- Just another video compilation of me cycling around and flying my DJI Mini 2 SE.
This time I tried flying under low light conditions and hope to give those of you who are curious how it can handle night footage! Sure there is some noise and drop in quality at night due to the smaller sensor size but still able to capture some pretty stunning footage as seen in my video!
Please like if you find this useful and subscribe for more! Hope you enjoy my videos :)
I like the beautiful shots🔥

Obrigado! Hope I’m saying it right 🙏😉
nice bro..
Superb in every respect, makes me realize how much there is to learn. Any chance of some tutorials Leon?
Hi Wiloran, I’m really glad you enjoyed my video, but I’m really just a beginner who bought my first drone and decided to make some videos 😅
Would say that practice and playing around with the drone helps a lot
Thanks Leon, I'm doing much the same but certainly not in your class. I have used iMovie to edit but the effects you have in changing the speed are outstanding. I keep an eye on your work and hopefully pick up some tips in the process? Thanks again.@@Leon_Peh
Hey Bro, can you tell me pls, what settings did you use for record this video? It means like is 1080p/60 fps, or maybe 2700p/30 fps? Thanks, beautiful footage!
I feel like the SE is a prime example of people over emphasizing something. In this case it would be 4K Drones. A lot of people thinking you need 4K at the least. Ignoring a lot of other important factors
Yup I think 2.7k is pretty sufficient for myself who is just getting started into drones and couldn’t justify a couple of hundreds more for higher resolution. I made these videos to show how great the video quality is even it is not 4K nor having a bigger sensor
But to me this looks like 4k or even better than 4k, I'm confused 😅
Well the day and evening clips. Even some of the night clips looks 4k
Most people don’t even have 4k tvs. Most are 1080p.
Beautiful video. Really impressed with the night shots. Did you use any ND filters or night settings? 👍
Thank you 🙏 I did not touch the settings at all! I believe you can try out different settings to see what works better
My mini 2 se has issues with orientation while flying in dark. Interesting how your drone had not problems flying during the night. Perhaps the surrounding was not that dark to mess with the drones's sensor.
I do have to calibrate the drone at night every time it takes off
Question The mini 2 vs mini 2 se if both set at 2.7k could you tell the differents in night footage from both drones or would the mini 2 be better Thanks
Hi I don’t have the mini 2 to compare but from what I understand they have same sensor size which means they might be comparable in low light conditions? However mini 2 have 4K and other features se do not
Hi. Can you tell me which video mode is better 2.7K 30fps or 1080p 60 FPS?
Hi it depends on whether you want a higher resolution or looking to get some slow motion footage
I tried flying my Mini 2 SE drone at night and it would calibrate or it wasn't receiving the proper light ..I don't know... any suggestions or tips
I will have to try it again, in my experience it did prompt me to do a compass calibration every time I tried taking off
Awsome....are you using gopro?
Yes I am ☺️
Mini 2 really? Impressive...
Amazing footage. I am debating between the MINI 2SE and the MINI 3. My big concern was 2.7k vs 4k. Not looking to work or sell services. Your content looks amazing in 2.7k. Any advise or downside to get the 3 instead of the 2SE? Besides the price. Thank your for your help.
Mini 3 is better in many ways, but I was curious about the budget mini 2SE which turns out to be pretty fantastic! There should be no downsides other than the price since the mini 3 has more features such as portrait orientation, better battery and ability to use the better controller with the inbuilt screen. Perhaps a possible downside for the mini 3 is dealing with larger file size 4k footages, but this can be easily changed from the settings
Mini 3
how did you export with this quality? if I have videos on 1080p can I export on 2k reso?
You need to have at least a 2k reso footage within your project if you’re also using Final Cut Pro. In my case my iPhone footage is 4K. Hope it helps 😉
@@Leon_Peh thanks
What iso did you use for night footage?
It is probably shooting at 3200 which is the max iso for this drone since I did not touch the settings. It is on auto mode.
