- This was a very fun build to see in motion just the constant WUMP of the quake magic lol. If you guys have any other builds you think i should check out let me know!

These VR challenges could actually be pretty fun if it didnt have rounds. It's heartbreaking to get killed in that tenth round and having to spend 20 minutes to get back there. Such a bad decision for an otherwise excellent game

There comes a point when the level of frustration exceeds any attempt at fun. The pattern of systematically stunlocking characters and KO'ing them gets really old really fast. Between this design and the "Can't Stop Won't Stop" bug, SE made it easy for me to abandon my attempt at obtaining the platinum trophy.
I understand the frustration dude. The end game stuff can be a slog especially the VR missions.
I'm at attempt 92 on Hellions intonement and I'm done with the game. It's not me this time, and the self esteem issues I'm getting don't justify this trash endgame. The cheese builds don't even work 99.9% of the time. It's all a gimmick for players to publicly state how many hours they put into the game (wasted) so that they can increase sales via social media. The actual GAME where you move and fight and have fun 100% ends in the VR missions and everyone who makes guides sounds like they're depressed or sick, and look unhealthy and wouldn't pass a physical. They got lucky via RNG and we copy that, but some of us will never win, so it's time to put down this game, it is not worth the endgame trash. Stunlock, 1-2 hits and dead. That's what'll happen to you and me forever and we can't comprehend how useless this time wasting garbage is. It's a drawn out nostalgia trap that ends in misery. Part 3 is gonna suck too so let's enjoy the original and ignore the rest because while remake had some positives it is ultimately a cash cow and designed to waste your time. Everyone hates new games, TV and movies for a reason, those who like it are profiting from it. AI writes articles to promote it. After the main story it's a flop. I could have avoided so much misery if I just stopped when I realized the endgame is a boring ass scam.

They've butchered the story, characters, gameplay, and omg the fucking MINI GAMES ALL THROUGHOUT!
I'm done with SE, and I'm only keeping a bit of an eye on the Dragon Quest "2D, HD Remake" which who tf knows what that means. Other than that, this franchise is dead.

Yeah he's a debuff machine. I definitely need to play him more especially in part 3. He's pretty OP when you learn him

How does Time/Magnify get every enemy for you? For me it only grabs one or 2! Both Materias are maxed by the way!
@@kingkazma3246 it doesn't grab all. Time magnify only has a max of 3 targets.
@@Solestro Does Tonberry King resist Stop? Who should I target first? King or Joker? They killed me fast and I was wearing Karmic and Enhanced Karmic Cowls!
Best thing to do is just use the brumal form build from my other video. It's super quick compared to this. @@kingkazma3246

Stop (or dispel depending on the case),
Aerith ATB Boost,
Arcane on Yuffie,
ATB ward on Yuffie,
Build 2ATB Yuffie,
Doppelganger,
Yuffie ATB boost,
Yffie Quaga x2 (refill ATB by throwing her weapon),
As Caith has ATB assist his ATB will always fill quickly without you noticing you can then use STOP or HASTE for Yuffie to be able to cast nearly non-stop
You can use Aertih to cast Faith or Heal or Fire/Ice to finish a foe (replace PresDefFoc by ATBAssist on Aerith for a better result)
I had no difficulty with this config.

I love how he talks about how *not* hard these battles are... Meanwhile, I've been getting consistently WIPED on round 3 for weeks. It's a great build, but every time I pressure the Adjudicator and then use magic, it still reflects. And that's IF I can manage to pressure it before the other B@*!#&^$ take me out. I'm max level. Finished everything else. I've got this challenge, and those that won't unlock until I beat it left. This challenge makes me want to walk away from 200+ hours of work. I've never actually been so frustrated with a stupid video game that I've wanted to take a sledgehammer to my console, before, but as I sit outside at nearly midnight having my "calm down before you combust" cigarette, my eyes keep wandering to the hammer on the toolbox...
@@EvelynRose86 you can always use the brumal form for these battles. It's trivialises them if you are having issues. The reason I say they are not hard is cause I did them before anyone found any of these broken builds or before I found some myself lol. But like I said brumal form build easy fights.

