The other detail channels for the most part are average at best.I've ran a mid level detail shop for a decade. Most of the other channels are easy to call out mistakes ,and bad habits/work.Larry has it pretty dialed in.Also most channels are there to sell you product.A great detailer will get better results with a Meguiar's level product. We sell high end products at the store, but use really basic products on cars. It's just not worth it
Man the music has been getting better and better, gotta say I've really been enjoying the selections. Your skills are always on point so nuff said on that
Oh wow! I have been waiting for this detail since you started teasing it. It's truly amazing what those cars are capable of. They are super car territory for sure.
Bravo, Larry 👏🏼 I’d go for a matte wrap if I wanted that finish. Matte looks great but mamma mia it’s only a matter of time before heartbreak shines in… 😖
A lot of people at this end of the market are leasing and returning the car after a few years at most, so they don't give a damn. My neighbor does this with his C63AMG - replaces it every 3 years with a new one - literally washes it with a house broom and bucket of whatever during those 3 years, as it doesn't have any effect on his lease how awful the paint ends up, he knows he's getting a shiny new one eventually. Of course this car is a lot more of a collector type thing, which I guess is why the owner is paying for a pro detailer to look after it.
Holy moly I’ve 7 different channel on youtube today with all different genres. But all advertising for AG1. Must have alot of money on the back to support all these channels
Excellent vid, as usual. As someone who "was" an old school muscle car guy -and slowing becoming a German Car lover (own a little A3) this was a great car to see!
@@Average.1JZ.Enjoyer No you're not, it probably already did. Thankfully thermostats aren't that big of a deal. That motor is great and very tunable, I enjoyed mine more than I expected.
I had a matte m8 as a daily driver and it was insane to maintain. I had to wash the car almost twice a week because the road grime would be so bad on the car. It was cheaper to actually PPF the whole car over time, which after I did it made the car 100x easier to maintain.
That paint looks like a bigger pain in the ass to upkeep than it’s worth! I imagine if someone can afford this car they wouldn’t be the one maintaining it though.
I just did a BMW M2 last week. Same color as this M4. The M2 was stick shift. Oof! What a car. Whoos! The M2 was not the same color. It was a shiny light blue.
Have a matte paint car coming in two weeks. Thanks for the info. I hope to pick it up on a nice day and immediately drop it off for a full matte PPF wrap and ceramic coat. I understand the matte ppf is a tad more forgiving, but I'll maintain it as you demonstrated.
At 7:52 is the brake pad hardware installed incorrectly? It looks like it isn't installed correctly but i'm not sure if thats how it is for this car. I would've thought it goes under the pin like some other brakes ive seen. Interesting if that is how they are meant to go.
@2:49 is that all soap? Seems like a lot but maybe that's why I'm not getting the shaving cream effect I see on YT. I'm also using just cheap mr pink CG and a cheap karcher pressure washer so maybe those might have an effect too
Hey Larry, have you ever thought about putting your rotating wheel stand on a pedestal in order to bring it up to chest level? I feel like that way you won't have to hunch so much!
Really like the channel, I've been waiting for you to show us a matte finish car, I've never understood why you'd order one myself, though I did have my GR Yaris paint corrected & matte wrapped when new, just to make it different & mine, Rj in Oz
larry i love your work and videos you are awesome and you also a SANTA because you gave everyone free advice like a gift, sorry my english is not good but i hope you understand what i'm trying to say, thanks LOVE FROM INDIA
I had an 82 S-10 that I painted matte black and it was one of the best finishes I had laid down til that point, but if any oils got on it, they stood out like a green hat with an orange bill. Fingerprints wouldn't wipe away without warm water and soap. Lol
what an amazing car, i love the design and paint as well. but it's way more complicated when cleaning it up, basically you can't do any errors! that's crazy, but this one had the master detail so she was lucky.
Please get some wheel stud hangers. Ding a rim on carbon ceramic brakes and you will crack them. Ask your snap on guy, he has them. Love the vids as usual!
Great example of why I won't have a matte paint job on my car... I'd wrap it in a matte finish wrap before doing that. Have you ever detailed a vehicle that used a Line-X undercoat as the top coat. I have seen a Jeep Wrangler done that way. The entire Jeep was coated with Line-X. I thought that might be interesting as a accent for texture on a car.
Thank for the informative video! Question about the power washer. You said no more than 1200 psi almost all pressure washers I find are higher than that. Do you have a recommendation on a good 1200 psi unit?
@AMMO NYC Hello from Australia I have just been delivered my CSL. To my horror, during transport, somehow some oil spray found its way on the matte paint which has caused marring. Can you please let me know how you would deal with that and where i can purchase your recommended products to deal with the Marring, if you have a distributor in Australia? Many thanks
Been watching your work for bit, so my question, what do you look for when shopping for a detail shop that will be thorough, and knowledgeable in their work? As much as I would love to have you do it, not everyone can be local.
Got my EQS in white matte paint, and damn, is so hard to mantain clean, and scratches easy with the little stones of the road, ppf is a obligatory option..
Is just pre washing the car with water enough to rid most of the dirt before a contact wash?? I’d have though rinsing the snow foam then contact washing would reduce the risk of marring the paint?? Be interesting in people opinion on this
Love your products and videos! Do you think you could do a product review of all your stuff compared to others that have recently come out. I would love to see how it stacks against the new competition out there.
The centre steering wheel marker comes from rally, so drivers know where the front wheels are pointing (AFAIK). Matte paint - yuk. Those wheels, what a pain! But man, that performance is just intoxicating.
Wash it, it's corrosive so it's a good idea to get it off ASAP, but if you don't want to bother with that you can use something like frothe to just spray the area of interest and wipe it down.
Gorgeous looking car although those wheels look like a nightmare to maintain - even more complicated than the competition wheels on my old M4 and they were bad enough!
Given it's a rough surface, I suspect claying would be pointless since the point of clay is to leave a smooth surface. Never tried it, but I expect it would bind. Matt paint it probably the most retarded trend in car fashion since chrome spinners.
Matte finish is the definition of self-inflicted pain😃 Any little damage or imperfection is basically unfixable, you take a small rock hit or a surface scratch and you get to stare at it forever. Ceramic coating does not protect against either type of damage. And, matter finish doesn't even look that good, although that is obviously subjective.
Yet again Larry, your knowledge of detailing, paint, etc is impeccable. Your the the man dude.
Always love the content, my all time favorite car detailing channel

