I love the way you look at finances, Miko! Dave Ramsey is too intense for me, I’m not going to starve myself and have no joy just to pay off debt. I’ll choose to do both, even when it’s slower. My kids are small and I want to enjoy them NOW!
Yes! I got so discouraged thinking of never enjoying myself, never going out with friends or buying things I enjoyed again. I stopped caring about my student loans for a few years as a reaction to being on his miserable program. I also didn't understand how to put together a budget that I could stick to or adjust.
Your budget system has really eliminated the stress I used to feel every month. Rather than calculating figures manually, I created a spreadsheet with formulas that add all of the totals for me and transfers these amounts to a master sheet. I use it each payday and it has completely removed the anxiety I used to experience every time I got paid. I love this system and the fact that it is so customizable to my personal situation.
Hi Miko and Ryen! I totally needed to hear that comment about our budget should be different each month! I was feeling really guilty last month because I was over in many categories vs in May! Such a great reminder and I need to change up something’s for next month and won’t feel guilty 😉
Thanks for this! We are saving to cash flow a trip to Disneyland and we are going while still in debt. But my kids are only little once and the memories will be worth it tenfold! We are not going to go into debt for this trip and we are cash flowing the entire thing.
We had to put my dog to sleep yesterday. Luckily I had the savings to pay for it, so it made things easier not having to worry financially. Definitely not a fun thing to pay for, though. 😞 I miss my little buddy!
I am so sorry for your loss! It was very hard for my family when we lost our cat and dog, over the past few years. But we also knew that we didn't want to watch them suffer either. We still talk about them. And laugh about the funny things they did. And the joy that they brought into our lives...💔😼❤🙏
Hi miko my budget is struggling..I gotta start over..because my car needed to be fixed..it cost 1,000🙃 so my funds are wiped out..but at least I had the money..just gotta start over😥
Could you do a video about how to manage your budget when life changes happen that you didn't know to budget for? I just got a new job and need a new wardrobe since my last job was working from home/ casual in-office clothes. I'm trying to start small and build over time but the fact remains that I have to wear clothes to work.
What do you think about budgeters (RUclipsrs) that don’t share their income? Isn’t that the base of budgeting? Showing people on how to live on certain incomes and also to show your growth on your financial journey? I follow you because you are so open about your finances. And I can reflect based on what you do.
I also overspent in gas last month, the cost in my area has gone up a lot recently. Its just the season I suppose, but I certainly miss early pandemic gas prices and filling my tank for $15 🥲
Hey miko! I love your videos so much! I'm part of the HOH community and I was wondering if you could look into putting subtitles on your videos? RUclips stopped doing it for newer videos but I would love to continue to watch your videos and understand them you have inspired me so much in the last 2 years!! Love you!
Always happy to see an upload! I do have a question that might be more of a topic. I loved budgeting in the past and found it to be fun in many ways but lately I’ve been bored with it. It’s not a matter of burnout or frustration but more of a feeling of everything is going so smoothly and I’m sticking within my budget and making extra payments on things, etc… but it’s become so monotonous that it’s grown boring to me. Does this make sense?! I’m not getting the ‘wins’ of finding extra money here and there or the feeling of accomplishment when I make a budget that works because it always works. I know this is a good thing! But I wonder how to make it interesting again?
I totally understand that! This is exactly why I started making budgeting beautiful. I created beautiful trackers, worksheets, envelopes, etc. That brought so much joy to me. Or, if you feel like you need to plan a little getaway that might help you feel refreshed and recouped with your budget :)
I agree with the other comments. Definitely make a goal/plan to take a trip somewhere or something you want to do and save up for it. It’ll make you look forward to it! I just came back from a trip from Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard and budgeted that and I’m so happy I did! I enjoyed myself

Really enjoy your channel Miko🙂thank you. Been watching Saray from Saray Plans (hope I'm correct here) where she recommends you for help with budgeting. I agree with someone else's comment here...While I've only used Dave Ramsey so far, I'm struggling as of recent with doing a monthly budget. Think I should consider doing by paycheck 🤔 I've been really lax as of last several months. Constantly, I try and "reinvent the wheel" with my budgeting partly b/c I'm a single/only parent/nurse - like to keep everything with me to/from work. Question: could I still do the BBP forms while just keeping up with my check registers?
Hi, yes, you could use the BBP forms. You do need to have some way of tracking how much you are spending day to day in each category. So using a spending tracker for cashless spending or a cash envelop is key. That way you know that for eg, you have $100 for groceries for the week, you are spending $54, so you have $46 dollars left in your envelop, or you see on your tracker that you have $46 left in the bank designated for groceries. Otherwise the budget becomes this plan for how you wish you are spending your money, that you look at once a month, but you don't see how you spending fits into that day by day.
@@arthrodea thank you arthrodea. I have a new EC budget petite planner, but haven't started using. Do you think the BBP monthly is about the same size? Still wondering if I should try it.
@@annamarie3162 I have the budget by paycheck boxed set - which is individual booklets (one for each month). Each booklet is about 8 inches x 5.5 inches, and it fits in my purse.
