You are doing such a good job under extreme conditions. What a strong hiker and you have 200 miles behind you now. Enjoy you time in Gatlinburg! Thank you so much for the good videos. Stay healthy, safe and enjoy the trail!
Nice! The smokies look beautiful. I got clingmans on a sunny clear day and it brought some tears to my eyes. Thank you for showing this part of the trail
I do love that part of the trail. My go to hike on the AT now that I’m old is going in off the highway to Mt.Collins shelter. Puts me back in the woods for a little while. Smart to go into town. I think you had enough personal growth for one day!
It's always so pretty with the fog in that forest part up to Clingman's, if only you could break out of the fog just before you reach the peak so you get the views. Would not have wanted to be tip toeing on that ice! After being out in the cold rain I"m sure that room felt sooo good!
Been in that same area in similar weather in late March (day hiking). Crinkly and cold and a strange silence with the ice. That kind of cold is very rough on the hands and feet. Looks like you made a good decision, and am proud you made it through mentally and physically!.
As someone who hikes year round up north (New Hampshire) Micro Spikes are you friend for sure! So glad you made it down safely. Keep on pumping out the miles and maybe I'll see you in the Whites this year!
Wow Gabby, you are doing great. I spent a night on the trail and got lonely. Headed home the next day! My wife of 46 years said she would let me give it another try. Would love to have been your sidekick! Keep going!!
Congrats on 200 miles, less than 2000 to go. You really should have had microspikes. The restrooms at New Found Gap used to be heated. Happy Trails. Good Luck, Rick
Hey there Gabby. Days of hiking like that make for some memories for sure. Good call on a break with everything being wet and cold and and icey. Good to not get hurt or break something to spoil the journey. I saw that you met up with Taylor near Clingmans Dome area. Good dea. That should have been fun and both of you took breaks due to weather. You are making good calls and doing great. Why cant the hikes in the woods be foggy and cool and mysterious and then be clear blue skies when you reach the peaks lol. Maybe the trail gods will get it right for ya more days. Keep it going girl, doing great.
Congratulations on 200 miles. Glad to see you’re hiking smart. Love your videos. Please stay safe, enjoy, head north. Thanks for sharing.

Huddled up in my warm bed in far far away Germany and envying you. Be safe and happy trails✌️
Bathrooms a Clingmans Dome were heated earlier this year for other hikers.
Congrats for hanging in there. You definitely have this. 200 hundred miles is great. Keep it up.
Good video, with some good views, one more cold weather, so let's keep on hiking...😮
Smart move to go to Gatlinburg. Hot food, warm dry bed and a shower sure beats a cold wet night in a shelter.
It was a smart move to go into town. Good job.
You're doing great, staying positive and making smart decisions.
You are a wise woman. Thank you for sharing.

Parts of the AT on the northern slope remain icy into May - the sun never directly hits it.
I love the way you keep a positive attitude on trail.good going!!!
I can't imagine how good that hot shower felt and the food!

Great job Gabby. You played the ice descent smartly. You are right, years from now you will reflect on this ice challenge. Be safe.
I at at the same pizza buffet last year. Smart idea to get out of the freezing rain and dry out everything. Gatlinburg is such a tourist trap!
I found you through Nahamsha Hiker and I'm loving your vlogs. Informative and to the point. Good job!
Sending angels 😇🙏
A memorable day of type two fun.
Oh…and NOC at gatlinburg has info on hiker deals for hikers - hotels and food I’ve heard 🙂🙏

Congratulations on 200 miles. So glad you went to Gburg.
micro spikes, extra puffy layer and umbrella this time of year, they are worth the weight
200 miles!🎊🎉🍾🙂🙏

That all looked pretty rough with all the ice.
glad you got to rest up a bit.

Hike Ireland
I definitely think you should have tried sliding down! But probably for safety sake it's good you didn't.
