Let me compliment you for being just about the only FM content creator who hasn't touched on the whole FM 25 drama. Still, I'd be curious to know what's your take on the situation in a future video. But yeah, I really admire the fact that you haven't dramatized the situation for clicks and views.
thanks! It's funny because my favorite games are from Rockstar Games, so I'm used to developers not giving update for literal years at a time haha. With them, it's basically "it'll be released when it's ready" and you have no clue when it's coming, so that's kinda the mindset I have 😂. I'm bummed there's no FM25 naturally but in the meantime, FM24 is an incredible game and I have no problem playing it a little while longer 🙂
24 is such a good version. I have played the game under different names. This one is superb. Why make a lot of noise for a game that was not good enough to release. Download new squads and updated Leagues. Its a win! And thanks for so much good content, Mr DLP@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I guess what really makes the difference is that you have another job. Many content creators put all the eggs in one basket and are now complaining the basket fell. Also, your type of content can be interesting for much longer even without a new game. Rebuilds are so boring

I learned a lot about FM, especially this obscure roles like no nonsense fullback or Wide Target Man. You sir, have a new suscriber.
I love the No-Nonsense Full Back too. The direct passing really is a superpower. Insanely overlooked, especially in the lower leagues. I think the position on the wing is even more potent for the passing than the centre back, which can be good too.
I’m kinda confused. Surely the player chosen has to have good passing and vision? Or its just NNF has better lucky punts than NNCB or other positions. Why wouldn’t you just give your good full back direct passing /take more risks to recreate that Alexander Arnold playmaking
I love having these combos that let you try roles that most people avoid, i know that i have used the raum and the nnfb more often after watching your videos, keep up the great ideas!
Your videos are always great. The Ramdeuter role depends heavily on the player's characteristics. A strong and aggressive player (Endrick) can defend very effectively. He just doesn't track back immediately. But if the defender on the same flank can hold the counter attack for a little while he will get involved and press hard for the ball. On the other hand, a timid attacker like Rodrygo or Baldanzi make the team look like 1 man down when defending.
Ohhhh shit, i was doing that in FM08 without knowing. I always put creativity high in my wingers, because they had high creativity (now is it flair). And fullbacks were basically nfb per instructions. 15 year old me was a genius 😅
You have a crazy mastery of the game DLP!! I was wondering if you could create one whole video of you taking a relegation candidate team in the prem, lookingvat the squad’s players and then try to create a tactic that matches their player abilities and try to get them as far as possible. But I know these aren’t your kind of videos to make but it would be really eye opening to see.
thanks :D it may not be exactly what you're looking for, but some of my early tactic videos used Luton Town. I talked about how to manage expectations and what to expect going into a match against the big clubs :) Two videos are the "simple tactic" and "how to press with player roles"
Any chance someday you can break down the play style presets; giving examples of roles, attributes and traits that’d be good for each system? There’s so much white noise on that subject online and your simple, concise information and delivery would be fantastic.
thank you for the compliment :) I don't think I have any plans at the moment for presets, but I do agree that'd be a really fun video series. thanks for the suggestion!
Me again, yesterday you told me about your favorite tactical setup, it was a 4231 and you told me the player roles. As I’m trying something similar I wanted to ask you what kind of tactic you try to play with that tactical setup: attacking, having possession or something different? Also what team instructions do you use that you think are important in your 4231. Im thankful about every answer from you, keep up the great work man. (I’m trying to play a possession style but also pressing the opponent quite high when we aren’t on the ball.)
I'm really curious about your formation in this video. Am I seeing a Libero on support, 2 no nonsense fullbacks? Or is the left one a FB on support or something? Curious as to how it plays out in the engine. Anyway, great vid as always
great eye! It's part of a 4231, my favorite setup this season. The roles are: Defenders: NFB / CD (C) / Libero / NFB Midfield: Anchor / SV Attackers: Winger / Enganche / Raum Striker: Poacher Because there are no overlapping roles (like Wing Back or Full Back), you get some really amazing passing and ball movement. Especially in the midfield. I've used the formation in my Enganche video as well I believe
Any chance you can share the roles for the defenders? It looks like you play FB(De)-CB-L(?)-NFB. Creating a wide back-3, when the ball enters the final third and the right CB pushing into midfield. Is there a specific reason why?😅
good eye! The defenders are a NFB / CD(C) / Libero / NFB. And it does create a wide back 3 in possession! It's my favorite setup to use this year. You don't really get any overlapping runs, but with a Libero, Segundo Volante, Raumdeuter, and Enganche, you get some crazy passing and ball movement.
