Update: Apparently I didn't play this as a f2p player because my planetside 2 subscription carries over to this, I didn't realize until reading the comments, sorry guys
btw Peon, you didn't play this as a free-to-play :P your membership from Planetside 2 carries over to this game as well, a proper free-to-play doesn't have all powers unlockt, or that much bag space :P
I believe NCsoft was actually on the up in profit as well when they shut down CoH. They literally said, nope we don't want money today... My inclination is that, ownership didn't realize how big the Superhero genre is in other parts of the world like Europe, North and South America. NCsoft is a Korean company and they usually focus on Fantasy and Anime styled games. City of Heroes also had poor marketing. I've actually never seen a city of heroes commerical, only ever seen any on websites and a little known show called "Chuck". I always smiled when i saw it in the background... The mass audience probably never knew this game existed until it was too late. I've always heard people discussing the game like the show Firefly. Many wish they knew about it and played it. It was easily the greatest Superhero game ever created.
started this around late 2012 when it went free. played somewhat "hardcore" in terms of spent time for 1.5 yrs. its the only mmo I've ever liked, the dynamic battle system, with mouse click combos, is the best
Fun first impression on a game that I have played since 2011 - you missed so much, but hey its a first imp. right :-) For me personally, what kept me in the game was for sure the endless "styling" of your toon. I don't understand why every single game isn’t copying this feature, as it is so epic and great fun. please let me be an individual toon. even way back in 2006 with WoW I didn’t like you where force to look like the style of your current equipped gear.. so hallelujah DCUO changed that. Keep the cool vids coming... -cheers
Thanks for checking out the game, LP. It was an entertaining video, and I really think you're on the right track with your first impression pros and cons lists. Sorry Superheroes aren't your thing, but perhaps we'll cross paths in Planetside 2. Skol!
Well, you skipped a few features in the game: First of all; the transmog system also allows you to change your colour sketch, ingame and free. Second; the thing with PvP non-level cap, is that you use a premade character (Robin for F2P players at first, then Batman, Superman, Joker, and so) so that you don't need to use your actual character for playing. When you queued was for...Arena, I think? In which you use your character, with it's level and so. Third; the game is not only about Gotham, but about Metropolis too. You acces to that city through the spaceship thing. Actually, it's your starting zone if you chose Superman or Wonderwoman as mentor.
+Rakeem Bell In the Interface menu, in the "style" window, you can select any armour style that you've equipped at least once, for each armour slot, and any other slots like "face", "hair" or "emblem". And in that same window, look for an option like "colour" or "palette", where you can choose the main, secondary, and minor colours applied to your gear.
I loved the game myself, had tons of fun, played f2p for a year then subbed for a year and a half. Now while this isn't the most restrictive or pushy f2p experience out there, what it does do is make 15 a month sound pretty good. There are cash caps, content locks, 3 rows of bagspace, a two character slot limit, and cash-only keys for the endgame boxes that can grant rare styles of clothing and other high value stuff. Literally all of that goes away when you sub, and all new content that comes out is yours as well. Very much worth the sub fee at the time if you were into the lore, or the superhero fantasy in general. When I left early last year, the endgame Combat Proficiency mechanic had completely homogenized combat across all powersets, and the top leagues were only recruiting ppl that used that one combo over and over again. Ongoing power balance had become a predictable joke where newly released powersets were vastly op until the devs noticed that 70 percent of max levels were in that powerset, and then it would be needed to the ground and whichever powerset had the fewest users was then made op. By the time enough ppl had swapped to that one, it was time to release the newest powerset, and the horrible ouroboros-like cycle would continue. It may well have been sorted out in the wake of the handover to Daybreak, I've not been back since.
I haven't played a lot of this game, but what I really liked was that you can get certain "signature abilities" of heroes and villains that cost you a special form of points. Like you can get Superman's heat vision, or Bane's "venom buff". It helps to make your character even more "yours", while also giving you a sense of "But I'm also a bit like my favorite hero/villain, because I know this move"
Hey there Peon, new subscriber to your channel, (You're blade and soul video was the first I saw) I must say your channel is the first that I watch and when you make arguments or complaints about the game that I personally love, I'm not just up in arms about it because they are fair points, Keep up the good work, and yeah in this game you don't get some powers unless your premium and some weapon styles are also locked, which feels unfair sometimes as its like having a class not playable just because you're a free to play member and that class seems so much better then what is available to you, besides that DCUO is a great game
Thanks very much for an excellent review! I've just downloaded this to try on the PS4 (yes, I'm late to a lot of games, including RUclips channels.... I only have a few videos LOL) and wanted to catch a review before trying this game myself. You were very thorough and gave me every detail I needed. Many kudos your way. I've subscribed for more, perhaps you'll show me more games I'll end up loving.
