Excellent video Bobby! My recently acquired M8 uses Profile1 a preset as my version of Monochrom… Like yourself Contrast is set High and iso to max 640 although most of my images seem to be iso160. This profile is set to JPG Fine, as a dedicated black and white photographer I don’t see the point of an each way bet and using DNG. My colour Profile2, if I ever want to shoot that way, is set to DNG/JPEG Fine. I post process in Apple Photos (yes really) for any cropping and straightening, then into Silver Efex2 for any film presets I may want to use. Kodak Tri-X 400 is my fave, add a darkroom border and bingo, out we go to make more Leica Magic✌️🇦🇺
Sounds fantastic! I use to have Silver Efex too, hmm need to get it again. Yeah and you are totally right. If you already know that you are going to convert it to black and white then why not just shoot it in BW jpgs!
Great video, Bobby. Nice to see some "street-shooting" stuff from Copenhagen - hope to "bump" into you one day again. I, btw, always leave my M10 and my Q on the monochrom JPG setting, just in order to see light and shadow in an image better - still, though, I prefer to use the DNG's for B&W convertions. I will now, on your advice, try to set the JPG's more contrasty and more sharp! Perhaps they will work as a finished image for me too? Also an advantage, if you use the Leica Photos APP - then posting an image on the go, would be just a breeze. Keep safe and "shooting" ... !
Great video Bobby. And really nice images. Btw, saturation can't be set, when your in monochrome mode on the M10. Also, I would choose both DNG/JPG, so you have the possibility to change your mind, afterwards. But hey, we are all different, and it's a good challenge to shoot jpg only. So maybe I should try it. 🤗
Thanks Jan! Yeah thought so about the saturation because it doesn’t make sense.. Normally I would set it to ding + jpg but this was just a test to see how well the jpgs hold up on Monochrom :) but can’t deny that I’m lusting after a true Monochrom sensor
@@BobbyAnwar yes I can understand your lust 😍 Personally I could never afford both. And only a Monochrom would stress me... Take care Bobby. Maybe we will run into each other in cold Copenhagen. (I saw you in the Leica Shop to the "Into the Ice" event. But had to go before we had a chance to talk...)
Not really, its a highly capable camera! I have no need for a bigger sensor as I prefer to be able to shoot in lower light situations so a lower resolution sensor makes more sense to me? Hope it helps!
Nice video! I’m on the search for my first Leica. Mainly shoot backstage concerts and street with my canon r6. I want a full frame smaller camera for everyday. I don’t take the r6 out and about as much as I want. It’s to big. Anyway I’m thinking of a q2/3 or an m10. What would you do? I know you can’t decide for me but just wanted some advise from a RUclipsr that actually uses there cameras.
Hey! Sorry for the late answer, well I have had both the Q1 and the Q2 and for everyday carry it’s an excellent choice it’s easy and practical and produces excellent results. I shifted back to the M10 because I usually shoot with a 50mm lens and I also missed shooting with a rangefinder camera, I simply LOVE shooting with the M system because it makes me work harder to get results. Please let me know what you ended up with??
@@BobbyAnwar I ended up getting a decent deal on an m10 with 28 elmerit and 50 cron. I wanted a different shooting experience then my canon r6. So now I have two great cameras that serve different purposes.
@@rebelwithano good to know! That’s a stellar combo. I need to get a 35mm Summicron as well, I tend to carry my m10 in my pocket and the 50mm Summilux is just a bit too big for a compact setup
I actually had a M6 for over ten years but unfortunately it got stolen, made a video about too :) but it’s definitely on my list for the future. I miss it!
Looking great, I like high contrast on my Q for monochrome.
Thanks! Hoping to get my hands on a dedicated Monochrom Q2 next
@@BobbyAnwar I still fancy a CL! 😁
Oh thats a good one too, and think its possible to get “cheap” now. Well you know nothing Leica is cheap hehe
@@BobbyAnwar you are a long time dead, so better to get your wallet out and live your best life, #notapracticerun!🤣

Thanks Stig! yeah normally I would choose the option to shoot png/jpg but was just curious on how well the jpgs hold up :)
nice video thank you , but I had trouble understanding you sound quality issues
Thank you and yes I have quite the trouble with the sound a couple of times but hopefully it’s better in the newer videos :)

do you feel any limitations with the m10 in 2023 im deciding between the m10 and the m10r

NICE VIDEO handsome😍
Haha thanks babe ❤️
Even if you get a real monochrome camera you still going to edited it in Lightroom, spend that money on trips and travel
