    I find it hard to believe the Bears really think they slid because of that Hail Mary. The first three quarters of the Hail Mary Experience were not at all impressive, so there's more to it all than the Hail Mary play.

      @@bigjun913I mean caleb made some great plays on that final drive to put us ahead with 30 seconds left. It was a very clutch drive, but the entire narrative shifts on one bad defensive play.

    • @GodLikeMikeLive
      @GodLikeMikeLive 11 дней назад +1

      @@iankane3732 That's why he said "the first three quarters". If CW played great for the entire game, and not just one drive, then the game wouldn't have even come down to the hail mary. Stevenson deserves blame for that play, but CW definitely deserves blame for the entire game coming down to one play. He needs to be better.

    • @iankane3732
      @iankane3732 11 дней назад +1

      @@GodLikeMikeLive I mean he still did enough to win at the end, that's what good QBs do. Also if we don't hand the ball to Doug Kramer on the goal line possession previous then we are also in a situation where the hail Mary doesn't matter. Play calling was by far the biggest problem in that game.

      54???? ...wow... I won't take a guess. If it is a mental thing, and if it is not on Caleb (which noone would tell us openly), we could see improvement within a single day. If it is on Caleb, it will not get better as long as he starts.... if its not mental but on coaching, it won't get worse but will take more time than half a week to get better. Maybe its both.
      A Chicago win would be a big surprise though. Actually a situation to gamble with some loose money... odds are (still) very one sided.

    I'm going to keep a little optimism. I think Sunday's game could go either including the Bears get a W. There is plenty of evidence showing that Love buckles and throws some embarrassing picks against good Ds that the Bears can capitalize on. I also have seen videos of Brown when he was on the Rams and his attitude and energy could be enough to get the culture in a better spot. If he looks at the games the Bears won and starts doing more plays that use Kmet and short passes to Swift and can get a little positive morale going, not to mention using plays like that from the get go could open up Wrs more, and let Caleb be Caleb more I think they can win. It could also be just more of the same, but I've seen the talent of Caleb, Dj, Keenan, Rome, Swift, Kmet. They just need to stick to what works and let the players stick to what they do best.

    Williams needs to be given an opportunity to get his head in the game and stop waiting for the deep ball and lean more on shorter passes,, if he starts going to the midfield passes the opposing defense will pay more attention there which will open deep ball passes. In doing this it will hold the defense to watching the pass game which will open holes for the run game

    The only thing I am preliminarily worried about is his effort. I'll explain.
    People unearthed tweets from his wife last December (as discussed on Score 670 with Spiegel & Holmes). People were roasting Brown because the offense was basically just vanilla hand offs and screens. They were calling for him to be fired.
    She tweeted "he's already fired, we don't care."
    So it seems like he just mailed it in. I worry about what he was told here. I.e. did Poles already make it sound like Flus is likely gone? Or does he still feel like this might be the sorta gig that goes permanent next year?
    So it just comes down to what he thinks the future might be here.

    The HC this team really needs is a guy like Dick Vermeil. If he has any intention of coming back right now. He has a history of taking on lost looking causes and turning them around. But he gets burned out after a few seasons because he puts so much into it. He took a pathetic Eagles team that was so bad they were holding open tryouts... the Vince Papali team. And had them playing in a Superbowl 2 years later. And turned a fumbling Rams franchise into the "greatest show on turf". Even if he burns out again he could at least have this organization in good shape and leave it that way, recommending his replacement on the way out from his own staff. And unlike Eberflus he truly is a nice guy, not just a pretender.
    It's certainly worth the phone call and a try I'd say. It makes sense. So naturally... we won't do it.

    Doesn't matter. Bears need a new roster for Oline. Defense can't stop anyone until the red zone- where they start playing- only giving up a field goal- and Caleb on his Jay Cutler sailing passes high....
    AND coaching blew really 4 games now. No way Bears should have lost to the Patriots... or lose that comeback... just not sure how rest'- a bi week had players coming out so lethargic???? I'm out of blue print for how to win games.

    The problem is that the head coach will still get in the way of the success of the quarterback. he has Caleb Williams scared to take risks down the field, just like he had Justin Fields scared to take shots down the field. He has had them terrified of making mistakes. The quarterback has to be able to let it rip with confidence. A young quarterback needs to have the freedom to go out and play his game. Why would you go out and draft a dynamic quarterback, Who’s strength is playing off script and then try to cripple him and keep him from doing what makes him special. Matt Eberflus was a linebacker, and he’s still the same meathead (he knows nothing about the quarterback position). The Bears need to go get an offensive minded Head Coach to pair with this dynamic young QB. That is the only way he will get properly developed. Then, prioritize revamping the offensive line through free agency and the draft. Aside from an edge rusher, the entire emphasis in the off-season should be on rebuilding the offensive line.