@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker I'm a big fan of raumdeuters. I like to play ones that are good in the air and cross to the back post! No idea if that really works but it does in my head canon
Hey man, thanks for the great work. I’d be interested in role combinations including the trequartista, the IWB (attack) and the regista. Three roles that I have always tried to use, without any success. Mainly, because I couldn’t pair them with any other roles that seemed to work well together. Have a nice weekend!
I'm not the DLP, but I can give a few suggestions! Treq is most useful in my experience on the wing. It can function a lot like Grealish at Villa, where his job is to get the ball as often as possible, run with it, and then distribute when he's pulled 4 players out of position. It's very dependent on dribbling, flair, and passing ability. I typically like treqs to cut inside, so its best pairing is with a FB or WB that overlaps. Registas are essentially RPMs on crack, they do a lot more creative stuff but less defending and are about as likely to be out of place as the RPM. Best paired with an Anchor-type, but I've had some success with pairing them with a really aggressive BWM and playing more defensive overall. Finally, IWB(A). That's a tougher one because there's not a lot of times where you want your fullback in the opposition half space over a CM or a winger, but if you really want to make it work, you'd want a Winger on the side of the IWB and perhaps a Carillero in the midfield. I'd somewhat consider Connor Bradley's role in Slot's Liverpool as an IWB(A) in the final third at least, but overall it's a weirder player role that I haven't used a ton. I did find that when trying to make a box midfield with a BWM(S) and IWB(S), they would typically stand only a few yards apart, so when I had a CM that I didn't want in the final third I would put the IWB on A and he'd take the more advanced part of the box. These are just a few ideas, not expert opinions or fully analyzed concepts! The best way to learn is to experiment. You never know what players will pop up in deeper saves, and some innovation can make some regens extremely good!
@@BenAnderson48 Thanks for that answer, sounds interesting. I got a player capable of playing the treq on the wing, in which formation would it be ideal? Asymmetrical 442, 433, 4231, 343? I would love to get it to work and I’ll try with your suggestions, might even throw a regista in there, can’t go fancy enough I guess.
thank you for the question and for supporting the channel! :) For a 433 as an example, you could do the Trequartista as the lone striker, and then on one side use the Winger(S), IWB(A), and maybe a Carrilero. That will give you a lot of movement, and then focus on supporting/defending roles on the other side. The Trequartista likes to have a lot of room to roam around in. I also want to mention that what @benanderson48 is absolutely true as well, and all the tips they gave are excellent. I wanted to give you another example to show that there are mutliple ways to tackle a situation :)
@Young_Blumenkohl I've had the most success with it on the wing in a 4-3-3, but it can work in any formation. The big thing as DLP said below, is that treqs like space, and they will come very deep to find it. Having an attack-minded fullback on the same side works best in my experience because as the treq comes low to receive, that fullback will happily take the space and keep the opposition fullback pinned. Then when they drive upfield with the ball, the opposition's FB or CM has to come out to deal with it which will free either your FB for a pass into space and a cross, or your CM to progress the ball more, with the Treq then driving into the box.
i have a video suggestion for the future, could you talk about how to utilize wide and forward players with the knocks ball past opponent? i find alot of late game players have this trait and it causes me endless frustration trying to find ways in which they wont just give the ball up. Thanks!
oo that could be a good idea! I've been (slowly) trying to gather different player trait examples. I'll keep an eye out for knocks ball; especially for regens.
When you think you have seen it all, the Teacher still surprises you! This is an amazing video. I am assuming many of the same concepts apply to NFB + trequartista. Makes sense? P.s. is that a secundo?