@@Solestro I can generally get to round 4 with the quaga build. Wiped first round every time with the brumal build. It's a ruthless blow to my confidence, for sure.
Well you could always do what a lot of people have done so far and just pay me to do it for you lol. Most of the people in my discord joined for that reason. For help with the last 2 missions and some of these as they are such a pain. @@EvelynRose86

Edit: with a little tweek in Yuffies materia slots it worked: instead of auto-magic i took atb cooperation and wild trickster and luck+ , to compensate the magic loss i euipped her with the sorcerer accessory . I also gave Caith a atb shock materia, with those tweeks it worked fine
This challenge is driving me crazy, 8 times and I always lose to the Tomberry, I'll try this build to see if it goes smoother, wish me luck!
If not I would try the brumal build. Always smash through everything with that. It's crazy powerful.

I make it all the to the Adamantoise and I simply cannot get enough damage in, even though I’m doing the same exact thing and it’s working on every other round. I kill the eye and get the stagger but Yuffie simply cannot keep changing them, He enrages every time and I just cannot build ATB fast enough and stay healthy with the constant AOE spam all over the field, and usually by this time it is completely immune to stop.
I gotta say I’m usually a fan of extremely difficult content, I’ve done everything in every other mainline FF game and played every Soulslike to 100% completion but these challenges go past the point of being challenging and being just outright frustrating because of the way they are setup.
Try the brumal form method if you are having trouble. It's the video on my channel just before this, I'm works for 90% of the challenges.
@@Solestro actually I got it turned out I was forgetting to un-magnify Quake during the Adamantoise fight, that was the reason the damage wasn’t good enough, ended up finishing it tonight, thanks for the vid!

Honestly, this is the most helpful strategy of all I’ve seen on the tube. I can’t seem to get the other setups to work even though I do exactly as shown in the videos

I have a couple of problems with this method. For reference, my team is level 70, Cait Sith has debuff extensions and a Malboro Orb equipped. He casts a magnified Stop. Yuffie casts a magnified Quaga. Right off the bat:
1. Enemies resist stop after the first or second cast. It just ceases to work ever again for the remainder of the battle.
2. In the very first battle of this series, Quaga does nothing to the Maloceros. It just says "no effect" and does no damage. Enemies wake up, stop doesn't work, my whole team dies immediately.
Rinse, lather, repeat.
I wonder if they've patched it cause I tested this loads of times after this and none of them resisted anything.
@@Solestro So I'm not sure what was up with the quake spells, but they're working properly now. The "no effect" refers to the petrify status, but the stop resistance continues to be a problem.
It was a problem before the patch, too, because I tried a similar approach last week with the White Terror. That's the only one of these battles that really gives me a problem with my default team build and what led me to your video in the first place.
Before the patch, I was trying to cast stop on the WT, but he resists after the first or second cast, too, then just blows up my party in one howl.
None of the enemies behave in a real game the way they behave in guides online ;_;
@@SolestroThey patched these broken builds. I feel like these versions of the challenges don’t exist anymore. They’re much much harder now. The enemies are ridiculously aggressive
Update: I was finally able to beat it with this method. Magic Efficiency (or focus? Whichever makes it longer/stronger) 15% -> 25% makes an unbelievable difference, although the stop resistance still occurred eventually. I was able to stagger them before it kicked in, though, and the only battle that gave me trouble after the White Terror was the Joker / King Tonberry because it takes SO long to stagger them. Now I get to beat my head against the next brutal challenge for another two weeks. It’s like….so fun….*twitch*
If you can get Radiant Ward down, don't you take 0 damage while casting magic?
True! If you want to keep Yuffie and Aerith safe might definitely be worth putting it down. Especially if Aerith will be casting Comet.
Yup radiant does but I blasted them so fast it didn't really matter in most instances but for added protection you can. I did it in the brumal form video.
The ai in this game is amazing. When you use a spell aerith automatically rushes to the ward so comet double casts
I hope that’s the strat for me! I’ve been following a pretty much same build but with cloud instead of yuffie but of course the doppleganger which will make each cast x4 due to that and the ward I didn’t think. Gonna give that a go, the current Strat worked but final round gets way too stressful due to insta death but hopefully with yuffie I can kill him quicker before he’s an issue
If you haven't cleared it subversion+Warding will prevent instant death
Stagger clears all status effects (good and bad) I think so that's why the stop clears
Sorry dude, but your method doesn't work for me. I followed everything but at 0:49 the spell always fails to stagger the enemies and I end up getting beaten.
Round 10 is an absolute cancer, for me the joker basically teleports away from the king. It moves away so quick I can't catch it next to it. And when the king kills anyone, they aren't raisable. This fight is way too overtuned for just a magnify materia. I'm not sure I can even do it. And I've followed this exact build to the letter, also have problems with the round 8 enemies as well as the joker and king basically saying no to my stops, and they end so quick I can't get another off. It's a disaster.
Have you tried the brumal form build? If you aren't having luck with this one. The brumal build is crazy strong.

