5:55 YEEEEES, I LOVED the choice of music of him going off the jump and then landing. We’ve all seen videos that go for maxximum sick epickness - but this film was about finding relief, not maximum impact. And the music reflected that beautifully. Actually made me cry. I guess it was also down to the amazing pacing where I got just enough information right before that moment to really feel its significance for Braxton.
I love the personal touch that you give all your videos… whether it is on RUclips or in one of your AOD modules. It is a wonderful invitation for the viewer to come in closer and get to know you. It really helps deepen the meaning to whatever you share. Thanks for that!!
so true on the grading/color 👏 one of the better combos of subtle + impactful I've seen in a while. not to minimize allll the other hard work in this vid, but you're right, the editing is a real stand-out aspect here 👌
Stoked you enjoyed our sunrises too mate I gotta say I thoroughly enjoy how you suck the audience in with your style of storytelling camera work and subject empathy you have changed my game truly cheers mark
Thank you for doing this BTS, I've been re-watching Trails trying to work out how and how hard! that cloud stuff is next level, you'd just never know unless told! brilliant.
there is so much cones out there about filmmaking, as well as filmmakers, But there is some real talent here, its great to see thank you , you info on the music score is proof of that, keep up the great work
I like how you connect multiple aspects of your creativity to the projects you work on. That’s a nice integration that’ll make sure you’re connected with the film rather than making some money.
this video could titled "the best of Mark Bone" - you put everything into it - It was a sort of mini-vlog, little drops of personal info, a few dashes of humor and then as always, technical gold by giving us something I never thought of - this time it was the sound track supporting the meditative vibe rather than the epic 'we made the jump' music - now I see that you were focusing on the existential far more than the physical - when I watch this channel. I am always learning
Just a ton of wisdom in slotting the big jump into the middle with a more muted score, Mark. Appreciated your explanation for that. You’re right, it was different, but you had a purpose for that difference. It fit. I give this a “nah, yeah” for sure.
thank you all for so many questions! I wish i could have gotten to them all. leave them below or in the AOD Facebook group and I'll try to get to them!
Thanks so much for answering my question at 5.25 Mark! It makes compete sense from the story feel point of view. The intent of the moment really shone through, and you are so right, selecting the right track for the intended feel of the moment is so important. I will remember that for my next film. Thanks mate. The grade and sky replacement was amazing too btw! P.S. Hope you enjoy Aus mate! And... I like the word 'ethereal'... 😁
@@superemesean5907 NahI was hoping to find it in the description. But I'm sure it's on Musicbed. @markbone What was the name of the Gap band "Outstanding" remix?
Mate. Not a u-banger, it’s called chucking a u-ey. And that last accent was definitely kiwi. Thanks for another great vid. Hope you’ve been enjoying Aus.
Mark I use the Ronin D4 too. I am using rode mic with it and everyone is talking about the noise in the sound. I lowered the fan. what else do we do to have clear sound and no static?
