- The sad and early passing of Patrick Fyffe brought to an end a partnership which could have - otherwise - coninued for much longer. They were two relatively young men whose act required them to play two ageing 'ladies'. The humour was quietly amusing and the innuendos most beautifully down-played.
Sadly, in the world which surrounds us now, it is probable that 'a few' people may take offence. That is sad, and a loss on THEIR part.
Rest in Peace 'Dear Ladies'. Much missed but never forgotten.
Utterly delightful, thank you.. My dad was headteacher at Great Budworth school where the series was partly filmed. Great memories.
Just wonderful. I had the pleasure of staying with George at his guesthouse in south France. He was very humble about their achievement. I think Hinge and Brackett are one of the best double acts ever
I always meant to do that...very glad to hear it was as I'd hoped it would be.
Gosh. Miss Patrick so much. What a delight you both are. Tiddly Pom!❤️❤️
As a new fan I'm loving these 2 guys so much. They were very talented.
Simply fabulous, Thank-you.
What a treat to hear this❤ brings back memories of laughter!🤣🤣 I've been searching for a particular sketch of theirs "The Trouble with Donkeys"... it's stayed in my mind for over 30 years😄 hope to find it one day, thank you for sharing this delightful " interview"🙂🌹🌹🌹
I wonder if they dressed in character when doing a radio interview.
Amazing, loved these two, so many fantastic double entendres , hilarious character names ( Vesta bules etc :), and fantasy life stories in such detail, I used to watch in the mid 80s with my dear mum and always had a laugh with her , doing a dame Hilda impression on and off for decades, how did you get to know them Richard?
I love the subtle, sly humor!
Is this taken from Hinge and bracket At home sessions?
Hi, what year is this from?
Hello, this interview was conducted in 1988.
I was lucky to attend a Hinge & Bracket performance in Toronto back in the 80's- such fun!
What a very peculiar Act.
You think so? Seems perfectly normal to me.
Not peculiar, but highly orginal and greatly appreciated by British audiences!
