Great video. This worked perfectly for my 2010 335i E90. Bye bye nasty ABS warning lights. I was quoted $2500 to do this job from 2 shops so I decided to give it a go. The second hand unit cost me $125 and this whole job including bleeding too around 4 hours to complete. My additional tips are: (1) When removing the 3 nuts at around 7:50 on the video (dont drop these whatever you do) as I didn't have magnets I used some kitchen aluminium foil doubled over to wedge between the nut and my socket. This wedged the nut fairly securely into the socket recess so I could lift it out and later put it back in place on the bolt for tightening. (2) Second tip is that the 3 or 4 warning lights remained on after the replacement but they disappeared after driving the car for about 50 metres. I guess there is some kind of synchronisation process that requires motion and/or braking to get it started. Thank you Vehicular DIY. I owe you a few beers.
This video helped me replace my DSC ecu (my pump was fine); coded, changed the vin, all is well. The dealer level brake bleed instructions was on point. Thanks.
Great video. When I did mine I was too pissed that Bosch built such a piece of trash pump. I bought the whole assembly from BMW of Minn for 970 bucks. I replaced my pump and ABS module but swapped my electrical module. I then decided to fix the pump and sure enough the brushes were gummed up. Bosch never accounted for graphite material build up in the holders. Also removing the DC electrical motor once the tabs are dremeled off take some force because the motor magnets hold the the motor rotor to the housing quite well. I cut access slots in the electrical motor can to release inner tabs on the motor outer can to the bottom of the Bosch base. Once loose sure enough both brushes were gummed up but one was not making full contact on the slip ring thus the rpms for the motor could not be achieved causing the code. It was not that difficult to remove the motor can to access the motor internals and I did not break the internal tabs that hold the motor to the base (this is where the magnets hold the base to the motor housing well). Once reassembled I peened the aluminum housing to the motor base close to what the original connection was and used high strength epoxy to provide a 2nd level of security. At the time no one would reveal that other Bosch BMW ABS units would work and I didn't wish to take a change since the car would be down if I was wrong. If I had to do this over again I would either buy a used unit for cheap or just pull the motor and repair it. Excellent video and should help many BMW drivers to fix what Bosch screwed up. My confidence in Bosch is waning after rebuilding my alternator and finding Chinese bearings inside. Again a great contribution to helping DIY. FYI the dealerships are charging some poor owners up to 3K for this repair...
You not kidding. The dealer wanted $3K to put a new one in and told me you had to buy the module and pump together. My question is are the new pumps fixed or is the problem still there and eventually I'll get the same problem of gummed up brushes ?????? So far I've been driving with the problem and haven't fixed it.
Great video, well explained. Sent my unit to be refurbished for £240 including VAT and has solved the issue. Taken off myself, refitted myself using this video and all went very well. Unit can be a tad tricky to take out and place back in due to the small enclosure. Did not need to recalibrate the unit, however power-bleeding the unit following installation seemed to drain battery significantly and as a result it brought about 5/6 new and insignificant error codes, plus the car on a lift image on the dash. ran the car a couple days and all seemed to be back to normal. Quick delete using DIV57 and all good. My recommendation would be to reduce the level of fluid within reservoir to below the level of the abs unit, then when disconnecting the rigid pipe lines minimal fluid should leak out. I learned the hard way! Thanks again, great video.

Hey mate, I have the exact pump like you had, but the new one I ordered is a bit different cause it doesn't have those 4 screws on the sides instead there is 2 on the back, otherwise everything looks the same. So do you maybe know what can be the difference on the pumps? Thanks
Aveman1 thanks for posting, it helps alot! One question: -Are all E9X ABS pumps/motors the same across all the E9X models (non-Xi)? The part numbers that I can find online are of the entire assembly including the control unit, so not sure how I can check for part number of just the hydraulic pump and motor. Please clarify, I have a 2007 E92 335i. Thanks
+Aveman1 I just did the replacement over the weekend and everything went smooth. Thanks again for taking the time for making the video, otherwise I may not have tackled this on my own.
