9 months late, but there's actually quite a good amount of info on the boys' pre-Gizzard projects than you may have been able to find (I'm only 30 minutes into the video so apologies if you touch upon these later) Stu was in two other notable projects, Revolver & Sun (along with Cookie) and Almacknjack. Both groups have ancient live performances you can find by searching em up on RUclips. Stu is on guitar for both and is not a singer. Almacknjack have an album named The Taste of an Orange that can be found on here. They made a silly home made video for their song Glockenspiel, if you ever want to be cursed with the knowledge of a short haired Stu. Revolver & Sun's singer was a curly haired guy named Fraser A. Gorman, who I'm pretty sure is the guy you said "Who are you?" to at 29:36! There's a cute video of Stu playing acoustic guitar with an old man and the band, which appears to have been uploaded by Cookie on his old youtube channel. They never put out a full project, but various songs by them have been uploaded, including an early version of the Gizzard song Crying, which apparently started as a song for this group. Eric was in a group called The Lexies, which don't have much info on them online, but there are photos and a couple songs out there. There's pretty funny ancient MS Paint music videos Eric made for their songs Ah Ah Ah and The Tap. Ambrose and Lucas were in a band pre-Murlocs and Gizz called Sambrose Automobile. They released a full length album and two EPs. Lukey isn't the vocalist, but he does sing lead on their song Bone Broke. Lucas had another old project named Your Ailing Girls' Heart, but all info about it has been lost to time thanks to the great Myspace purge of 2018. That was a whole lot of info to dump onto you but I figured if anyone wanted to hear it it would be you lmao. hope you found it useful and neat! there's sooo much deep hidden lore about the boys pre-Gizzard that is just sitting out there on the internet waiting to be unearthed. It's a deep rabbit hole to go into!
Fun fact as I'm continuing to watch, the account that uploaded the Pop in My Step and Float Along performances at 52:43 under the username Bootleg Steve is actually.. Jason Galea! it's funny you mentioned him so quickly after this footage was put on screen
@@eyeballdad8712 Hell yea dude, thanks for these facts!! That's the tough part about researching bands in the Internet age - there's so many old abandoned pages to find and ID lol
Was loooking for something watch, this showed up. STOKED to find this. The world always needs more gizz documentaries, this is an insane work load. Respect. So extensive and detailed. Fuckin crazy
This band is so artistically productive and experimental it's not just astonishing, but honestly inspiring. I didn't really get into their music from the studio albums, but now I'm intrigued to give them a second chance via their live recordings. Rewatching this enormous video will definitely come in handy looking up the right concerts that'll suit my taste. Great job!
This is fabulous! My wife and I really enjoyed watching this. Took a few sittings, but it was never boring. The best Gizz documentary going packed with keen insights and led by a highly attuned ear
This is fantastic. I thought I knew a lot about KGLW based on my obsession over the past 2.5 years, but I learned a ton more from this video. Great job with the info and footage. 💚🐊
I’m only like 1/4th through this video, but this is seriously impressive. Amazing vid!!! Edit: Dope fuckin vid, tgough im kinda surprised you didnt mention Stu’s flute solo or Joey’s guitar solo at Bonnaroo 2022. Those are transcendant moments
How did I not find this any sooner? I'm 30 minutes in and I'd seen bits from that 2010 performance but hearing Stu namedroping their name there, and then having 14 years of hindsight is bonkers, they've come a loooong way and your video might become an all-timer for the fanbase tracking their rise. Specially with how special their last tour was, kudos! can't wait to watch the whole thing
@j.avocado Thanks man!! Unfortunately, this video was finished at the end of last year so there's none of the newest stuff - should prolly slap that disclaimer in the title. I'm def gonna talk about more of their tours in the future tho!
@@reziorenjiRight on! i legit thought this was a newer video. their last American tour might be another milestone or point of culmination, it feels like they are evolving into something else and we don't quite know what it is yet, specially with the integration of their synth table. can't wait to know what it will be and I'm sure you'll bring thoughtful insights whenever it happens!
Lol thank you!! And keep in mind, this is the stuff I saw fit to discuss - there's so, SO much more cool shit they got up to on the road that I couldn't easily fit in haha
Amazing and thorough Deep dive! That first 30 minutes alone with the history of the Melbourne scene was worth watching along but there is so much more here that it took a couple of sittings to take in. Also I admire the restraint you had for not taking deeper digs at jam festival wooks XD
Thank you so much!! And I try to be an empathetic guy on this channel, even for those who reek of patchouli and are zonked out on some psychedelic throughout the day haha
This video is so cool!!! It was really interesting to hear about the bands early years in deep detail and some of the years that I'm less familiar with live. Also it was cool to see someone else talk about the prague 2022 show, that show is so good!!!
Brilliant video Rezi! Hope you get more attention from the music essay/retrospective sphere. Only minor nitpick is at 2:04:33 when you get Daff and Jamie from ORB mixed up lol
I know this isn't related to the current video, and I apologize for the wall of text ahead, but thank you for your retrospective of Kiss. I saw Kiss about a year or two ago for the first time at a music festival and became an instant fan, after that I tried finding more information on where to go on a deep dive into the band's history and found your videos (which were put together much better than any others out there) to help on my journey. That caused me to find out about my new all time favorite drummer Eric Carr and it was a shame I didn't know about him much sooner, I then bought tickets for myself and some relatives to see Kiss live this year, that show was a blast! And the final part of my long, somewhat incoherent babbling praise for your channel, my little sister and I did our own makeup for the concert; my sister was Gene Simmons and i was, you guessed it.... Eric Carr. That show was around 2-3 days after the anniversary of Eric Carr's passing and people were coming up to me talking about said anniversary and how much they loved him, they even complimented me on my makeup work and i had those conversations ten different times at the venue. It was truly a magical experience and you were the guy who opened the door for that to happen for me, thank you.
This deserves, SOOO many more views, great stuff man!

I’m watching this in parts but also going back to their entire catalog and internet archive shows to prep myself more for this! Thank you Rezi!! 😊
You are incredible! I can’t believe you made this whole video 🤯 So well made! Loved all of it! Thank you ❤
This is such a great video!
4 hours 30 minutes long?! I could get through like… 5 king gizz albums while watching this! Jokes aside, good video. Hope to see more!

@@reziorenji You should totally make an addendum sometime with all the extra stuff. Call it the king gizz history jam track

The Prague show's really underrated! Listening to it, you wouldn't know Stu was possibly minutes away from an unhappy accident onstage 😛

Hey friend! I love all your Kiss videos... Will you be returning to doing Kiss videos?
I know this isn't related to the current video, and I apologize for the wall of text ahead, but thank you for your retrospective of Kiss. So when does Kiss show up?
When I get to 2,000 patrons or 10,000 RUclips subs.
At the wedding reception they do I Was Made For Loving You.
@@robertbond6872 fuck, that was a missed opportunity for me lmao
