Nice vid bro! fully agree theres no replacement for knowing how to nav with a map and compass, but also how to read the land its self. i used to be s**t hot at map reading but been using apps and my watch for the past two years which is easy but make you lose that confidence of map reading. think i might have to book you for a refresh. happy trails dude
A mountain leader is a must to any newcomer (myself) as far as I'm concerned. Granted, technology and apps have their place and I'm sure I'll use them at some stage, but I wouldn't dream of heading into the mountains without the basic navigation and safety skills, among the other experience that a mountain leader can bring
I am going to upload a video soon covering how to use the app to assist in learning ‘basic map reading’. You are right there is nothing better than learning from an experienced person but I also figured I should find a way to support people to use the app more effectively too.
