  • This is Viking Reacts: ZEIT by RAMMSTEIN - This made me uncomfortable... But it is pure musical art.
In this video, we're reacting to RAMMSTEIN's song, "ZEIT." ZEIT is a dark and intense song about the passage of time, and its lyrics were very uncomfortable to watch. Please leave your thoughts in the comments!

The scene where they are in the blowing sand, I interpret each member as the various ways people react to time passing. Till is fighting against it. Ollie is stoic and taking it. Schneider is playing in it. Paul accepts it. Flake appears to try and control it. Richard reached out like a warning, don't come any closer, you can't follow me.

I have been wondering whether I should post this comment... Whelp, here it goes... This song hits me very hard. I also have two young daughters, and the thought of anything happening with them or my wife is nightmare-fuel. The part of the video that shows the father losing his daughter is always tough... I have watched Zeit many times, yet it always hits me. The plea for time to stand still resonates so loudly at the moment, as only 3 days ago my father got the news that his cancer is back, and the doctors give him a year. While we are a family of faith, and are at peace with whatever happens, I still wish time could stand still. I guess the blessing is that we now appreciate every day that we have, and take nothing for granted. Sorry if this brought the mood down, but just wanted to say that your analysis of Rammstein videos have been brilliant, and thank you for this small anonymous corner of the internet where I can put my feelings into words. Danke.

This is one of the best songs ever made by Rammstein, audio and video for its own. You are the first reactor i saw who understood the meaning of the black figures as norns and not "the death". This was also my first video and i wondered why you can read and understand german, but you are from the netherlands i see?

....." On February 29, 1944 the ' British Ministry of lnformation ' sent the following note to the higher British Clergy and to the BBC. ........Sir, l am directed by the Ministry to send you the following circular letter : It is often the duty of the good citizens and of the pious Christians to turn a blind eye on the peculiarities of those associated with us. But the time comes when such peculiarities, while still denied in public, must be taken into account when action by us is called for. We know the methods of rule employed by theBolshevik dictator in Russia itself from, for example, the writings and speaches of the Prime Minister himself during the last twenty years. We know how theRedArmy behaved in Poland in 1920 and in Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Galicia, and Bessarabia only recently. We must, therefore, take into account how theRedArmy will certainly behave when it overruns Central Europe. Unless precautions are taken, the obviously inevitable horrors which will result will throw an undue stain in public opinion in this country. We cannot reform theBolsheviks but we can do our best to save them - and ourselves - from the consequences of their acts. The disclosures of the quarter of a century will render mere denials unconvincing. The only alternative to denial is to distract public attention from the whole subject. Experience has shown that the best distraction in is ' Atrocity Propaganda ' directed against the enemy. Unfortunately the public is no longer so susceptible as in the days of the " Corps Factory ", the " Mutilated Belgian Babies " and the " Crucified Canadians ". Your cooperation is therefore earnestly sought to distract public attention from the doings of theRedArmy by your wholehearted support of various charges against the Germans and Japanese which have been and will be put into circulation by the Ministry. Your expression of belief in such may convince others. I am, Sir, Your obediant servant ( Signed ) H.HEWET, Assistant secretary. The Ministry can enter into no correspondence of any kind with regard to this communication which should only be disclosed to responsible persons. " - pages 209-210, ' Allied Wartime Diplomacy ' by Edward J. Rozek.
☠️☠️ ......ATROCITY PROPAGANDA - " Atrocity propaganda is how we won the war. And we're only really beginning with it now ! We will continue this atrocity propaganda, we will escalate it until nobody will accept even a good word from the Germans, until all the sympathy they may still have abroad will have been destroyed and they themselves will be so confused that they will no longer know what they are doing. Once that has been achieved, once they begin to run down their own country and their own people, not reluctantly but with eagerness to please the victors, only then will our victory be complete. IT WILL NEVER BE FINAL. Re-education needs careful tending, like an English lawn. Even one moment of negligence, and the weeds crop up again - those indestructible weeds of historical TRUTH. " - SeftonDalmer (1904-1979), former British Chief of ' Black Propaganda ': Said after the German surrender in 1945 in a conversation with the German Professor of lnternation Law Dr.FriedrichGrimm. ☠️☠️☠️........ " Thanks to the terrible power of our International Banks, we have forced the Christians into wars without number. Wars have a special value forJews, since Christians massacre each other and make more room for usJews. Wars are theJews' Harvest, The Jewbanks grow fat on Christian wars. Over 100-million Christians have been swept off the face of the earth by wars, and the end is not yet." - rabbiReichorn, speaking at funeral of Grand rabbiSimeon Ben-Judah, 1869.christiansfortruth.com/post-war-u-s-occupying-forces-believed-germany-justified-in-war-and-hitler-served-his-country-constructively

