I come up with the new idea of roast. When you die too many times, the game will suggest "Don't you wanna be rather a spectator?" and opens up RUclips search for "No damage hard difficulty walkthrough"
"Don't you wanna be rather a spectator?" With grammar like the one in your sentence, I can easily tell that you were a spectator in your elementary grammar class and kept up non-sensical verbiage throughout your life. Digimon Survive was that last game to roast me! It said at the end that maybe if you didn't make such bad choices, some of the kids would have survived! How was i supposed to know that!?!?
Well, Genshin Impact doesn't seem to roast me for getting my characters killed and even started me out with a bunch of fried eggs that can revive them. But you can also cook new ones yourself and I've become better at the game, meaning I'm more strategic about what I do and die less.

I'd rather playing on normal difficulty. Because too easy is boring, while having it too hard is wasting time like a lot more than necessary, just for the same content. I realized I can use the extra time to play another game instead since I have a lot on my playlist. Although some games which have normal difficulty is still too grindy. And there are also some normal difficulty games being too easy. Every game is not the same. So in some cases, I have to pick Easy and sometimes pick Hard. For example, games like Yakuza I picked Hard because Normal is too easy for me. Persona Q I picked Easy because it feels like a boring grindy after some time, while Persona 5 Tactica I picked Hard.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games tell you things like "You Suck!" and "Don't Do Drugs!" and other things whenever you go out of bounds, which gets really frustrating when you're repetitively trying to complete a challenge that is designed to send you out of bounds if you screw up.
3DO's Shadow War of succession is a fighting game also uses the splash page trick Twisted Metal did, by preventing you from accessing the battle against the Shadow King and saying:"looking for a real challenge? Go play on normal" Another game that don't directly "mock players", but still lock out the rest of the game, is Castlevania on the N64 where if the player finishes the industrial area and get to the elevator on Easy mode, the game says you've completed everything that was in easy mode, if you want to get to the end, play in Normal mode
Another one that hammered players around the world is Crash Bash's giant orange FAIL screen every time you failed in the adventure mode trying to collect everything other than trophies. The off-screen announcer will say: "TIME UP" when it comes to timed gem and crystal challenges, the rest is "YOU FAIL", yes including its notorious AI-cheating relic challenges
Dead Cells. The scribe roasts and insults you EVERY time you die, or even reset from the menu. There is also an achievement for 1) ground stomping into a spike trap, and 2) dying while holding over 100 cells, even saying "burn" in the description. Cells are a core part of unlocking weapons and items, so losing that many is BRUTAL.

Missed the entire game, Deadpool. Makes fun of you if you button mash. Makes fun of you if you fail to make a jump multiple times. Roasts you if you die. Makes fun of you for using the hammer weapon once you unlock it. Mocks you for not going to your options and upgrading your weapons and your character regularly. Pacifier Easy mode. The entire game pretty much trolls you.
10:44 Bully is awesome....I used to get attention a lot and I didn't mind (especially side missions), it helped get stuff I was looking for, run a prefect over, and make weird shapes in the grass. Such a classic game. I was a little toe rag here.....the rocket launcher and spud cannon was fun to use. Sometimes, the glitches were fun too
Microsoft Word used to do this - if you kept making mistakes this little, animated character popped-up. He was called 'Clippy' & used to say "Hi! it looks like you're sh*t at typing letters; do you need a hand, loser?". Then it crashed the .exe & also blue-screened Windows. Ah, happy days...
A couple I’ll add here. The new survival horror game Pacific Drive has an achievement you can gain called Driver’s Ed Dropout which you can only get if you hit the accelerator before putting the car in drive 20 times. Then you have the amazing horror game Dark Deception that mocks you literally every time you died by the main side character Bierce. For example; “Killed by a statue, you must be crushed” or what about; “Dead already, that’s ok, no one liked you anyway. and finally; “Well looks like the jokes on you, and on the floor, and all over the walls.”
1:33 I say the chicken hat needs an upgrade, of absolute shameful proprtions. If the player dies 20 times to common soldiers, they get presented with the option: "Turn Snake into a chocobo?" Turning snake into a chocobo makes you unable to equip guns, unable to use items, drops mission status to an B rank, makes you undetectable, and only can deliver kicks to your enemies, however enemies can mount you as if you were a steed: BECAUSE YOU ARE!

