I am enjoying going thru your vids and remembering the stories you shared while on trail last year. I am highlighting my AWOL guide and the hostels you mentioned as well. -Movin' On
You are hiking great! you seem pretty good going uphill and not that out of breath. When I hiked in 1990 it was about 30% women. Hiking strong! You said in the last video that you were from Indiana. Anywhere near Rising Sun, Indiana? I was canoeing to New Orleans in 1989 and I stopped into Rising Sun to eat lunch and it was the prettiest town on the entire trip. I always said that I was going to go back but I didn't make it yet. My friend Boudin who I met on my first hike was in an Ingles and he and his wife stopped and without talking sniffed the air and both said at the same time, "there's a hiker in here!" There was.....2 isles over. They laughed so hard. Damn girl! Steep uphill, raining, 40*, sliding in the mud and still smiling. You have the right attitude! You are such a strong hiker. Barring any injuries, I have no doubts that you will make it to Katahdin! Stay strong! geek
I hiked in 21’ and it’s so cool to watch your videos! It seems like all the rainy parts on my hike are sunny for you and vice versa haha. It’s nice to see the areas that were just a cloud for me. Definitely can relate about being the only lady at the shelter. I found that it balances out a lot more past VA. You got this! - shredder
I admire you for not challenging the negative comments based on gender. Obviously, you had every right too, but that guys comment’s are more about his own insecurities than your abilities. You be you and let the nay sayers eat crow as they watch you cruise by. Keep up the good work!
Delta, great name pupper. Silly question but do you carry that (extra) pack with you in your backpack normally or is that your normal backpack just unloaded?
You were a lot nicer in response to that misogynistic comment than I ever could've been. Even though you know you can do it it's just so annoying to hear that kind of negativity in every day life, let alone on trail I'm sure.
Love the spooky tree. Like how you show a lot of trail and not just endless selfies. Thanks.
The trick with tubes in sub freezing conditions is to blow back the water into the bag between every time you drink.

Great few days. Cold, great views and great miles. Keep trekking. 😀

Thank you! Haha, smell the hiker coming. I don’t know Rising Sun!
🙂
Awesome video update. You had to be happy to slack pack the rainy day and knocked out a few miles.Nice kitchen where you stayed.🌲👏
So happy! Creekside Paradise was great!
Another idea for use as Sun gloves are cotton canvas gardening gloves. They work for me with my hiking poles. Happy Trails! 🚶🏼♀️👍🏻🙂
I found some!!!

How are the smartwools holding up?
Really well! No complaints yet- I got a hole in my Smartwool gloves but that’s because I had a gnarly fall and caught myself with that hand.

It was a backpack I borrowed from the place where I was staying! They will include that if they have a “slack pack” service!
