Great tips, the interview is so important, the family you match with will make or break your year! Know who you are and who you will fit with best! Definitely know the expectations of you're role!
I have my au pair (to become an au pair in Berlin) interview in 2hrs and I'm sooo stressed lol. Tysm for this video. PS : your dress is sooo beautiful where is it from?
Hi! Thank you for your video! I am talking with families to become an Aupair in Germany starting from February. I am currently talking to three families (I have Skyped with two and I have my last Skype call tomorrow), and I was just wondering if you could give me any tips on how to decide on a family... For now I honestly love all 3, but I know I am going to have to pick one soon... And I really don’t know how I’ll be able to do it!! And also I don’t know how I will tell the families I don’t pick that I picked someone else... Any recommandations?
Hey, do you feel drawn to one family in particular? I would say choose the family with the most *chill* parents and kids. Haha. You'll be spending A LOT of time with them (obviously) so you want to make sure they respect you and even seem to be more like "friends" than an employer! Tell the other families that you have decided to go with another family. :) You could even tell the family why and they might counter offer! Might be asking a lot, but you never know! Hope this helped!! Good luck!!
Hi Ines I need your help please.3 families are texting me they want to know more about me but I don't know what I should write and do to get the chance to be with one of them.please tell me what I should write and when I will give them the first Skype dating. Thank you
Interviews can be daunting Don't be nervous though!! If the family is a good fit, it will all work out and if not, then you can always try another :) wishing you all the best !!!
Hi your videos are so informative, may I ask you how should I ask a question when it comes to salary especially if my job was live out? How much should I ask they are from Finland. Thank you hope you answer this
Hi¡ I'm looking for a family because i would like to be an aupair in 2021 so i have been watching your videos lately. So you say is best to talk about the contract on the first videocall? I thought that would be for the second one if you felt you matched on the first one, no? Greetings from Colombia :D
hey! that’s awesome :)) In the first call I had with families, we had introductions first and then went straight into discussing details of what they were looking (for which involved the contract). I think it’s always best to be upfront and straight from the beginning. But... this is just from my experience. I’m sure many AuPairs have had calls just to meet the family and get a feel for it. It’s really up to you. :)
Hey!! yeah, families must pay a minimum of 260 euros, I believe, but I was able to counter my offer. I was talking to another family and they had agreed to pay me 350, so I told the family I ended up choosing and they agreed to pay me that as well if I chose them. Haha. :)
@@aimeemaria2806 per month. it's called pocket money. definitely not enough to sustain yourself independently. the family should be providing room and board though, so you wouldn't' have those costs.
Hey!! I'm not sure about in London, but Germany requires AuPairs receive "pocket change" of at least 260 euros per month. The family also must provide room & board!
to be an aupair, you must have A1 level proficiency in German. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. I didn't have to speak or show proof of my german knowledge when obtaining my visa!
@@savtuma omw my very first interview went so well, super excited for my next interview next week Saturday. Thanks for the tips Savannah, really helped a lot 🥰🇿🇦🙌🏽
Hey, a reference is someone you can contact about someone's work experience, work habits, character, and skills. If the family has had previous AuPair(s), you can ask the family if they would give you them as a reference. They would then give you their email address or number to see if the previous AuPair had an overall good experience. Hope this helped! Thanks for reaching out :)

Every family on AuPair World that I have looked at says I would get paid €280. How did you end up getting €350?
