    It is sad to see that there is so much negativity in these comments. This woman is only trying to help us out. 🤷‍♀️

    I add mine to a bowl put water, white vinegar, then baking soda. Love the fuzzy action it makes! I let it sit for a few minutes then give a good rinse and sit to dry 😊

      Do you use tap water or filtered water? Because leaving produce in tap water that is full of chemicals including fluoride isn't healthy

      You gotta melt the wax off or skin the apply before eating it, don’t worry about not eating the fiber you can make up for it by adding something high in fiber into your diet making you even healthier in the process

    I’ve been using the vinegar wash for years. My sink 1/2 full hold’s
    2 gallons of water and I add 1/2 a cup of vinegar.
    Then soft skin fruit goes on the bottom, (apples, pears) followed by fuzzy fruit, (peaches, strawberries) and top of with greens. (Cilantro, parsley)
    Let them soak for 15 minutes and rinse with fresh water. Some I air dry others are towel dried.
    Tip: cilantro and parsley come bundled with a rubber band or twisty. Don’t remove them, wash- rinse- shake xcess water remove twisty and then place them in a tall glass with a little water, they usually stay fresh in my fridge for 7-9 days.

    • @CookingwithLilia
      @CookingwithLilia  2 года назад +3

      @EllenBee Hello Ellen!👋
      I shake off the excess water and leave it out on the counter on paper/or cloth towels to dry. Once completely dry, I then store in the fridge.
      Placing dry towels in the fridge bins absorbs extra moisture the veggies might release and helps prolong the storage life of your fruits and veggies.
      Hope this helps and if any other questions come up, Iam a message away!😊

    Would red wine vinegar work as well as white vinegar?

    • @CookingwithLilia
      @CookingwithLilia  2 года назад +1

      @Christopherkilian Hi Chris😊 as for your question about the red wine vinegar. Yes, that can be used to disinfect.
      However, white distilled vinegar is best at disinfecting and removing potential bacteria plus more economical.
      Save the red wine vinegar for a tasty dressing instead. Hope this helps👩🏻‍🍳

    If I soak mangoes in baking soda and salt solution for 10 hr by mistake, is it safe to eat them

    • @CookingwithLilia
      @CookingwithLilia  4 года назад +1

      @paeanpawn yes that is not a problem as salt is a cleanser and disinfectant. The only thing is given the 10 hr time soak your mangos might be a bit shribbled but nonetheless safe to consume

    Sea salt or Kosher salt?

    • @CookingwithLilia
      @CookingwithLilia  2 года назад +1

      @Christopherkilian Either salt works fine and you could even use a table salt for this as well.
      Sea salt and Kosher salt are more important in terms of cooking. But for this solution the vegetables will get rinsed after the soak so a table salt works perfectly fine. Hope this helps.

    How long to soak tomatoes?

  • @JefferyHunt
    @JefferyHunt 2 года назад +1

    1 part water to 4 parts vienegar would be 1 cup of vinegar to 4 cups of water, not 1 tablespoon to 4 cups. You did a 1 part vinegar to 64 parts water solution, which is basically just all water lol.

    • @CookingwithLilia
      @CookingwithLilia  Год назад

      Thank you Jeffery for bringing this up (you are correct on the ratios).
      However, the solution is 1 Tablespoon of Distilled White Vinegar for 4 Cups of Water. Which is enough vinegar to "clean" your produce.