Are the numbers on the hydraulic unit different from original? My ECU is fine but hydraulic unit needs replacing, ones I'm looking at are same model of car but newer, and slightly different numbers stamped on it, am I right in thinking there is no brain or any kind of ecu on the hydraulic unit, just all in the removable black part. Thanks.
Hey i have 08 135i and im having the same abs code u have, right now i found 09 135i abs module complete unit with the motor and module just wondering is that gonna fit in my car?or do i have to get 08 complete abs module with the pump?
Ok now I'm worried - I did the DSC bleed but it didn't do almost any of that for me... Told me to press and hold brake pedal for 3 seconds, release, module done! No multiple hold and releases, I Hope this doesn't mean my DSC unit has failed It didn't say anything about that
I had the same problem and I changed the brake module I still have the abs lights on can I use inpa software and if yes can you make a video showing how to do it because I have a German version it’s hard to figure it out
Great video. Quick question, is the one way valve required on the drain tube connected to the caliper bleeder or can I just hook up a tube and put it in a bottle with some brake fluid at the bottom?
Great video! I don't have active steering wheel, I'd like to know which is the calibration procedure in INPA please, I'm very swamped on this...thank you in advance.
Hi! Great Video! Please, can you tell me if it´s necessary bleed/drain the oil before remove the pump or just after the service? I´m very afraid to maker a mess with the brake oil. Thank you so much!
Hi i know its an old video but i have trouble with the brake fluid when i loosen the brake line, if you dont put the white cover thing it will be messy or the brake fluid stay in the line?
thank you for you videos, i have one question : i changed the ABS bloc without exchanging the module , and ring / sensor are fine , but it keeps showing the dtc/abs problem !! any advice ?
Hey there thanks for making this video. There are a few dozen part numbers for the ABS pump and they all look different. Are you sure I can swap out the pump with any one from an e90? Can you give me the part number you used?
Dct swapped n54 135i Everything was coded successfully by nico135! A buddy of mine and I swapped a cas and key to flash XHP on the car successfully and placed my original cas and key back but left the dsc/abs triple lights. Using INPA to recalibrate the Dsc but don’t know which tests I need to complete to get rid of the abs/dsc lights. Can I perform the break bleed without actually bleeding the system or will that hurt the abs. Any idea ?
very good video, going to try it in a weeks time, can i just ask you a couple of questions, one do you top up the brake fluid each time you drain a side, if yes do you use the same fluid that came out of your car and secondly where do you get the software from? thanks
Great Video! Is it possible to bleed the system without using the software? Like with the one man brake bleed tool that charges the whole brake system using your tyre? Thanks in advance. Tom
Vehicular DIY Thanks for the reply, I ended up hitting the pump with the handle of a screwdriver and resetting the codes in the end, It's been good for 1000 miles so far
Great video, I'm also doing on this job,but one thing I wan to ask, at DSC calibration on seperator valve it was failed, did you get failed before?and how do you pass this step?
Hi, thanx for this great DIY video, I have the same problem on my BMW e92 but now I that I've seen your video I will repair it soon. Just one question, is it necessary to bleed the brakes with INPA? Or can I also do it manually without computer? Just swap the pump, manually bleed my brakes, erase the fault codes and that should be good?
Great job bro. Just wondered if NEEDS to be exact model number for the whole unit when buying or if any e90 pump will do when ordering? Mines a 2005 E90 320i European. Thanks for the vids. Helped a lot!
I ended up having the same problem in my 335i. Could you give me the part number of the pump you bought. I can't seem to find the MK70 on the interwebs.
@@VehicularDIY hi i got the same lights on dash and i have 325i in UK. You think if i buy from ebay its plug and play and also what to look for when buying pump. Thanks in advance.
Hello, thanks a lot for the great video. I have a 2010 325 that is having the same problem. I do not really see the DSC pump though, it seems to be much easier to find in the 335i. Do you happen to know where it is located in the 325? Thanks.