Hey Peon, thanks for all the great vids, I personally really enjoy how well you summarize your experience near the end of the video as well as your reactions. I don't really have any criticisms and think that you've really nailed this series. Thanks again!
The reason why those quests didn't pop up on your map was for these reasons: 1. Midnight Masquerade was the Halloween event that you have to que up for in the "On Duty" tab in the start menu located in "events" 2. When you first mentioned it at 4:48 you didn't have the quest tracked since it said "Press J to access your Journal and select a mission to track" 3. You also could've had a quest for Arena which is PvP. Back when dc first came out you used to only PvP with people around your level bracket. Legends PvP is when you pick a "Legend" character for example: Batman, Superman, Arkillo etc. 4. Your quest also could've been located in Metropolis/Hall of Doom(Villains)/Watchtower(Heroes) and you were in Gotham at the time Another thing, when you help someone kill a mob in DCUO during the same quest as you, you both share the kill
Awesome you did this, made me go back to check out the game and now I can run it on this pc thanks to their really low resolution options. Loving the game all over again.
I really liked this game. I still do. But i lost my account and i'm bored to do the same stuff again. I love the way my character looked a lot like Spawn. I will miss it's freedom. And the metropolis feeling considering every mmorpg they release nowdays is just village-castle-farm-mountain repeat.
From lvl 3-30 is actually a story driven tutorial because the game is massive and the real progression doesn't until lvl 30+. Also is you want to center the hub just go to the U.I. in your in game settings and center ur screen scale. The max lvl until the next DLC is lvl 149 - 150 in your style option if you select lock all it will keep you Toon looking the way you are until you manually change it yourself!
I have played this game for about 1 and a half year, I made a lot of chars to max level, the issue is, after max level, for future content you have to do tons of dungeon/raid grinding for gear until end game content, as it's very challenging. I think this game is fun for about 3 months after that it's all about repeating itself which is getting boring I have payed to game for light powers and I don't regret a bit, it was worth it, after seeing you I kinda want to play it but I don't want to turn back to tons of grinding thingy...(edit)-----> Community WAS friendly, later it became toxic. And PvP system is really not fair like WoW, if you have gear you need tons of practice
I feel like you must've answered this before but... what kind of CPU are you using? MMOs don't typically run smoothly (bad graphics or not) if you have a terrible CPU -- and my ancient i3 2100 is a living testament to that.
The costume customization is better on champions but I feel like the class system is real weird and I like being able to mix and match powers and fighting style in dcuo
I Love your format, Grats. Can i suggest you branch out into single player games maintaining the same format as your first impression videos. Well done
Quick question Peon: how do you get your obs to make such smooth video? High bitrae? You don't seem to have a grainy display like many get when trying to screen capture
The game begins at level 30 when combat rating counts. Location is easy to find if you double click the mission. In pvp there are 2 separate things, pvp legends, with legends characters, like Superman, Green Lantern, Batman, Joker, Lex Luthor and so on, and If you win enough matches, you'll get marks to buy equipment for pvp arenas.
Hey, as a person who's played DCUO for quite a while, maybe I could clear some things up for you. For starters, you can actually lock your style tab so when you equip any piece of armor, it doesn't override your currently equipped style but instead, allows you to change your style manually. You already realized this, but you're playing on the Legendary membership version of the game. F2P membership only allows for the first 6 powers, (still good powers.) all the weapons except shield, and all the movement except Skimming. As well as no DLC. (Obviously) The mission you had a hard time finding was a seasonal event mission. (Halloween) You had to queue up for the Midnight Masquerade the same way you did for Area 51. On that note, the "dungeons" which are called Alerts for 4-player, and Raids for 8-player, all have different levels to them. You can queue up for ALL of them at higher levels, with more unlocking as your level increases. Cont.
