They need to make this car - so impressive but I’m tired of seeing amazing concepts never be manufactured.
Spot on lad
Yeah, same thing with all big Audi concepts. Like the A9 coupe (prologue) that was also never made. What a shame.
It takes time. Look at the concept cars from the 2000s. They are all a reality now.
IKR!!
You can think of concept cars like this as “what cars might look like without rules and regulations”. Cars have to comply with a plethora of different safety regulations that can drastically alter the design.
Audi's concept designers are absolutely amazing. To me Audi has for the last years been my absolute favorite when it comes to new ideas and design.
Meanwhile at BMW Design HQ: "leTs mAKe tHE kIDnEyS BiGgEr..."
@@StephanWahlen the new ix🤮😂
eaaasily
They have subtly changed their design language over the last couple of years. The e-tron GT is so refreshing.
Luúū
Production was great on this vid - Audi pls release these and w/o changing their visual design from concept to production. So many manufactures lose us when they do that.
The reason they often have to change the look is because of crash regulations. Car has to be a certain shape to be safer in a crash.
Concepts usually don’t pass certain regulations and because of that the designs ends up changing a lot
This is the most unrealistic concept cars you ever will see this year no way they make it in production at this level
ayyy swoozie

Really like this dude! Hope they keep him around. He gives good detail about the cars he's reviewing.
I have seen many white guilt comments on his channel, it's amazing ho many of you are there constantly typing similar words...
@@celpabedn what?
Hello
@@celpabedn nah bruh, he is just not annoying. Many of these large channels have annoying ass people. His commentary was the right amount. He let the car speak for itself without it being to much or too little
He's Rory Reid. He's damn good at his job!
Is it just me or does it look so unreal, that it seems to be computer generated😶
You understand these are jus concepts right 🙄
It's a BEVY of detail...almost surreal😂😂
Whilst its always good to see manufacturers stretch there minds and designs, there's a lot of impractical equipment and a lot of frustrating functions, And ones that will take more time to operate than to do things manually, but they are concepts and I presume only a few of the tech bits will actually reach the every day car. So well done Audi for giving us a small glimpse into the future.
Concepts seldom go into production. But rather, individual pieces of technology within a concept is taken from it and applied to different models based on the company's agenda.
yeah these are more like art projects than anything useful. It must be cathartic for the designers and engineers though to work on things that are pointless and not always be beholden to the consumer or regulators.
@@carbon-structure like I said, they're not pointless. Some Pieces of technology from these spheres will be taken and copied onto newer year models of already existing lines. The current C8 gen got the Q8 got most of its tech from a concept that looked nothing like it.
@@nonamenoname4641 auto expanding wheelbase isn't pointless in your opinion? Nor is a silly steering wheel that takes minutes to even be usable? Or a glass 'grill' that can display pong? Doors that open assuming nothing else is close by? I respectfully disagree 🙂
I thought so too, most of these features am like “why?”
Well done Rory, what a great insight into future personal transport. Unfortunately this is at least another 20 years from now when the combustion engine is completely dead in my humble opinion.
One of the best auto channels on the internet. Thanks for always bringing us top quality, mate! 👊🏾🙂
This literally looks like a car from Cyberpunk 2077. The design choices are INSANE.
Absolutely stunning. Like something from Minority Report. Complete automation and optimum traffic management doesn’t require a seat belt.
I'll keep the seat belt on, thanks.
@@tyty0071 🤣🤣🤣
the Skysphere is mind blowing. Never seen such design, it looks like a Cyberpunk interpretation of the batmobile. I really do hope it will eventually reach production (with or without the moving chassis) just to see these space ships in real life
They look great, but unfortunately none of these are going to make production. There are loads of amazing concepts that manufacturers make to get some buzz, but very rarely, if ever, do they make production without some massive downgrades. Just something to remember for everyone, concepts are easy, but turning that into a profitable and practical mass-produced vehicle is a whole different ball game.
Thanks for the video Rory!
They made the r8, wasn't that far off from the concepts
@@fredriksvard2603 The R8 is basically a prestige model, it does not actually make a lot of money for the company if at all. But the sheer effect a supercar has on the image is worth manufacturing it. As far as im concerned the standard A8 let alone the S8 does not go so well right now. Maybe some of the Ideas and insights of these concept cars might end up in the new A8 who knows.
