Gleyber is worse than Rizzo. Gleyber is at an age where he should be in the prime of his career and he sucks this much. Rizzo is an aging player clearly but still plays a solid style of ball. Gleyber is a LOSER of an MLB player

I was at the game tonight and when Gleyber made that error on the Ohtani grounder, I booed him mercilessly!!! He deserves it. He never gets held accountable by the organization. It’s time the fans do!!
Fans of both teams need to remember this is just a game. Remember sports is only here to distract us. Enjoy it but dont take it serious.
We had six players in the game hitting less than .230. How does anyone expect to seriously win that game ?

At some point we have to think to ourselves, is Stanton really providing anything to this team, eating up a DH spot permanently and batting .220 the past 3 years with 3 more years under contract. What are we expecting, 40 HRs, batting .250 with a 800 OPS. That Stanton hasn't been seen since 2021.
I agree, he is striking less this season, but considering that he doesn't play a defensive position, does not run the bases well at all, does not move runners, he is a hinderance. We all know that his salary is far beyond his worth, but it seems that not many want to say this out loud.
He’s close to that pace 37 hrs and was batting like .240 before the 0-10 the last two games
@@thealternative9580 The 0-10 cannot be dismissed, he is now hitting .228, and he is terrible at moving runners, and is a lousy baserunner, I like Stanton, but this season, he has struck out 30% of his plate appearances, and these are facts. These considerations, along with him not being a complete player, in not playing a position in the field, mean he is next to useless. The Yankees were stupid to have signed him to such a huge long-term contract.

This team can beat up on the Guardians, Twins and Brewers of the world but as currently constructed isn't going to get past the Orioles, Dodgers or Phillies in October. Time to make some changes.

No, he's not. He's been pitching well over the past 5 games. He's just hasn't got run support. Should be a good game today, possibly a pitchers duel.
The bullpen is a problem. Santana, Gonzales and Ferguson are not good enough. Neither is Lou Trivino, and Effross hasn't pitched since 2022. Then you have Kahnle giving up the grand slam. Looking kind of bleak. Thankfully the starters have been mostly outstanding.
I knew we were going to loss with Cortes on the mound... he is the winning streak breaker.
Tired of seeing Judge and Stanton hitting back to back, that order doesn’t seem to work and tired of seeing Rizzo and Stanton popping out.

You want Judge or Verdugo playing 1st?? I’m not diametrically opposed to it but I also value 1st base defense. It’s getting clear that the middle of this order is gonna need Dominguez pretty soon. No Soto for 2 days has exposed the flaws in this lineup

Stanton has always been the Dak prescott of baseball. Really amazing against bad teams, but against playoff caliber teams, he disappears
Good episode Derek! It's good to hear the hard honest truth. People in the yankee subreddit are in full denial about the current situation. I know Stanton's stats aren't bad but imo he isn't passing the eye test. I think Dominguez would be a big upgrade and give the team more options. Soto could use that time as a DH to heal up.
Hal just has to look at the last two games to see what an impact Soto has on this team...without him, the batting order gets screwed up, the weaknesses reappear like last year, and we go nowhere. We need to make sure this guy is signed to a long term deal...Rizzo needs to go...he's useless right now...

I know he has had a few moments here and there, but Stanton is really a drag on the offense, because ha can't get runners in. That first inning was the textbook example. He has turned into Dave Kingman.

This team is not as good as its record. I keep hearing about how great the lineup is but I must be missing something. After 1-2-3 and Verdugo it’s complex dog 💩. We can probably live with one of the corner infielders but not both, need to upgrade. Santana should never pitch again. When Cole comes back move Nestor to the Bullpen. Bring up Dominguez. Trade for bullpen arms at the deadline.
After 8 win streak 2 losses not unusual. One poor pitching performance from Cortes, but 4.1 from Poteet drained the pen. Predictable result in this game, however Cortes to the bullpen when Cole arrives. Rizzo is done, Gleyber on a rocket to deep space his home environment, Martian is called up, add to pen, win behind Gil tonight and all will be well. Listen to a few of the Dodger after game shows from the past few weeks and you will hear much concern regarding the team. This is an upswing for them , NYY management must make the moves which put LA in rear view mirror.

The reason we don’t beat good teams is because Boone is too soft. There’s no accountability. It’s okay to make errors according to him. It’s okay to go 1-26 and be praised for hard work, and if you get a bruise or bump or inflammation it’s okay to rest a few days and lie to fans about being used as a pinch hitter. I mean Shaking my head. We have a babysitter as a manager. Nick Saban won national championships because he wasn’t a babysitter. If you were bruised had inflammation you played. If you stunk you sat. No Soto, Grisham on the field, Staton and Rizzo back to being lost at the plate, our least competitive starter on the field,.. = you lose.. it’s no heartbreak loss but just a reminder if you are really all in than there is still work that could be done to improve