Vehicular DIY Yes it is indeed! I still have to check the sensors on mine and I don't know exactly if it's the module itself or the whole thing. Do you recommend just changing the module? Thanks a lot
@Vehicular DIY Questions: 1. Does my car not brake when i do not the bleed procedure? Is it dangerous to drive with that to the next workshop 15 miles away? I dont know how to do the bleed procedure with that kit. 2. How do i recalibrate my DSC module via INPA? Is this the step to eliminate those yellow lights? 3. Does a 4 cylinder abs pump of an E90/E87 work on my E90 325d 6 cylinder? (Looks the same) no active steering 4. I have to change my front and rear brakes completly as well as the brake liquid. So when the workshop is changing the brakes on my car they have to do a bleed procedure too right? So is the bleed procedure via INPA necessary? 5. sorry 4 my bad english thank you!
I had to do this today, got a used one from a local scrap yeard (code was: 5df0, fdf1) changed the module and did everything and on the one i got i still had the codes: 5df0, fdf1 and got 1 more after replacing that was 5dd0 (separator valves) that failed to go trough. guess i buy'd a one who was worse? :(
hey good video i have a 2008 bmw 328i and i was wondering if i can use a abs pump off of a 2009 bmw ? and i wanted to know if its obligatory to bleed the brakes thank you waiting for a response
If I bleed my brakes old fasion way with 2 people, surely it will be fine? As I don't have Inba and I need to do this as I have the ABS/DSC/Brake error
Hi Paul, you need to bleed the air out of the pump. If you want to do it the old fashioned way you could manually bleed it then take it out on the road and hammer on the brakes to get the ABS to engage then go back and bleed out the air. This should move the air from the module into the lines and out when you bleed it the old fashioned way. But ideally you should setup inpa.
Aveman1 I'll look into getting Inba! It'll be more efficient and no doubt come in handy in the future. Thanks for the reply, keep the vids coming! I've almost convinced myself to keep my 335i since watching your vids
Aveman1, I was interested in doing this exact repair as I suspect the same discrepancy. Would you be able to say if I can any e90 DSC pump with another pump of e90, e92, 93 excluding AWD? Both exact same part number have to match or can we use different P/N? Is there an interchangeable part number list?
+Alex Arteaga As far as I can tell yes, as long as it's not AWD. All E90/E92/E93s non AWD models use an ATE MK70 pump. I went for the cheapest one I could find which was from an 06 325i and it worked perfectly. They are always the cheapest so might as well go for that.
I'd like to start by saying....great video! I've a 325 CI (e93) with same fault codes as yours. Can you confirm that all I need to do is: 1. Order new ABS pump (off eBay so comes with module) 2. Remove old pump 3. Replace module of new pump with old module from my vehicle and fit pump back to car. 4. Clear codes Im no expert mechanic, just do a little buying/selling/fixing here and there. So I have Delphi system and WOW (haynes manual online) only! Do I need to bleed my brakes? And can this be done manually or do I have to use INPA?? Thanks!
+Shahbaz Manzoor Yes you will need to bleed the lines and you can not do it manually as you'll need to get the air out of the new ABS pump. You should be fine with just moving the module over, there should be no need to recalibrate your DCS.
Hey man great video! I never knew the BMWs could auto power bleed the brakes. I need to do it on mine now, what setup do you have and do I have to buy IMPA anywhere? I want it to work exactly like yours did. Thanks again!
+Aveman1 awesome man, and by "aggressive" I guess that's a good thing? And I have a 1-series coupe without active steering, so INPA should be fine according to your video then right? Did you buy any special cable or pay for INPA? I don't want to buy a crappy cable with low data rate... Thank you so much for this info and video!
+Charles “Chuck” Alford Yeah when I say aggressive I mean in a good way. Yes INPA should work well for you. I added a link in the description to Amazon where you can buy the cable. Good Luck!
Hi, thanks for the video. Is it always necessary to calibrate the DSC unit if I'm just using INPA/DSC pump to bleed the brakes? Is it safe to always use INPA instead of a Motive bleeder pump to bleed (dealership-level bleeding) or would that damage my DSC unit and need calibration? I'm just looking to do my own brake fluid flush/bleeds, not swapping out any modules. Thanks!
No you should't need to calibrate the DSC just because you used the bleed procedure in INPA. It's safe to use INPA yeah, the pump can take it and no calibration isn't needed just be doing a rework. Just make sure you don't let the reservoir go dry and you'll be in good shape.
