Something I didn't know, the F15's jammer takes about 15 seconds to warm up from the time you turn it on. Flashing X on RWR means warming up, solid X is Active and Jamming. Protip I guess.
Great video! I've been falling in love with the F-15 even though my Falcon will never stop being my favorite. Would love to see more footage, maybe in HD next time?!
Nice video.. love the professional comms with the wingman... Make's me wanna start again but will be a long time before i get even close to your professionalism.
I'm not an expert but I believe that turning on your ECM makes you visible to the enemy. Both the Eagle and the Flanker have the ability to track and engage aircraft by locking on the their jamming frequencies. ECM can foil a missile lock but isn't necessarily any good for evading detection, that's why they only turned them on when they where vulnerable to counter-attack.
Not quite right. ECM does NOTHING against missiles. At least not the ECM we have here. THIS ECM only makes it impossible to get range data, without it, you don't know when to launch since you are missing the range information, that is until burn through happens.
hey ralfi i have been watching your channel alo and i love it! I wanted to ask how you like trackIR 5? And how does it compare to something like the oculus rift DK2
Whats that kneeboard? is it a mod or something? also do you know anything about tablet kneeboard because id love to have checklists and stuff on my ipad
wazup budy, found you at Star Citizen forum, I have a question, how long until learn to fly? I love flying simulators concepts but never got time to learn, peace out :)
yea just wait for it to go pitbull( self tracking ) then go defensive if you see them bank. it a jet banks that means they shot back. so much shit to learn plus the 15 has fuck all for missile launch detection and tracking like the 27. especialy ER missles. if done right, a 27 can splash you with an ER and all ull get is a radar spike notification.
That's a touchy subject. Especially because everybody tries to hide their ways of doing it like a secret including me. There are general ways of defeating a missile, but it's not an exact science as much as it is art. You can do everything by the book, and still get hit.
Allright, understandable. Right now I just follow the basic of putting the missile into an impossible turn, but it dosen't seem to be enough every time.
+DarkSideSixOfficial F-18 won't be added for yeaaaars :( And you just go to "Multiplayer" and join one. If you wanna make your own (like I do), port forward on DCS's port and press "New Server". It won't work without Porting Forward, remember that!
At 2:48, what did it mean "to keep datalink coverage in the area"? I've heard the term datalink many times not knowing what it means and searched it up online with no answer. Can someone help me?
My very rough understanding is datalink refers to any and all transmission of encypted data which is shared between various air assets to one another to allow all combatants to have an greater understanding of the battle space. As it is an encrypted system which is being constantly upgraded and expanded everything on how it works is pretty much classified. So what we get in DCS is also very limited (same way we don't have functioning iff). It can refer to radar imagery (AWACS or Fighter jets) , GPS systems, infared sensors and a whole host of other equipment to provide early warning, targeting data and create a more accurate depiction of where friendly and enemy forces are in relation to each other. An example of a more advanced version of this system is datalink 16 which can allow ambush tactics, where one Fighter jet target enemy jets with their radar which is then shared to other fighters. They can then fire missiles without ever activating their own radar, the emissions of which could alert enemy aircraft to their presence. Similarly if there was an air asset with an infared sensors system, it could share targeting data to other aircraft without those capabilities. Effectively allowing all aircraft to utilise each other's strengths. In this situation the 'datalink coverage' refers to the constant updates provided by AWACS providing vectoring, range and aircraft info. In this mission the AWACS has the most powerful and sophisticated radar sensors of any aircraft on their team, as such it's critical for providing info for both defending against and attacking enemy fighters. The same goes for the enemies AWACS. By destroying these assets they cripple the enemies understanding of the radar space and make it much harder for the Fighter jets to be efficiently employed against the opposition.
store.steampowered.com/app/249320/ There you go, Flaming cliffs 3 in the DLC Section. The only thing that CDS world has by itself is the Su-25t (At least Eagle Dynamics was nice enough to give legacy A10c owners like myself the DCS world keys so we could use the updated software)
kneeboard mod was broken after last patch along with everything else. ED has a terrible way of doing that to missions and mods. This is how they fix things: i.imgur.com/BftYhcU.gif
ralfidude Ah, ok. I had made this story up in my head that you had modded some pin-up girl picture to the pilot's lap and that was just your way of censoring it. Good to know though.
Every brake-manouver in regard of flight is aerodynamic... Even if you just reduce thrust you brake due to drag. So is a "bodybrake" slowing down due to high slip-angle, or if not, what else?
It's more of the fact that you do not do a body break landing in an A-10 for example. It doesn't help. You are required to put all wheels down on the ground and full air break then wheel breaks at the end of the runway. Other aircraft such as the f-15 and f-16 you gain a lot from performing a body break upon landing. Their air breaks aren't really that big, especially the F-16. Body breaks are now a requirement for 1.2.8 with the AFM, as the airbreak does almost nothing to slow you down in time.
Damn jets, every time I'm using the A10 is coming one from nowhere to destroy me, but they don't want a dogfight with other jets, just the easy bombers...