That's not true. They have confirmed the next A8 will be revealed next year and it will look very similar to the grandshpere concept
Damn ... that transforming Skysphere cockpit is wild! ... Cool video 👍
Audi makes some of the best concept cars I just wish most of the concepts made it to their production cars
I remember watching Demolition Man in the 90’s, and thinking in 2010 cars would look exactly like this….in reality I underestimated the rate of change in autos by about 20-30 years!
Great film, I remember when SLY crashes and the car, it fills with a foam, I thought that's a great idea. Guessing in theory it would suffocate the passenger if it happened in real life.
I'm 32. Sadly I feel like I won't be able to see stuff like this as the norm in my lifetime. We are so fast but we stop ourselves at the same time. I hope I'm wrong, tbh
Holy shit. This is perfect. One of the most exquisite cars I've ever seen. Closely rivals classic Aston Martins. Wow, absolutely incredible. Audi needs to listen to us viewers and make the production model as close to this as costly possible
Great concepts, i just wonder how may mechanically folding and retracting items will still work after 100,000
Just like everything in the consumerism modern world it will become E-Waste. These cars after warranty will be unserviceable, Then again by the time these come out maybe in 10 years dealerships will have robotic service so they can fix issues.
If they make an actual car like that, it's probably gonna be an SUV 😁
To be fair, companies have to react to market trends. In a sense it's our fault for the popularity of SUV's; not that it's a bad thing either way
@@Alby911 well, it's certainly not my fault - and it is a bad thing when vehicles keep getting bigger, heavier, more expensive, and harder to see out of
@@joeb4294 Smaller cars still do exist. Agree on the rising cost though - yikes
Awesome Audi concept cars, Audi has a bright future in EV. I like the moveable steering wheel and dashboard. I like the curve dashboard screen. I like the suicide doors and the minimalist seats. I like the sedan and sports car.
I really like the interior design of the skysphere interior (except for the analog clock). It is so clean and scifi spaceship looking. Not a fan of the gesture controlls though because they would probably be pretty hit and miss or trigger when you did not intend to and even in full autonomy mode I would still like to be able to take over seemlessly rather than having to wait for the steering wheel and pedals to emerge.
Guess you can decide not to retract the steering wheel at all and also use the knobs and buttons normally. Also supposedly the clock and some other design elements seem to be an homage to a 1930 Horch.
I am glad that I am 36 now, and I won't be here when all these will happen. Remember that while we are so amazed about this concept, a bunch of kids on this planet, have no shoes, eat whatever they can, and will never be able to live a normal life because of the traumas.
Almost all of Audi's concept never translate into production cars with exception of the original TT.
Ever heard of the Etron?
The etron gt is pretty similar to the concept, I think for electric cars its easier to stay close to the concept
The lemans concept is basically the gen 1 R8. And the sport back concept became the a7.
They had a beautiful concept for a new quattro. Never happened. It was beautiful
I have to say I personally am not looking forward to these future vehicles, they're just too autonomous, too gimmicky, and more so they're electric. As a petrol head the future is a nightmare for me😭.
Anywho, one of the features Rory is highlighting here being the gesture open/close door function Mercedes already has in their current production S class, which begs the question - what and/or how much more can engineers and technicians cram into these vehicles?!
Yes, it's too gimmicky
This concept is trying to create a whole new category of luxury...
I dont think it will catch on
If EV's came before ICE's you'd be of the opposite sentiments. It's all in the mind.
I like the design direction Audi is going. Very nice and futuristic.
Very I ROBOT
@@matthewspry4217 Unfortunately, this is a dead end. Since VAG overdosed on touch shit and tablets, their sales profile changed. Even BMW managed to realize it's harmful to their business. Japanese and Korean manufacturers never fully followed that craze. These days, they have the upper hand when it comes to parts availability. In the long run, usability always beats short-lived trends. It's visible, especially now, when cars' availability is lower, while prices - higher.