So, I downloaded and have had the bimmergeeks tools for over a year now and I have done a bunch of coding. Recently, my brakes have turned to crap. Totally unreliable and I don't trust them so I want to do this bleed. Long story short, 90% of my inpa is in english except for the dsc page. All in German. Is there a different version I can download (thats easy to find) so I can do this without it being sketchy and not try to half ass it with google translate? Thanks for the informative videos and thanks for your time and help. Mike...
I bought a used pump, replaced ABS block and install it. Pump error disappeared but calibration process returns error. Now i decide to return old one and replace an electric motor (black box at the bottom). This avoids me the calibration prossess
Okay FYI active steering is very rare and the calibration process can only be conducted using DIS GT1 but I do show that in my video. Is the active steering symbol lit up on your dash and does your steering feel a little heavy?
My pump just failed on my e90, can I buy a used one and reprogram it to work in my car? My mechanic said I might need a new one which costs roughly 2500, is this true?
A new one would be pricey, why don't you try following the video and getting a used pump and moving the control module over? If you're getting your mechanic to do it show them this video.
+Aveman1 I do have one question still. I took my car to an indy shop afterwards to have the brake fluid flushed. They used the pressure bleed technique. I told them that I had replaced the dsc pump, so they bled the dsc pump in addition to bleeding all 4 four brakes. Does that make sense? I did not actually see how they did this but I think they open the brake lines at the pump to bleed it....
+s2syed Well as long as you have a firm brake pedal you should be fine. Chances are they used their scanner to cycle the ABC pump as did in the video. If they cycled the pump with the scanner and opened at the pump it's kind of a ghetto way to do it but it works.
I have many BMWs. So the one that needs the pump is a 2008 335i with a production date of February of 2008. Then used parts place said I can only use one from a 2008 due to my production date. Is this true? Or can I use one from a 2011, 12 ,13.?

Hey man I have an 08 335i. Rwd mechanics have told me my abs pump is shot that’s why I’m getting a grinding noise when i start my car. I had another mechanic tell me it was the Abs module and that it was going to cost me 3500. That’s BS in this video had you purchased and swapped over the black box what would that have cost you.
Your best bet would be to see if you can get the codes pulled from your current module. The modules don't usually fail (black box) it's typically the pump assembly. If i had to buy the entire thing used with the black control module it would have cost me max $350 as I would have isntalled it and encoded the module to the car using my laptop. No shop should be charging you more than $1500 even if it was all brand new. See if you can get the codes pulled so you can determine if it's the pump or the module.
Hey! i have a 07 E90 325d VFL 6 cylinder. Is there a difference between the abs pump of my car and a 09 E91 325i 6 cylinder? Part no: 6790146 6790147 Part no of mine: 6776066 Can i buy it and swap the ABS Pump like you did? Or not possible? Because retailer tells me that LCI does have another ABS Pump
Vehicular DIY Well, it's better to stick with one from an e90 but it's harder to get for me. They are almost the same and the part number is very similar as well. In my case the problem I have is that my e90 has a 6789303 part number and most of the ones I've seen are form older models than 2010 and they sellers tell me that they won't fit because they are 67xxxx. However, the pump and electric motor should be the same. In the one that you used, was the part number very similar to the one you had originally in your 335? Thanks
Stephen Burns Yes I definitely would. So far almost 2 years later and 25k additional miles and it's still working. The trick is to get a 325i pump as they aren't breaking traction as much as a 335i. Therefore the pump is going to be in better shape
I have to disagree with the theory that breaking traction causes the pump brushes to seize. my 328i has been babied and I'm having this issue at 100k miles. maybe lack of use or just bad craftsmanship.
Stephen Burns whether the failure is due to the brushes wearing down from use or due to lack of lubrication or essentially a design flaw would be hard to call. The going rate for pumps originating from a 335i is higher. It could simply be because there are many more 325i/328is available to dismantle. So I recommend a 325i pump, there would be no logical reason to go for a 335i pump and pay more with the assumption that because its used more often the brushes are less likely to stick imo.
