Song is about suicide. "blue light over murder for me" Ambulance lights saving him from killing himself. "I woke up surrounded, eyes like frozen planets, just orbiting the vacuum I am." Woke up in a hospital surrounded by family or doctors. "flood me like atlantic, anything to get me to sleep" fill me up with drugs? imo this is a masterpiece by them.
You’re correct but the song is called Atlantic. Blue light is what you see when you look up through water.
Drugs are unlikely. The closest Vessel gets to mentioning medicine or drugs of any sort is addiction to feelings and alcohol.
I listened to this song so many times before realizing it is likely about a failed suicide attempt. Such powerful lyrics....

The second verse of this song is probably the most clear depiction of vessels trauma. Looking at their lyrics of this song, as well as a few others such as high water and granite, I keep coming back to the thought of a unborn child being lost in a car accident, Most likely involving water.

The first verse is his attempt to commit suicide. The second verse is him waking up in a bed surrounded by family and friends and his fight as a survivor of this attempt on his life. Go to sleep is death. Blue light is what you see when you look up through water. Over being murdered. This song is about loosing to depression but getting a second chance. He did get it in the end so I give it to him on that.
Such a sad and deeply troubling song. Got to love it. The switch up is super tasteful and powerful.

(also the lyrics are endlessly interpretable - in this song/most of their material - in my opinion, I got multiple meanings from it on repeated listens. I feel it's very poetic which is why I also love it so much.)