Would Yuffie spamming magic be an alt for virtual Seph? Get a ward set up, doppel spawned, firaga? Or quake, whatever, just to get him past the damn chain phase?
Potentially it's always something to try out. The magic builds are proper busted no matter what they are lol.
No matter what I do using this strat and build or others i cant seem to do it getting very very annoyed
youre not alone. This strat seems to not work for me at all and I get MURDERED so fast if everything doesnt go absolutely perfectly and... a lot of times... even IF it goes perfectly haha

I still dunno how to do it because idk anything about aeirth lol. it is kind of sad that they ruined it but it is kind of funny to watch that quake go off. I can't imagine how it's going to be for people who actually like to customize and personalize their combat style but anything to get the garbage brutals over. I'd rather actually enjoy hard fights but they are so unreasonably stacked against anything the player can do that you pretty much have to instantly do like 4 Quakes in a row like you're doing here.
Ill have to practice to get my AP up tho on a quake (possibly)
So the most important thing here is yuffie or cloud with that build and then we need everything the party for the wards is that correct? Sorry I'm kind of lazy. I prefer cloud barret and yuffie
Also now that I have watched the whole video I guess in regard to your final comment something that might help it's just typing out the character and the material that they have on in the description for example:
Weapon/armor name or slots required
Materia
Magnify paired with petrify
Atb boost
Posion and petrify linked with Mp Absorb
So basically for materia that do not need to be linked with others you can put them on a single line and for those that do need to be linked you can put the names both on the same line like I did above for magnify and petrify. I know that's a super tall order but it's a nice little detail that would be really cool and helpful personally I just write it down on a piece of paper and then do it whenever I'm copying the build but some other people might need the reference this is a very cool video anyway thank you very much i need to learn aerith after 170 hours of overcharge, triple slash and casting cure
I finally got this one in the bag! I thought I was done for too Yuffie was one hit killed screwing up my attack plan but I managed to Arise her then Hasting removing that pesky Slow too hit them with Quaga, doppelganger with Arcane ward quadrupling Quaga followed with Comentor. I'm telling you Yuffie and Aerith make a very good team!

Just got the platinum and completed every thing in the Play Log took about 231hours probably not gone play Rebirth for a few months now.
Oof, you're a champ. I got platinum in 180 hours but that was a painful experience🤣

Well done dude congrats on the plat. It is a proper slog with the VR missions the rest of the game was 11/10 but the vr missions were a bit stupid sometimes lol

The ole brumal ATB spam worked really well for me on this fight just with fire+ice instead of wind magic (fire linked to the mp absorb). Barret with breach. It was really just a matter of knowing when to magnify and when to take out a single monster first (looking at you ogre).
I don’t think this works anymore. The new patch nullified most of the broken builds. I notice all of these videos are at least two weeks old

@@Osna1 The RNG seems to be overtuned; super aggressive attacks from the fiends. But I’ve been figuring it out now. One thing I noticed is that you have to be maxed out on all materia to have a good chance

