  • Turning the original Sagola 4600 into the new Sagola 4600 with the Clear Pro cap, a far few people asked me to do a video actually using the new cap in the old gun, as you can see, it works very well and is no different to the original with the same cap, I hope you enjoy the video.Thanks for watching everyone. It really is appreciated 👍

      Hi Scott, I genuinely enjoy seeing what, if any, the differences are between different guns, in this case, the old and the new.
      Manufacturers will often tell you it's "all new" , sometimes it is, often it isn't, nothing wrong with not changing things much, I'm fully behind that to be honest as it makes what you already have more updateable if you want to, especially when, in the case of Sagola, its excellent anyway 😉 .
      Thanks for watching mate, it is appreciated 👍

      Hi Steve, There's a few, really, but the Wider4L and LPH400 spring to mind in the full-size category, mainly because they run at low pressures, having said that, many run them at more pressure, this obviously increases the overspray

    Hello Sir, excellent video, I don’t think I’ll be changing caps around, because I shoot primarily single stage. I did get in the new 4600, and am definitely ready to put some paint through it. The other one I picked up as well, is the 4100 xtreme pressure pot gun. With my projects getting bigger as you’ve seen, I need longer shooting times, and pressure pots will definitely achieve that. When I get some shot, I’ll send you a message, and let you know how we’re getting on with it. Cheers Sir, take care

    Great video, I'm curious to see what type of finish the guns can get with all applications of the paint process. Or at least cleared over base. I know flow coating makes clear look flawless pretty much with any gun. Nevertheless great video 👍

      Hi buddy, I only have the new gun with one cap, the Clear Pro cap, I will get a chance to use it on base and clear, but the main purpose of this video was to show the people that asked, that swapping the cap centers over works perfectly well, the gun cap seals fine and all measurements as the same of old and new.
      My next task with be seeking how the Titania Pro cap compares to the Clear Pro cap, so the same component side by side as I suspect the new cap can give a flatter finish.
      Thanks, buddy. I appreciate it 👍

    Hi Pete, great video as usual mate with lots of useful info for anyone looking to get the new 4600 that already has the Extreme, I recon that Sagola missed a trick here with the new gun as I don't think they banked on people like yourself figuring out that the inner cap is the same size on both guns so all they did was to change the outer bezel🤦‍♂😅
    I can just imagine all the top people at Sagola huddled around a table in the boardroom thinking of a way to silence you by offering you bags of money💰to retract your video then recalling all the current tip sets out there and changing the size of the inner cap😨🤣

    • @peteshobbies5383
      @peteshobbies5383  4 месяца назад +2

      Hi John, Yeah, I'm not sure whether they will be annoyed or quite happy. It does seem from what I'm hearing that the new caps do perform better than the old, so I'm sure Sagola will be selling lots of caps at a list price of over £100 plus tax which must be quite lucrative.
      Someone has said their new 4600 Digital is 4g heavier than there 4600 Xtreme, so I think only the none digital is lighter by a little.
      I'm rather happy with what Sagola has done, I have always liked my Sagola 4600 Xtreme, and this just means it is as good as it's ever been, and all my tip sets fit 😀
      Cheers mate 👍

    • @JohnWD40TC02
      @JohnWD40TC02 4 месяца назад +1

      Haha!! it might be the case then that they still give you bags of dosh to promote the fact that the new air caps will fit the old gun and use your video as a demo on how it's done, either way mate it's a win win for you👌😎😂
      I would like the new 4600 but I've decided my next (2) gun(s) will be the Porphis 717 and the 625, I may even wait a bit longer then get them both at once as it will be a bit cheaper I'm in no hurry to get them, I also want the MMC4 as well🤦‍♂mate I better start selling some body parts🤔😂thanks Pete👍

    Hi Pete you are absolutely correct. You can interchange the air cap centers. And they spray the same. Comparing the 4600 digital to the 4600 digital xtreme in terms of weight: My 4600 digital seems to actually be about 4 grams heavier than its xtreme digital counterpart. All this said I absolutely love my Sagolas., Xtreme and 4600. No matter what cap I put on them old or new they make my life easy. And they have such a wide range of use and versatility. Thank you for the videos and for taking the time to tell it like it is!

      Hi Mate, I quite like the fact that not much has changed. The cap does most of the work, and being able to retrofit the caps is, imo great 👍
      I haven't got the new version in digital and had assumed it would be lighter than the Xtreme but sounds like it's not, it is with the none digital version, thanks for confirming all this, it gives people other opinions than just mine which is always a good thing, cheers buddy 👍

    Hi Pete, I've discovered a strange phenomenon with using upol s2080 & s2086 clear coats, I've tried many attempts at mixing my filler ratios, I've tried different fillers, I've tried longer drying times & many sealers & primers, every time i paint over a repaired area, (only happens with white & lights colours) It has a horrible reaction with the filler beneath and stains my base & clear a horrible orange/ yellow colour, looks like someone's pissed on it. I've tried another brand of clear I had and it seems to have fixed my staining bleeding problem from the filler. Have you ever had a similar problem & do you have any recommendations on a Good brand of clear i could switch to?
    Regards

      @peteshobbies5383  3 месяца назад

      Hi Mate, I hadn't had a problem , I rarely do whites, I sometimes do a couple of different Honda 3 stage pearlescent whites and haven't had a problem.
      I use Upol 2025 primer most of the time, normally leaving it till the next day for base and clear, although if it's a bumper corner on the car, it's just lamped for 30 minutes and ok to go depending on ambient temperature.
      The problem of clears on whites going yellow is often bought up, some clears seem to do it, others not, it also depends on the paint system as well.
      If you after a good clear that isn't too expensive, try the Kapci 6030, it's very good and not too expensive, I can't say it it will help with your particular setup but may be worth a try, you can get little 1 1/2 litre kits

      The DVR Clear cap had what I thought was a baffle missing. It turns out it didn't have one as standard, but Sagola was good enough to send me all the information on how the caps should be put together, so the seal definitely goes at the front, cheers mate 👍
