I personally think this is the best horror movie ever. Midsommar is also a great one. Ari Aster wrote and directed both.

I love the horror that’s not in your face. Most people don’t even catch on and then some do. Like everybody always sees Annie in the corner in the living room, but I barely see people see her in the corner in the bedroom 😂

Hi Marc! Hereditary is actually a noun that means,"What you inherit from your ancestors like genetics. DNA. Hair color. Good teeth. Height. Traits." Not "heir". An heir inherits money, wealth, titles...those kinds of things. I hope that helps a little! 😁

Marc, I am surprised this is the first movie you have seen with Toni Colette. She has been in The Sixth Sense & Little Miss Sunshine & Muriel's Wedding and many other movies. This movie is so disturbing and difficult to watch. You did a good job.

This film is so great, but so damn depressing. Also, you said English is not your first language, but it is perfect!

Thank you so much, yeah I’ve spoken English for a majority of my life so definitely second language but sometimes I do trip over words a bit or have to think a little longer than usual to express what I want to say, but that’s a big compliment, thank you very much.
Hereditary definitely one of the more depressing movies I have watched but also top 3 horror movies so far. Thanks for watching 😉

This is one of my favorites. I now look forward to anything Ari Aster directs, and Toni Collette has been one of my favorite actresses for a long time. So glad this video was recommended to me! I look forward to more reactions. 😊

The meaning of the word Hereditary generally means a person "inherits" through a genetic DNA mechanism a trait or traits from their parents or grandparents, or further back in one's parental lineage a trait or traits that are generally good, but can also inherit a bad physical or psychological issue - like depression or psychosis, etc. I haven't seen the film yet, but it looks good.

24:38 well the worst that could happen is she dies. That’s why she wanted him to do it. She was trying to sacrifice herself.

To me real horror isn't jumpscares, but the fear and dread a movie makes you feel. You can literally get jumpscared by a random sound or a ball flying towards you, that doesn't mean those 2 things are scary to you. That's why I deslike most cliche modern horror movies wich rely way too much on jumpscares.
The jumpscares in this movie work perfectly because it actually had alot of build up and feelings of dread way before the first jumpscare even happened

Annie's mother was the leader of a cult that worships Paimon (see "Goetia"). Her goal was to bring Paimon into this world. To this end, she wanted custody over Peter, but Annie did not let her. Annie's mother had to settle for Charile instead. I am not clear if Charlie is gone and Paimon is just using her body or if both Charlie and Paimon are in there (I think the latter). The tongue click is supposed to be the clue as to where Paimon is. Anyway, Paimon wants a male host, and so Charlie isn't going to cut it for the cult, so they therefor engineer her death so that Paimon can move over to Peter. But he is unable to do it for some reason, so Paimon has to get Peter by going through Annie. Joanne made herself Annie's friend so that Annie would try to do her own "séance," thereby opening herself and her immediate family (which is why Joanne told Annie to do it when everyone was in the house) to possession by Paimon. Either it didn't go the way as planned since she summoned Charlie into her own body, or this could be the plan all along to weaken Peter. Paimon takes the weakest person for his host, so when Annie is distraught for incinerating Gabriel Byrne's character, Paimon takes control of her and chases Pater around for some reason. While Peter is in the attic, he gets frightened by what he sees in there and so tries to escape it by jumping through the window; this is not escape, however, because injuring himself made him weaker, allowing Paimon to possess him.

Thanks for the explanation, however because I have thought about the movie quite a number of times after watching this, I have started to figure out most of that already. With movies like these it usually needs to settle in my mind a bit and slowly the pieces of the puzzle fall into place. Thanks for commenting 🙏🏻

Hereditary is my favorite horror film, so I appreciated your reaction so much!! I just feel like this whole movie exemplified dread and grief like no other. Thank you for recognizing Toni Collette as the queen she is!😂 She deserved every acting recognition for this role, but sadly didn’t receive it. You need to watch Ari Aster’s second film,Midsommar. Would love to see you react to it!🙌

Oh yeah...glad you got an introduction to Toni Collette, she is amazing (can you believe she didn't even get nominated for an Oscar for this performance? So lame)...I'd highly suggest watching "The Sixth Sense" with her & Bruce Willis, M. Night Shyamalan directed. Simply incredible. Good reaction, mate...keep it up!
