I'm so happy we've helped loads of people. Can't imagine what the next game is gonna be like... I know from experience the end game of FF7 is ridiculous lol. So dunno how they are gonna turn that into challenges.

Took a bit to get used to Sephi's controls, but got this on my third try! My cloud setup: Rune Blade - HealingMagnify, MP Up, Revival, Precision Defense, Steadfast Block Cetran Bracer - ElementalFire and Ice, ElementalLightning and Wind, Time, Empowerment, ATB Boost, First Strike Chockoking's Cape Started each round with Cloud hasting Sephi, ATB Boost, then Bravery. That way I always had one ATB in the tank for emergency heals. Also set up reraise on Bahamut and Odin and ended up not needing them at all. Super fun! Only have the Zack fight left now.
I saw this recently and wanted an excuse to play the game again, I went for a limit build with limit siphon and expeditionary medal on Cloud. Depending on the fight I had Seph back up to a full limit by the time Cloud was finishing his and this challenge became easy lol. Used the synergy attacks whenever I needed manawall back and repeated limits. I think magic builds with Genji ring is faster although this was a lot of fun. 10/10 would recommend imo. Thanks for putting this up, really appreciated it.

here was the key to my strat succeeding: USE SYNERGY! since it makes sephiroth’s MP cost 0, use reraise on both cloud and sephiroth. then play risky. it’s a good, no-risk, cushion of protection. damage-wise, this strat is undoubtedly INSAAAANE! Good work Solestro.
@@nevermore8745 when you get the 3 little pips on your bar for both characters by using 3 atb bars on both. You can use the synergy attack where Sephiroth gets infinite MP for a short time and cloud gets 1 level on his limit.
Made sure to do that once got to Bahamut and Odin. Even brought the Phoenix out with Odin just for the additional pressure. I was not about to lose that fight 😅
Seph is so OP you can literally put nothing on Cloud and still win.. heck, you can leave Cloud out entirely and wash the npc’s. I personally feel like this VR was the devs just saying “have fun with an absolutely broken character” (once you figure out his play style.) The Zack VR should have been last if the intention was to go by difficulty. I just saw someone solo’d Zack’s (w/ Zack).. that’s pretty wild to me and not a challenge I am up for. lol
I kinda want to try the solo for both Zack and sephiroth myself it seems like fun. But yeah Sephiroth is as strong as he should be, insanely strong love it 😄. Yeah that's also true you don't need anything on cloud just fly around with seph lol.
@@Solestro I would try w/ Zack if his charge mechanic was different. Sometimes I have no problems while other times it seems inconsistent. I know it’s my own timing but it’s enough to make or break a solo run as his High Braver is just broken and the main requirement for solo. (But then you need a consistent means of charging) Seph on the other hand is straight forward and can be a lot of fun. 👍
THIS DID IT! Made a build soley focused on buffing Sephiroth and reviving him. Basically made Cloud a tanky support. Once i got Reraise set up and manawall, every fight was manageable. Reraised from Gigaflare, then once Odin froze Sephiroth I focus thrusted with Cloud and that was it. All that's left now is to speed through hard mode and wait for SE to finally fix the Can't Stop Won't Stop bug
@LeonSymnz at this point I'm towards the end of Chapter 12 hard mode. Might as well finish it off for platinum. Not looking forward to the final boss rush on hard mode 😅
I wonder if Octoslaash Prime is stronger than Cloud's level 3 limit break. If not, you could use this strat but then limit siphon with Cloud holding the Enhanced Expiditionary medal and he could just keep using his level 3 LB.
I was able to use your way combined with Optinoob's magic one, just switched to Seph cheese at odin. These tens of hours wasted have been the worst gameplay experiences I've ever had, but I was so close to the plat after I finally beat the ungodly annoying Catuar Trails that I had to at least try and beat these. Thanks for ending my suffering.

I did on my very first attempt! Thanks to this guide! Then my screen went all black with sound while trying to leave the VR menu, nothing was working, had to close the game and do it again. Took me almost 3 hours of tries this time... but I did it again. Thanks for the tips Solestro!