The current level cap is Level 30 CR 168 (Combat Rating) Once you hit level 30, your level is determined by the levels of your equipped armor. Put better armor on, your CR raises, take it off, your CR drops. (They recently changed it so your CR displays where your level is displayed.) There are currently 7 tiers to your leveling system. Once you hit level 30, you are tier 1. The first 8-player content unlocks at tier. 2. (CR 42+) With a F2P membership (or without DLC) your level maxes at about Tier 3. Around a CR of 75-80. ALL powers work differently, ALL powers have a damage role, but they all have a secondary role. Tank, Healer, or Controller. Tank and Healer are self-explanatory, but Controllers are a little different, Controllers are tasked with restoring the group's power while de-buffing enemies. Cont. again…
+Caunertron PvP is a little hard to explain. It's completely separated from PvE in that it requires completely separate armor. PvP CR maxes at 100. The queue-able PvP content is NOT leveled. Players became furious when they tried that. You are still buffed to a certain point though, so you are not 1-shot by people. (PvP armor stats, even low level stuff, is in the thousands) The game relies on a rock, paper, scissors type combat system. You have "Interrupt", (hold melee) "Block", (block) and "Block breaker" (hold range) Block beats interrupt, Interrupt beats Block breaker, and Block breaker beats block. Your role will do this too. (PvP only) Tank beats Controller, Controller beats Healer, and Healer beats Tank. All beat Damage, an Damage beats all. I might be missing a LOT, but none of it comes to mind right now. No TL;DR sorry.
+Caunertron Oh, one thing that comes to mind is that they recently merged ALL the servers together. So you can now play with people on PC, PS4, and XBOX One all at the same time.
Other Info: PvP in open world is entirely optional, but it feels good beating up level 20 players as a level 14, hue hue. level progression is really fast so long as you do a majority of the quests that show up, you can reach end game in 24 hours, but that doesnt matter cause you'll probably rush it and miss out on alot of skillpoints that you can still get at later times. skillpoints allow you to unlock new weapons and unlocking new weapons and combos for those weapons will improve stats such as damage and critical attack chance, even defense and toughness. PvP stats are entirely different and separated from the stats used for PvE, so you can focus on what you want to do upon hitting max level 30. Similar to Destiny, DCUO uses a light system, but simplified. You have combat rating level on gear. The overall average of those numbers would indicate what your combat level is and that number displays as your level on alerts and raids as well as pvp. It is wise to always change the gear with the lowest cr (combat rating) when buying or changing gear in general, but you wont worry about that till level 30! it's also very simple so dont be confused. questing is just like dc comics, its as if you're batman; you go to one location to look for clues and information and you're attacked, you then got what you were lookin for and proceed to the next phases of your investigation until you reach the last location or instance of the boss, beat them and get even more exp. like the bane mission. there are 3 or 4 missions you gotta complete before you actually reach to bane plus the optional.side missions that give you feats. feats or trophies whatever you call them, will give you skill points. every 100 feat points gets you 1 skill point. feats range anywhere from 5 points being the lowest to either 50 -100 being the highest. im not entirely sure.. i think there are some.exploratiin feats that give you like 100 maybe more. its been a minutes. Getting gear used to be easier but people exploited walking into higher level dungeons at lower combat ratings. But doing missions and certain instance locations gets you gear from drops and other marks that can be used to purchase tiered gear from the merchants , so take ya time and keep playing with friends, you'll get there.
I played DCUO and it was great, I'm a fan of DC comics so it would make sense for me to love it. The game gets more exciting after you level up. The only bad thing is that I really hated is that you cannot skip the starting quest in the ship and they were all same quests
its just the armor you get at lvl 30 determines the higher. your combat rating gets and your combat rating determines the things you can do and not do depending on how high it is,so you want get 1 shot by monsters, and that mission was actually on the on duty menu and it was a seasonal event, but that's a roadmap now that you have more info I hope you'll play again
If you're really close to another player as they complete an objective you'll complete it too (does not apply to defeating enemies unless you deal a good amount of damage)
vsync prevents problems with modern day rendering in games. it's synchronises your games frames to a stable ratio of your monitors native refresh. basically your vsync did its job. often the surgery is worse than the disease with Vsync and it should be off by default I feel. plz don't get on the 60fps hype train. it has a negative effect on the industry imo. keep up the great vids :D
Best part is the subscription model for this game. You get this, planetside 2, eq, eq2 and dragons profit all when you sub to one of those games. This game was not meant for a mouse and keyboard though, feels a lot better with a controller
yh i played this game fro 2 years. If you want to start its hard because once you reach level 30, you start playing at a higher level. Long story short it gets to a point where you need to start paying for DLC to get further into the game. But its a really fun game especially if you get into a nice league with nice people who play. It helps to have friends because solo play is practically impossible.