Yep! the NFB works great with roles who can drift into those wider areas (Treq/AP on the wing/Raum). I am curious now, I want to try it with a Treq out on the wing haha And yea that's a SV. Another good pair for those looping passes over the top
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker yes, this concepts are what I meant with isolation. The trequartista loves to aggressively dribble the defenders or surprise them with a tricky pass, so ideally you want to have him vs multiple defenders to create overload elsewhere. Anyway, the idea of runners + long passers is a very good one
5:14 - What defensive role? Thats a regista, because he keeps up with play as the ball progresses through the lines. A DLP would pass and then pivoit back into midfield to offer cover for his defence.
Another great video of this channel! I was just wondering how the tactic works out with this role combination. Do you have the tactic somewhere? I have been trying to reproduce it but I still think that is something missing :D

I like to use the WB(D) in a back-3 and pair them with a WCB(A) and a SV(S). Give a support, defend, and attacking role but still movement from different areas
Regarding the "not strong defensively" in the "Raumdeuter"... I was just thinking, one way to keep him more disciplined defensive-wise could be the instruction to specifically mark the full back of the opposing team. What do you think about it? Thanks for another great video.
that was my trick as well, but it does mean he is less available for a counter attack because he wont be high and wide. but i have used it before in a system where i put 2 raum's as it made it so one was always tracking and the other would be high and wider depending on the oppo fullback.
great idea! that could totally work; an effective way to get your team better on defense! If I may counter, one thing I love about the Raumdeuter, like @piersonjamesa alluded to, is that they will drift and find space without the ball. So if you have him mark an opponent, you will be more defensively sound but could lose some of your attacking ability. As always, FM is about trade offs :)
I'm not too upset about it :) bummed it's not coming out but stuff like this happens in game development. And FM24 is an incredible game still, so I don't mind playing it a little while longer
For the record, let me say that I love all player roles equally 🤣🤣 but the one's I gravitate to are a playmaking 10 role (usually the Enganche or Trequartista), the Raumdeuter, Libero, and the Poacher off the top of my head. They're a part of my favorite tactical setup
Holy! Arrived at Sub 10 views! Anyway, for utilizing Raumdeuter should 'Pass into Space' be used? I used RMD for a season w/o pass into space. Granted, he created key passes, chances, and assists, but not as much as the AP or the opposite winger. His average rating is also subpar, even though he's one of the best players in my team
hey there! I don't really use Pass Into Space with the Raumdeuter. I've liked to use the Enganche as a pair; he'll stay more central while the Raum stays out wide. But the role does have a tendency to become invisible for matches since they're not really ball dominant like a playmaker. I am curious now about working the Pass Into Space instruction into a tactic with the Raum and maybe that allows him to get the ball more. Especially with the No Nonsense roles who like to do that
it's a 4231 :) Defenders: NFB / CD / L / NFB Midfield: Anchor / SV Attackers: W / Enganche / Raum / Poacher you get some crazy good movement from them. The better your squad dynamics and chemistry, the more movement you can get

@@thejarkus6484 Yeah that's what I was thinking of as well. :)
What are your favorite player roles this year?
For the record, let me say that I love all player roles equally 🤣🤣 but the one's I gravitate to are a playmaking 10 role (usually the Enganche or Trequartista), the Raumdeuter, Libero, and the Poacher off the top of my head. They're a part of my favorite tactical setup
Love these roles too, because you mentioned it.
What is your favorite tactical setup?
Always wondered this since I watched your channel.
Especially with the No Nonsense roles who like to do that
Could you tell me what your favorite tactical setup is this year?
it's a 4231 :)
Defenders: NFB / CD / L / NFB
Midfield: Anchor / SV
Attackers: W / Enganche / Raum / Poacher
you get some crazy good movement from them. The better your squad dynamics and chemistry, the more movement you can get
@@TheDeepLyingPlaymaker sounds great. Are the any team instructions you use?

That sounds like a lot of nonsense for a no nonsense wingback
😂😂😂
me in the locker room afterwards: "hey I've been noticing a lot of nonsense from you when I specifically requested none of it"