Thanks for the guide! For me, this is way better then the magic Cloud build. I put gotterdammerung on cloud, made sure to get 3 bars for cloud early ( haste+bravery+whatever) Then I would just do the pierce spam on sephiroth to get his limit, use his ATB attacks here and there, they are ranged so it is easy. Go limit sephiroth, which is a stun, then synergy skill with cloud, which is also a stun and will get you limit lvl2, then the limit level2 for cloud, which is also a very long stunlock. You can time the synergy and limit with cloud, to cancel or delay enemy skills. Comes in useful to have the synergy and limit ready for Odin. For the rest of the build I did synergy with petrify, comet, or fire so cloud cast magic every time seph use atb. Just a little extra, and helps on Odin. I think. Then enemy skill, HP, vitality, first strike, atb boost, fire+ice elemental on armor, steadfast block, reraise, and some random stuff, I think seph has magnify barrier and heal, so no need to get it on cloud.
I had an incredible hard time in this VR mission, for some reason Zack's was much easier for me, just focused on using Cloud with Sephiroth as a buffer, since I thought learning him would take longer, this is so broken lol.
I got this one today thanks to your previous video. I was previously trying this "sephiroth limit break abuse" method but to no avail. I was losing to DPS-check fights like kujata and bosses that have large health pools like Bahamut. Definitely try to activate reraise and manawall every time you have a chance if you're planning to go with this method.
@Solestro So, after a decent amount of time looking on the net and reading forums on various sites I've discovered that *Gjallarhorn's Warning* is triggered by actually *TWO* things. *#1.* If he gets too many hits on you and you don't do a large damage attack on him soon after. *AND / OR* *#2.* There is an invisible timer of sorts that counts down, and if you don't do a large enough amount of damage to him he will produce Gjallarhorn's Warning. To reset the timer all you have to do is a decent chunk of damage to him quickly. It's like a "lack of enough damage" timer. The reason why you got the warning in this was because of reason *#2.* Sephiroth was stopped, you were buffing Cloud and kind of waiting around for a bit... and that lack of enough damage timer ran down. Also, one thing I've seen for myself, which has everything to do with *#1,* is he can do Zantetsuken without even giving a Gjallarhorn's Warning if he does a TON of attacks on you at once. When I was practicing Odin with only Cloud in the simulator he did Zant on me a couple different times, with NO warning. But I realized later that both of those times he had done a onslaught of attacks on me in a row and the game just was like... "I'm not even giving you a warning at this point" lol
what does your circle-triangle attack for sephi build so much limit? did they nurf it in an update? in my game he barely gains limit and i know i am attacking the enemy because i see the damage numbers... it is driving me nuts.
I am absolute garbage with Sephiroth for some reason. I have done every other VR mission except Zack’s which I’ve gotten to Odin, but I’ve been doing this for 20 mins and can’t even get past Titan lmao I cannot seem to get his dodge spin move down at all
I was abit sceptical about this at first but nah this is actually one of the best and most fun strats i have ever tried. Not only that but you get the best out of the whole thing in the process, you get to use all Sephiroth's moves & watch him be the powerhouse he's supposed to be. Thanks for this, I was using Cloud mostly but kept getting fucked by Odin This made it a cakewalk, he just shreds everything I wish he was available to play as in your normal party after getting the plat or something (God knows it was earned at that point)
Yeah I was hoping you could at least use sephiroth and Zack in the other VR missions afterwards it was well deserved lol. When the pc version comes out il defo be playing it cause there will be a mod to play as them lol. Also happy you got it done, it's super easy when you know how ☺️
Is there a way to do something similar in the Zach fight? The Aeroga strat is jsut getting me smacked at all the wrong times. I apparently have no idea what/when to block when I'm in a caster headspace.
You don't even need to block when you cast aeroga just pick your times to attack. In rebirth you basically have crazy armour while casting so you will take damage but you are gonna get the cast off and heal the damage anyways.
Just got Odin finally! I kept getting him to 5% right before temporal, so I charged up zack and did his Braver. Done with that one, on to Sephi!@@Solestro
I was inspired by your strategy and gave cloud magnify haste/bravery/barrier, enhanced expeditionary medal, limit siphon, and used sephiroth as a limit break factory so he could keep building limit while clouds limit break juggled the boss. Was a little rocky early on but absolutely annihilated odin before he even used distortion or stop.
Was able to manage Zack in 3 try but actually i'm struggling a lot with Sephiroth... I don't have the same dps as you even with buffs and sadly Alexander destroyed me twice :(
@@Solestro First Strike, ATB Boost, Time, Bravery and Cure, Elemental Fire/Ice, something magical, maybe I should go more Physical but this build allow me to Nuke Phoenix very well But I don't know... I'm taking ages to Titan, round 2 is fairly ok, the stone dragon and sea dragon are ok, Kujata is a bit long but arrived at Alexander, he slapted Sephi hard xD Maybe it was just bad luck but that give me anxiety for Bahamut and Odin
@@MookieNalyahthe way I do these challenges for people is I do , Zack challenge cloud has magic build. Sephiroth challenge I make clouds physical attacks stronger and support magic for sephiroth. Always works for me. I don't like using magic with sephiroth because I prefer to use him more than cloud. I use cloud to buff Sephiroth and when sephi is using his limit I go crazy with cloud.
Managed to get it by playing as the same way as Bond of Friendship with Aero build, with spining Sephi for critical situation (hello Odin) It's a new Plat trophy :D Thanks to your helpful tips !
Thanks for your video, I'm trying with your way of doing this VR, but I always stay with Bahamut, I think I've been trying for a couple of days... let's see if I can get it soon, I've already spent more than 450 hours in total with the game 😅😁, it's crazy how hard it is to be able to finish it 100% 😍
I found out during the Odin fight that the Synergy Ability and Odin's Temporal Prison will cancel each other out, so if in a pinch you haven't built up the Limit Gauge yet but do have synergy up you can use that to cancel out Temporal Prison. So you lose out on the damage and infinite MP but on the upside you don't become a sitting duck for Odin.
I combined this with your cloud build for bonds of friendship to get aeroga going regularly alongside sephiroth’s slash-dodge-limit. Elemental fire & ice on cloud’s armour helps with phoenix, Kujata and king Zu. Worked like a charm first on my first attempt after the cloud-Zak nightmare and got the platinum trophy 😊
Not counting me jumping in and quitting to see what materia sephiroth had, I one shotted "to be a hero". "Bonds of friendship" however took me 5 days to beat
The approach is tons of fun and helped me get through the challenge. As an addition, I had magnify for time materia and fortification materia, so that Cloud could also directly benefit from the spell. I further gave Cloud the Enhanced Medal so that he had his Limit Break 3 and Limit Siphon. He did even more damage than Sephi with his Limit Breaks :)
Thank you for this video! Again, like last one, I am no where near here. I am actually stuck at the "can't stop, won't stop" side quest due to the G-bike bug, and don't want to progress, cos those fights and mini-game challenges are ridiculous, and I'd rather not attempt them again lol. But from the looks of it, the Brutal challenge is way harder than this, especially since you are fighting two summons at a time, and Odin is paired with Alexander at that, who throws you around like a doll if you get hit by any of its attacks. As with his Gjallarhorn's Warning, it seems extremely random. I've practiced fighting him on might-3 as well as full might, and some with 8+ hits and some with only 2 hits plus perfect parries with Cloud, and he would still sound the warning after 1 minute or so in to the fight. I would guess that since he some times targets other team members too, those hits also count towards "making him bored and lowering his mood", which makes him sound the horn. Which if that's the case, I dunno, I feel like it's a bit unfair, since that makes his fight a little RNG in that case (Like you might be able to perfect parry, but if he only hits the other team members, he can still trigger zantetsuken). Gil and Seph is what scares me the most in the brutal fights though, the others seems mostly fine, but those two...holy cow :/
Aww it's nice that you still watch them though and show support even though you aren't near these yet. Yeah I really don't like how Odin works it's very annoying how fast he can trigger galahorn sometimes. A trick I've found is debuffs actually cause him to be pressured pretty quick and also instead of parrying using counter attacks from counter stance or just blocking while in prime mode or the other one will counter attack so you are always 1-1 for attacks. Then you just hit him when you can. But yeah poison, debrave, defaith apparently make him super stagger but I'm gonna test some other methods out 😁
Dunno if this got patched, but Odin locks me in the spatial distortion area every single time. I've fought him 10 times today. It's happened every single time. Once inside, you can't get out. It constantly does damage and it cuts your ATB charge rate in half. He seems to do it twice and after the second one the entire area is covered in it.
He never covers the entire area trust me I've fought him a million times by now for other people. He only ever cuts it in half , the right side (from where you start the fight) is the safe side. When you see him jump for the first time run over to the right and just stay there and fight him. Makes it easier.
Did they nerf sephiroths limit gain? I'm trying this and the gauge is not filling remotely as fast as it is here. Also the MP only restores 30% rather than 50
Nope I've done this challenge loads of times since the patch for other people and it's still the same for me. Also apparently we've always got 30% back not 50 they just changed the text to match it.
I just beat both the 2 man challenges tonight and I'm absolutely buzzing with adrenaline. It was still stressful but I wouldn't have managed it without these guides, so thank you very much for your efforts!
Thanks again for the guide! I'm still stuck on Bonds of Friendship, but seeing Sephi in action reminds me of playing Virgil in DMC5 after he got added to the game. Kinda turned otherwise difficult battles into easy mode lol. Not saying this is easy but both Sephi and Virgil are just so much stronger than others :)
Target the enemy look at them and dodge into their direction basically puts you in the air. Kinda the same as cloud then you just start spinning around lol.
Platinum FINALLY completed! This was my last fight. Honestly took me longer than Zack mission. Thank you for all the help on my platinum run. Only took just under 4 months. 😂

@@Solestro Hardest I’ve had to do since original RDR. Used magic build with slight tweaks. I also managed to not have to learn parry/block mechanic to get victory. Always amazed at your mastery of that mechanic! Managed to get through both games w/o that skill. Have a feeling won’t be so lucky in next game. Lol. I did it! This was easier than Zack. I did have some problem with Bahamut, but Odin was easy. It took a lil time to get used to the slash, but it was worth it. For someone who don’t play fighting games but love Final Fantasy, your strat definitely helped me! Thanks! I guess hard mode left 😂
Man, like someone else said, between you and optinoob. It helped save tons of time with builds and stuff. Like others I was halted by the "Can't stop, won't stop" quest, so I put off the platinum. I still have to finish the game on hard (2 chapters left) but, the amount of time these builds saved is a god send. I ultimately have put off getting the plat until I get full completion as a way of pushing game time out and giving myself reason to do it. So thank you for everything man. I subbed after the brumal form video you made for rulers, and plan to constantly come back for awesome FF related content. Hopefully you figure out some cracked builds for part 3, I can't wait to see the madness that ensues.