Perhaps you noticed that int the video the footage was running backwards. Because you can understand German you may find this interesting: The first three lines of the lyrics are:
Manches sollte manches nicht/Wir sehen, doch sind wir blind/Wir werfen Schatten ohne Licht.
Written backwards they also make sense:
nicht manches sollte Manches/ blind wir sind, doch sehen Wir/ Licht ohne Schatten werfen Wir.
As far as I know Till writes the lyrics and he is always brillant.

Amazing interpretation again. I am so sorry for you having had to go through such a horrible dream as well. No wonder it hit you so hard. :(
That song always hits me so deeply too, it nearly (or entirely, depending my current state of mind) makes me cry no matter how often I listen to it and watch the video. It's so emotional and it matches the power and impact of time just perfectly. How it stands above everything else. How it controls everything, in one way or another. And kind of also how we have no choice but to make the best of it.
I love getting back to that song every once in a while, even though with my personal biases such as a generally weak mental health, being a highly sensitive empath and the fact that time took most of my family before I even just turned 25 (I'm 32 now), it can be really hard to take in. At the same time it always reminds me of how we shouldn't waste our precious lifetime. I also take from this masterpiece that we should cherish it for the gift it is, no matter how challenging it might seem. In the end, we're all one, we're all just grains of sand in the flow of time, and now matter how lonely and lost we might feel at one moment, once our time comes, we'll all be united again.
In a way, I think looking at it like that can provide a kind of comfort barely anything else could.♥

@@VikingReacts well that's fine, but you understood me, that's beautiful. Angst und Depressionen können einen lähmen. But like Herbert Grönemeyer said in one of his songs "Stillstand ist der Tod" and that's exactly what it felt like for 15 years. So when Till said "sterben lebend in den Tod" it hit very deep for me. I don't need to fully heal before i dare to make a move. No i must not wait to be fully healed. I need to keep moving. Because that is what life in itself is... It's movement and never ending change happening. Dead things don't move. Stillstand ist der Tod. So even life depends on time.

Another thing that came to my mind is the babies being put back in to the mother to be born again on earth and also coming back in a sense they died on earth and are now being born in the other world and their birth or rebirth on earth is them already starting to die because as soon as your born your dying..your dying to live or as Rammstein put it "Wir sterben weiter bis wir leben" "We keep dying until we live" because in a sense what we perceive as dying is us actually being born again into the other world that's why the girl in the end seems happy when she dies because she knows that her death here means her being born over there..if that makes any Sense? The three creepy figures are called time keepers by Rammstein. Doubtless an referring to the Norns. According to the "Völuspa", Norns (Nornir) are three immortal female figures in pre-Christian, old Germanic/Nordic mythology who sit on the banks of the Urd River at the root of the world ash Yagdrasil and spin the threads of fate for gods and humans. (The three sinister figures in the Rammstein video undoubtedly provide an analogy) The names of the three Norns are:
"Urd" (fate / that which has become) She is an old woman who constantly looks back over her shoulder at the time long past.
"Verdandi" (Present / The Being) She has the form of a young woman who is always looking ahead.
"Skuld" (Future/The Becoming) Unlike Urd and Verdandi, Skuld is an unpredictable force that has no love for gods or humans. She wears a veil and holds a book or scroll in each hand. Her gaze is always directed in the opposite direction of Urd's gaze.
The Nornir spin the thread of Fate and life for every human being, and when that thread is severed, the human's life ends. Remnants of this mythology can still be found today in the Germanic/Nordic language area. There is a commonly used saying for a person who is in danger of death. "His life hangs by a thin thread only".

