"The Man From Waco"
The mirage of Del Rio it was burning in his eyes
And sleep had escaped him, too consumed by his pride
Like the lonesome and high country he was lost in a haze
And the thoughts of what he’d do if he unloaded all his rage
The man from Waco
The city was almost silent as he passed the humming signs
On the corner he heard laughter, made him afraid of what he’d find
He pushed through the door, hypnotized by a sound
Just then tears overcame him and his heart began to drown
The man from Waco
It was there that he shot her while the lovers were embraced
With the bullet he intended for the man who took his place
He cried through the night as he made his escape
But the rain that was fallin’ could not wash away his shame
The man from Waco
On the banks of the Brazos, where the desert willow grows
The clear shallow water just won’t say all it knows
A moment of burning anger can curse the living through the days
You can let that river take you but you will never get away
The man from Waco Развлечения
We're witnessing a true talent in country music again. He reaches all sorts of demographics and categories of music. Don't see a ceiling for Jukebox. Keep on going Charley.
on of my favorite songs from charley is I'm Workin'. not a lot of people can combine country, jazz, blues all into one masterpiece
Yeah...he makes me feel like I'm in my family home kitchen where the radio was always on. I didn't really listen to it though, it was the background music. I heard it, just didn't really listen. Now I'm older, and now I'm getting fond memories and I'm actually listening to Charley.
Punk love him, trad country fans love him. Even my death metal friends love him

i think we might be entering a new golden age of country music, the genre has been neglected for far too long my brothers and sisters, but i reckon we're in for a comeback!
You would make a mean spaghetti western soundtrack, great work!
With Bobby Cochran directing!
“Should”
@@Jaymerism this
Today binge watched all Clint Eastwoods classics, best movies
make it happen 🔥
This man, Tyler Childers and Colter Wall are holding country on their shoulders
Leading into an exciting new era of country music!!!
Childers sucks with his pandering to liberal city dwellers.
Childers turned queer
May I add Colby Acuff?
Sturgill
marty robbins meets waylon jennings and he didn't give in to a full sony contract - he didn't want to be molded. A hero....and awesome singer.
That Johnny Cash influence is real
I’m beyond thankful we can still have actual country music 👌🏼 thank you Charley hopefully you will come to northern Cali sometime soon. Been listening for quite a few years now and haven’t got to go to a live show. Literally Charley is all my 10 year old listens too especially when he’s out on his horse he does the whole outfit and everything lol definitely want to take him to a show whenever you make it this way. Thank you for the songs you sing.
nah make him come to vienna please
We’ll said
Ya Charlie come to nor cal
@@witozaar5988 agree
Yeah come on up to NorCal we’re waiting for ya
Charlie Crockett just lets me know real music still exists. I've completely stopped listening to the radio at this point because of the junk we are forced to listen to.
Get you some sturgill Simpson
You’re never forced, good stuff is out there. Just have to find it and do what you did which is turn off your radio.
Hoo Yah, lots of real music never passes the Algorithms in Nashville. But it is still here.
I've always loved Charley Crockett music, funny thing is, I live in a town just fifteen minutes away from Crockett, Texas
I was born in Waco and grew up in the neighboring community of Whitney. I love what Charley Crockett has done by embracing that "old" sound. It's good for the soul. Keep it up Charley. - A man from Waco
Marty robins soul lives in this man.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I love it.
Now that’s a helluva man and storyteller right there
I haven't messed with country music for awhile but this is real country music
Except it's all fantasy. Nobody is riding around horses to commute. Real music is about being stuck in traffic etc.
Do we really need another version of this Album???? GODDAMN RIGHT WE DO!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Born and raised in Southern Louisiana. I grew up on waylon Jennings and outlaw country. Your music brings back so many memories. Thank you.
Just a comment for the algorithm
Man he could make a movie with his music awesome
A top country singer , #1 singer in my book .
Thats great 😊 where are you mainly playing? I subscribed to you too. Keep rockabilly!
When I think of Waco, I always think of the late great Billy Joe Shaver. A legend. May he RIP.
He's a diamond now
He's gonna live forever now.@@Nosirrah2112
Wacko from Waco
The entirety of “The Man From Waco” album does not miss. Truly great stuff.