@@Solestro tbh, I’ve been learning a lot of the mechanics while playing too. Surprisingly unlike what seems to be the general take on bonds of friendship, from first attempt to completion it only took 4 hours to complete and 2 to do to be a hero. So thankfully the explanations you gave and that optinoob gave were extremely helpful in learning them. Funny enough on my to be a hero run, I spammed this same sephiroth style, mixed with the magic build opti suggested. Sephiroth was the finisher on Odin in that run too. But no problem at all my dude. Keep up the great work and content, definitely a fan!
Awesome vid! Does haste increase limit break charge rate? And have you messed around with Sephiroth's abilities at all? Not sure if they are worth using or not, haven't seen any vids using them.
Well it kinda does but not directly, it will increase how much ATB he has and when he does his abilities he will build limit faster. His abilities are really good. Zanshin and hells gate also build limit and do major damage. His abilities revolving around the bar also build crazy meter especially the counter.
@@Solestro Thanks for the explanation! You wouldn't happen to know if the latest patch made Odin any easier? I haven't applied it yet because I heard it broke more than it fixed lol. But Odin seems less aggressive in your vid than when I face him. Plus he always hides in the distortion field, but for you he was outside of it. Still seems buggy as you noted with him casting spatial distortion nearly back to back and sounding the warning despite you only taking a few hits.
@@murphbri no he's not less aggressive it's just the amount of damage you do to him. If you deal a lot of damage to him like I did there and bring him to half or less he will do the field split and usually do it two times then try and freeze you because you are killing him too fast. If you fight him normally he will be all over you lol.
@@murphbri but yeah the horn is weird. It only sounds as a warning really, If he does the horn then continues to hit you or potentially kill a character you are getting zantetsukened lol. If you pressure him you have more time and take it away from him
@@Solestro Darn I was hoping the latest patch chilled him out a bit. It really is a tough balancing act for me between being aggressive and not getting hit, plus he hits so hard on that tyrannical move he usually kills or reduces one of my chars to a sliver or health. I tried fighting him at full might on dynamic in the summon match and the assess info says he has over 30 moves! I still can't figure out how to dodge that horse jump/pounce he does lol.
I have paused on playing the game because Square Enix messed up the party animal sidequest. I am waiting for them to add an update to fix. They honestly should have just left the game the way it was smh. Now I can't get platinum until it's fixed.

@Solestro yeah, I am thinking Square Enix does not have a testing team at all. Those minigames were way too difficult and some of the battles are crazy including the one at the colosseum where you have to fight 5 rounds of battles as a toad. I turned it to easy on that one, but man, I know Square Enix wants us to play the game until the third game, but that's not the correct way to go about it lol.

Once I complete a game I move on but I love ff7 so much and redoing the challenges etc has been so much fun. I do agree a few things are overtuned but the game overall has been a blast. Yo I literally can't even with this man saying this is "fun" in any way LMFAO. I appreciate your guides bro and your bonds of friendship really got me through, I used Optinoobs up to that challenge. There's so many precise inputs, timing, setup etc. involved to make this doable. 2 nights of tries to get through Zacks and had to call it on attempts at this one tonight. It gets mechanical to power through each fight as you get acclimated to them but to drop the ball at all in any of the final fights BOOM back to square one. Crazy bro lol. I cannot finesse Sephiroth the way you do, not even close.
I was struggling too. What did it for me was practicing Odin Power II in his standard fight with Cloud + Tifa, she’s the buff machine and Cloud has the regular build. Once you’ve got that on lock you’ll be able to beat it just Cloud. Then upgrade to III and do the same. After that you’ll be able to beat these near enough every time.
My whole body is trembling right now! Unbelievable, I've finally finally done it and finished the combat simulator! I spent 4 days on it and it was the hardest trophy in my life. I even found Sekiro and Armored Core 6 easier. And those were my top picks! I don't know why but I had fewer problems with "Bond of Friendship"! In the end I managed it on my own and that's thanks to you and your guides. You really have to train yourself for a while to learn the tactics and get reflexes for Sephiroth. But you really helped me a lot! I really have to thank you for that! I I was just about to give up with a heavy heart. Then I thought, let's give it one last try. And this one was also very bumpy up to Odin. For example, I only got further with Kujata with the rearise spell. I don't find him that easy, because he roars and changes his elements so quickly. And you don't always have 2 full ATB bars at the right time. If you change 4 times, he does his Instant Kill. And the Jabberwock, I didn't find him that easy either, because he can petrify one or both with his normal attacks. Alexander went pretty well thanks to Sephiroth, but sometimes it's pretty stupid how it works. I personally don't find Bahamut that difficult. I rarely died there, because the process is always the same. So like with Bond of Friendship! It just drags on. And with Allfather Odin, you really need a lot of luck. And everything has to go well! I usually got to his spatial Distortion, then he cast the Temporal Imprisonment. And shortly after that, usually Zantetsuken. The funny thing was with Odin: I did the whole thing at work during the night shift via my portal. And with Odin, just before his shock. As I was whirling around with Sephiroth, the picture suddenly started to chop. I quickly pressed option. Then the connection was lost. When I was connected to my PS5 again, it said " Breaks Menu". Because I crashed like that with Bahamut and then died. But now it's done and my head and soul are free of this torture again. Something like that can really weigh on me mentally 😅 even if it's just a game. Final Fantasy VII, especially the original, is very, very important to me, and that's how I discovered my love of Japanese RPGs as a kid. Now I can devote myself to the rest of the chapters on difficult in peace. Thank you again, and to everyone else: good luck! Don't lose heart. You'll do it!
Have you tested this, have cloud equip enhanced exp medal for LB level 3, have him limit siphon and use finishing touch instead of octaslash? Which is better?
Using this strategy, I died a couple times to Titan, once to Kujata and then made a straight run and beat Odin first go. I did learn that you need to let Seph’s triangle attack play its full animation to get the bigger limit charge. was rushing the entry and once i figured that out…just broken.
Used your strat for round 10 and finally did it. It took 2 days. Advice to make sure you use your synergy and use reraise for free on 1st Sephiroth. 2nd Cloud.
After several failed attempts throughout the day, this strat DECIMATED the competition, though I did use a build that Optinoob put together but put Time and Empowerment Materia's is buff up Sephiroth. I got extremely lucky on Bahamut though, I was going so hard on him that I didn't even let him go into his other forms. And the same thing happened to me that happened on this video, that Odin double casted Spatial Distortion, he got Sephiroth in a Time Imprisonment but by then it was too late for him. I dodged out of the Helheim attack, focus thrust to stagger him and Aeroga for the win. Now that all of the challenges are done, time for Hard Mode Run

This is the only legendary challenge they should've put in this game. I beat it first try and it was fun. In the other hand, bonds of friendship reduced me into pure despair, I suffered literally 50 losses before the win. I'm telling you after the Platinum I don't wanna see this game ever again.

Got this one done! Now all that's left is Bonds of Friendship, then the hard playthrough, and then the plat is done and I can finally move on to Dragons Dogma 2!
For some reason, Sephiroth's Shift Slash attack (circle + triangle) isn't dealing damage to the enemy or building the limit gauge quickly like yours. Interestingly, I executed this attack swiftly in my first attempt but now I’m struggling with it in later attempts. I don’t even know what I’m doing wrong lol. Can someone please help me?
@solestro Hey man. I’ve poured way too many hours trying to finish the brutal challenges. I’m stuck on 7th seal and havnt even started the legendary. Optinoob recommended you for a share play. I really wanted to platinum this game and my OCD is driving me nuts that I can’t complete it.

I’ve been through hell with brutal up to Zack Vr mission(failed countless times), and beat it on first try with this mission is felt so good 😂Sephiroth so OP.
@@SolestroReally, it was just the strategy of continuing to wail on him, dodge away to avoid all attacks, and use the Limit Break immediately. Cloud was set up with the Magic build, so he was able to do his set up during the limit breaks and deal his magic damage during the stagger phase.

