I was always curious about Pipers time in prison too. Im pretty sure in season 1 it was 15 months (or was it 13 just like the real Piper?) but knew that it was likely extended after season 2 (the whoel Chicago thing....). Good to finally know that its only been 10ish months over the 5 years because other than this season, as sense of timing is difficult to grasp (Only the odd 'mothers day' or 'thanksgiving' etc have helped). Bring on at least 2 more seasons with Taylor please.
I hope we get to see Piper outside of prison as well! I would love to see how she adjusts to her new life and being free. And how it will affect her relationship with Alex etc.
I don't think Taylor has her facts right. Piper was indeed sentenced to 15 months, both on the show and real life. and on the show Alex mentioned that Piper only has 3 months left on her sentence. so if no time was added to her sentence than she's been in there for 12 months. but if it was extended to 18 months, than she's been in there for 15, not 10
In season 4 Alex mentioned she had 6 months but that much time did not seem to pass. I think they are quite loose in terms of prison sentences/how long Piper has been in there so makes sense that Taylor is a bit unsure. I was May-June in the beginning of season 3, in season 4 Alex said she had been telling Piper for months that Kubra would find her so doesn't make sense that its still summer at the end of season 4....TV creative licensing at its best haha
All actors here play so well. And the chemistry between Pipes and Alex so very strong, so all fans want them to be together in real life too. Well done I complete the movies just last week. This is 2020 lol....😉
My friends and daughter have been bugging me to watch this series forever! And from beginning to end this show is absolutely AMAZING! The writers/producers are very talented. Itll have you laughing until your sides hurt and crying like a baby in a single episode. The Actors, also very talented 👏. I look forward to season 6 & 7. Hurry up Netflix! 😁

For such a political type season, though Piper was still of course relevant, even in the riots, I'd think people like Taystee or Janae would be more front and center. Doesnt really matter though because the lineup on the design is still very fitting!

I agree, but technically she is the main protagonist. I do think that possibly Taystee should’ve have been front and centre because she did start the entire riot. However the show is loosely based on Piper Kerman’s story and Piper Chapman is the one that started it all in season 1.

Also, the blonde Amish girl (I forget her name), she's freaking EVIL, not just "stupid". Her, and her fellow methhead friend. Honestly, I feel bad for Pennsatucky. And, I never thought that I would, based on the first season. Also, hate me if you want to, but I liked Pornstache a lot more than Healy. Healy was freaking cold-blooded. As for Piscatella: after seeing his backstory, I sort of get why he is like that. I've heard prison changes people, and looks like what I heard was right. Dang. :(.

Imo, all of them should have the same crazy person stigma as crazy eyes but unfortunately the rest are seen as variations of normal when it's clearly not and in that frame even Suzanne should be considered normal. Pennsatucky developed real nice tho. It's shocking but just in the realm of believable. It's hard to believe she's the same character from season 1.
Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy …..and Orange is the New Black…….. my mount Rushmore of great TV. Honestly, if you would’ve told me, I would’ve loved a show that is based in a woman’s prison was seriously going to be one of my favorite shows of all time I would not have believed you. It’s a great show and there were so many great actors on the show. I’m re-watching it right now and when I get to season four I’m just amazed at how good the acting is because I forget I’m watching a show and my emotions are fully invested. Both the girls in the actors that play the prison guards are just phenomenal.
I was really disappointed by how they treated the guards and how they acted when the riot was going on - it was a mad house - total chaos and they abused , humiliated and tortured the guards when they had the chance . Showed they were no better than the people who abused them
"SPOILER ALERT"!!! The character Crazy Eyes was, at least, 50% responsible for Poussey's death (although, it was totally unnecessary for that guard to have a knee in Poussey's back). And, judging from past seasons, Crazy Eyes' moments of "clarity" this season have been greatly diminished. I still like the "Crazy Eyes" character, but now it's time for her to be placed in an institution for the criminally insane
AGREED!!! She shouldn't be in a regular prison. I just discovered a book called 'Black is The New Orange' By Anita Shanelle that revealed how criminals and those who need psychiatric treatment go hand in hand almost 50% of the time. It's an interesting read.
Here's my 2 cents, Suzanne should be in a Mental institution or some alternative because I don't think she deserves to be in prison, her sister maybe for neglegence because Susanne wasn't ready to be left alone. For Bailey I think it's the Prison's fault more than it is his, they hired untrained naive gaurds (ex Bailey) and put a huge responsibilty in their hands that they would handle without finesse resulting in stuff like Poussey's death.
