One of the best developments of the video is seeing chat put in the petthemai emote text in chat even though the stream didn’t have the emote and then later you can see that the emote was added and chat was able to show their love for the maimai’s even when Linkus was annoyed by getting one at the end of a dungeon.
I was surprised the item upgrades weren't randomized... like if you have the item and 10 maimais you can get the "upgrade" which is another random item... then again that could lead to a lot of logic breaks cause it'd have to allow almost any order of item upgrades. Alternatively just every ten maimais could get you a new item but... I dunno. Maybe 10 Maimais + 1 item = 1 new check idk
@@sinteleon correct, all the upgrades do is simply make the game easier. That said, if the upgrades were randomized like megarotom suggested, it would theoretically be possible that progression could get locked behind a specific maiamai upgrade, and could likely result in many softlocked runs

They could be good if the randomizer was more sophisticated. Like you couldn’t just go right to final boss, you needed to complete the main story Dungions. But for wind temple you need the paraglider, so you’d need to go around looking for it. And in Fire Temple you need heat protection gear. If the randomizer took out that outfit as something to buy and you needed to find it, then it’s more challenging. Now, there are far too many chests to need to check so the randomizer should randomize these needed items in its region. Fire set in Eldin, paraglider in hebra. Zora tunic in lanayru, etc. This would greatly improve those randomizer in my opinion.
I just realized... since in that seed, Zelda gave him a Maiamai... that means the 100 Maiamai reward was actually hard-locked... it'd be funny if it was the Bow
@@jackgartner3110 it would depend on how early in development the randomizer is as I've heard stories of the first randomizers generating Bricked seeds that couldn't be complete.

Love to see this game getting attention
@@thew00dsman79 Cuccoo minigame is fun and not that hard. Unless you're like me and stubbornly try to reach 100 seconds on Endless difficulty thinking there's a second major prize there (there are, in fact, no major prizes in Endless). That would count as self-inflicted torture.
This game is incredible, probably my favorite Zelda game of all time. It was also the first game I ever speedrun by following tutorials on RUclips so it has a special place in my heart
When I played Ice Ruins, I remember the pain of spending ungodly amounts of time wandering the dungeon, looking for whatever key or switch I was missing. Despite all that, I still love the Ice Ruins. I don't think there's any dungeon in LBW that I dislike. Though the one that irritates me the most at times is Dark Palace, simply because I get tired of equipping and unequipping the lantern (I still generally like Dark Palace though).
These randomisers are so tempting to get into as someone who loves Zelda games but can't stomach the effort it takes to start one. It's a solid 2-3 hours, if not more, of effort to get to the point where the game opens up, and so much of that time is cutscenes and scripted sequences and even beyond that it's only a slow trend upwards into an open and enjoyable and dynamic game yknow? It's not immediately the game i wanna be playing even after i get past that intro slog. I love Zelda games for their incredibly good dungeon and puzzle design and for their sense of progression, and these randomizers are those two things on absolute hard drugs, without any of the preamble and sequencing of "okay, this is the thing i HAVE to do next". You have one goal- get the items that let you get to the final boss. How you get the things to get there, IF you get the things to get there, is up to you.

this game was my first ever zelda game and was a big part of my childhood since we traveled with the 3ds a bunch, so happy to see this kind of awesome content on it!
A really fun challenge for this game is to beat the whole thing on Hero mode, without using the sword. It makes you use all the items, and makes the whole thing a lot of fun. I hope someone tries it :)
I tried this rando a week or so ago, it's so fun! Can't wait to watch this. Also, you're lucky to get the sword just an hour and a half in. I'm like 4 hours in and I still don't have it. I do have the large spin attack and a bunch of weapons, but still no sword... I even did like 3-4 dungeons with no sword.
With the turtle rock, I 100% agree with there should've been a notifier for a lot of things like killing enemies to progress. Childhood me Got so confused playing this game, went back to it a couple years ago and 100%'d it. 10/10 zelda game, only thing I would change is that you have to buy your weapons/tools.
I always brushed off a link between worlds because I think I always associated it with triforce heroes for some reason as the same/similar game. Linkus showed me I was obviously a fool I need this on my 3DS immediately
I played this game nonstop when I was younger and wanted to 100% complete the game so I spent hours and hours looking for every single thing but I only recently found out I already had everything for like half of that lol
Linkus, you should learn the cool speedrun skip that skips the entire sand temple. It's pretty satisfying! There's also a somewhat cool skip for the ice palace.