Hello Mr. Peh. As a fellow Mini 2 SE user, do we need a permission to fly around MBS? If none then I would go over there to capture beautiful spots like you did. Thanks and cheers!
PS: You have a fantastic footage!
Hi Chris, yes you can fly here but you have to download the OneMap app to make sure you are not flying at any restricted areas. Also the height limit is 60 meters above sea level. Hope it helps! 🙏
@@Leon_Peh Hello! Thanks for the advice. Will try to download that app. Hope to see more content of yours.
how did you get 60fps the drone only does 30fps is this a timelapse?
Hi, I rendered the video in 60fps using Final Cut
I have the Mini 2 SE and am a bit disappointed with the photo quality (I'm not that interested in videos). Especially in the dark. I would like to upgrade - but does it have to be the Mini 3 Pro or is the Mini 3 enough? Thank you!
Hi, I don’t actually have the mini 3 or mini 3 pro to compare. But a larger sensor size will be able to handle better photos or footage at night
wow, was camera at 2.7k or 1080p?
The mini 2 se has a max resolution of 2.7k, tho I rendered the video in 4K
Does the area where you fly drones have regulations?
Yes there are height limits and other regulations. Better to check before flying
Hi~Leon,
Do I need some permission or a process to flight drone when I visit in Singapore cause I am a Korean.
As long as your drone weighs less than 7 kg you do not need permit. But if your drone weighs more than 250 grams you still need to get it registered before it can be operated in Singapore. Do also check on the no fly zones as well as certain dates which you are not allowed to fly in certain areas
Also take note of the height limit which is 60m above sea level, anything more you need a permit
Why is it 4k? did you upscale?
It is in 4K because I render the drone footage together with other 4K footages. But they are probably still in 2.7k
Is it legal to even fly here? Is it flying within 60m ?
Yes, checked the one map app for the no fly zones. I’ve set the height limit to 60m too
On top of that there are also dates that you’re not supposed to fly drones around certain areas especially when it is nearer to the National Day parade.
@@Leon_Peh just checked but seem places u flied isn't available. Also when checked as restricted areas many areas seems to be no fly zones as well. Wondered if places like ECP is ok or sentosa or even the places u flew
@@nksg92 The places that I flew are currently red on the map which means Temporary Restricted Area (TRA). While you tap on it you can find the date and timings you should not be flying due to NDP rehearsals
@@Leon_Peh oh okok ! Thnx man! I planned to get mini 3 that's why. I understand if it's more th 249 g need approval/permit from caas. If wanna fly above mbs, need to get caas permit right?
do you need any permission to fly in singapore?
As long your drone is less than 250g, fly below the height limit of 60m, and check on prohibited areas, you should be fine 😉
ruclips.net/video/AAyj0cxd8OA/видео.htmlsi=ib1xpZO1wwh8ucbM
Ini juga hasil mini 2 SE malam hari
No need permit to fly there?
No permit as long you’re flying within height limit of within 60m above sea level and unrestricted zones. Need to download the one map app to check
Wish the video was in 1080p :( 360p kinda sucks
The video is still processing, watch it again in 4K after an hour or two!
@@Leon_Peh i see mini 2 se is 2.7k and not 4k
Yes indeed the overall video was rendered in 4K tho
Adam Türkçe konuşuyor Türkler heryerde
Thanks for watching and enjoying my video 🙏
Music gave me a headache
Glad you mentioned! Will use soothing music in future videos like this 😆
It’s 2.7k/30fps “Not 360p”. ¡¡¡ Singapore is beautiful!!!
yanda duranlar Türkçe konuşuyor şaka mı ? 😀😀
Haha it’s a little crowded that day with a number of tourists, couldn’t make up what they were talking too. You must have sharp ears! 😆
I think flying drone there is prohibited
No its not! But if you fly now during NDP rehearsals it IS prohibited
