This mall has so many memories for me. Most good some bad. I dated a girl for a few years and we would go there during the summer or hang out at her friends place in the surrounding area. Thanks for visiting this place sir.
Lewisville resident here! I've been documenting this mall along with the also dying Willow Bend in Plano for a long time. I can remember when Vista Ridge had some life in it; I'd visit it a lot as a kid. The downfall really began when Sears closed up in 2018; I visited it twice before and during liquidation and it was dead as a doornail, water damage everywhere, no shoppers. Looked scant. Also during my visit in 2018, JCPenney had a broken air conditioner. It was impossible to breathe. Having gone back since Sears' liquidation, the mall has declined significantly. The last mainstream tenant in the interior is VisionWorks. Dillard's is only accessible from the outside, and as you said, they turned JCPenney into Quicklotz. Every time I go, the fountain is either off, the escalators aren't working, or there's water damage and broken AC, making the mall either too hot or too cold. Zion Market is really great, though! I hope redevelopment comes soon. That area of Lewisville is doing quite well and would benefit from it.
This mall has a Beautiful clean well constructed interior . Visually inviting . Lots of stores although it’s kind of sad most of the big anchors left like JC Penny and Macy’s .,
We went here in March 2022 during a nice freeze. The first floor Zion Market has some good food vendors. The second floor was slowly adding businesses. I saw a pool hall, bar, escape room, and some small restaurants. It is amazing what you can do with an old Sears.
I remember when this mall first opened up, in fact my little sister was on the cover of the Lewisville Paper for the first 4th of July show at Vista Ridge. I was surprised when in the end Golden Triangle Mall is out living Vista Ridge. Though Golden Triangle maybe turning it's self inside out. Recently a crime drama TV Show called Cruel Summer filmed at the mall as well as Interskate the local roller rink. The show takes place during different times during the 90s so it was fitting. From the movie Logan's Run I think the only mall left standing that was in that movie was Town East Mall in Mesquite, some one correct me if I'm wrong. I don't think North Park was used, and Big Town and Valley View have been knocked down.
The success of indoor malls is similar to drive-in movie theaters. There came a point in time where there were way too many of them. They became majorly downsized when the demand for them dropped, but surviving ones are actually doing reasonably well in readjusting to today's demand.
i have lived in and around lewisville since the mid 80s, and really looked forward to this mall opening. then, other malls opened. then, we find ourselves in the time of amazon, the brick and mortar killer. i don't go to this mall now, too much sadness. not only in the demise of this particular mall, but in the loss of mall culture of the 80s/90s. it is mostly all gone now, the world has moved on, and we just have the memories left.

Thanks and Keep em Rolling!
Very Wonderful Video!!!! I Love the Fountain!!!!! F+L, Corey
Very modern designs. Thanks for sharing this story.
That's a pretty mall. I hope it beats the odds of redevelopment :/
I remember being at this mall within the first week of it opening back in October '89. There was a young lady handing out shopping bags.
I like this mall with its 2 levels and center court with the sky light, plants and palms along with the fountain!

Maybe the owners of the space occupied by sears could buy the entire mall.

Great vid! Were you approached by mall security when filming there? They kicked me out for filming
What about the former J penny & macys? 10:15
Been there, it’s gone.
I don't even like the fountain in this mall. It's just very plain and bland. Wow, I think this might be a first for me.
It's a nice mall, it's easy on the eyes. I know it's a long shot, but did you ever get any footage of Valley View Center when it was still standing?
Already gone by the time I came through
Hi 👍✌️
I like the outside of this mall and I also like the palm trees and the flags. Other than that I don't like this mall.🙁
Cute