Holy god damn crap. I was just on the best run of this challenge I've had so far. Finally got to Odin with this strategy (had got to him a couple of times with the caster strat and failed horribly both times, and had failed at Bahamut with this one before a couple of times) and was actually doing really well. Got him staggered after two limits, was on my way to a third limit while he was still staggered, his health was around a third left... And then the damn game crashes. I am beyond livid right now. I just know I won't be able to replicate that again tonight because of how jacked up I am now, so that's me done for the day as well, eugh. Seriously, of all the times for the game to crash, it HAD to happen right then, didn't it?
I’m trying a mix of Optinoob’s Magic Cloud and a mix of using Sephiroth as well. I think I can Octaslash and Wind on Bahamut and Odin if I’m fast enough.. idk..
Yeah you can do. It's just personal preference. I prefer doing the physical build on cloud, a bit slower but you just essentially buff Sephiroth and spin. Then when enemies are staggered you blow them up with damage.

Need some advice on a secondary build For someone without much skill/sorta bad with bahamut and Odin is there a build where i can put re-raise to magic efficiency and still have strong enough spells to one shot bahamut wings? Did you use any purple Materia on Cloud? And yeah I agree about not automatically using debuffs, every FF just makes them immune to everything, so it's always a surprise to me when I see someone showing how easy a boss is when you use X and Y debuff
Yeah it's the most annoying thing about playing the old FF games puts you in the mindset of not wanting to use debuffs lol. The build is in the video dude. But the way I do it now is , limit support, first strike , strength up. Those are the purples.
I FINALLY BEAT Virtual Sephiroth! I used Cloud, Barrett, & Tifa. All I needed to do was have Barrett cast Barrier-All twice & I was able survive Virtual Sephiroth’s Octaslash each time. It was awesome. My final attack was EPIC!!! I used Cloud’s Limit Break Ascension at the end when Sephiroth had 🤏 life left & it occurred right after Sephiroth’s Limit Break cutscene for Octaslash. The game let Cloud’s limit break go first & I won! 😂 I never parried Sephiroth’s Shadowy Chains once. 1. Barrett cast Barrier-All 2x. 2. Tifa’s armor: Cetran Armlet 3. Tifa: Tranference Module 4. Cloud: Limit Booster 5. Cloud cast Regan-all at the beginning of each battle. 6. Tifa cast Haste-all at the beginning of each battle. It only took me 30hrs 😂 I couldn’t beat Sephiroth’s Shadow Chains & I kept having stupid deaths to Alexander, Odin, & Gilgamesh.
Thank you for the Awesome guides. Helped me beat Bonds and Rulers. It's all downhill from here it seems as I already beat hard versions of the confounded minigames. I likely will only play part 3 on PC, because then I can just artificially put in checkpoints. Even after beating Rulers and Bonds, I'm still pissed at the extreme time sink it requires and frustration and anxiety as real time, they are 20 to 40 minutes, mostly repeating bosses I already know I can beat. My thinking is that Square Enix thought the more time spent in abject frustration the more we'd value the experience. I just wanted my trophy telling me I'm good at a thing I enjoy, but the process made me no longer enjoy it, and now I resent it. I wish my Autism would let me just play things like a casual and skip the absurdly annoying repetitive no-checkpoint gauntlets. FFXV at least had checkpoints in its post game dungeons. To be honest, I like that game more. It was possible to become OP'd and that was cathartic.
All I have left is this one and outer worlds and yet I been trying outer worlds just yesterday and after hearing ur comment that this other one is not that hard I’m gonna do this next and then do outer worlds Alast then 🎉🎉🎉😂
I wish I could pull this off. I only get one try every day or so because the button spam kills my RSI, and im not fast enough to hit his limit break by the time things are staggered. When I break titans shield Im at like half the LB bar? 2/3rds if im lucky. I feel like Im missing something. Because when i do get a good rotation going I get clipped by something.
Unrelated note. But parrying Odin is actually not a good idea. Even when you parry you're building up his zantetsuken meter and he will use reprisal wayyy more often. You gotta dodge every single time.
I feel like that's incorrect unless he still builds Zantetsuken when he does sleipnir furor. Cause when I got good with the parries I just kept parrying him and it pressured him. They really need to explain his mechanic a bit more the assess description doesn't even explain half the shit he does lol.
@@bfj9783 ahhh ok. The way I've started to just spank Odin is use prime mode and just counter everything cause then you are 1-1 for attacks. Plus gives you craploads of ATB and you can hit him harder again.
How do I go airborne with sephi? Been practicing this for an hour and cant seem to nail down what move sends him in the air. Nvm: figured it out. Bahamut is where Im struggling. Sephi constantly gets knocked around before he can do his swirl stuff. Edit again: literally beat it the next attempt after this comment 😂😂. Gonna be a no for me. Sephiroth does require some inherent ability or you have to master the character and I just don't feel like it. Getting slapped out of Charge during Titan fight. Its just not good for it consider Titan's range is large and he has Shield and will literally 360 to slap you.

I don't get it... I still can't even get past Titan on this one... I've already gotten through all the Brutal challenges and everything and for some reason Titan just keeps destroying me even using both this method and Optinoob's. Everyone keeps saying how much easier this challenge is but it's the only one I still can't even get past the first round. He just keeps reapplying Earthen Aegis as soon as I destroy and then just continuously juggles me till I'm dead or have to keep healing until all my MP is gone. No idea what I'm doing wrong. The only other challenge I haven't completed yet is Bonds of Friendship.
I made this even easier for myself and equipped Cloud with all the ga spells, elemental fire etc. When alexander got staggered, i blasted him with 2 thundagas and a few sephi slashes and he died within one stagger. Cloud also had Genji gloves and massive magic boosts. It's like combining the magic build with the op:ness of sephiroth haha
Haha yeah you can do that as well. I've done this a few times trying out different build combinations. Next time I do it I'm just gonna try and parry everything see how fast I can kill things. Cause you build limit in like 1 or 2 parries lol
you dont use sephs ATBs too much in this method, is haste necessary on him? although I guess stop is super helpful here edit: i guess it really helps on bahamut.. for them wings :)

Tbh it does give him a bit of a boost I tried it and it makes It quicker. You can also put the enhanced expeditionary medal on cloud and siphon Sephiroths limit for clouds finishing touch lol.
@@Solestro What is stronger? Finishing Touch or Octaslash combined with Octaslash Prime? And if it is finishing touch, is it significant stronger? Because I figure you’d be buffing Seph, it may be a pain to buff Cloud and Seph in order to do FT for max damage.

@@Solestro ah I see thanks for the quick reply. So while I'm in zanshin I press triangle after 2 hits or normal attack. Press triangle after 2 hits and use zanshin?
No no, so when you build up that bar in the bottom left after a few hits of normal attacks it allows you to power up zanshin. So when that is full you use the Zanshin ability and when it hits twice you press triangle for the 3rd attack. That always breaks the wings. @@farhanhussain6584
I did it with a combination of this and the Cloud/magic build on some of the fights. This helped a lot with Odin! Thank you for ALL the guides, just finished my last VR Sim, so all that is left is hard mode, which compared to these, I expect to be fairly easy LOL
I have the same setup as you but my stats are not as high, did you do this setup after beating it for the first time? If so will this still work with lower stats. All my Materia is MAXED out and I only have the last 2 VR missions left to do, all HARD MODE is complete.

