I am really shedding tears right now reminiscing about my times in the 80s, WOW! I so love this & the orchestra just adds that much more joy to an already fantastic tune, Thanks A Million for sharing❤
Always made me smile and feel happy when Hircut 100 came on the radion. Nick Heyward is such a lovely, kind, gentle man, who has not lost his zest for the music. Loved the 80s and the music. so upbeat, happy and positive but Haircut 100 were something else. Always made me smile. Still sounds incredible at 62. Lucky to be a teen in the 80s growing up to an exciting fun decade, particularly the early 80s
One of the bands who made the 80s the 80s....🎉...Brilliance....lemon fire brigade + you suddenly smiled. were amazing...also his solo ' whistle down the wind ' brilliant.
Oh wow ❤ , I saw them live and had everything that they produced, I waited outside a gig and got n touching distance of Nick Heywood when I was a young teen , brilliant 😅, love their music.
Not only is this a sweet tune and beautifully done , I will i can convey the feeling i get get when i hear it ... once again. The memory of days gone by.. a much more innocent time in the world.
@@stewartmac1 not sure many people would rate them or even remember them from the 80s. Hardly a household name!! But I think this clip reminded me how good they were! That’s it…nothing more existential than that
It's a great song. Why? I know because I truly remember hearing this song for the first time. Where I was: south of Stillwater Mn, What I was doing: driving through a country road past corn fields on bright summer day 1982. I didn't hear it for a long time afterwards but it stuck with me. Great job Nick.
Wow awesome!! Better than originally. Always loved this song! Looks like most of the original band, backing guitar, bass, drums, lead singer all there. Peace, Love, Courage from David in Detroit.
Ok it's a distant link. I dated a girl called Linda Mayfield at this time . A woman she worked with was the lead singers mum. Linda saw her every day. We lived in Wandsworth SW London, He was very young then so I guess he lived at hime too. When that first album came out I said to Linda, can you ask his mum if he can sign this album for me. Loved the songs. I would have been 23 ish. She said, are you serious :-) We were more into the jam and Paul Weller. Well maybe not I said but they are famous !. If they had become another Rolling Stones band I would have regretted it. Still they made some great songs. :-).
great - not trying to replicate it, just distilling the essence after 40 years reflection. Thanks for this music - a bunch of punk rock/ska loving surfers in NZ loved Pelican West!

Sweet Mother. I'm walking home from school. Singing along.
Dear Lord. You have no idea how happy this make me.

One of the greatest 80’s albums hands down. I also loved hard rock & new wave. Good is good man. Fantastic song. Fantastic album.
Superbly done! Great to see Nick Heyward doing well.
Saw them two weeks ago and they sounded amazing! Waiting 40 years for that show.
One of my favorite groups during that time. I wore out this cassete in my car stereo during the summer of '83. This rendition is awesome.
Nick's voice is so velvety.💕
Pelican West is still my favorite album from that period. Great musicianship, clean cut image and great songs. I still listen to it today.
One of the best albums ever! My fav. Album!
Spring Session M from Missing Persons is the best from that era. All Zappa Musicians

Still a tight band. Brilliant 👏 😊
Brilliant
Nick looks like a refuge from the band in the Charlie Brown Christmas show. And I mean that as a compliment.
He looks and sounds great at his age.👍
Great to see Nick with Les Nemes and Graham Jones, not sure if Blair Cunningham was there, but the beat was very Blair like. Just brilliant
I see the original core 3 of Nick, Les and Graham are back together for this... and still sounding "Fantastic".
Don't forget the drummer!! Blair Cunningham is way in the back as well!
Thanks DG... I didn't see him back there. Great musician who has worked with countless bands!
i loved this when i was younger , im 54 now, still love it.
I haven't seen them since they did Bands Reunited. They sound outstanding. Beautifully done. Still have their record.

This is ridiculous: it sounds as fresh as the day I first heard it in the 1980s!! What an underrated track and band. Top stuff
‘Underrated’ by whom exactly?

Beautiful arrangement. Who is the artist on the bongas. . . Beautiful lady
Anyone know who she is
Wow!
great to hear a bit of Ken Bruce at the start. I still can't fathom why R2 let him slip away...
great - not trying to replicate it, just distilling the essence after 40 years reflection. Thanks for this music - a bunch of punk rock/ska loving surfers in NZ loved Pelican West!
love it
How cool.. loved it.. so when does ABC have a go?
They need to record again , Nicks last solo album was amazing
Hated this song as a kid, have grown to really like it, I guess we've both aged like fine wine?
Is that zeke on the drums?
I don’t understand why the camera only focused on Nick and those people of the orchestra but paid no attention to other members of the band
