    Reminds me of the late '70s when we installed this type of sleeve in the Vega blocks, when the coolant sides were badly corroded. The std. sleeve was a pre-finished flanged sleeve. All manual machining in those days.

    Can you do the same with cast iron block ?like the1990 taurus sho 3.0 block?

    • @wolverineengines6156
      @wolverineengines6156  6 месяцев назад +1

      No cast iron wouldn't be cost effective as it would add a ton of time!

    Very good video!
    Do you have one or are you going to make one machining for dry sleeves?
    What is the cost for a dry sleeve setup?
    Where are you located?

    • @wolverineengines6156
      @wolverineengines6156  Год назад +1

      Thank you! I haven't done a dry sleeve video yet but I am planning on it. The dry sleeve runs about $2500 with the sleeves and using your block (we can also provide the block). We are in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

      @@wolverineengines6156 I'm looking for an LS7 block for my 09 z06,
      My engine is still good,but looking for a back up.
      Its a daily but I want to autocross it once to three times a month.
      What would the cost be for the dry vs wet if I provided the block.

    Why 5.3 block in particular? And can all 5.3 block be dry sleeved?

    • @wolverineengines6156
      @wolverineengines6156  7 месяцев назад +1

      5.3L is the cheapest. Any aluminum LS block can be done.

    Question sir, does Darton dry sleeve require a .002 above deck protrusion or it should be milled true to the deck?

    • @wolverineengines6156
      @wolverineengines6156  9 месяцев назад +1

      Flush for 90 percent of applications. Much easier to get right. I have left them up .002" for high boost applications but it's hard to keep everything even and parallel.

    • @wolverineengines6156
      @wolverineengines6156  9 месяцев назад

      The ls1 / ls6 blocks are the same process but are not prefered due to a shorter sleeve that needs to be used.