Took a bit to get used to Sephi's controls, but got this on my third try! My cloud setup:
Rune Blade - HealingMagnify, MP Up, Revival, Precision Defense, Steadfast Block
Cetran Bracer - ElementalFire and Ice, ElementalLightning and Wind, Time, Empowerment, ATB Boost, First Strike
Chockoking's Cape
Started each round with Cloud hasting Sephi, ATB Boost, then Bravery. That way I always had one ATB in the tank for emergency heals.
Also set up reraise on Bahamut and Odin and ended up not needing them at all. Super fun! Only have the Zack fight left now.
you know double elemental on armor, only the left most is activated right? Elemental + lightning & Wind here is pretty much wasted 2 materia slots.

I saw this recently and wanted an excuse to play the game again, I went for a limit build with limit siphon and expeditionary medal on Cloud. Depending on the fight I had Seph back up to a full limit by the time Cloud was finishing his and this challenge became easy lol. Used the synergy attacks whenever I needed manawall back and repeated limits. I think magic builds with Genji ring is faster although this was a lot of fun. 10/10 would recommend imo. Thanks for putting this up, really appreciated it.

here was the key to my strat succeeding: USE SYNERGY! since it makes sephiroth’s MP cost 0, use reraise on both cloud and sephiroth. then play risky. it’s a good, no-risk, cushion of protection. damage-wise, this strat is undoubtedly INSAAAANE! Good work Solestro.

what do you mean by using synergy???
@@nevermore8745 when you get the 3 little pips on your bar for both characters by using 3 atb bars on both. You can use the synergy attack where Sephiroth gets infinite MP for a short time and cloud gets 1 level on his limit.

Made sure to do that once got to Bahamut and Odin. Even brought the Phoenix out with Odin just for the additional pressure. I was not about to lose that fight 😅
Seph is so OP you can literally put nothing on Cloud and still win.. heck, you can leave Cloud out entirely and wash the npc’s. I personally feel like this VR was the devs just saying “have fun with an absolutely broken character” (once you figure out his play style.) The Zack VR should have been last if the intention was to go by difficulty. I just saw someone solo’d Zack’s (w/ Zack).. that’s pretty wild to me and not a challenge I am up for. lol
I kinda want to try the solo for both Zack and sephiroth myself it seems like fun. But yeah Sephiroth is as strong as he should be, insanely strong love it 😄. Yeah that's also true you don't need anything on cloud just fly around with seph lol.
@@Solestro I would try w/ Zack if his charge mechanic was different. Sometimes I have no problems while other times it seems inconsistent. I know it’s my own timing but it’s enough to make or break a solo run as his High Braver is just broken and the main requirement for solo. (But then you need a consistent means of charging) Seph on the other hand is straight forward and can be a lot of fun. 👍
THIS DID IT! Made a build soley focused on buffing Sephiroth and reviving him. Basically made Cloud a tanky support. Once i got Reraise set up and manawall, every fight was manageable. Reraised from Gigaflare, then once Odin froze Sephiroth I focus thrusted with Cloud and that was it.
All that's left now is to speed through hard mode and wait for SE to finally fix the Can't Stop Won't Stop bug

I wonder if Octoslaash Prime is stronger than Cloud's level 3 limit break. If not, you could use this strat but then limit siphon with Cloud holding the Enhanced Expiditionary medal and he could just keep using his level 3 LB.

I was able to use your way combined with Optinoob's magic one, just switched to Seph cheese at odin.
These tens of hours wasted have been the worst gameplay experiences I've ever had, but I was so close to the plat after I finally beat the ungodly annoying Catuar Trails that I had to at least try and beat these.

Thanks for the guide! For me, this is way better then the magic Cloud build.
I put gotterdammerung on cloud, made sure to get 3 bars for cloud early ( haste+bravery+whatever)
Then I would just do the pierce spam on sephiroth to get his limit, use his ATB attacks here and there, they are ranged so it is easy. Go limit sephiroth, which is a stun, then synergy skill with cloud, which is also a stun and will get you limit lvl2, then the limit level2 for cloud, which is also a very long stunlock.
You can time the synergy and limit with cloud, to cancel or delay enemy skills. Comes in useful to have the synergy and limit ready for Odin.
For the rest of the build I did synergy with petrify, comet, or fire so cloud cast magic every time seph use atb. Just a little extra, and helps on Odin. I think.
Then enemy skill, HP, vitality, first strike, atb boost, fire+ice elemental on armor, steadfast block, reraise, and some random stuff,
I think seph has magnify barrier and heal, so no need to get it on cloud.
Fun fact sephiroth can‘t get grabbed by the enemy

I had an incredible hard time in this VR mission, for some reason Zack's was much easier for me, just focused on using Cloud with Sephiroth as a buffer, since I thought learning him would take longer, this is so broken lol.

I got this one today thanks to your previous video. I was previously trying this "sephiroth limit break abuse" method but to no avail. I was losing to DPS-check fights like kujata and bosses that have large health pools like Bahamut. Definitely try to activate reraise and manawall every time you have a chance if you're planning to go with this method.
Yeah reraise is amazing in these fights if you are worried about getting nuked by the bosses 😁

@Solestro So, after a decent amount of time looking on the net and reading forums on various sites I've discovered that *Gjallarhorn's Warning* is triggered by actually *TWO* things.
*#1.* If he gets too many hits on you and you don't do a large damage attack on him soon after.
*AND / OR*
*#2.* There is an invisible timer of sorts that counts down, and if you don't do a large enough amount of damage to him he will produce Gjallarhorn's Warning. To reset the timer all you have to do is a decent chunk of damage to him quickly. It's like a "lack of enough damage" timer.
The reason why you got the warning in this was because of reason *#2.* Sephiroth was stopped, you were buffing Cloud and kind of waiting around for a bit... and that lack of enough damage timer ran down.
Also, one thing I've seen for myself, which has everything to do with *#1,* is he can do Zantetsuken without even giving a Gjallarhorn's Warning if he does a TON of attacks on you at once. When I was practicing Odin with only Cloud in the simulator he did Zant on me a couple different times, with NO warning. But I realized later that both of those times he had done a onslaught of attacks on me in a row and the game just was like... "I'm not even giving you a warning at this point" lol
what does your circle-triangle attack for sephi build so much limit? did they nurf it in an update? in my game he barely gains limit and i know i am attacking the enemy because i see the damage numbers... it is driving me nuts.
Nope they haven't nerfed it. I did this challenge last night on my stream for a couple people. it's exactly the same. Dunno what to tell you lol
I am absolute garbage with Sephiroth for some reason. I have done every other VR mission except Zack’s which I’ve gotten to Odin, but I’ve been doing this for 20 mins and can’t even get past Titan lmao I cannot seem to get his dodge spin move down at all
You will get it eventually, I can do this about as fast as the Zack one now. Just takes practice to get it done 😊
I was abit sceptical about this at first but nah this is actually one of the best and most fun strats i have ever tried. Not only that but you get the best out of the whole thing in the process, you get to use all Sephiroth's moves & watch him be the powerhouse he's supposed to be. Big thanks to you man and everyhing you do on this channel!

Is there a way to do something similar in the Zach fight? The Aeroga strat is jsut getting me smacked at all the wrong times. I apparently have no idea what/when to block when I'm in a caster headspace.
You don't even need to block when you cast aeroga just pick your times to attack. In rebirth you basically have crazy armour while casting so you will take damage but you are gonna get the cast off and heal the damage anyways.
Just got Odin finally! I kept getting him to 5% right before temporal, so I charged up zack and did his Braver. Done with that one, on to Sephi!@@Solestro

I was inspired by your strategy and gave cloud magnify haste/bravery/barrier, enhanced expeditionary medal, limit siphon, and used sephiroth as a limit break factory so he could keep building limit while clouds limit break juggled the boss. Was a little rocky early on but absolutely annihilated odin before he even used distortion or stop.