i know this was years ago but the reason it dident tell you where to go is because you wernt tracking the quest and you where just looking at the info and if your press track it starts that quest and tells you where to go
There is no level scaling in dungeons because ~100% of them are soloable. There are 2 types of PvP. - (Legends) Which has level scaling but you can only play as Batman, Robin, Catwoman etc. - (Normal) Which doesn't have level scaling but you can play with your current hero. (Current gear, talents etc.
the level cap is 30, but it has a very cool system to where at level 30 you stop erning power points, but you keep earning skill points after you get past level 30. there is not a pve level cap, but 30 is pvp cap. hope this was helpful!
Peon, what are your thoughts on the gtx 960? Have you ever had it and how did you think it performed? Great video by the way, i can't wait until your videos come out and of the 140 subs i have (not kidding i just checked in a new tab) you are my favourite. I have watched your vids for about a year as i started watching a lot of machinima channels and other wow videos and found you! I have now started going on twitch so hopefully i will see you there - SlugishHedgheog is my name on there :)
something to keep in mind, I do believe this game was designed to be played on console. so that would explain why there is no window borderless mode option or customizable UI. I played it when it first came out on both console and PC, and playing it on console was a far more enjoyable experience. it was a similar feeling to playing Dragon Age 2 on PC vs the console.
You weren't ticking the track box on the quests so of course they weren't being tracked. You gotta click on them twice and then you see a little yellow X. That's how you track them. This is an old video by now but I'm just saying this for anybody that may be interested in the game and also weirdly haven't figured this out.
It can look really good, check you resolution from what i saw it looks nothing like in other videos. The quests you don't see are dungeon que-ups and if not press j for journal and track the quest :). You get a HUGE buff in PVP at all levels to get to a certain scale. About pve: There is low lvl pve that you can do as low lvl and anyone can do it even high lvls there is no scaling to it, and there are high level instances that the stronger players do.
Also note that the game was designed with Consoles in mind, which is why you have issues with the UI. Playing the game on a controller is surprisingly fun.
My friend talked me into getting this on the Playstation when WoW was getting boring at the time. He wanted to move us to a new game to role-play in. It was great, until we tried to talk in combat. He went back to Wow.
Huh, it's kind of cool seeing the different mindsets of people when they make their characters. You "of course" pick a male character every time, is there a specific reason for this? Do you do RP and actually project yourself onto your character? Would it somehow feel "weird" to play a female character in an MMO for you, or is there another reason you prefer males? I guess it's not fair if I don't answer first though. I play male characters in first person games and extremely story heavy RPG's with a lot of player choice that basically allow me to BE the character, but in 3rd person more action heavy games (especially MMO's) I generally prefer to play female characters entirely because I figure if I am going to spend hours/days/weeks/months on end staring at someone's ass I'd rather have it be a hot piece of ass :P. Also I have noticed I get treated better all around when playing a female character (though only if they see your character, general/trade chat doesn't give me this benefit). If I was to RP I would definitely be all male all the time though.
+Raging Golden Eagle Nice! I like playing as male mostly because I feel wrong playing as a female character because I am not a female xD sounds stupid but no other reason
Why do people like you feel the need to complain about everything and nit pick. Who cares that he went a male and not a female, stop looking to be offended.
Lewis Monk WTF? I just asked him what his reasoning is cause I am curious and was hoping for an interesting discussion, and you call it "complaining and nitpicking"? You ain't the sharpest spoon in the knife drawer are you? I suggest you stop posting before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.
