I agree, Judy. I watch Storm Front every day. And, I like Fred, but I honestly think they can't hold a candle to Storm Front in the singing category. They are funny, though!
It was recently revealed in the Shop Chat interviews of Storm Front that the idea for Jukebox Saturday Night came from their baritone, Darin Drown. He also did the arrangement of the song. Their bass, Syd Libsack, was the one who suggested the album to use. And you are right, the song is brilliant and unique!
@@reginadinan9486 I remember that VoicePlay did a similar conceit with their Road Trip medley (even did the fart joke bit, but used different songs). I believe that was arranged by their bass Geoff Castellucci, and I have often wondered if their bass was in BHS. saw this and got inspired by that?
I think it’s even more awesome that they switch parts there. Syd singing the High C5 slide and Darin is singing the bass C4 at the end. While Jeff and Jim are on a High E5 and a G4 respectively.
I love the versatility in this quartet. In the second song, the baritone sings the bottom note in the tag while the tenor sings the top note, and in the third song they switch for the tag, and both tags are blended very well
I had them winning completely in 2010. The entertainment of each set was fantastic. I've also never seen or heard a comedy quartet that sings as they do. My favorite was actually "Accustomed to 3rd Place" so funny!!
They are hilarious and really great. They are the best I've heard and seen on RUclips so far. I used to be in a chapter back in the '70's and i loved it but i didn't have the time to keep it up. I just recently in the last week or so started listening to this music again and i am shocked how much it has changed and for the better i might add. The entertainment of this quartet is unbelievable even though i don't get all the jokes. They joke about other quartets and people i have never heard of and so it is much more fun for the people on the inside of barbershop music I'm sure but it still is fun to watch for me. I guess i would have to watch a lot more videos etc to understand what all the inside jokes are about but i love it anyway!!!
@@mickeygijzen5847 Funny. When I first discovered Barbershop, it was in December 2010, shortly after they won. I was ordering one of their DVDs and asked that same question of Storm Front's bass, Syd Libsack. And yes, my introduction to Barbershop was these guys. There may be more appropriate groups for an introduction, but I have to say these guys were the best introduction.
If you've seen a recording of FRED they were funny but not as refined singing wise. I think their presentation pushed them over to #1 when they won. I was there but I'm not sure what really happened. They were funny and entertaining and deserved the win that year. Storm Front's singing is so good. Heads above where FRED was.

I can’t stop the listening to Storm Front! They’re brilliant!
Fred too.. inside jokes, both foursomes, but hey, they’re so funny!!!

Isn't Stormfront a Nazi?
Jukebox Saturday Night - one of the all-time great comedy quartet performances, in my opinion. 😊

Jeff’s “Yeahah” at 13:10 is so satisfying to hear after that absolute WHAMMY of a last chord. Makes me so happy
I had never noticed that before. Thanks for pointing it out! It is indeed great to hear.

I wish the Lunch Break 40 people on stage thing was on RUclips. It's been mentioned in videos for years but I've never seen it. :(
It’s finally been posted!!!
Search up “Lunch Break - Mic Test” by Barbershop Highlights!

WOW....THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME!!! Funny and never lose composure!! The harmonies are just unreal!! Great!!
This is absolutely fantastic! Every second is great entertainment, especially for barbershoppers!
So many inside jokes and obscure musical references. Why am I smiling from ear to ear and tapping my toes??
I want to like this again, every time I see it! So, so good, and such fun!
They are so good. In every way. Their sound is not compromised by their joking one bit.
3:25 pm Thank you for posting this and bringing back wonderful memories!❤
I LOVE STORM FRONT AND OLD SCHOOL!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Have to ad.....every song....standing ovation
That chord at 15:41 is the warmest thing I’ve ever heard.
Trueee! It's G major with add 9 I think
@@daniel9918 goes Db7, then goes down an inversion, then to Gb add 9

Jukebox! What a terrific set! 👍
Thanks for posting this. Great Show.
Anybody catch that Lucky Old Sun tag reference?? AWESOME!!
Im So Glad i accidentally Found These Guys WONDERFUL
492/500 presentation score on the last piece. 98.4 average.
Love the major 2nds in the chords @ 15:43 and elsewhere.
I NEED somebody to transcribe Anything Goes and then I need Tim Waurick to sing the tag of it
It would be nice to hear “Lida Rose” sing her song with the group
Great sound.
25:29 That is such a good joke.
The fart or the one before it....???

Brilliant.
2:44 Can someone explain this to me?
It's a play on the Lead from Gas House Gang Rich Knight.

What are the sheets of paper on the stage??
If I’m not mistaken, it’s from their Lida Rose song: ruclips.net/video/vWCNiIikbFw/видео.html
there great
Can someone explain what Rick says at 21:35??
Wow!...Wouldnt never figured that out! Thanks
They;re so talented and could go pro
Whos that a picture of?
It's a picture of Gas House Gangs (1993 Gold medal winners) lead, Rich Knight.

Very funny
Isn't the term "Storm Front" associated with certain disreputable types? Odd choice.
That's illegal!
They said something somewhat nice about the judges!
Bribery is never illegal, especially when blackmail doesn't work. :P
😣 Frownie on the FRED bashing.
To be fair, Fred was actually funny!
They clearly revere FRED, come on.
Rick LaRosa was their coach; I'm guessing he didn't mind.
But it’s so funny!!! Typical guys!
Sorry, don't know who the picture is