@@Solestro First Strike, ATB Boost, Time, Bravery and Cure, Elemental Fire/Ice, something magical, maybe I should go more Physical but this build allow me to Nuke Phoenix very well
But I don't know... I'm taking ages to Titan, round 2 is fairly ok, the stone dragon and sea dragon are ok, Kujata is a bit long but arrived at Alexander, he slapted Sephi hard xD

@@MookieNalyahthe way I do these challenges for people is I do , Zack challenge cloud has magic build. Sephiroth challenge I make clouds physical attacks stronger and support magic for sephiroth. Always works for me. I don't like using magic with sephiroth because I prefer to use him more than cloud. I use cloud to buff Sephiroth and when sephi is using his limit I go crazy with cloud.
Managed to get it by playing as the same way as Bond of Friendship with Aero build, with spining Sephi for critical situation (hello Odin)

Thanks for your video, I'm trying with your way of doing this VR, but I always stay with Bahamut, I think I've been trying for a couple of days... let's see if I can get it soon, I've already spent more than 450 hours in total with the game 😅😁, it's crazy how hard it is to be able to finish it 100% 😍
I found out during the Odin fight that the Synergy Ability and Odin's Temporal Prison will cancel each other out, so if in a pinch you haven't built up the Limit Gauge yet but do have synergy up you can use that to cancel out Temporal Prison. So you lose out on the damage and infinite MP but on the upside you don't become a sitting duck for Odin.

You should parry with sephiroth the counter after parry gives you 1/4 - 1/2 limit break depending how many attacks you parried before

I combined this with your cloud build for bonds of friendship to get aeroga going regularly alongside sephiroth’s slash-dodge-limit.
Elemental fire & ice on cloud’s armour helps with phoenix, Kujata and king Zu. Worked like a charm first on my first attempt after the cloud-Zak nightmare and got the platinum trophy 😊
Not counting me jumping in and quitting to see what materia sephiroth had, I one shotted "to be a hero". "Bonds of friendship" however took me 5 days to beat

The approach is tons of fun and helped me get through the challenge. As an addition, I had magnify for time materia and fortification materia, so that Cloud could also directly benefit from the spell. I further gave Cloud the Enhanced Medal so that he had his Limit Break 3 and Limit Siphon. He did even more damage than Sephi with his Limit Breaks :)

Thank you for this video! Again, like last one, I am no where near here. I am actually stuck at the "can't stop, won't stop" side quest due to the G-bike bug, and don't want to progress, cos those fights and mini-game challenges are ridiculous, and I'd rather not attempt them again lol.
But from the looks of it, the Brutal challenge is way harder than this, especially since you are fighting two summons at a time, and Odin is paired with Alexander at that, who throws you around like a doll if you get hit by any of its attacks. As with his Gjallarhorn's Warning, it seems extremely random. I've practiced fighting him on might-3 as well as full might, and some with 8+ hits and some with only 2 hits plus perfect parries with Cloud, and he would still sound the warning after 1 minute or so in to the fight. I would guess that since he some times targets other team members too, those hits also count towards "making him bored and lowering his mood", which makes him sound the horn. Which if that's the case, I dunno, I feel like it's a bit unfair, since that makes his fight a little RNG in that case (Like you might be able to perfect parry, but if he only hits the other team members, he can still trigger zantetsuken).
Gil and Seph is what scares me the most in the brutal fights though, the others seems mostly fine, but those two...holy cow :/

Yeah I really don't like how Odin works it's very annoying how fast he can trigger galahorn sometimes. A trick I've found is debuffs actually cause him to be pressured pretty quick and also instead of parrying using counter attacks from counter stance or just blocking while in prime mode or the other one will counter attack so you are always 1-1 for attacks. Then you just hit him when you can.
But yeah poison, debrave, defaith apparently make him super stagger but I'm gonna test some other methods out 😁
Dunno if this got patched, but Odin locks me in the spatial distortion area every single time. I've fought him 10 times today. It's happened every single time. Once inside, you can't get out. It constantly does damage and it cuts your ATB charge rate in half. He seems to do it twice and after the second one the entire area is covered in it.
He never covers the entire area trust me I've fought him a million times by now for other people. He only ever cuts it in half , the right side (from where you start the fight) is the safe side. When you see him jump for the first time run over to the right and just stay there and fight him. Makes it easier.
Did they nerf sephiroths limit gain? I'm trying this and the gauge is not filling remotely as fast as it is here. Also the MP only restores 30% rather than 50
Nope I've done this challenge loads of times since the patch for other people and it's still the same for me. Also apparently we've always got 30% back not 50 they just changed the text to match it.
I just beat both the 2 man challenges tonight and I'm absolutely buzzing with adrenaline. It was still stressful but I wouldn't have managed it without these guides, so thank you very much for your efforts!
Thanks again for the guide! I'm still stuck on Bonds of Friendship, but seeing Sephi in action reminds me of playing Virgil in DMC5 after he got added to the game. Kinda turned otherwise difficult battles into easy mode lol. Not saying this is easy but both Sephi and Virgil are just so much stronger than others :)
I know I'm a moron but how do you get in the air as Sephy? I've done it by accident a few times but I can't figure out how to actually do it.
Target the enemy look at them and dodge into their direction basically puts you in the air. Kinda the same as cloud then you just start spinning around lol.

Platinum FINALLY completed! This was my last fight. Honestly took me longer than Zack mission. Thank you for all the help on my platinum run. Only took just under 4 months. 😂

@@Solestro Hardest I’ve had to do since original RDR. Used magic build with slight tweaks. I also managed to not have to learn parry/block mechanic to get victory. Always amazed at your mastery of that mechanic! Managed to get through both games w/o that skill. Have a feeling won’t be so lucky in next game. Lol. Regardless you’re impressive and I’ll support your channel as long as you choose to have one! 👍

It's easy once you know how, probably one of the easier parry mechanics I've used in a video game. Part 3 is gonna be nutty can't wait lol. I did it! This was easier than Zack. I did have some problem with Bahamut, but Odin was easy. It took a lil time to get used to the slash, but it was worth it. For someone who don’t play fighting games but love Final Fantasy, your strat definitely helped me! Thanks! I guess hard mode left 😂
Man, like someone else said, between you and optinoob. It helped save tons of time with builds and stuff. Like others I was halted by the "Can't stop, won't stop" quest, so I put off the platinum. I still have to finish the game on hard (2 chapters left) but, the amount of time these builds saved is a god send. I ultimately have put off getting the plat until I get full completion as a way of pushing game time out and giving myself reason to do it. So thank you for everything man. I subbed after the brumal form video you made for rulers, and plan to constantly come back for awesome FF related content. Hopefully you figure out some cracked builds for part 3, I can't wait to see the madness that ensues.

@@Solestro tbh, I’ve been learning a lot of the mechanics while playing too. Surprisingly unlike what seems to be the general take on bonds of friendship, from first attempt to completion it only took 4 hours to complete and 2 to do to be a hero. So thankfully the explanations you gave and that optinoob gave were extremely helpful in learning them. Funny enough on my to be a hero run, I spammed this same sephiroth style, mixed with the magic build opti suggested. Sephiroth was the finisher on Odin in that run too.
But no problem at all my dude. Keep up the great work and content, definitely a fan!
Awesome vid! Does haste increase limit break charge rate? And have you messed around with Sephiroth's abilities at all? Not sure if they are worth using or not, haven't seen any vids using them.
Well it kinda does but not directly, it will increase how much ATB he has and when he does his abilities he will build limit faster. His abilities are really good. Zanshin and hells gate also build limit and do major damage. His abilities revolving around the bar also build crazy meter especially the counter.