So glad I found your channel, absolutely love everything about this video, great work👍
Only problem is that if you're getting chased by some thugs and you hop into your car, you gotta wait long for the steering wheel to come out lol
Nice job Audi Designers! Nice to see some cool vehicle concepts that can actually be produced and utilized. I prefer my steering wheel permanently placed! Need the Avant and SUV versions!
I think these are some amazing cars and beautifully designed but I feel there are a lot of tech not may look good but is unnecessary and expensive that the consumer will end up paying for and either never use or become frustrating
Man!! This is absolutely insane! Love those designs … exterior and interior! Audi again awesome job! I’ve been big fan since 2000’s . Keep creating and making it! Audi! You inspire all car manufacturers around the world. Audi is always ahead of everyone and it’s all good! It’s just some naysayers and critics can’t simply swallow the truth.😅 Especially Ford, Kia, Hyundai fans! 😅 ( don’t bother with your nonsense offending replies with bla,bla to my comment … I won’t reply anyway 😎) …..Audi please make RS5 coupe with this exterior design update! That would’ve be so game changer! Audi is truly best in exterior and interior designs and technology! 👊🏼😎
Great reviews. Really interesting. Very well presented.
WOW, Audi has always done design for cars, like Apple do design for consumable tech. We’re seeing the x-over from cars being cars to cars being experience and entertainment spaces. We’re seeing the future right here
Never thought I'd fall in love with all three cars all at the same time.
Wow. The screen was put very cleverly into the back of the seat in front of it. Amazing.
Those are some proper concept cars, amazing job by Audi. The retractable steering wheel looks stunning and the whole thing really looks like it came from the future.
In reality though it would annoy the f&&k out of you waiting to use the steering wheel.
Amazing concept by Audi, but the real question is when will our roads and infrastructure become 21st century to allow these motors to function well without failure.
How long is a piece of string?
Every car company is like.. this is what we could make... but we just going to do 5% towards this for 20 years. Well done video on every front.
If travelling by coach could be like this, it would be a real game changer.
I love Audis tremendously , they really need to implement this design concept into their newer models.
that overcast is a paid actor, made it look so cinematic
It's better to have a steering wheel already ready in front of you, than to have gestures and then it comes out in 2 minutes time
Exterior: I'm impressed. Pure awesomeness
Interior: Looks uncomfortable and impractical. Projections on wood aren't the future, integrated screens and good software are (like what we saw from Apple at WWDC 2022) Also, the seats look unergonomic and I doubt that hand gestures will ever get intuitive. Better to focus on the stunning exterior :)
it's almost like it's a concept
My d2 a8 has maybe 80% of the little servo motors that adjust things like seat and steering wheel position still work, (great for an almost 25yr old frauline) in my case the car is still comfortable and functional. the steering wheel still moves in and out but no longer up or down, the seat adjustment works except for the drivers side headrest and the passenger seatbelt height adjustment. This dosent effect the functionality of the car, i wonder however what will happen with this new fangled thing if the little motor for deploying the steering wheel or opening the doors fails. are you essentially left with a brick? are there going to be manual overrides? like flip a switch and manually pull the steering wheel out? with the reliability of global supply chains and audi dealerships this stuff just dosent seem like a viable form of transportation yet. not to say it isn't a cool toy to show off on the floors of a trade show!
I don't know if I'm more impressed by the car or the video editing and recording skills.
I have never seen someone describing a vehicle so cool and flowing. great video great tour. This guy should get a buck.
Impressive. Audi has come a long way since my 2013 Allroad :) Nice presentation Rory!
All look sick. Audi's are definitely one of best looking cars for me. Simply classy
I dont know why, but thsse new Space Age interiors remind me of an 80s Doctor Surgery.
Sky Sphere is my favorite concept, the long front is absolutely gorgeous
Very impressive, but maybe you can start by adding heated steering wheel and cooled seats option to audi a3 like you do in golf and leon ?
Design element and gestures got me.
The steering retraction thats what I love the most
Super interesting video. This will probably get millions of views. It won't get old for many years.
Can you also make a video on Mercedes and other manufacturers concept cars? Just not McLaren. They're all the same.
Very nice only complaint is how slow and loud everything is when moving
The SUV is insane would love to see these come to life
Cadillac already said hold my beer with the introduction of the Celestiq. Nothing else compares to it now. The combination of Uber luxury and futuristic EV design is second to none. But this is cool though
The last one should be called the ‘Karensphere’
It's the Urbansphere and it's absolutely massive. Makes a lot of sense.