I have had to use the chicken hat from time to time, I never knew about the little version at all but that was only when I first started playing. Great video though!
Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy unintentionally roasted me. The game over screen with Uka Uka saying “game over” is usually done with very dark lighting, but I died so many time that the screen turned to normal lighting, and then eventually Uka Uka just started glowing. I think this was unintentional but damn if that didn’t tell me “you’re bad”.
the "dying in easy mode" achievement. I love getting those intentionally. Especially when it's very hard (sometimes) to die in easy mode. FUCK YOU regeneration health, just let my character die when jumping off the edge of the universe. I NEED my worthless achievement.
There’s a game you missed called kick the buddy where you abuse a doll that’s alive and if you aren’t abusing him he insults him and offers to trade places with you.
Ohhhh you forgot the OG (of my memory) of roasting bad game play, The Lost Vikings! Every time you restart a level the 3 characters have a conversation. After lousing over and over they begin taking jabs at the player. One if my favourite, most deep seeded childhood memories is on the fantasy stage if game 2: “I’m getting sick of this player!” “Ya! He really knows how to push my buttons!” “If that were true we’d be out of here by now”
Guitar Hero 3 lets you skip boss battles once you’ve lost to them enough times by asking you if you want to “wuss out.”If you take the game up on its offer, it puts “wussed out” next to the battle title on the song list to shame you.
There was an achievement on Call of Duty World at War, where it literally tells you to go get some sun. To get it, you prestige 10 times on multi-player. And the grand prize, 0 gamerscore.
3:40 I actually got a bronze star myself. I actually got the game and I used to suck at it. But seeing a bronze star isn't a good reward for asking for help, who could blame Nintendo? Perhaps ever heard of the fraze, "watch and learn"? That's why. If you want a gold Star, you have to get it yourself. If your stuck, ask RUclips.
I always played the guitar hero games on easy mode that way I could unlock all of the songs without getting frustrated and I had fun playing the songs at a decent speed
I always did that on the Gameboy version of Mickey's Ultimate Challenge. The Cake mode (the easiest mode) was just the right challenge mode for me. I did try it on Medium once, but that proved to be difficult for me and I have stuck to Cake mode ever since.
DMC3 was my intro to the series i played it so many times yet even first time was pretty fun and uncomplicated so i can’t imagine how bad some players were to get easy mode.
Some games offer you variety of ways to succeed - they are there for you to chose one that suits you most. Even if you found a way to cheese a game - IMO it's less important if completing it the intended way is not you cup of tea - that you are inventive enough to able to solve the task your way. I find it much more interesting to find ways to abuse the games than playing them normally.
I'm surprised that you didn't include Gradius series, especially G-5 because of each time there's a "oops! No more lives!" moment, the computer of Vic-Viper T301 has some sarcasam, and I even remember most of them based of how far you've gone (in fact I didn't even see a vid of that on YT yet, what a surprise!) such as St1.0/no stages: "C'mon, we're just getting started..." 1 stage cleared (or Battleship raid Act 1): "You need some practice..." 2 stages (St3 = Fortress): "Try again." 3 stages (or 4 = Cell): "May you rest upon your scales." 4 stages (or 5 = Meteor Field, and the funniest imo): "You're just some more space debris!" ...well, that was my longest time of survival back in the day before my PS2 died... 😢
When I first played Jak & Daxter I still didn't know English very well, so in one of Jak's death scenes where Daxter whifs his hand at Jak's breath, saying "Yuk... pebermint", I thought he whifed his hand because Jak's body was already starting to corode.
The first time I think this happened to me was an old flash game on PC called "The Chasm". In this click adventure you play as a marsupial trying to get the town power back on so they can run the fridge and watch the big game. One game stage has you approach the dam, where the only way up is to climb up the pipes. However the pipes are a maze that you have to solve first person, and water sloshes down them at regular intervals, washing you down and out if you aren't quick enough to find a dodge. When this happens, you get rewarded with an animation of the hero getting up and shaking the water off, while nearby a kookabura laughs at you. But the real joy is, there are 4 different animations with the kookabura where each time you get washed out it laughs progressively harder, and the 4th time, even laughs so hard it falls off its perch! I remember vividly that despite the fact that it was mocking me, I couldn't help but laugh out loud! You can find the game on emulators, but they always crash at exactly this point in the game. Frustrating!
7:29 the reason why they mock you is because it makes you mad or sad mad is there main goal to make you if your mad you’ll keep playing game cause your mad and you’ll be so mad you keep wanna playing
The comment about the dinosaurs in 98 made me shoot my beer out from laughing. I remember those days back when dirt was new 🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the laugh bro.
Galaxy 2 is not the only time Mario roasts you for being bad. The New Super Mario Bros games let you get assistance from Luigi if you die too many times. You watch him do a showy run through of the level, then are left to your own devices again.
In a game called tabs(totally accurate battle simulator) in the campaign mode if you lose ten times on one level you will earn an echievment that just laughs at you
11:01 btw, every time you get busted you have to mow a bigger lawn than the last. 12:41 which is also a reference to when 50 cent got shot 9 times in the chest & survived

