    Awesome video thank you. Can you still polycrylic over laminated wraps for added protection and to help the edges stick? Or will it be too built up and soft if you do?

    I just bought a set of wrapped boards that came with four real corn bags. I’ve noticed that the boards are FAST. I mean if you’re not putting some serious air under the bags, they’ll slide right off the board. Add the starch powder from the corn and the bags are unstoppable. Anyone know if it’s a board issue? Bag issue? Or both?

      Yep! Time to up your bag game! They make bags that have multiple speeds

      @@Gameondad6 awesome! So the “pro” bags… what are they filled with and will they leave that powder on the board. (Probably a stupid question, but I’m new to the game and know next to nothing about it)

      Make sure board is axactly 12". Any lower will build more speed. Also, corn filled bags give out a dust over time & can make it slide. I don't use corn. I use plastic resin filled bags. Which are also ACL regulation bags. Bags are duck cloth/ microfiber.

      @@LeskoBrandon2x I really liked corn when I got into the sport, but after being left out in the weather, or eaten by squirrels, I switched to pro bags. They have a synthetic filling that won't degrade or create dust. The dust causes the corn bags to go faster....think shuffle board. And you'll minimally want a fast and slow set. Oh, and if the squirrels already think there's a surprise in the bag, they will eat your pro bags, so keep them stored when not in use. A pellet gun also does wonders to keep your bags safe.

    Why don’t you with the extra wrap when you cut the hole , wrap it under the hole , instead of cutting right the size of hole ??

      I actually did that in the beginning. It doesn't last. We use a flat surface vinyl. It doesn't handle extreme bends well.

      Ours are approximately 4". Honestly, when I made the jig, I grabbed a fresh roll of painters tape and used that as a reference

    How are your wraps?

    Don't you have to add a clear coat to the edges to keep it from peeling off?

    • @Gameondad6
      @Gameondad6  7 месяцев назад +1

      If you trim the wrap to run about 1/8" off the edge, you'll be fine. We don't seal the edges and haven't had any issues as long as they are laminated

    I know you may not need to put the poly over the laminated version, but is it better to do so? If you were building them for yourself would you put poly on it at as a finishing step?

    • @Gameondad6

      I would not recommend putting any sealant over the laminate. I personally only have laminate on my boards as well

      If they are slow how do you make them slide faster?

    Can a vinyl wrap be used on an already painted/finished corn hole set? I'm assuming that it would be no different than the water-based sealant?

    • @Gameondad6
      @Gameondad6  7 месяцев назад

      You're correct! As long as the top is smooth, should be good. Just make sure the vinyl is gray backed to hide the design underneath

    a couple of questions: do you always put down a layer of poly before putting down your wraps? I've seen others put wraps down on plain wood. why might someone use laminated wrap vs. non-laminayed? Are those cutting tools $50 each or for the pair?

    • @Gameondad6

      www.gopdesign.com for the tools
      Either put a layer down ( or two) or use UV finished plywood. I do not recommend applying the vinyl to bare wood.
      Laminated wraps are easier and more durable. It saved you time and money

    Do you have a source for the trimming tools you used? It looks as though the top hangs over the frame a bit. I haven't seen boards of that design before. Is that the new "standard" for boards? Thanks in advance!

      We offer the trimming tools for sale on our website. The are all made locally. We switched to the overhang design a few years ago. Not everyone does it that way, but for various reasons, it works best for us!
