  • Dr.Evadne Hinge and Dame Hilda Bracket were the stage personae of the musical performance and female impersonation artists Gorge Logan and Patrick Fyffe.Active in theatre, radio and television between 1972 and Fyffe's death in 2002,this comic partnership entertained the public in the guise of two elderly eccentric spinsters.

This is almost the recorded show released on the LP of the same year, should anyone want to own it, and other songs, re-released on CD on recent years, simply called "Hinge and Bracket".
The Listener should then be able to visualise the imagined scenes for himself, after viewing this.

I am a HUGE fan of the art and artists of drag. Living in the US I am in fear of my access to my drag tv shows being shut down with this insane person and his sick cronies running our government. Can you imagine entertainment like Hinge and Brackett being ILLEGAL? Or unfit for the eyes and ears of children? Part of childhood is pretending! Children understand the joy of dressing as someone else and letting the costume dictate a new personality! Adult humans put in full drag undergo some astonishing realizations about themselves. They come out of it more balanced than ever before. They let all facets of their personalities out to play and it seems to bring a new sense of confidence within them. They KNOW themselves better. The makeover challenges on the shows I watch are VERY emotional and happy episodes. People letting their souls out to play is such a life affirming thing to see.
Drag brings me great joy. The last decade has been rough for me. Losing my son, losing my housing and worsening health to say nothing of the dire social conditions the trump cadre seem to revel in exacrebating has beaten my sense of fair play and integrity to a pulp. Drag has been there. With the international franchises of Drag Race I rarely go more than a week without a new episode from somewhere in the world. It's kept me sane. I'm disabled and it curtails my creativity. I live vicariously thru these creative humans!
I deeply and respectfully apologize to the rest of the world for the abject stupidity and gullibility of the average American stooge who have seen fit to inflict this cancer on the world. If you bomb us out of existence for electing such a sick and obscene and perverted regime I do not blame you. This hate is contagious. I hope no other country gets as infected as we are right now. As a senior who has been disabled since my teens and living off the government I am in fear of losing part or all of those benefits. That means death. A slow painful death. People like me will choose to self-delete rather than starve. I'm already camping in a sister's spare room after being priced out of my home of 11 yrs in the middle of a cataclysmic housing shortage. Our city parks are tent cities. Stable working FAMILIES living in tents. It's 26°. At least it's dry at the moment. But it's NW Oregon. A temperate rainforest. The rain is neverending. Cold and dry is bad enough. Cold and wet is no way for a human to live in a civilized(?) nation in 2025. We should never have allowed this hate back in office. I voted for Kamala and hope.

There are some days when I have a need, deep down inside, to wallow in utter joy and take a trip down memory lane with those wonderful 'ladies'. Such joy! Their rendition of Land of Hope and Glory always brings me such a top feeling. So, that's me had my fix now and I feel ontop of the world. Gosh, they simply don't make them like that any more.

A sing along of Land of Hope and Glory would have been totally appropriate in a British music hall of the early 20th century. They were masters of the world (Leastways in their own eyes) with an empire on which the sun never set.