Vehicular DIY I really appreciate your video and your replies. one more question; what is the part number of the pump you purchased from ebay? looking now I am only seeing $200+ and they're claiming they will not fit my 2007 328i. your help is much appriciated.
Hey Aveman. Have you ever seen error code 5E1D? I have it in german and it says that the chassis is invaled. However, after investigating the error code it is an internal error of the ECU which makes me beleive that the ECU is broken. I have already purchased an used dsc module from a 328i. Have you ever seen the code 5E1D? Thanks a lot!
Vehicular DIY Hey thanks for replying. No, I made a mistake and I have already ordered. I spent 180 dollars on it. I can still sell it though. I have checked the codes myself and the only code I get with Inpa is that code which I don't understand. I have also tested the pump with inpa and it works. The only issue I noticed is that voltage on ucc (-) is 9.9v and it's not normal. I also have problems loading dis/gt1 as it gives me low voltage error and I cannot diagnose. By looking at the code list 5e1d says it's an ECU internal error which leads me to believe it's the module which is screwed. I appreciate your help. I'm thinking of replacing the module and see if that solves the problem. Do you think it could be related to a voltage problem?
9 years later you are helping me. Thank you for the video.

Aveman1 thanks for posting, it helps alot! One question:
-Are all E9X ABS pumps/motors the same across all the E9X models (non-Xi)? The part numbers that I can find online are of the entire assembly including the control unit, so not sure how I can check for part number of just the hydraulic pump and motor. Please clarify, I have a 2007 E92 335i.
Thanks
OK, to update I just bought a dsc module off ebay also from an 06 325i like yourself :)
+s2syed Yeah that's a safe bet and they seem to be the cheapest anyway.
+Aveman1 I just did the replacement over the weekend and everything went smooth. Thanks again for taking the time for making the video, otherwise I may not have tackled this on my own.
great video (from France) I will use foxwell nt510 for calibration
Are the numbers on the hydraulic unit different from original? My ECU is fine but hydraulic unit needs replacing, ones I'm looking at are same model of car but newer, and slightly different numbers stamped on it, am I right in thinking there is no brain or any kind of ecu on the hydraulic unit, just all in the removable black part. Thanks.
Do you know where the Brake Pressure sensor is on the module? I had a code for a break Pressure sensor but I don't know where it is on the e90?
So recalibration of the DSC module is mandatory if the car has active steering? Can the recalibration be done on ISTA+ instead of GT1?
Dot4 won't hurt anything but those caps are a great idea!
Great video!
I don't have active steering wheel, I'd like to know which is the calibration procedure in INPA please, I'm very swamped on this...thank you in advance.
What does the INPA DSC pre-bleed function do? Isn’t that required for this job since the pump itself is being replaced?
Hi! Great Video! Please, can you tell me if it´s necessary bleed/drain the oil before remove the pump or just after the service? I´m very afraid to maker a mess with the brake oil. Thank you so much!
Thank you, if you're careful you will not spill very much or any brake fluid when removing the pump. No need to drain it first.
Hi i know its an old video but i have trouble with the brake fluid when i loosen the brake line, if you dont put the white cover thing it will be messy or the brake fluid stay in the line?
E90 is any 3 series from 04-09 (I think) that's a sedan right? So any abs pump from one of those vehicle should fit my 07 328i?
E90 is any 3 series from 06-11 and yes it's a sedan. Yes it should.
Vehicular DIY thanks a lot I got one at the yard
Great job on the video. Can I prime the pump without the software or is the software essential ?
The software is essential to get all the air out.
great video how did you learn how to install and operate all the impa and the other bmw software
Check the link in the description.
thank you for you videos, i have one question : i changed the ABS bloc without exchanging the module ,
and ring / sensor are fine , but it keeps showing the dtc/abs problem
!! any advice ?
Have you scanned the car to see what codes are now showing?
Hey there thanks for making this video. There are a few dozen part numbers for the ABS pump and they all look different. Are you sure I can swap out the pump with any one from an e90? Can you give me the part number you used?