Hey Peon, I was wondering. What mmo is your favorite from the ones you have reviewed so far? This may have been answered already, and I apologize if it has!
the quest thing not appearing on the map is because there are 2 maps , gotham and metropolis and basically when you are in gotham and the quest doesn't appear on your map is because the quest is in metropolis
+TheLazyPeon With the PVP, part of the problem most likely was there is separate pve and pvp gear, also the game is designed to be basically a tutorial to character level 30, then you are leveling up with gear. and like I said there is separate gear for pvp and pve. Also the times when the quest location wasn't showing up on your map is when it is in another city ie you are in gotham and the quest is in metropolis. OR the quest is actually for a alert or operation (dungeon) also those first missions you were doing were the halloween seasonal event and not your actual starting mission =)
Dude, I can understand the noob faze of dcuo, we've all been there but the Noobiness of anything related to the comics or superheroes in general was freaking hilarious. I nearly died laughing at you reacting to basic comic knowledge like it made no sense and was just created yesterday.
you know that to find your quest you just had to click J? you just have to read the tutorial dude it was so painful to see you saying those thing even though the game have a well explain tutorial...
Fair review, but dissappointed you didn't review the Legends system which adds an entirely new PvE and PvP experience. Especially PvP which scales everyone. You also didn't touch on the feat system which is what really makes this game unique. I do realize this is a first impressions, but those two things are available from the beginning of the game.
for anyone still wondering about the level cap it is lvl 30 from experiance then it will start displaying your gear level insted so some of the ppl he was playing with were in teir 3 or 4 raid gear ie have a lvl 30 fire hero same as him that displayes at lvl 47 due to the teir 1 and 2 mixed of gear i'm using on him. also the all those achevment points you get are importent ever 100 you get one more skill point to put into your weapon or travel power (not your super powers those cap at 15) so always look to pick up more of those.
I must admit I miss playing this game. Running the harder raids with a good squad that knows how to play was great. But yeah the community is toxic because too many of them are immature brats, plus too many spam bots. Chat ended up being either spambot posts, arguments between ignorant gamers, or the regular players using a bunch of confusing acronyms looking for others to team up with. I loved the action (especially once you figure out combos) and the physics engine in this game (just feels awesome picking up a bus and flying thru the air before tossing it at enemies), but there was very limited exploration and maps were repetitive, as were the raids. I wasn't a big fan of the low lvl cap + modding leveling style they went with, and the most annoying thing for me was going from a paid sub to a free account where they but ridiculous money limit and inventory space caps! I was a hoarder so seeing so many of my items disappear from my inventory pissed me off.
this is just the beginning after you hit lvl cap 30 you then start to see the pay to win aspects first of all after a while you will see that some dungeons are locked of because you don't have a subscription after that you can't even reach max rank 157 and two of the best powers where locked of because you didn't buy the subscription but and recently they made it so if your a free player you have longer loading times compared to people with subs and premium accounts but this game is still awesome and you don't have to put that much time into the game to get a good level and all the powers are creative and the clothing items are superbly amazing
Legends PvP is by far the most fair, and fun, PvPing as all the legends are very balanced, and aren't based on your level. Regular arena PvP is a nightmare.
I'm pretty sure you made a second vid on this game, but i can't find the vid? I'm 100% sure you did, and that's when you find out you can go to Metropolis, but i can't find it.
Well I play this game on PS4 and think its a lot better than pc, but that's just my opinion. The lvl cap at the moment for PVE is 142 and for PVP is 100. And for any mission that is not in your journal, like the Midnight Masquerade, you have to go to On Duty and que up for it.
I play on my PS3 I have had fun with the game over the years the real content as always was the things you get to do at level cap. As for scaling that didn't bother me because a skilled lower level player can easily beat a higher level player if they know what they are doing I have done it several times. I also have found more excitement in the game when you play with your friends in groups.
Peon, the base engine (Unreal 3 which DCUO uses) doesn't even allow you to force the window to go borderless with a third-party app like Borderless Gaming. The only Unreal Engine 3 game I know that works fine with BG is Mass Effect and that's it.
Nice review! But you didn't play enough yet to get the full experience for a full review. Once you reach level 30 the way of playing the game changes allot (to be honest I didn't umderstand it at first). I have been playing the game since beta, but stop playing last year. And if you would ever play this game again and reach level 30 you would notice that there is a class added too standerd the holy three (tank, healer, dps) the controller he/she manages the mana of the party. (The game does allot season based events) (The legend pvp mode is balanced normal pvp isn't) So would love to see you play this game again and experience these mechanics! Keep up to good work!
