    Yes the key is mutual respect and communication. This starts in the interview process. I'm a host mom and an engineering intern mom (I've had 100s of college age young adults in my home over the last 20 years), and I do a lot of communication and over communication of what my family is like and what our expectations are. I then ask the same of them. The fit is key, it's like dating or interviewing a roommate. If the fit is good, it's a great set up and then just continue the communication and empathy from there.

      Yes you’re right but as an au pair mostly we have it difficult because of the family .the way of how the family approach you is very important because if I get treated as a family member I would really love what I’m doing

      @@joy9367 yes being family is the spirit of the program and not every family does this. Id encourage au pairs to ask if you will be treated as a family member, ask them to describe what this is like. What's dinner like, how r vacations handled. Grocery shopping. Asking lots of questions on both sides is key.

    Hi, how much does a host family pay to get an aupair?

    • @rebekahcummings9234
      @rebekahcummings9234 4 года назад +4

      It costs a host family between $25,000 - $30,000 American dollars a year. About $9,000 in agency fees. A little over $10,000 in weekly stipend to the au pair. $500 for education. And $5,000 - $10,000 a year in food, utilities, gifts, adding them to car insurance, gas, gym memberships, taking an extra adult on vacations, etc. Many host parents don't like the term "cheap childcare" because for most Americans this is very expensive. It's reasonably priced compared to a live-in nanny, but most au pairs don't have the experience of a professional nanny and there is a far bigger emotional and mental cost to hosting.

    • @melinakhoury4947
      @melinakhoury4947 4 года назад +1

      Depends on the country. In USA is around 10,000 dollars pocket money the year plus the acommodation in your house. You can find the aupair in aupairworld so you won’t need an agency. You pay a subscription I think is 100 dollars and you can find a lot of aupairs from different countries without an agency. An aupair is not expensive because she/he will work in us I think the maximun is 45h/week for less than 1000 dollars. If you have to contract a nanny she you will have to pay per hour.

    Hello i just matched with a family i realy like them and they like me too so we did 3 video calls and chated on whatsup by messaging .but after that they do not answer to my messages often they send me a message like "we were vising our familly this weekend we will get back to you soon " after that we did not talk kz they work as doctors the familly has an au pair already but she is going this November . The thing iam worried about are they really going to get back to me kz they have already made a grp in Wstsup to talk with me and give me the whatsup number of their au pair i talk to here often.
    I understand they are very busy and i say to myself just wait they maybe are not ready to start the process since their au pair is not going yet until November but iam worried that they will not going to get back to me please help is it worth to wait since they said that they are going to get back to me thank you .

      Well, you are in luck! Because this "slightly older" 😉 woman is definitely interested in being an Au Pair or Nanny!😎 I however do not have any kind of application or anything along those lines, on any of the websites or Apps that exist on the internet that is meant for those looking to work in this field of work. I do mean it when I say I am in fact interested in looking for a host to emlloy me. I would like to say that if you, or if you know anyone interested in discussing this more, by all means do hmu and feel free to maybe DM me through either email ( pandorawalker78@gmail.com ), maybe if you're curious about I spose seeing a bit better who you are talking to by checking out my Instagram and DM me (@pandorazsheneniganz6978) to talk more easily & privately.
      (I do wish to add that if you or anyone messages me, to bare with me if its a couple days before I reply, but I will definitely keep an eye out for any messages sent 😊)

    Lady this is work not a vacation. Do you go to your full time job expecting to be bought a car and a cell phone and to go on vacation? I don’t want another child to take care of, i need someone to take care of a child. Nobody wants to work anymore, this generation thinks work is a fun place you go to, i got news for you.