I assume you can do this abs calibration with ista+ intaead of using GT1
Tom
Snaggy Matelot Unfortunately no as you need to push air out of the module and it can only be done via cycling the pump.
Vehicular DIY Thanks for the reply, I ended up hitting the pump with the handle of a screwdriver and resetting the codes in the end, It's been good for 1000 miles so far
Aveman1, great thorough video. Where can I get the INPA software from?
Great video. I have the same problem. Where you buy new abd/dsc controller(with pump) ? Thanks
+ddamianRC Got a used one off Ebay.
Great video, I'm also doing on this job,but one thing I wan to ask, at DSC calibration on seperator valve it was failed, did you get failed before?and how do you pass this step?
How did you figured it out
Question, before you start, do you have to unplug the battery first, yes / no thank you
Would I be able to use the abs pump from an e90 6 cylinder for my z4 coupe 3.0L 6 cylinder.
Excellent tutorial BTW 👍👍👍
Hmm I couldn't say for sure, externally does it look the same?
Hi, thanx for this great DIY video, I have the same problem on my BMW e92 but now I that I've seen your video I will repair it soon.
Just one question, is it necessary to bleed the brakes with INPA? Or can I also do it manually without computer? Just swap the pump, manually bleed my brakes, erase the fault codes and that should be good?
Np, you would definitely need INPA for this job. You beed to actuate the pump to get all the air out.
Great job bro. Just wondered if NEEDS to be exact model number for the whole unit when buying or if any e90 pump will do when ordering? Mines a 2005 E90 320i European.
Thanks for the vids. Helped a lot!
Well did it need to be the same exact ?
I ended up having the same problem in my 335i. Could you give me the part number of the pump you bought. I can't seem to find the MK70 on the interwebs.
I don't have a part number but I looked for a pump off a E90 325i.
Thanks.
It should be in the same spot, you might have a cover on top of it.
Vehicular DIY Yes it is indeed! I still have to check the sensors on mine and I don't know exactly if it's the module itself or the whole thing. Do you recommend just changing the module? Thanks a lot
Where can I get that DIS emulator downloaded?
Help having same problem when pump replacing can I just bleed brakes with out software ???
No you need to bleed with software.
@Vehicular DIY
Questions:
(Looks the same) no active steering
4. I have to change my front and rear brakes completly as well as the brake liquid. So when the workshop is changing the brakes on my car they have to do a bleed procedure too right? So is the bleed procedure via INPA necessary?
5. sorry 4 my bad english thank you!
Hi i have a e90 with pump 3451-6776068-01
Can i use any 325330 ect one?
they look the same externally?
I had to do this today, got a used one from a local scrap yeard (code was: 5df0, fdf1) changed the module and did everything and on the one i got i still had the codes: 5df0, fdf1 and got 1 more after replacing that was 5dd0 (separator valves) that failed to go trough. guess i buy'd a one who was worse? :(
Is there a need to drain the brake fluid reservoir prior to removing the ABS unit?
hey good video i have a 2008 bmw 328i and i was wondering if i can use a abs pump off of a 2009 bmw ? and i wanted to know if its obligatory to bleed the brakes thank you waiting for a response
A pump off a 2009 should work and yes it's a must to bleed after.
I've almost convinced myself to keep my 335i since watching your vids
dealer level bleed they just top your master up ha nice job sir would you have to do all this to change brake hose on my bentley gt 08
Can you confirm that all I need to do is:
1. Order new ABS pump (off eBay so comes with module)
2. Remove old pump
3. Replace module of new pump with old module from my vehicle and fit pump back to car.
4. Clear codes
Im no expert mechanic, just do a little buying/selling/fixing here and there.
Yeah the bleed procedure through INPA is very aggressive, check the link in the description on how to setup INPA on your own laptop.
Good Luck!
+Aveman1 thank you so much man! Bimmer on!
Awesome video, i saved a bunch of money. big up!!!
Hi, I have this error " Drucksensor 1 electrisch defekt.", I've changed the pump but I still got the error
Great video brother! On the quest for that software now !!
Mike...
Nevermind... I downloaded "Mikes easy BMW tools" and got a different inpa in english. Going to do a mega bleed right now. Stoked.