love the car, hate the paint... thanks for bringing us, Larry.
Not love , like.
The car (cls) is the paint. So your statement is bullshit. The paint makes this a csl
Matt paint maintained is awesome.
@@CovKid2K10 Go Kia !
Hate the car, hate the paint - they are both ugly as f*ck.
Never knew matte finish is so hard to maintain. Great job as always 👍. Excited for the yellow countach
That’s why matte ppf is the best alternative
Basically, Matte painted car must always have Satin PPF with.
@@jason21jburg I had matte wheels they were a nightmare evenwith weekly wash
Larry with a” race car” is pure bliss. Just happiness. Especially after the detail.
Very informative, Larry! Well done, sir!
I love this style of BMW, my all time favorite era of BMW, the grille has grown on me, used to think it was ugly lol

This was really informative on how to take care of matte paint. What a beautiful car!
As current owner of a frozen bronze 4 series this was of particular interest. Thankyou!
Came across this channel a few months ago and all I can say is this is by far the best channel on RUclips
Bravo, Larry 👏🏼

I really like the small infocards you put into the video! Great as always, learned a lot!!!
FINALLY! A recent matte finish video. I've been waiting to see how you do your washes due to my motorcycle also being matte. Great content as always!

i like all the random bits of info you add in
“Stealth” ppf on a gloss paint car makes soo much more sense than getting matte paint
Absolute beast of a car. Love the look of matte paint, hate the maintenance.
Another exceptional video. Matte paint is a challenge to care for.
Dang Larry. What a Vehicle to be able to Detail, and....... take out for a Burn. NICE!! I could feel my Back just watching!

special respect for the studs on the wheels so that when removing the wheel you don’t accidentally break off the brake disc
Larry Kosilla , the master of all detailers , specially those RUclips “detailers” that learned from you.
