In Florida we use loxon clear sealer over chalky surfaces. Then we repair the cracks with elastomeric patching compound. Then do two coats of resilience or duration.
@@donschlonski2936 when I say we I'm referring to my people and my company I'm not referring to everybody in the state of Florida. I only can purport what I do.
Appreciate any quick inputs. I am thinking doing color will hide fine grain texture I have. But have cracks and need to fix them. I want to know no of coats of paint, primer option to preserve stucco texture. What primer is best for this. From the video it look like rain refresh paint.
Hello Melissa want to preserve stucco texture and want to go with Rain refresh. The house is never painted as stucco has color. Do I need to apply primer ? what primer you suggest to preserve texture. How many coats of paint needed. Want to seal hairline cracks and preserve stucco texture. Please advise. Appreciate help.
If the stucco is in good shape you don’t need a primer coat. If there’s considerable caulking, consider a primer coat first. SW makes a product called Loxon. It’s an elastomeric paint that bridges and seals hairline cracks in your stucco.
Thank you for your input. I have fine grain texture and don’t want to loose texture. Elastomeric paint is too thick and might loose texture I have. Also Don’t want to use elastomeric paint as I live in Houston more rains and hurricanes. If water gets inside stucco because of roof damage elastomeric paint won’t allow stucco breathing. That is why wanted to do Rain refresh. Stucco is in good shape couple of places there is damage planning to fix those. No caulking or previous paint. Never painted before. If I don’t want to loose stucco texture do I do just rain refresh ? How many coats?
@@akashkaranam1865 your concerns are legit. Yes use rain refresh as it will allow the stucco to breath better than elastomeric paint. And you wont lose the textured stucco look.
Emerald is expensive for consumers - but contractors actually get it for LESS than Behr paint . It’s why they use SW, they get for 1/2 price and overcharge the customer.
What is your paint recommendation? Since you're so much better informed than the Sherwin Williams' rep, I think the rest of us would appreciate your insights.

You can t say "In Florida" like you speak for every painter in the state. Your statement simply isn't true

We have Emerald Rain Refresh and it's a really good paint. Coverage well also.
Use Behr Ultra or Marquee if you want 1 coat coverage.
Sherwin Williams if you want to paint it twice.
Matt paint
Power spray first
What do you mean “power spray”?
Sorry, mind fart, I meant pressure wash!
This chick has no clue what she is talking about 😂
Manny which paint would you recommend?