Update: Apparently I didn't play this as a f2p player because my planetside 2 subscription carries over to this, I didn't realize until reading the comments, sorry guys
+TheLazyPeon Can you tell us what will be the next game you'll play?
+Dominator Dualshock AION
PvP is scaled its just its meant for Ppl lvl 30+ but your a firetank, so if you have the right powers you can win
PvP is scaled its just its meant for Ppl lvl 30+ but your a firetank, so if you have the right powers you can win

btw Peon, you didn't play this as a free-to-play :P your membership from Planetside 2 carries over to this game as well, a proper free-to-play doesn't have all powers unlockt, or that much bag space :P
+Zerashadow Oh wow, I had no idea
TheLazyPeon
Just noticed now when i started playing myself, was hoping to get a Light character going, but might be a later project then :P

+Fevir My brother! Fun to see you partaking of other youtubers
+Fevir It looks weird here, it knows how to look beautifull still. It looks very different on youtube.
+Fevir same here man. hits home but when i think of actually going back to it... meh...
Never could understand why NCSoft cancelled City of Heroes/Villains when DC and Marvel Online show that people enjoy playing super heroes/villains.
It was easily the greatest Superhero game ever created.
i played DCUO many years ago and the community was friendly, its sad to hear things changed :(
Yeah...
+Akiorah LOL! Ikr! It used to be sorta... friendly xD But now it's so toxic lol. 'Send scrim'
+Akiorah Probably because the players became so pissed with all the publisher bullshit :P
+Jer DCUO yea tottaly man! btw send scrimm
The Xbox players found out about the game and got it.
started this around late 2012 when it went free. played somewhat "hardcore" in terms of spent time for 1.5 yrs. its the only mmo I've ever liked, the dynamic battle system, with mouse click combos, is the best
I was gonna post something really long but I'm just gonna say this.
You should play it a little more. I think *YOU* would enjoy it a lot.
Kreachure 2 years later I’m downloading it now
Kpop Trash lol this game has gone down a lot compared to what it used to be, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it since you just started.
Kpop Trash Ler Pray Doh yea
Fun first impression on a game that I have played since 2011 - you missed so much, but hey its a first imp. right :-)
For me personally, what kept me in the game was for sure the endless "styling" of your toon.
-cheers
the map is great, u made a mistake, u need to press J and track the quest, that way the quest area will be visible :)
Thanks for checking out the game, LP. It was an entertaining video, and I really think you're on the right track with your first impression pros and cons lists. Sorry Superheroes aren't your thing, but perhaps we'll cross paths in Planetside 2. Skol!
Well, you skipped a few features in the game:
First of all; the transmog system also allows you to change your colour sketch, ingame and free.
Actually, it's your starting zone if you chose Superman or Wonderwoman as mentor.
what is the transmog system. and how do u do it
+Rakeem Bell In the Interface menu, in the "style" window, you can select any armour style that you've equipped at least once, for each armour slot, and any other slots like "face", "hair" or "emblem". And in that same window, look for an option like "colour" or "palette", where you can choose the main, secondary, and minor colours applied to your gear.
I'm getting addicted to this channel, I wish he could upload more often
it had a movent patch later on, so the movement is much better
its a vsync thing, lowers frame rate but u move and rotate better
It hurts to watch him play this without him knowing anything about the backstory of the characters, and that he can travel to Metropolis aswell.
Hey there Peon, new subscriber to your channel, (You're blade and soul video was the first I saw)
I must say your channel is the first that I watch and when you make arguments or complaints about the game that I personally love, I'm not just up in arms about it because they are fair points, Keep up the good work, and yeah in this game you don't get some powers unless your premium and some weapon styles are also locked, which feels unfair sometimes as its like having a class not playable just because you're a free to play member and that class seems so much better then what is available to you, besides that DCUO is a great game
The reason why those quests didn't pop up on your map was for these reasons:
1. Midnight Masquerade was the Halloween event that you have to que up for in the "On Duty" tab in the start menu located in "events"
2. When you first mentioned it at 4:48 you didn't have the quest tracked since it said "Press J to access your Journal and select a mission to track"
3. You also could've had a quest for Arena which is PvP. Back when dc first came out you used to only PvP with people around your level bracket. Legends PvP is when you pick a "Legend" character for example: Batman, Superman, Arkillo etc.
