- Tropical Storm Ian will become a hurricane soon, possibly rapidly intensifying as it approaches Cuba. The worst weather stays west of Jamaica, but hurricane and tropical storm conditions are likely for the Cayman Islands. Western Cuba could have winds over 100 mph by early this week.
After that, it is highly uncertain where this goes. It depends on a front to the north. All locations from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida and the Bahamas should monitor this closely. Florida is taking initial preparations at this time.

Great coverage. Not living in America, it is rare to hear detailed storm reports and their impact in the Caribbean, particularly the Cayman Islands (maybe because we are so small). Very helpful - thank you!
Exactly! I definitely will share because he actually includes us. The only time you hear about Cayman is if we are threatened, nothing else; even then it's very little information for us to follow.

Yes he's going to stop the storm he made as he is (if you forgotten) the person who knows what gonna happen and isn't going to do anything to change that. Therefore, the only protection you got is prayer and prayer is only good for your own sake. It doesn't alter the future or anything.
Brian likewise good people in the Caribbean, where I am in Jamaica 🇯🇲 it rained with no winds. Brian was spot on and may we continue to pray for God to bless Brian and his family. We also need to thank God for sending Brian for having a heart for us in the Caribbean. Thank you Brian.

Hey my favorite weather person. This is definitely something I think everyone needs to take seriously. The Euro has been very consistent with a West Coast landfall but as we know we have to be very vigilant of all coastal areas. I appreciate your very fine detailed weather reporting. 👋😎

I have to say, when this popped up in my recommends I was a little skeptical, but I was pleasantly surprised! You provide very straightforward, easy to digest information, explain the factors that influence the margin of uncertainty, and don't over-sensationalize. (That last in particular is maddening coming from all the "official" for-profit weather outlets. Nobody takes storm threats seriously anymore because of it.) Thank you!
I agree with you people are getting numb to hurricanes because of the hype other for profit meteorologist most stay put in home and hopefully make it.

I just recently moved from Cali to Florida and was sent to this channel today from a friend. I really appreciate the details in explaining what's going on so we can prepare accordingly. We haven't been through a storm yet so we really don't know what we're in for. Sending love to everyone who may be affected by this storm. Hopefully we all survive. Hang on tight everyone!!
What you're in for depends on your position related to the path . Eastern side is always worst than the western side with winds pushing water into land, expect flooding in low lying areas and probably power outages. If you're a direct hit of the eye you will see the maximum force of the storm, do not go out when the eye passes over you. The winds will change direction afterwards so be ready.
Either way power will be out for an extended period of time, possibly boil water advisory and a huge mess to clean up.

Hello Mr. Brian. Uncertainty yes. This is a big storm. 53 years in Florida and growing up in Monroe and Broward counties, I have learned the east/southeast side of the storm is always the nastiest.

Seeing your charts while hearing you talk was very helpful. Here in the USA we oftentimes see a chart quickly and then they zoom into other areas while all talking is happening. Tha can get confusing when you're an older person with slower eyesight focusing. You made it very understandable and gave us time enough to take in everything the charts were showing us! Thank you!

Again thanks for your update, we are mainly seeing rain, at about 7:05am the rain got heavy, and the road vanished not too long ago. This system dumps rain, and it is heading towards my brother in Florida. So he is preparing and also watching your updates.