I wonder if thats happening for me cause im getting BUTT RAMMED and doing everything the same but the enemies just steamroll so fast and kill you in the first moment they get XD
@@TheHiveGuardianMax your materia, all of your materia. It definitely helps. I got to round ten with Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith. Hurts to get killed at the end, but Tonberry King and Joker are quite a challenge
In round 7 you lost stop because staggering an enemy cancels it early. I ended up doing this with the same build like a week ago but I used cloud instead of yuffie

@@Solestro yea it can be annoying but if they don’t have resistance you can stop them 3 times so you can stop them while they’re still staggered

Haha true but you can still do like 50k plus damage with 1 spell without Aerith. Sooooo lol.
Goddamn it this requires a second mastered ATB boost. Can you at least mention that in the description? Unless I'm missing something it seems to be very important... I tried with a regular and I could not get Aerith to both buff and cast the Arcane Ward. If there was a third First Strike I could probably pull it off, but I don't think that exists.
The brumal form cheese does not work on tonberry and the joker. I have very good coping mechanism to ultra hard challenges as i go way back to Snes days but this is just too much
Dude man these are so awful I can't stand it, I mean I beat all souls, can plat them, and this is just driving me nuts... I think it's so over the top necessary

Hmm, the reason this build does not seem to work for me is because after using 2 ATB bars for Quaga I am not refilling the bars fast enough to keep chaining them. Also Stop does not last nearly as long as it does in your video. I might try your Brumal Build ..that you used for Outer Worlds and hope that works, otherwise maybe I have to grind up Effiency/Potency Materia..
Yeah this was a fun build to see if it would work. It does but requires a lot of work compared to the brumal form. You can use that for most trials due to how much ATB you build you can just spam spells.

I tried with you and three other RUclipsrs showed me and I still don't - I'm not getting it and I'm struggling. I think I don't have the right materias and level (well I'm at level 70) but still I don't think I have the right weapons or accessories 😿 I was wondering if I could pay anyone through cash app to defeat this for me. Been on it for about a month & a week + etc 😢
Best thing to do is just grind the materia till it's maxed and just use the brumal form that I have in my previous video. I've done this challenge for loads of people on patreon before but only with the materias maxed. It just makes it easier ☺️
Is quakega better than aeroga for the caster? Not sure which setup is newer.
From what I've done I'd probably say Aeroga is better. But quakga is good for these due to hitting them multiple times from the same cast with extra enemies.

Awww god no. I'm pretty sure that was a thing in some other FF games. Flying enemies in 8 couldn't be hurt by quake. I feel like it was the same with the OG 7? Not 100% though

Yeah this is more a fun way when you know how to play the game. Just use the brumal form it's much easier. There's a video on the channel just before this that shows it
@@Solestro I've been playing Final Fantasy before u were born, young man. I've been gaming since PINBALL was introduced on Planet Earth, whippersnapper. You don't have to be harsh. I *KNOW* how to play the game. I only have this one to complete and just a few more but I got passed all the others with no sweat. I Platinumed Final Fantasy XV. I Platinumed Final Fantasy 7 and 8, I Platinumed Final Fantasy 12, I Platinumed World of Final Fantasy. And I have many more Platinum trophies and I 100%'d TONNNNNNS of games. It's not the fact that we "know how to play" or don't know how to play. The fact is that the people who make these video games have small 'members' and 'small member energy' they love making games extra extra extra extra extra extra extra difficult for us Giant Girthy Member Carrying People. A fact is a fact! Also, you played this befoooooore thee update. They caught all those little bugs and fixed everything. I've never heard of brumal form (or whatever it's called) but I'm eeeeeeeeexcellent at reading, learning, and comprehending. I'll look it up when I get off work today. Thank you for your time.
Thanks for this. You make it look so easy and you're not using a lot of shortcuts! I am and I am still getting destroyed, even in the first round. The thing that is hardest for me is the 10 rounds. If it were 5 rounds, I wouldn't feel so exhausted when I get to the last one and die and have to do it over again. I know that's the point of brutal but I really want that third Magnify. I just suck at this game lol
Edit 1: I switched the Tactical speed to 6 to see if that helps me any. I actually had to make it faster for the Rufus fight.
Edit 2 : You mentioned a Wind build. Where can I find that and would it be effective for this fight?