4. Your quest also could've been located in Metropolis/Hall of Doom(Villains)/Watchtower(Heroes) and you were in Gotham at the time
Another thing, when you help someone kill a mob in DCUO during the same quest as you, you both share the kill
Awesome you did this, made me go back to check out the game and now I can run it on this pc thanks to their really low resolution options. Loving the game all over again.
Keep the series up. It is so cool to see you play stuff.
And PvP system is really not fair like WoW, if you have gear you need tons of practice
um it's an mmo
I feel like you must've answered this before but... what kind of CPU are you using? MMOs don't typically run smoothly (bad graphics or not) if you have a terrible CPU -- and my ancient i3 2100 is a living testament to that.
"This customization is absolutely insane." You should really try Champions Online...
The costume customization is better on champions but I feel like the class system is real weird and I like being able to mix and match powers and fighting style in dcuo
The game is one of the best I have ever played I don't care that you don't like it :) and try it on console it's better there I played it on both
What's your name?
+FiveStar Dcuo real life: Felix, In game (villain) Kultra (hero) Kultrus
(Obviously)
The mission you had a hard time finding was a seasonal event mission.
(They recently changed it so your CR displays where your level is displayed.)
There are currently 7 tiers to your leveling system.
Cont. again…
+Caunertron
PvP is a little hard to explain.
Lol endgame in 1 day. By endgame I hope you don't mean 172 CR.
This game used to me awesome, they killed the combat system and SOE doesn't know anything about managing an mmo.
Think it's about time you did Scarlet Blade. I'm sure you'll enjoy what it has to offer!!
DCUO has a Free skip to 255CR this month.
you should play Everquest II it's an amazing game and would love to hear your opinion
New camera looked really nice! Another good video peon!
Also collecting all the investigation pieces (green exclamation points) per quest line reward you a new transmog. The blue ones do as well.
I played DCUO and it was great, I'm a fan of DC comics so it would make sense for me to love it. The game gets more exciting after you level up. The only bad thing is that I really hated is that you cannot skip the starting quest in the ship and they were all same quests
I didn't want to like TLP, but he's too good and informative with good speed of info. Keep up the work, Gaunt.
its just the armor you get at lvl 30 determines the higher. your combat rating gets and your combat rating determines the things you can do and not do depending on how high it is,so you want get 1 shot by monsters, and that mission was actually on the on duty menu and it was a seasonal event, but that's a roadmap now that you have more info I hope you'll play again
If you're really close to another player as they complete an objective you'll complete it too (does not apply to defeating enemies unless you deal a good amount of damage)
Did you buy all the extra content for the powers unlock? Because I know some powers are locked behind DLC/Expansions.
vsync prevents problems with modern day rendering in games. it's synchronises your games frames to a stable ratio of your monitors native refresh. basically your vsync did its job. often the surgery is worse than the disease with Vsync and it should be off by default I feel. plz don't get on the 60fps hype train. it has a negative effect on the industry imo. keep up the great vids :D
Hey LazyPeon are you going to renew your review of Blade&Soul when it full releases in the west or during the closed beta?
i know this was years ago but the reason it dident tell you where to go is because you wernt tracking the quest and you where just looking at the info and if your press track it starts that quest and tells you where to go
There is no level scaling in dungeons because ~100% of them are soloable.
There are 2 types of PvP.
- (Legends) Which has level scaling but you can only play as Batman, Robin, Catwoman etc.
- (Normal) Which doesn't have level scaling but you can play with your current hero. (Current gear, talents etc.
quest tracking is the green beam of light :)
"A man's wife is his life, Mr. UPS Man."
Man did I love this game back in the day...
this is much better than marvel heroes right?
It's worst then you have to pay
no
yes it is
Completely different games dude, Marvel Heroes is very good.
They both have their own charm. But Marvel Heroes has Squirrel Girl.
Watching you play this 6 years from now I am like wow
the level cap is 30, but it has a very cool system to where at level 30 you stop erning power points, but you keep earning skill points after you get past level 30. there is not a pve level cap, but 30 is pvp cap. hope this was helpful!