But Odin seems less aggressive in your vid than when I face him. Plus he always hides in the distortion field, but for you he was outside of it. Still seems buggy as you noted with him casting spatial distortion nearly back to back and sounding the warning despite you only taking a few hits.
@@murphbri no he's not less aggressive it's just the amount of damage you do to him. If you deal a lot of damage to him like I did there and bring him to half or less he will do the field split and usually do it two times then try and freeze you because you are killing him too fast. If you fight him normally he will be all over you lol.
@@murphbri but yeah the horn is weird. It only sounds as a warning really, If he does the horn then continues to hit you or potentially kill a character you are getting zantetsukened lol. If you pressure him you have more time and take it away from him

It really is a tough balancing act for me between being aggressive and not getting hit, plus he hits so hard on that tyrannical move he usually kills or reduces one of my chars to a sliver or health. I tried fighting him at full might on dynamic in the summon match and the assess info says he has over 30 moves! I still can't figure out how to dodge that horse jump/pounce he does lol.
I have paused on playing the game because Square Enix messed up the party animal sidequest. I am waiting for them to add an update to fix. They honestly should have just left the game the way it was smh. Now I can't get platinum until it's fixed.
Yeah I heard that, it's really shitty that they've done that because people that have done all the hard work can't get the platinum. I didn't even know that till the other day, I hope they fix it for you soon!
@Solestro yeah, I am thinking Square Enix does not have a testing team at all. Those minigames were way too difficult and some of the battles are crazy including the one at the colosseum where you have to fight 5 rounds of battles as a toad. I turned it to easy on that one, but man, I know Square Enix wants us to play the game until the third game, but that's not the correct way to go about it lol.

Once I complete a game I move on but I love ff7 so much and redoing the challenges etc has been so much fun. I do agree a few things are overtuned but the game overall has been a blast. You can actually come back and finish it off even after finishing the game. Just don't reset quest data and it will be as you left it.

Yo I literally can't even with this man saying this is "fun" in any way LMFAO. I appreciate your guides bro and your bonds of friendship really got me through, I used Optinoobs up to that challenge. There's so many precise inputs, timing, setup etc. involved to make this doable. 2 nights of tries to get through Zacks and had to call it on attempts at this one tonight. It gets mechanical to power through each fight as you get acclimated to them but to drop the ball at all in any of the final fights BOOM back to square one. Crazy bro lol. I cannot finesse Sephiroth the way you do, not even close.
I was struggling too. What did it for me was practicing Odin Power II in his standard fight with Cloud + Tifa, she’s the buff machine and Cloud has the regular build. Once you’ve got that on lock you’ll be able to beat it just Cloud. Then upgrade to III and do the same. After that you’ll be able to beat these near enough every time.
My whole body is trembling right now! Unbelievable, I've finally finally done it and finished the combat simulator!
I spent 4 days on it and it was the hardest trophy in my life. I even found Sekiro and Armored Core 6 easier. And those were my top picks! I don't know why but I had fewer problems with
"Bond of Friendship"!
In the end I managed it on my own and that's thanks to you and your guides.
You really have to train yourself for a while to learn the tactics and get reflexes for Sephiroth.
But you really helped me a lot! I really have to thank you for that! I
I was just about to give up with a heavy heart.
Then I thought, let's give it one last try.
And this one was also very bumpy up to Odin.
For example, I only got further with Kujata with the rearise spell. I don't find him that easy, because he roars and changes his elements so quickly. And you don't always have 2 full ATB bars at the right time.
If you change 4 times, he does his Instant Kill.
And the Jabberwock, I didn't find him that easy either, because he can petrify one or both with his normal attacks.
Alexander went pretty well thanks to Sephiroth, but sometimes it's pretty stupid how it works.
I personally don't find Bahamut that difficult. I rarely died there, because the process is always the same.
So like with Bond of Friendship!
It just drags on.
And with Allfather Odin, you really need a lot of luck. And everything has to go well!
I usually got to his spatial Distortion, then he cast the Temporal Imprisonment. And shortly after that, usually Zantetsuken.
The funny thing was with Odin:
I did the whole thing at work during the night shift via my portal. And with Odin, just before his shock. As I was whirling around with Sephiroth, the picture suddenly started to chop. I quickly pressed option. Then the connection was lost.
When I was connected to my PS5 again, it said " Breaks Menu".
Because I crashed like that with Bahamut and then died.
But now it's done and my head and soul are free of this torture again. Something like that can really weigh on me mentally 😅 even if it's just a game. Final Fantasy VII, especially the original, is very, very important to me, and that's how I discovered my love of Japanese RPGs as a kid.
Now I can devote myself to the rest of the chapters on difficult in peace. Thank you again,

Have you tested this, have cloud equip enhanced exp medal for LB level 3, have him limit siphon and use finishing touch instead of octaslash? Which is better?
Using this strategy, I died a couple times to Titan, once to Kujata and then made a straight run and beat Odin first go.
I did learn that you need to let Seph’s triangle attack play its full animation to get the bigger limit charge. was rushing the entry and once i figured that out…just broken.
Used your strat for round 10 and finally did it. It took 2 days.
Advice to make sure you use your synergy and use reraise for free on 1st Sephiroth. 2nd Cloud.
After several failed attempts throughout the day, this strat DECIMATED the competition, though I did use a build that Optinoob put together but put Time and Empowerment Materia's is buff up Sephiroth. I got extremely lucky on Bahamut though, I was going so hard on him that I didn't even let him go into his other forms. And the same thing happened to me that happened on this video, that Odin double casted Spatial Distortion, he got Sephiroth in a Time Imprisonment but by then it was too late for him. I dodged out of the Helheim attack, focus thrust to stagger him and Aeroga for the win. Now that all of the challenges are done, time for Hard Mode Run

This is the only legendary challenge they should've put in this game. I beat it first try and it was fun. In the other hand, bonds of friendship reduced me into pure despair, I suffered literally 50 losses before the win. I'm telling you after the Platinum I don't wanna see this game ever again.

Genji. I make sure cloud has a physical build so he can do like 20k plus with infinity end
For some reason, Sephiroth's Shift Slash attack (circle + triangle) isn't dealing damage to the enemy or building the limit gauge quickly like yours. Interestingly, I executed this attack swiftly in my first attempt but now I’m struggling with it in later attempts. I don’t even know what I’m doing wrong lol. Can someone please help me?

@@SolestroReally, it was just the strategy of continuing to wail on him, dodge away to avoid all attacks, and use the Limit Break immediately. Cloud was set up with the Magic build, so he was able to do his set up during the limit breaks and deal his magic damage during the stagger phase.

Holy god damn crap. I was just on the best run of this challenge I've had so far. Finally got to Odin with this strategy (had got to him a couple of times with the caster strat and failed horribly both times, and had failed at Bahamut with this one before a couple of times) and was actually doing really well. Got him staggered after two limits, was on my way to a third limit while he was still staggered, his health was around a third left...
And then the damn game crashes.
I am beyond livid right now.
I just know I won't be able to replicate that again tonight because of how jacked up I am now, so that's me done for the day as well, eugh. Seriously, of all the times for the game to crash, it HAD to happen right then, didn't it?
I’m trying a mix of Optinoob’s Magic Cloud and a mix of using Sephiroth as well. I think I can Octaslash and Wind on Bahamut and Odin if I’m fast enough.. idk..
Yeah you can do. It's just personal preference. I prefer doing the physical build on cloud, a bit slower but you just essentially buff Sephiroth and spin. Then when enemies are staggered you blow them up with damage.