Learn to fight them up close. There are ways to lure enemy fighters to you. You can turn faster than them up close. If they are smart they will pull up after a failed attack, if not, then it's your kill.
remember that the A10 is very slow, also turns very slow cause is not a Jet, my only tactic is to flight close to a allied SAM and pray, sometimes the SAM hit the enemy jet, works for me once
You are talking to someone who has been in dogfights with enemy jets in the A-10. A-10 has a tighter turn radius. Trust me. If they go into a turn fight with you, you will win as long as you keep your corner turn as best as you should. Then it's aim 9 up their asshole.
I have yet to record these fights, but yes, as long as you do things right, you can come up victorious. Here, it's no MIG but its a uch much faster aircraft than you and still I can turn in MUCH tighter than them: www.twitch.tv/ralfidude/c/2688566
Would love for someone to teach me how to play this game, the tutorials are crap.. I know basics on how to fly, I'm just not familiar with the aircraft. I know how to pilot small prop aircraft in real life, but this is quite a bit different.
Its alot simpler than it looks but make no mistake it takes plenty of time and errors to fly without getting your nose shredded every 5 minutes. Its alot like learning a new instrument. Just relax, take some deep breaths and learn with the manual. Google the FC3 manual. Take it step by step. Everyone wants to go balls out on their first time in the cockpit...doesn't work too well.
Ralfi, I was AWACS maintenance and always wondered how our deaths would look from the outside. Awesome video!
+Damien Mullins Fun times huh
Your kneeboard terrifies me
Kneed an exorcist for that shit
I love how the one way trip is a legitimate strategy in dcs.
It’s a legit strategy irl too
Last shot: DCS needs a 'make pilot wave' command. But perhaps that's just silly :)
Jeroen van der Velden OMG that would be awesome. I never thought of that but now I really want it.
+Jeroen van der Velden A salute, surely
Love the way you guys rock up on the ramp beside that A-10 at the end, just like doo dee doo dee doo, another day at the office :)
Your honestly like my hero because you act like a real pilot. :)
Some outstanding flying and communication between you two. Good stuff!
I manage a datalink on awacs this was pretty cool to watch.
Something I didn't know, the F15's jammer takes about 15 seconds to warm up from the time you turn it on. Flashing X on RWR means warming up, solid X is Active and Jamming. Protip I guess.
Watching you fly this game is about as much fun as driving on the interstate with a road map.
Every single time I take a break from DCS, I accidentally come across one of your videos and get sucked right back in!
Love these vids dude. Think you could add some angles from out side the jet
Not really. Tracks play back errors.
Great video! I've been falling in love with the F-15 even though my Falcon will never stop being my favorite. Would love to see more footage, maybe in HD next time?!
He had just uploaded it, you have to wait a few hours until RUclips videos go HD.
Nice video.. love the professional comms with the wingman... Make's me wanna start again but will be a long time before i get even close to your professionalism.
You guys make it look so easy! Never get tired of your videos, ralfi. Thanks =)
Congrats Ralfi, keep doing the imposible!
Its amazing to see how far DCS has come since this video was made
Will we see a bit more F-15C footage with the beta 1.2.8 AFM being available now?
I see why you went to senaki first. I flew east and flanked the A50 that way about 5 mins ago. I ran out of fuel as I was running away from the BB lol
Hey Ralfi, When do you normally fly? Because I fly there a lot and I have never seen you there. Thanks.
that was a pretty exciting video. thanks guys!
Do you guys normally fly on the 104th? I just got FC3 and it would nice to fly with someone.
You guys sound hella professional! I mean,I'd almost think guys were eagle drivers for real! Nice flying all around, though.
Sorry old video but I've been enjoying the F15 videos as a FC3 owner (no other modules) - how did you know where to find the AWACS?
Nicely done, very tactical and precise. And the german was funny!
Kameraden, ihr seid eine wunderbare Mission geflogen! ;)
Hey Ralfi, as someone who just got into this game I have a question. Why wouldnt you guys be using the ecm? Does it not do what I think it does?
Yeah that's what I mean when I say I'm no expert, I never graduated beyond Flanker 2.5 and Modern Air Combat. Love your videos though!
Tense video lol. I was waiting for a SAM to pick you out of the air.
awesome stuff ralfi, well done you two!
great work!
you have another subscriber!
Hey ralfi!
I understand the SU-27 and F-15 pretty well. How much would it cost to fly with you for maybe a few hours?
Henry Clagett about one week of constantly being on the 104th Server, you're pretty much guaranteed to spot him at some point.
hey ralfi i have been watching your channel alo and i love it! I wanted to ask how you like trackIR 5? And how does it compare to something like the oculus rift DK2
EpicTaco track ir is excellent. Can't compare to oculus because I don't have one.
oh okay well thanks
There is AWACS on the 104th?
Whats that kneeboard? is it a mod or something? also do you know anything about tablet kneeboard because id love to have checklists and stuff on my ipad
check your controls, its there
4 guys from the FAA dislike this video.
Flying Lakenheath jets? I would worry I do sheet metal on those ;)
Fantastic as always Fellas!
wazup budy, found you at Star Citizen forum, I have a question, how long until learn to fly? I love flying simulators concepts but never got time to learn, peace out :)
What missile was he using when he fired the two missiles at the AWACS? Did he maintain radar lock that whole time?