There is also an achievement for 1) ground stomping into a spike trap, and 2) dying while holding over 100 cells, even saying "burn" in the description. Cells are a core part of unlocking weapons and items, so losing that many is BRUTAL.
In Cuphead If you beat one of the bosses on simple mode, king dice will tell you to do it all again on regular to get a soul contract
15:38 POV:
my view at seeing my elder sister play a horror game and die more than me AND gets scared easier than me, where it get extremely brutal and paranoid
"Enjoy your cruddy poo poo star Mario!"

7:51 Not Batman but him if he doesn’t leave Batman alone🦇👨💪
Okay, huge kudos to whomever drew the Crash art in this vid. I never knew about the Tiny fight trick way back then, but heard about it from YT.
Luigi from The Thumbnail: "YOU THOUGHT THE KOOPA WORKED ALONE!?."
Glad to know I’m not the only one that thought of this 😭
A couple I’ll add here. The new survival horror game Pacific Drive has an achievement you can gain called Driver’s Ed Dropout which you can only get if you hit the accelerator before putting the car in drive 20 times.
Then you have the amazing horror game Dark Deception that mocks you literally every time you died by the main side character Bierce. For example;
“Killed by a statue, you must be crushed”
or what about;
“Dead already, that’s ok, no one liked you anyway.
and finally;
“Well looks like the jokes on you, and on the floor, and all over the walls.”
I’m pretty sure Konami needs to own Final Fantasy for that to work, and I don’t think they do…
@@TheDMan2003 Konami took this game from Kojiima, remember that without Kojima, konami wouldn't be here today: at least, not on any significant scale.
@@Angel-Dust-The-Prostitute Yeah, I know Konami took the franchise of MGS, I’m talking Final Fantasy. You know, the mega-popular JRPG franchise that has that one game constantly remade because it’s one of the best-selling games of all time?
@@TheDMan2003 yup, It's owned by square enix. In fact; wouldn't be surprised if promotional material gets bled into other games for money.
There is a fangame called JoJo The 7th Stand User that gives players the option to switch the difficulty at anytime during gameplay, however if you switch it to easy, a clucking sound would play which is the game's way of calling you a chicken for wanting to make things easier.
There’s a game you missed called kick the buddy where you abuse a doll that’s alive and if you aren’t abusing him he insults him and offers to trade places with you.
seeing mario being laughed at bye luigi dragged me here
Ohhhh you forgot the OG (of my memory) of roasting bad game play, The Lost Vikings!
Every time you restart a level the 3 characters have a conversation. After lousing over and over they begin taking jabs at the player. One if my favourite, most deep seeded childhood memories is on the fantasy stage if game 2:
“I’m getting sick of this player!”
“Ya! He really knows how to push my buttons!”
“If that were true we’d be out of here by now”
reminds me of ratche deadlocked where in singleplayer mode if you died, the bots working with you say things like, "and pay attention this time"

