My neighbor used to have a older Subaru WRX with straight pipe, it sounded like a big block V8 when starting :) So yes a 4 cylinder boxer engine can sound really good...
I didn't think these 4 calendars were that good until the other day at work. Got to take out one and it was just fun. It's not stupid fast but it's quick. Has exhaust crackles and everything haha. I'm also used to driving the 6 cycleder on a 2006 Boxter S
Sounds pretty good to me but I don’t like how everyone is tuning in the pops , I think it would be too much after a while and make me crazy. Take the pops out and it’ still sounds good. Leave that to the Honda crew
With our tune you can specify more or less pops (or none). Also, the factory Porsche tune has pops, but if you switch the drive mode to comfort there are no pops.
Absolutely! This whole system will fit your car, and we make a few other systems that will too, like our Valvetronic Exhaust! www.fabspeed.com/fabspeed-motorsport-porsche-718-valvetronic-exhaust-system/
Never sound like a porsche 🤣 how many cylinders do the early ones have Einstein. Let me tell you. 4. Get over this six cylinder crap. I drove a 718 s and it was epic. And before you answer yes I do have a flat six.
Benefits of a high quality catted setup: -90% of the power and exhaust flow that a straight pipe would have -louder than stock but not to raspy -No check engine light -No smell -Passes emissions tests in most states -Keeps your bumper cleaner Benefits of a catless setup: - ~3% more power -much louder than stock Drawbacks of a catless setup: -May be too loud and raspy for your taste -Check engine light (we and many other companies will NOT tune out a check engine light due to EPA regulations and fines) -smell and fumes -dirty rear bumper -will not pass an emissions test in any state
i live in vietnam and emission doesnt really matter:) however, can you further explain why would a catless setup make the rear bumper dirty? and will an ecu tune from u guys fixes check engine light?
No, not true at all. a PDK equipped Cayman or Boxster sounds just fine and performs better. Manual clutch-based transmissions are a leftover relic from the time before good automatics. Sure, some people like them, but others prefer the PDK.
@@derekyam1805 had my 987.2 back in the day in stick and boy do you get sick of it quick when daily driving LA rush hour a few times 😮💨 Fun for the weekend though
I really can't live with this sound. Inside is even worse compared to previous gen cars that howl like a Porsche sports cars should. I don't care how responsive turbocharged engine is if i want to go fast or accelerate quickly i'd get an EV.
Porsche is Flat 6, Flat 4, V8, I4, and even a Flat 8. It's all within the Porsche DNA. The Porsche 356 was a flat-four. Subaru stole this sound, not the other way.
I didn’t know a four cylinder could sound so good
Have you not heard of Subaru?
My neighbor used to have a older Subaru WRX with straight pipe, it sounded like a big block V8 when starting :) So yes a 4 cylinder boxer engine can sound really good...
Don’t get me wrong I like the way this sounds stock but fabspeed took it to another level 😍
Sounds like an exhaust leak tractor
+1 .. Not bad! Gone is the WRX-Esque exhaust note. The new exhaust tone sounds all its own; 718 Cayman S. .. Good job Fabspeed.

Honestly doesn’t sound bad stock. Sounds like the older air cooled 911s imo
does your downpipe bolt directly up with the stock PSE?
Absolutely it does, check it out here: www.fabspeed.com/fabspeed-porsche-718-boxster-cayman-hjs-sport-catalytic-converter-2017/
How is interior drone?
Not that bad, truthfully. That being said everyone's sensitivity varies!
can you reuse the stock sport exhaust tips on the system?
No you cannot sorry.
Anything for 2018 Cayman base?
Absolutely! This whole system will fit your car, and we make a few other systems that will too, like our Valvetronic Exhaust!

@@FabspeedMotorsport I’m curious how the exhaust changes in sport/sport+? The turbo back system doesn’t appear to utilize the PSE valves, no?
Sounds a little better, but not as good as the 6-cylinder models.
exactly. will never sound like a porsche, no matter what fancy metal pipes you screw to the back of it.
@@johnpoo1662 The first 718 also had a F4
just appreciate the damn engine before go full ev. in 2025 porsche already comfirm it release full eletric boxter/cayman. so stf

Close to sti sound..
why not a catless setup?
Benefits of a high quality catted setup:
-90% of the power and exhaust flow that a straight pipe would have
-louder than stock but not to raspy
-No check engine light
-No smell
-Passes emissions tests in most states
-Keeps your bumper cleaner
Benefits of a catless setup:
- ~3% more power
-much louder than stock
Drawbacks of a catless setup:
-May be too loud and raspy for your taste
-Check engine light (we and many other companies will NOT tune out a check engine light due to EPA regulations and fines)
-smell and fumes
-dirty rear bumper
-will not pass an emissions test in any state

@@caominh2874 Simple- dirtier exhaust. The term catalytic converters means something. You know, the ‘conversion’ part.
No car will ever sound as good when it's not a stick shift. Everyone knows it's true,

I've been driving stick my whole life, got my Cayman in a PDK, you just can't beat it.