Admittedly I have become somewhat of a reaction junkie. Of all those reactions the best for me has always been first-time listeners of Rammstein. Not that you're one of those, or whose only experience has only been radio Du Hast, but since then Rammstens has matured immensely. Video of the Year award ain't even on the radar of mainstream music sadly. Great reaction.

Yes, the Norns, Urd, Verdandi and Skuld, much like the Fates of Roman mythology, or the Moirae of the Greeks. Thank you for mentioning them, you are the first one to do it, everybody else is wondering what these three figures are... I guess they don't do any crossword puzzles in German (Urd is a very common word in them lol). I think they (the band) deactivate the comments in all their official videos, and I can understand why, when you think of the common trolls who would insult them and everybody else with their stupidity.

I would love to have a sit down with them and discuss the meaning behind their videos. I would want to brush up on my verbal german though as speaking it became an issue after not having spoken it daily for 25 years or so. And the Norns came up as they are 3, large and looming like the Jotunn and in combination with the thread in the start of the video which could depict life/destiny as they would for the Norns ;).
      Thanks for your words!

@@VikingReacts yes, I would love to have a sit down with them, too. They're such interesting, smart and educated people. Flake has written some books, at least two I'm aware of, there is a video where he reads some excerpts, it's called "Heute hat die Welt Geburtstag" and he talks about many things, his experiences on tour and more. I have to get it one of these days. :)

I'm ancient. Loss doesn't get easier, but like Ren said, you do relax into the dance. Everybody I loved is dead. In a few hundred days -- maybe a couple of thousand -- I'll be where they are. Even if that is nowhere, the idea of it gets more comfortable. Pretty soon I'll be with the Mammoths and T-Rex. If I finally find out what the hell the little front arms were good for, I'll try to cross the veil and let you know. (-: ••• Thanks! PEACE!!!

    ⏳ TIME⌛
    Some things should
    Some things shan't(should not)
We see, yet we are blind
    We cast shadows without light
After us, there will be a 'before'
Out of youth, necessity is born already
We keep dying until we live
    (We) die living into(the)death
    We drift towards the end
    No rest, just striving forward
Endlessness is waving at the shore
Captured in the river of time
    Time
    Please stand still, stand still
    Time
This shall go on forever and always
Warm body will be cold soon
    One cannot conjure the future
    Allows for no stay
    Creating and destroying immediately
I lie here in your arms
Oh, could it just be like this forever
But the time knows of no mercy
    Already, the moment is gone
    Time
It is so beautiful, so beautiful
    Everyone knows of
    The perfect Moment
    When our time has come
Then it is time to go
Stopping when things are at thier best
    The clocks stand still
    The moment is so perfect
    But the time keeps running(out)
    Moment, would you Please remain
    I'm not ready yet

My interpretation and thought was time goes on like a continuous cycle and those rare occasions when we are truly happy of course we want time to stop. The showing of the sand and hourglass ⌛ time keeps going and them showing the scenes reversing to me meant a desire to go back in time either to the moment of birth and start our lives over or to before we're even born saying no i don't even want to be born i want to go back before i was even conscious of my own existence and mortality. Them being blindfolded to me was no one knows whats going to happen in the future we don't know what kind of lives these babies are going to have.

Listen . Without sounding like a morbid fuck the truth is once tour born your destined to die. I remember a sub teacher saying to us in primary school each day you live your closer to death and it's true. This video just highlights it. Life's too short. Let's live and let love into our lives. The world's always gonna throw shit at us so let's just make muckballs and get dirty but live good life's x

10:36 Dreams can be so real, that I know several things feeling. If you try to think of being just before death penalty, you can think it through but I dream sometimes of it and I might say, I absolutely know the helpless, alone, frightened and unrel feeling. And I dream sometimes about my son being ill and the doctor tells me he will die. This ruins my whole day and I stay with my saying, your imagination is Kindergerden, but dreams can give you the exact feeling. Last example. Sex, when you dream from sex it can be totally satisfying and lets you thing after standing up about the good time but imagine this issue, only makes you horny, no feelings so strong as in a dream. Sorry, this isn’t meant disrespectful.