Can’t wait to see ya try this for a 2021 impression 👌
You weren't ticking the track box on the quests so of course they weren't being tracked. You gotta click on them twice and then you see a little yellow X. That's how you track them. This is an old video by now but I'm just saying this for anybody that may be interested in the game and also weirdly haven't figured this out.
GREAT VID BRO! KEEP IT UP! I subscribed and liked just for you bro keep making more vids
I just found out that Champions Online is still going strong.
Might you wanna check that too?
It's also a Superhero MMORPG.
I pefer dcuo
I'm trying DCUO at the moment.
It's not bad, but it's still too soon for a comparison.
+OtakuXCore That's, like, your opinion man.
Also note that the game was designed with Consoles in mind, which is why you have issues with the UI. Playing the game on a controller is surprisingly fun.
are you playing with a subscription, or is all the powers unlocked nowdays? if so i might go back to the game and play a Light Construct character.
My friend talked me into getting this on the Playstation when WoW was getting boring at the time. He wanted to move us to a new game to role-play in. It was great, until we tried to talk in combat. He went back to Wow.
You know I never subbed to you but I always stumble across your videos hahaha
+Raging Golden Eagle Calm down nerd.
+Raging Golden Eagle Nice! I like playing as male mostly because I feel wrong playing as a female character because I am not a female xD sounds stupid but no other reason
I play a female character because I'm so used to playing male is kind of boring and expand my role playing by just playing a female character :)
Why do people like you feel the need to complain about everything and nit pick. Who cares that he went a male and not a female, stop looking to be offended.
Lewis Monk
WTF? I just asked him what his reasoning is cause I am curious and was hoping for an interesting discussion, and you call it "complaining and nitpicking"? You ain't the sharpest spoon in the knife drawer are you? I suggest you stop posting before you make an even bigger fool of yourself.
The quest tracking works by double clicking on the quests TRACKS IT so you can find it easily.
LazyPeon uhmm may i ask what is your graphics card and RAM?
Hey Peon, I was wondering. What mmo is your favorite from the ones you have reviewed so far? This may have been answered already, and I apologize if it has!
Wait, can you actually expand the action bars? Cuz I'm playing on PS3 and I have no fcking clue
No play the fucking game and learn.
+ObamaTookMyDogg Someone's pissed for no reason!
the quest thing not appearing on the map is because there are 2 maps , gotham and metropolis and basically when you are in gotham and the quest doesn't appear on your map is because the quest is in metropolis
Good video 👍
Dc Comics and knowledge I mean
Peon, please try Pirate101. That game is stunning from all points of view. I'd suggest you try Wizard101 as well, albeit it's a bit outdated(2008).
you know that to find your quest you just had to click J? you just have to read the tutorial dude it was so painful to see you saying those thing even though the game have a well explain tutorial...
I played this when it launched. Best combat system for year 2011.
your "is it worth playing?" videos get better all the time!!
Should have named your toon PeonFire cause it's funny... heh... hehe...
Have u thought about coming back to this. After the stats revamp?
That transmog system is exactly same as Wildstar now.
Wildstar got insane improvements when it went F2P
this is just the beginning after you hit lvl cap 30 you then start to see the pay to win aspects first of all after a while you will see that some dungeons are locked of because you don't have a subscription after that you can't even reach max rank 157 and two of the best powers where locked of because you didn't buy the subscription but and recently they made it so if your a free player you have longer loading times compared to people with subs and premium accounts
but this game is still awesome and you don't have to put that much time into the game to get a good level and all the powers are creative and the clothing items are superbly amazing
The reason you were getting stomped in PvP is because you had PvE gear equipped. PvP and PvE gear greatly impact how good you are in either modes.
C'mon Peon like you haven't been graveyard camp in WOW PvP. I know I have ha! 👍. Great video!
With the midnight masquerade it's an on duty quest. You queue up and then it auto teleports you to the mission location
DC universe is a blast and definitely a worthy diversion from wow. Get to level cap and farm really cool armor sets on villain side.
All I ever did in this game was pick the illusion magic then turn invisible and PK people lol! It was fun while it lasted, good ol' times.
(The game does allot season based events)
(The legend pvp mode is balanced normal pvp isn't)
So would love to see you play this game again and experience these mechanics!
Keep up to good work!
your Epic love your vids lazypeon u Always brightens up my days
Hey, I didn't watch the full video but... there is Metropolis too :D