As i understand pomp's motor is the same for all E90 DSC moduls. Is it true? Mine is also active steering
Pretty much as long as it's not AWD.
I did all that step by step but the abs lights still on . I wonder if I have to recalibrate the module ?
dwaynenum23 Do you have active steering?
Aveman1 no.
Do I have to bleed the brakes tru inpa? Cause I did mine manually .
Hi, im in the same place and i do have active steering, what do you suggest?
Does it have to be done with INPA or can I use a OBD2 scanner to get the codes?
Hi man, how do i know if its the pump or the module is bad? Can i know it with the inpa?
My pump just failed on my e90, can I buy a used one and reprogram it to work in my car? My mechanic said I might need a new one which costs roughly 2500, is this true?
A new one would be pricey, why don't you try following the video and getting a used pump and moving the control module over? If you're getting your mechanic to do it show them this video.
Did you reduce the pressure in the brake lines before you started to remove the ABS pump etc?
+Peter Hallam I did not, with the car off they will not be under any pressure.
+Aveman1 thanks mate. Saved myself a fortune following this guide. I managed to use rheingold instead and it worked fine
Does it matter if the abs pump is from an automatic oder manual car?
Hi. What do you mean 'opened at the pump' please?
hi, do you know where can i get INPA for mac? thx
i have 2007 BMW 335i RWD. Can i install a pump from a newer modle?
Yes you should be able to. What year are you looking at getting it off?
Vehicular DIY I just realized I have 2008. I have so many BMWS I forgot which one I had. I'm thinking a 2011
I have many BMWs. So the one that needs the pump is a 2008 335i with a production date of February of 2008. Then used parts place said I can only use one from a 2008 due to my production date. Is this true? Or can I use one from a 2011, 12 ,13.?

As long as it's a RWD E90/E92 and you plan on moving your control module over as I show in the video you can use any year.
How do you determine if the problem is with the ABS pump or ABS control module?
The ABS codes that you pull up with INPA would tell you.
What cap size for the hard line?
Great video, thanks for posting.
Hey!
i have a 07 E90 325d VFL 6 cylinder.
Is there a difference between the abs pump of my car and a 09 E91 325i 6 cylinder?
Part no: 6790146 6790147
Part no of mine: 6776066
Can i buy it and swap the ABS Pump like you did? Or not possible? Because retailer tells me that LCI does have another ABS Pump
Excellent, thanks for this excellent video, changed my unit following this on my 330d
Will pump from a 4 cylinder e90 diesel work on a 6 cylinder petrol ?
I'm not 100% sure, it might be a better idea to stick with a pump of a 6 cylinder car.
where did you get your one man bleeder kit? thanks
Princess Auto in Canada...They sell them at Harbor Freight.
Nice m3 in the background
Will one off of a 2011 bmw 328i work on my 2008 bmw 328i ??
Yes it should.
Does one from a 1 series 2010/1 work on the e90? Thanks again
It looks the same but I'd stick to one from an E90 if you can find it for the same price.
Thanks
Any symptoms of the bad ABS pump other than the codes?
Blond Super You'll have no ABS or traction control of any kind.
My hydraulics engage at 70 mph...
what do you do when that used pump fails? just buy another from eBay?
Vehicular DIY
I really appreciate your video and your replies. one more question; what is the part number of the pump you purchased from ebay? looking now I am only seeing $200+ and they're claiming they will not fit my 2007 328i. your help is much appriciated.
That code does seem to correlate to a bad control module. Before ordering the 328i pump did you have it scanned?
Do you think it could be related to a voltage problem?
those codes are pump motor fault?
Yeah for the pump motor specifically not the control module.
That looks like the same pump as I have on my Mitsubishi Evo.
man i need help plz
Ahahaha i laugh pretty hard on your ,,,next level dealer bleeding,,,, .. tnks for really deatil video . gonna help me on my m5 ,
Great DIY video. Thank you for sharing!
do i must need bleed the brake fluid? do i need reprogram the pump ?
You need to bleed the fluid. You won't necessarily need to reprogram the pump.