Did you use any purple Materia on Cloud? And yeah I agree about not automatically using debuffs, every FF just makes them immune to everything, so it's always a surprise to me when I see someone showing how easy a boss is when you use X and Y debuff
Yeah it's the most annoying thing about playing the old FF games puts you in the mindset of not wanting to use debuffs lol. The build is in the video dude. But the way I do it now is , limit support, first strike , strength up. Those are the purples.

I FINALLY BEAT Virtual Sephiroth! I used Cloud, Barrett, & Tifa. All I needed to do was have Barrett cast Barrier-All twice & I was able survive Virtual Sephiroth’s Octaslash each time. It was awesome.
My final attack was EPIC!!!
I used Cloud’s Limit Break Ascension at the end when Sephiroth had 🤏 life left & it occurred right after Sephiroth’s Limit Break cutscene for Octaslash. The game let Cloud’s limit break go first & I won! 😂
I never parried Sephiroth’s Shadowy Chains once.
1. Barrett cast Barrier-All 2x.
2. Tifa’s armor: Cetran Armlet
3. Tifa: Tranference Module
4. Cloud: Limit Booster
5. Cloud cast Regan-all at the beginning of each battle.
6. Tifa cast Haste-all at the beginning of each battle.
It only took me 30hrs 😂 I couldn’t beat Sephiroth’s Shadow Chains & I kept having stupid deaths to Alexander, Odin, & Gilgamesh.

Thank you for the Awesome guides. Helped me beat Bonds and Rulers. It's all downhill from here it seems as I already beat hard versions of the confounded minigames. I likely will only play part 3 on PC, because then I can just artificially put in checkpoints. Even after beating Rulers and Bonds, I'm still pissed at the extreme time sink it requires and frustration and anxiety as real time, they are 20 to 40 minutes, mostly repeating bosses I already know I can beat. My thinking is that Square Enix thought the more time spent in abject frustration the more we'd value the experience. I just wanted my trophy telling me I'm good at a thing I enjoy, but the process made me no longer enjoy it, and now I resent it. I wish my Autism would let me just play things like a casual and skip the absurdly annoying repetitive no-checkpoint gauntlets. FFXV at least had checkpoints in its post game dungeons. To be honest, I like that game more. It was possible to become OP'd and that was cathartic.
All I have left is this one and outer worlds and yet I been trying outer worlds just yesterday and after hearing ur comment that this other one is not that hard I’m gonna do this next and then do outer worlds Alast then 🎉🎉🎉😂
I wish I could pull this off. I only get one try every day or so because the button spam kills my RSI, and im not fast enough to hit his limit break by the time things are staggered. When I break titans shield Im at like half the LB bar? 2/3rds if im lucky.

Unrelated note. But parrying Odin is actually not a good idea. Even when you parry you're building up his zantetsuken meter and he will use reprisal wayyy more often. You gotta dodge every single time.
I feel like that's incorrect unless he still builds Zantetsuken when he does sleipnir furor. Cause when I got good with the parries I just kept parrying him and it pressured him. They really need to explain his mechanic a bit more the assess description doesn't even explain half the shit he does lol.
@@Solestro That's because you don't waste that much time using atb commands. If you parry too much he'll start using reprisal.
@@bfj9783 ahhh ok. The way I've started to just spank Odin is use prime mode and just counter everything cause then you are 1-1 for attacks. Plus gives you craploads of ATB and you can hit him harder again.

Nvm: figured it out. Bahamut is where Im struggling. Sephi constantly gets knocked around before he can do his swirl stuff.

It's pushing forward towards the enemy and dodge. 9 times out of 10 you will go airborne.
Gonna be a no for me. Sephiroth does require some inherent ability or you have to master the character and I just don't feel like it. Getting slapped out of Charge during Titan fight. Its just not good for it consider Titan's range is large and he has Shield and will literally 360 to slap you.

I don't get it... I still can't even get past Titan on this one... I've already gotten through all the Brutal challenges and everything and for some reason Titan just keeps destroying me even using both this method and Optinoob's. Everyone keeps saying how much easier this challenge is but it's the only one I still can't even get past the first round. He just keeps reapplying Earthen Aegis as soon as I destroy and then just continuously juggles me till I'm dead or have to keep healing until all my MP is gone. No idea what I'm doing wrong. The only other challenge I haven't completed yet is Bonds of Friendship.
You have a build for just Hard mode story chapters?
I do yeah I'm gonna be doing some vids for hard mode when I get back tomorrow 😊. Won't be long till they are up hopefully.

I made this even easier for myself and equipped Cloud with all the ga spells, elemental fire etc. When alexander got staggered, i blasted him with 2 thundagas and a few sephi slashes and he died within one stagger. Cloud also had Genji gloves and massive magic boosts. It's like combining the magic build with the op:ness of sephiroth haha
Haha yeah you can do that as well. I've done this a few times trying out different build combinations. Next time I do it I'm just gonna try and parry everything see how fast I can kill things. Cause you build limit in like 1 or 2 parries lol
i need to try this. i'm getting screwed no matter what strat i use. lol. i'm also just getting old and suck at combat in general
can't wait to have rebirth on pc and the modders make Sephiroth permanent member. Should also be able to edit his materia.

It's more a precaution incase I need to heal/manawall. But yeah it also is very good to break the wings on bahamut lol

Yeah he's proper weird. I did a full guide on him but he's still one of the weirdest bosses. Oh I don't hit you galahorns warning, oh I hit you galahorns warning lol.

Thaank u very much for showing us this masterpiece. Did on my third try because i didnt know how to play with sephirot, but when i managed it was piece of cake. Bahamut entered on gigamode and i cried, but hopefully he didnt cast gigaflare 😅
Haha yeah that's the only thing with the last couple bosses. Their BS finishing moves that just KO you lol.
Now I want to try this with the materia that transfers limit to Sephiroth to be even more OP...
Tbh it does give him a bit of a boost I tried it and it makes It quicker. You can also put the enhanced expeditionary medal on cloud and siphon Sephiroths limit for clouds finishing touch lol.

What is stronger?
Finishing Touch or Octaslash combined with Octaslash Prime?
And if it is finishing touch, is it significant stronger? Because I figure you’d be buffing Seph, it may be a pain to buff Cloud and Seph in order to do FT for max damage.

Why does my zanshin not break bahamuts wings. I used brave
Are you using the empowered version which is pressing triangle after the first 2 hits. You need to have your bar full
@@Solestro ah I see thanks for the quick reply. So while I'm in zanshin I press triangle after 2 hits or normal attack. Press triangle after 2 hits and use zanshin?
No no, so when you build up that bar in the bottom left after a few hits of normal attacks it allows you to power up zanshin. So when that is full you use the Zanshin ability and when it hits twice you press triangle for the 3rd attack. That always breaks the wings. @@farhanhussain6584

I did it with a combination of this and the Cloud/magic build on some of the fights. This helped a lot with Odin!
Thank you for ALL the guides, just finished my last VR Sim, so all that is left is hard mode, which compared to these, I expect to be fairly easy LOL
Dont forget that synergy skill gives unlimited mp so could spam the -ga magics on Sephiroth
This is wayyy easier than bonds of friendship. The Odin fight with Zack and Cloud was HELL!
Hey solestro how did you get that dodging thing to work to build up limit? Sephiroth doesn't seem to want to go into the air.
I have the same setup as you but my stats are not as high, did you do this setup after beating it for the first time? If so will this still work with lower stats. All my Materia is MAXED out and I only have the last 2 VR missions left to do, all HARD MODE is complete.
this build was fun i used octinoob metira on cloud and added some haste and all and manawell this was crazy fun i may do this again