His best work yet!
Always find myself coming back to his music
This was the first Charlie Crockett song I ever heard. Chills. Absolutely spellbinding. God gave this man a gift. ❤
Can't get enough of this artist's offerings!!! 🎉👋👋👋👋👋
My god this guy is so underrated I’ve never in my life went on iTunes and liked every single artist song this guy has got to be one of if not the best country singer I’ve ever heard. I’m sorry but my god
What a cool version. Keep up the good work Charley and I'll keep listening man.
Just found this guy. What a bad ass…
Visit you'd do more East Coast shows. Philadelphia/New Jersey needs you!
Finally Western Music reappears, Not to be confused with country music 😮, which base is itself around the family and farm which started emerging in the mid-70s approximately 🤔⁉️ PostScript, yes that I'm that old approximately 😮😬‼️
"A moment of burning anger can curse the living through the days" So true these days.
My favorite artist...he's Americana as anyone could ever achieve. Soooo good. C, you're the truth. I don't listen to anything else for the most part. You're the best. You, Colter Wall, Paul Cauthen, Sturgill, Childers, and Cody Jinx should start a new rendition of the Highwaymen
💕💕💕💕 we done did it!! 💕💕💕💕
Only if this world was as free as it once was
Like this more folky style
Now that’s quality work brother
Pure talent. Been a fan for 4 years now
I am partial to the Mexican horns but this is good too
Im stuck between which one is my favourite.. love that spaghetti western flick added to this version
God love ya, Charlie! And here I was lamenting the fact that almost no one was making real country music anymore!
Charley is the man! He never disappoints!
No one is out here doing it like Charley Crockett.
I don't like country music. I love this song. 'nuff said.
i hate mainstream country music but charley i could listen to all day. truly a student of real cowboy music
This is real music, love this vibe
Up here in Cowtown (Calgary, Alberta). Loving your work brother - keep on bringing the good tunes to the world.
Easiest can be in any QuickDraw scene.. this song is fucking great 🔥
Great job Charley!
this version is perfect. It needed that little speed up.
Feel like I stepped back in time
I just found out about you Charley, I heard this song on my XM radio country station. I generally listen to the 1940s station but I came to find you and Scribe. I can’t wait to check out your other rockabilly songs.
RIP Slim, this is incredible. Can't wait to see you this Fall. Thanks Charley!
Man brought sound needed for people🫡
This album needs to follow suit of Red Headed Stranger and be made into a film! You,sir, are an American treasure!! 🐊 🐎
Charlie is a staple in the music department in my house my whole family loves him! On a side not I wonder why no one interviewing him ( that I’ve seen ) ask him to elaborate on the yellow and red phones in the music videos?? Lol
This sounds great
Love it but those horns need to be there - the way they bust into the song is about as incredible as it gets! CC has it goin' on, son!
Charley,
Nice to see you playing the guild in this video. When you did this live in December 2022. It was 🔥
WOW! Real country music. There's still hope!
🐎🐎
Hell yeah!
Haven’t heard a real country song come out in a while. Well done!
Charley is King
Is anyone else thankful for the fixed pronunciation of Brazos? Bless him ❤
I'm from Australia so dont know how to pronounce it..but do people from different areas in Texas pronounce it differently? I like the way he would sing it in the album version...interesting that he changed it.
@@seancarter3060the way he says it in this video is how people from waco pronounce it.
Bra-zus instead of Bra-zOs
I’m from Waco
Man is a legend
fuckin awesome!
Kind of reminds me of Marty Robins , El Paso .. Great story lines
My lord. We missed to see him in Kansas 2022, the day KU WON the elite 8. Glad you could see the town celebration. More glad to see your success.
He's freakin awesome!! Reminds me of Junior Brown with his hat and the way he dresses lol
another one well done.
Good stuff charley
Charlie...I attended your show here in Tucson and my woman recreated this song into reality...I have no more in me...
My playlists have all rock/blues/pop/metal/dance and Charley is just in there too🤣. I love his old school, almost classy style. Purist. I dig it.
Very classy * ✨
Howdy👋 from Mineral Wells Texas. Charlie, keep it up.