Imagine waiting for your steering wheel and the center console to unfold during a sketchy situation lol
Some of the features in the Grand Sphere reminds me of the autonomous Audi RSQ sports coupe in the 2004 “I, Robot” movie.
This is why I’m going so hard in my business. To one day be able to have something cool like this one day
Cool, very cool. I'm sure I'll never get any closer to one of these than these videos.
I feel like the components that current/older cars had like the grill/wheel spokes that are starting to be reimagined may soon be completely redesigned. They're making small adjustments now but since the car is electric there can really be anything on the front in any design. I bet they'll start doing some crazy things with that or just make it plain like tesla
since they put a water dispenser, they should add a urinary too.
Startrec level tech thank you so much lovely presentation ❤
Reallity: "Lets make Jetta-like cars for more 20 years".
Ok, I have to give RS7 a thumbs up for it´s design, love it.
When there’s a crackhead banging at the window, those steering wheels won’t move fast enough.
You know.. I always felt no matter what until we have flying cars, no matter how advanced, it STILL has to rely on 4 wheels, rubberized. Food for thought..
Wish they would actually make these things, rather than just tease a car nobody will ever be able to buy
This is like that Citroen concept from decade ago. One was put on the streets of Paris, you can see it on YT
Maybe the next James Bond will have a scene where Bond is locked in an audi heading towards a cliff on autopilot and he has to get the steering wheel out in time by gesturing.
The roadster gives me Blade Runner vibes. Especially the seats
I love this guy's locations where he shoots , he really concerned about backgrounds , i love ur work bro....keep on doinnn frm India 🙏🏿
Imagine driving one of these to costco to pick up your groceries and someone dings the paint with a shopping cart 😭
Incredible concepts and a fantastic tour production. 👏
Oh man, these are absolutely gorgeous. Especially love the 2nd car you showed.
they need to make that transparent center capsule
Amazed by the interior design omg ✨
3:50 hope no one's not chasing me.
Here's an idea. For all the cameras these new cars have for autonomous driving, why aren't the cameras used as 360 dash cams for insurance purposes? Seems like a no-brainer
I have been seeing the advertisements on television and my god the Audi concepts are beautiful and i hope these concepts and signatures willl make it into market i would love to purchase the urban SUV perfect for London traffic.
Lucky, that the EV Charger Infrastructure is soooo good 😂
If companies actually had the balls to make a concept car into a production car, they would make much more money... It's not like they can't do it
swamp doors, are viable if you use a b pillar .. the b pillar can go with the opening door .. a T middle will avail too ... i will drive all the conceptsz
Love the cars, loving the shirt too Rory very suave my friend. Audi you have absolutely smashed it with these designs.
I don’t like MPVs. But that Urban concept looks nice 😍
The actual car needs to look exactly like the concept.
They don't look real at first glance. Absolutely beautiful
Great great review as always sir.
Astounding cars...breathtaking. this is how you design a car. Im a bmw fanboy, but bmw has nothing on audi in this department. Audi and merc are just a marvel to look at.
This man might have one of the best jobs on earth.
I suggest marketing it as a moving spa.
I agree, the Grandsphere is Beautiful. The front reminds me of Jet Jaguar, but modern, if he were designed today. LOL
the aerodynamics are insanely good!
They look nice if you're into that type of thing. But low refresh rate LCD screens in 2022? Simply inexcusable.
Where did you shoot this video tell me the location and what is your name?
Your presentation is as amazing as the vehicle’s you describe.
Great job!
Nothing like having champagne while you’re driving.
Am surprised you not talk about how far they come of design thinking etc compared to the car used in film I-Robot as it’s first thing was thinking .
I would think the coupe would have a better chance. I could be wrong, but I think people looking for a coupe are more likely to be looking for an exotic design, I just dont think sedan buyers really want something that weird and wonkey... I think of the luxury sedan buyers as more of a traditional car buyer
Audi might be going for the transformers decepticon looks...
First time seeing your video on youtube. Love it! You are so engageing and relaxing to watch. Keep it up!
