get support by Nakaimichi on my units!

Got one after the launch. I added my name to the waiting list and they emailed me and I ordered this morning. Eased my dissapointment.

Never order anything without a proper review. That goes for cars, games, books, anything.