The wind build is very good most of my bonds of friendship matches on youtube have that build.
Yep, definitely faster and a cool team combo.. you choose sleep over stop and can 1 on 1 enemies or at least give Aerith time to setup... Did this with Aerith HPMP convert, reprieve, reraise and provoke on Red13.. Cait is the goat.. sleep on ememies then stop when stagggered

I had been trying to use Dispel on the Hecteyes and it didn’t work. Breach will remove its reflect?
I would be interested in your take on the Seventh Seal, as getting hit for 5k by 1 attack of a burt is not really helping me out there :)

What do you use to make stop last longer?
Imo he's either using an accessory or a 2nd time materia paired with magic efficiency
You're also using the magnify on quake when you have only 1 monster left, lowers the spell damage,
Also wouldnt it be better to synergy a petrify on aerith instead of the mp absorb as she will spam it as much as you then?
Yeah I always forget to take that off. It doesn't affect it too much with magnify on so I just neglect it lol.
Not sure haven't tested that, just found this to be consistent so left it this way. Feel free to tweak it and let me know 😁
I crushed this one with Cloud, Aerith, Yuffie using Magnify fire/Swiftcast/synergy on Aerith with Arcane ward

Thank you so much for sharing this!! Appreciate you! I was finally able to clear this one. This build is so much fun!
I made a couple of changes: Instead of Chakra and Barrier, I replaced with Fire/Ice and Thunder/Wind for Aerith. Towards the end of each round, I put ATB Ward under Yuffie (stacked on top of Arcane Ward), placed Aerith next to her and used magic to finish off slivers of HP if needed.

Great guide, but I really don't know if I want to level up all of my materia to do that. Those Magic materias need A LOT of AP...
True but there's loads of ways to level them up super quick now. You'd be surprised how fast you can level them up.
Use the queen bee who summons worker bees its a side mission out of nibelheim that shit will lvl up materia insanely fast.
How do you have 4 time materia?
You just buy them. It's one of the ones you can buy infinite amounts of lol
You can buy them after Cosmo Canion part of the gameplay

Aerith can’t cast breach or dispel, I really wonder why .. !!

[RESOLVED: Also, ATB boost never works for me on first try. I always have to press it 2-4 times. I have adaptive triggers turned off (should I turn them back on?), and I press fully, and wait until Aerith/Yuffie's current animation is over (since it definitely doesn't work while they are doing something else). How do I make ATB boost work on first press?]
I am in chapter 12, and have to wait until after the next patch before I can chapter select to an earlier chapter (so I don't have access to Cait Sith until then - cannot bear to restart CSWS again). I have Cloud doing all the Cait stuff, but my stop doesn't last as long, because I could recreate every other stat/materia/equipment in he build except for the 2 debuff extension weapon skills.
Is there any other way to extend the debuffs beyond the Enhanced Malboro Orb (got it on Cloud)?
Edit: Turning the adaptive triggers to 3 helped with the ATB Boost issue.
Edit 2: No real way to add further debuffs to Cloud. I just cast Magnify/Stop after ×2 Atb boost/Arcane/Faith/Doppleganger, to give the longest hold, and recast after all staggers. Skipping Aerith out of the way to do all setup commands helped mitigate damage taken during setup, and Cloud had room for a restore, revive, and an atb boost to keep the party alive while Yuffie Quad-Quagas.

2 Time materia needs to be paired with 2 Magic Focus to extend the duration of Stop. The build is shown in the end. It increases the duration by 50% total

You could buff it even more in a fight if you arent worried about MP while still having MP absorb. Using Magic Focus instead of Magic Efficiency. But for 10 battle challenges the efficiency comes in handy.
True you could make it even stronger but it's just incase. You don't really want to run out of MP

It depends how you pressure him. I nuked myself the first time lol. If you pressure them with physical they have a physical shield so spells work and visa versa.

Why not give Aerith another quake materia to go along with her synergy instead of comet?
Cause there is limited petrify in the game. So you need to keep them all on the one character for power.
@@Solestro I mean just for the pure damage aspect. Since comet is so hit or miss

I can make one if you are having trouble. I expected the quakga build to just blast through most things. I did all the challenges before I started making these guides and didnt find them too difficult with just my normal team. What part is giving you the most issue?

