    I had the similar problem when I was modding my rk84. The spacebar just won't bounce back to its original height. In the end the problem was due to the plate foam which I installed myself being too wide and was pressing/pushing against the wire of the stabilizer, causing extra/unnecessary friction.

    • @KeeCode
      @KeeCode  2 года назад

      I see, I noticed that when installing cork into my board there were similar problems as well. It’s an interesting problem! How did you end up fixing it?

    • @jt.l6129
      @jt.l6129 2 года назад +2

      @@KeeCode oh well pretty simple. Just cut off the excess foam which are pressing against the wire

      can you explain i have the same problem and idk what to do

    • @KeeCode
      @KeeCode  2 года назад

      The first thing you can do is take out some of the foam that is causing tightness near your stabilizers. If you remove all the foam near the stabilizers and there is still a problem. Try mix and matching your stabilizer pieces to find a looser fit

    For your spacebar, i think the keycaps is interference with your switch. It might be bended or something. So turning the keycaps upside down or get another keycaps with higher profile would be works. Cause i have the same problem with the backspace key, and i tried to switch the keycap with oem profile (was a cherry one), and no more mushy and stuck key. And for your enter key, i think it can get better. Try to get more pressure when install the keycaps, especially on the two side of stabs all the way together. Then it would be more clack.

    • @KeeCode
      @KeeCode  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for the advice, I’ll give it a try with a couple more spacebars, I did try to put on my ducky shine spacebar but that didn’t do the trick. I appreciate your response!

    I've the same problem, BUT with original keycap works fine, but other custom keycap the spacebar stucks or mushy, and i dont know why, i tested other spacebars keycaps but only keycaps with 3 holes works fine, custom with 6 mount holes stuck on bounce back, well i dont know how to fix it :(

    • @KeeCode
      @KeeCode  2 года назад

      That’s an odd problem, I haven’t faced that one yet so I’m not sure how to deal with it. It may have something to do with the weight of the keycaps though. Maybe try weighing them and see if there is a significant difference

    • @Dangz
      @Dangz 2 года назад +1

      @@KeeCode its true, the 3 hole keycaps its to much lighter than 6 holes, i think about that, i've tried a lot of things, re-lub stabs, unlub, its weird a lot

    • @KeeCode

      @@KeeCode I try a original stabs moded and works fine, durock stabs I believe it's a chronic problem

    • @KeeCode
      @KeeCode  2 года назад

      Yeah, the durock stabs are probably slightly a different size and it is causing too much friction, it’s hard to deal with that problem. You could try and mod the stabilizers or just look for new ones

    Do these need to be clipped, it doesn't have the little fang at the extra legs, they seemed to look flat. Should I clip them although they don't have that L shape?

    • @KeeCode
      @KeeCode  2 года назад

      You don’t have to clip them but I did, they have two pieces that are slightly raised. You can clip them and maybe you will see a little difference, plus it’s kinda fun to do. If the bottom is completely flat then there is no need to clip.

      Hey, If you have tried lube, one mod I suggest is continue using the plate mount stabilizer housing, but replace the insert of the durock stabilizers with the insert that came with your keyboard. 10:30 in this video I explain what I did. Good luck!