Spamraams ithink
yea just wait for it to go pitbull( self tracking ) then go defensive if you see them bank. it a jet banks that means they shot back.
so much shit to learn plus the 15 has fuck all for missile launch detection and tracking like the 27. especialy ER missles.
if done right, a 27 can splash you with an ER and all ull get is a radar spike notification.
Tyler Churchwell How do you kill an f-15 with an ER without it knowing, now im curious
I meant as the target alas the RWR doesnt report ER although NATO does have IR variant weapons not in DCS.
Hey Ralfi, Great videos! Been following around here for a few years now. Could you maybe make a video about Missile Avoidance?
That's a touchy subject. Especially because everybody tries to hide their ways of doing it like a secret including me. There are general ways of defeating a missile, but it's not an exact science as much as it is art.
You can do everything by the book, and still get hit.
Allright, understandable. Right now I just follow the basic of putting the missile into an impossible turn, but it dosen't seem to be enough every time.
Good drills Sir.
Very nice flying.
How do servers work in this game? Would like to join one when i get the CF-188 when ever they add the F-18C.
+DarkSideSixOfficial F-18 won't be added for yeaaaars :(
And you just go to "Multiplayer" and join one. If you wanna make your own (like I do), port forward on DCS's port and press "New Server". It won't work without Porting Forward, remember that!
DCS has come a helluva long way, huh.
Just like the opening air engagment in the book Red Storm Rising! (Those weren't F15s though)
Hope to see more of this stuff! :)
That was just beautiful!
Jolly good show chappy
What game is this ?
Dcs World Fc3
It's ace assault, as McBlemmen said, it's on sales on Steam.
It is DCS World with the Flaming Cliffs 3 payware addon, it is NOT Ace Assault. Ace Assault is a game, DCS World is a real simulator.
You guys can stop. He's fucking with you.
Sorry :3
Damn you youtube processing times!
Ralfi is a actual military jet pilot.
no, but thanks
Cool, look forward to a Tornado entering the game on a similar mission
Ralfi , are you trying to speak German xD ?
And by the way , what soundmod are you using ?
Wouldn't say trying, the few phrases he said were fairly well pronounced ;-)
That's right , good sir
Great time for my PSU to fail.

Lvl89wrlk thanks
I'm new to dcs, so what plane is this??
f-15c
Ralfi how many hours have you put in on flight sims ?
too many
We need to fly.
Wondering how to find waypoints in the FC3 F-15C.
Bit much to explain on here but it's mentioned in the manual and I'm sure you can find a tutorial on it on youtube.
Thanks, mate. People on the Internet can be such assholes.
(mig29 video comment section lmao)
I love your German with this amazing us accent, as german its even better :D good job on your vids (Y)
Is this using footage from 1.2.8?
nope it's still 1.2.7
This is wunderbar :)
This is Flight Simulator X right????
nope. flaming cliffs 3
nah, i think its DCS World
FC3 is a DCS World module, so you'd be correct.
DFX2KX oooookie doookie

Wait how did you get your engines to 110% at 10:00 ?
space shuttle
+Denreep The throttle?
+Denreep those engines just go all the way up to eleven
What's up with that map in the pilots lap?
kneeboard mod was broken after last patch along with everything else. ED has a terrible way of doing that to missions and mods.
This is how they fix things:
i.imgur.com/BftYhcU.gif
ralfidude From an engineers perspective: If you can't fix it with WD40 and duct tape, it can't be fixed!
ralfidude Ah, ok. I had made this story up in my head that you had modded some pin-up girl picture to the pilot's lap and that was just your way of censoring it. Good to know though.
at 2:57 Ralfi's flying over a barage. Does anyone know its location ? Could be nice to fly there with the Huey :)
thanks sir !
Lol I played with you on VirtualAerobaticsServer as TaccoZ :D
O .Baer
haha hey ! :D
Was this Colt's first sortie? He sounded like a rookie.
He's no rookie.
ralfidude
Is he more of a vet than you?
No
Am I the only one that has played so much falcon that I always try to do the body-brake landings in the F-15?
Since today that works in DCS as well for the F-15C. AFM ahs been implemented in the Beta and has been released.
body-brake landing = sideslip-approach?
MaverickX2k5
Body-brake landing = aerodynamic braking

thank you very much. i watched the whole videostill , but i wanted to see the shot first. :)
I remember I shot down awacs and then I found myself surrounded by su-27's and I got swarmed with missiles until one hit me and I ejected

relax its "coal miner german". aber, haben recht, war nicht sehr gut.
TheHardcore429 I was wondering because it sounded a bit Bavarian ^^ "Das isch not guut man" could be a typical sentence of my buddy or me ^^
this game is not flight sim x or il2 its called dcs world. go to www.digitalcombatsimulator.com
why is it every time i play multiplayer dcs there no one online except acrobatic servers all the rest are password protected piss's me off
The attack happens at 10:20
Thank me later
I've done this a couple of times harder with the russian planes would like to see that.
