      @@bellperez2350 I really don’t think bringing back veterans when other nations have transitioned to a much younger team is the way to go. You will literally be delaying the inevitable when they’ll all retire and have an inexperienced roster of players . The biggest issue the USWNT has is lack of technical ability compared to their European counterparts which are bringing their players through academies from the age of 6 and teaching them all the skills of the mens game, this is just becoming evident in the national teams now , whereas the US still uses its collegiate pay to play scheme which concentrates on the athleticism and relies on passing the ball forward fast and expecting individual players to score the goals. Rose Lavelle used to be the biggest threat to other teams but she is no longer as effective as other teams have learnt how to prevent her from being involved in the game and therefore reducing the USWNT opportunities to score. Once the European countries surpass USWNT there will be a need for them to adjust how they do things before they get left behind. The US will have broaden its scope for players and allow non collegiate players access to academies from an early age which employ experienced European coaches from the mens game to transition the same skills to the womens game . I think the next decade is going to see a massive growth in womens football.

    Europe is just now starting to invest a bit more in their national leagues and national teams. The best women's club football is already played in Europe and you'll start to see the effect of that more and more on national teams as well. The US dynasty was only possible because the European football giants were sleeping on the women's game, but that's starting to change now.

      you actually have it backwards. The only reason the US hasn't won multiple World Cups on the men's side is because Europe had an over 100 year head start on the US in soccer/football passion and culture. If soccer/football had been the top sport in the US from the beginning (late 1800s), the US would have won multiple World Cups on the men's side. Even the US women are disadvantaged because they come from a nation (the US) that doesn't have a proper soccer culture. It's easier to eventually win when you have a little less funding but are from a country with a proper soccer culture (Germany, France, Spain etc) than if you have a little more funding but are from a country without a proper soccer culture (USA)

    • @barrycarey7521

      @@AW-zk5qb what rubbish! European teams had 100yrs head start , so you exclude South American teams and other Southern Hemisphere countries! Football is a global sport and it’s not that the rest of the world had a head start USA was not interested in it. I had American sport explained to me in the 90’s ….the reason why the USA doesn’t / didn’t like football is because it doesn’t have big scoreline like 73-84 etc . AMERICANS like lots of points and lots of things to cheer about, so a game over 90 mins that ends up 3-0 is considered boring by the average American it’s not exuberant and OTT enough . So USA weren’t left behind….the rest of the world didn’t get a head start for any reason than Americans not being interested in the sport over all those decades. That’s why the USMNT has failed to achieve actual success at World Cup’s it’s because they aren’t good enough to beat the best European or South American teams. When you look at it USA national sports are those generally only / mostly played in America or Canada , ie American football, ice hockey or baseball .

      It's in support of those that have suffered sexual abuse within the game. There was a report earlier in the week from an investigation that showed the abuse had become systemic in the NWSL

    • @user-zz9xg2ps4t
      @user-zz9xg2ps4t 2 года назад

      USA women's soccer -- the sexual abuse scandal:
      The women’s professional soccer players felt as if they were caught in a vise.
      They could speak up and tell the leaders of the National Women’s Soccer League about coaches who abused their authority and even coerced players into sex - and get ignored.
      Or silently endure abuse so as not to damage a nascent league and harm the fight for equality on the pitch and beyond.
      There seemed to be no way out.
      Players would raise concerns, but the teams, the league and the United States Soccer Federation would either minimize them, blame players for trying to harm the league, or ignore the stories altogether.

    • @user-zz9xg2ps4t
      @user-zz9xg2ps4t 2 года назад

      A yearlong investigation found U.S. Soccer executives, N.W.S.L. owners and coaches at all levels of American soccer had turned a blind eye toward years of reports of abuse from players.
      One coach called in a player to review game film and showed her pornography instead. Another was notorious at the highest levels of women’s soccer for alternately berating his players and then quizzing them about their sex lives.
      A third coach coerced multiple players into sexual relationships, behavior that one top team found so disturbing that it fired him. But when he was hired by a rival team only a few months later, the original club, which had documented his behavior in an internal investigation, said nothing. Instead, it publicly wished him well in his new post.
      Those details and others fill a highly anticipated investigative report into abuse in women’s soccer that found sexual misconduct, verbal abuse and emotional abuse by coaches in the game’s top tier, the National Women’s Soccer League, and issued warnings that girls face abuse in youth soccer as well.

    Now getting shut out by a severely depleted Spanish team. What a fall from grace. The loss of all the veterans is really showing. Even with Morgan, Pugh and Mercario, I don't know if this squad is able to even make a run in the World Cup. Team has very little cohesiveness, and lacks a winning mentality.