You are correct
Guitar Hero 3 lets you skip boss battles once you’ve lost to them enough times by asking you if you want to “wuss out.”If you take the game up on its offer, it puts “wussed out” next to the battle title on the song list to shame you.
8:53 THIS IS FUNNY DUDE
There was an achievement on Call of Duty World at War, where it literally tells you to go get some sun. To get it, you prestige 10 times on multi-player. And the grand prize, 0 gamerscore.
Lol wait, there's a second chicken hat?????
😂
Yes. The “lil chick hat” it looks like a baby chick hatching from an egg.
I always play games on Easy. I just want to have fun. 🙃
I always played the guitar hero games on easy mode that way I could unlock all of the songs without getting frustrated and I had fun playing the songs at a decent speed
Me too 🤣
I always did that on the Gameboy version of Mickey's Ultimate Challenge. The Cake mode (the easiest mode) was just the right challenge mode for me.
I did try it on Medium once, but that proved to be difficult for me and I have stuck to Cake mode ever since.
I do the same thing with obbies on Roblox!
I like to start with easy and work my way up
When I saw the title, I already knew a great example, Henry Stickman, the fail endings just roast you to a crisp😂
Everyone can have a good day but players on easy mode
DMC3 was my intro to the series i played it so many times yet even first time was pretty fun and uncomplicated so i can’t imagine how bad some players were to get easy mode.
Be honest guys, am I bad at a game if i just sit up high with a sniper rifle?
Isnt what snipers are for
Also depends on the game
And depending if its camping or not

Some games offer you variety of ways to succeed - they are there for you to chose one that suits you most.
Even if you found a way to cheese a game - IMO it's less important if completing it the intended way is not you cup of tea - that you are inventive enough to able to solve the task your way.
I find it much more interesting to find ways to abuse the games than playing them normally.
For the next part, include Rayman Origins, which litteraly skips levels and gives NO electoons, you can even skip whole WORLDS
Harley Quinn demeaning the player seems like a reward

I'm surprised that you didn't include Gradius series, especially G-5 because of each time there's a "oops! No more lives!" moment, the computer of Vic-Viper T301 has some sarcasam, and I even remember most of them based of how far you've gone (in fact I didn't even see a vid of that on YT yet, what a surprise!)
such as St1.0/no stages: "C'mon, we're just getting started..."
1 stage cleared (or Battleship raid Act 1): "You need some practice..."
2 stages (St3 = Fortress): "Try again."
3 stages (or 4 = Cell): "May you rest upon your scales."
4 stages (or 5 = Meteor Field, and the funniest imo): "You're just some more space debris!"
...well, that was my longest time of survival back in the day before my PS2 died... 😢
Dude i think you forgot climbing simulator e.x.e 😂
When you try to quit instead of the quit button saying quit it said "Rage Quit* LOL 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I know it's not exactly roasting but the narration on 'Getting over it' is definitely provoking rage everytime you lose progress.

Typical Asian parents 7:03
Forgot to mention the granddaddy of games to mock you for not being good…duckhunt…the laughing dog still haunts my nightmares lol

Galaxy 2 is not the only time Mario roasts you for being bad. The New Super Mario Bros games let you get assistance from Luigi if you die too many times. You watch him do a showy run through of the level, then are left to your own devices again.

Genshin Impact has a lot of achievements for dying in hillarious ways.
Boared to death: Die to a wild boar

You forgot the lost Vikings. If you die too many times on a single level. In your death scene, the three Vikings will talk about the player personally and basically say that they suck.
Cuphead literally doesnt let you win unless you play in normal difficulty.
