Super Typhoon Yagi has made a devastating impact on China’s Hainan province, resulting in the deaths of two people and injuring at least 92 others. The storm, recognised as the world's second-strongest tropical cyclone of 2024 with winds reaching up to 245 km/h. After battering China, Yagi made landfall in northern Vietnam. The typhoon uprooted thousands of trees and swept ships and boats out to sea as it hit the provinces of Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, packing winds exceeding 149 km/h.
