I used to eat these back in the day. Occasionally, I still have one. I was born and raised in East Harlem. A new twist to an old favorite. I have to take a trip to this place to try this. Much love from NY. 💕
Still think the one-on- 110th and 1st where I grew up is the best chopped cheese ever little twist but don't seem like that to me East Harlem all day

I was just incarcerated for over a month due to legal issues but Jehovah blessed me to be out as of right now.I haven't been watching any of your videos around that time. I'm a fan favorite and these videos, it brings so much nostalgia, and peacefulness to my soul. You bring so much inspiration to me even though I don't make food vlogs, I use your determination and other things that you bring to your videos and incorporate them to my life. Chopped cheese burgrs have been around forever in Central NJ. All the corner stores sold them. There was even a truck called the Boom Burger that was famous for them. Same concept, different names.
Omg yes I was going to comment this because I grew up with all the corner stores selling the only thing is we order them by the whole name and New Yorkers just shorten it.

I see a lot of people in the comments “ oh the chopped cheese started here, it started there” at the end of the day is a east coast thing, that comes from the black/brown community because it’s affordable, easy and quick to make . It’s now becoming a global thing, as it should. That’s the purpose of food, for everyone to experience and enjoy. I don't mean any disrespect but I started running the Harlem Chopped Cheese out my spot Krust Kitchen in Madison, NJ bout 2 years ago. I used to live by Hadji's in East Harlem back in the late 90's/early 2000's and that was my late night spot. This one looks great and i'm glad that it's spreading in NJ. i like how 40 years later they call it chop cheese when back in the 70's it was known as a chopped cheeseburger, they were makin these in baltimore way back in the day when i worked at the shipyard.....
The plantain sandwich was created decades ago in Chicago. It's called a Jibarito here. Usually made with lechon or steak but made with everything now. Usually with a side of arroz con gandules

I was born in NY raised in Delaware and NY and was just telling my husband I wanted a chopped cheese. I had my notifications off and completely missed your Delaware Vlog..Def try Ioannoni's (pronounced I own knees) lol and get the Roast Pork w Broccoli Rabe and Sharp provolone..or the Cheesesteak..Meatballs and Gravy Fries..delicious and they're huge!!