Did you try this build on Seventh Seal or Rulers?
Haven't tried it on rulers tried it on 7th and I think I messed it up as I died almost right away but you can always try.
Aerith's Spell blast synergy skill destroys Tonberry king spawns. When charged at max level with decent matk you do about 7-8k in a big cleave, building 1-2 atb for both characters depending on how many you hit and tonberries are too slow to really do much outside of teleport/grudge skills. Also rather than Synergy Meteor, wouldn't synergy quake be better, since it's a bit faster and adds to the petrify bar sooner. I actually don't know what maxing it out on an enemy that's immune to petrify does, I'm guessing bonus stagger/damage since there is specifically an immunity to the status that can build petrify (stone I think it's called) I'm assuming it does something if the enemy is immune to petrify.

I felt the first ones was SO easy and now ive been stuck on Hellions forever. Tried, im sure, over 40 times now. Feel like giving up :p mostly what I see is to slow atb Charges between slow and attacks. So i dont have time to build it up and as soon as that happens i get attacked on all fronts and then i spend the time trying to survive rather attack. So tiredddd but want that magnify materia :( 😢
Still havent made this.. ive been trying for suppose, 20hrs or more now JUST this fight. Got there for the first time in Alot of fights and i thought i got it - aaaand i got creamed by my own spell cause i forgot this deflects. Feel like giving up on everything again :p

Nice job on this. However, when I try I am dead by the time I set all the elements up to do the build. Seems like a lot of luck involved.
It can be a fair bit of luck with the build. The better one Is using the brumal form build. makes it way easier. Or you can use the hp- MP swap materia and keep spamming limits lol. I'm releasing a couple more videos about it.
Thanks for the response. Whats the Brunal form build? Having major issues with the wolf on the 5th round. It can 1 hit my whole party and its not even 10-15% of its health depleted at that point.

Any tips on how to stop the white terror wolf from 1 shotting the team before I can cast anything? I have mastered pretty much every materia and nothing takes much damage off that wolf.

That’s why AERITH has breach to get rid of reflect
Having the same issue and breach is unselectable while it has reflex on.
You have to pressure the Adjudicator with *only* physical attacks before you do *any* magic attacks. Their reflect triggers when you pressure them with magic.

I am doing this with my two magicfocus on time not maxed so my stop is a bit shorter, which makes some of them really hard. But I think it is doable.

Stop doesn't work anymore
Yuffie got revived but since the floating death is dead,
Yuffie can basically dodge any attack from the tortoise
Only difference is i put warding + dispel on yuffie as well i think, don't remember
at least now my materia collection is complete before grinding again,
swiftcast and magic focus materia was at level 4 ( not 5)
Yuffie is better than cloud (optinoob) because can safely attack from distance
Yuffie always best use first ATB for doppleganger because faster to build one atb again n then atb boost later
Doppelganger makes yuffie vulnerable, at least during the 1st stop, nothing to worry about,
Can cast quakega when 1st effect of stop wears off still causes stagger /pressure /stun lock
My last battle was abit messy too but i did not focus on joker at all, or made sure they're closeby, they're far apart.
Also always remember to switch magnify off when u only have a single enemy
And always deploy synergy ability that promotes unlimited MPs and heal during that time
Aerith casts thunder /thundaga + MP absorb whenever possible
Aerith won’t be in the game that’s how they will balance it.

Love these videos that make it seem so easy..then I try, copying everything 100% and doesnt work. Cant get past Tonberry |King, even with death resistance. So I guess it "works"...if you have a lot of luck on your side...
It still does take skill as well you need to pull the combo off consistently but it can't be that hard considering I did this on stream and it was the first time I used this build lol.
@@Solestro Im definitely not the best, so skill could be an issue, but some things just dont happen the same way for me. For instance, in your video, the Joker is nearly staggered after the first round of quakes, for me, he isnt even close. As I try to build ATB for the next round Yuffie dies to something invisible, even though TK is stopped.
i think the similar build with cloud and fury ring is better
