I never thought a twenty nothing year old girl would inspire me. But you do and I salute you for the way you live and work on your home. You are very special Hanna. :-)
For the wood pile: You may want to move it to the shed on the side of the cabin. You want to keep your wood out of the snow and rain, to ensure it stays as dry as possible. If you leave it where it is, I'd put a tarp on the outer sides to protect it, but don't fully cover the pile. You want air flow, and wind is good for it, and fully covering it will trap moisture in and cause mold. Also for stoves! If you get a new one, you should look into Aga stoves. Theyre a bit pricey, but they can be left running all by themselves 24/7 because they self regulate their heat and fire, so it'd solve your overnight heat problem!
Yes, my suggestion, too, would be to exchange that stove for something more efficient. That thing seems a hell of a wood eater: Might even keep the cabin warm if you feed it real plenty. So those 2 cords will be gone very fast once it's getting cold!
I am no winter person, being from the South and only living in the South, BUT I would think you would have to keep that inside another area or keep it under some kind of porch-like place to keep it dry. Also, I would worry about smaller animals crawling underneath to keep warm. I live on a piece of property that had stacks of wood in the back of it when I moved in. I got rid of it immediately because I thought snakes or mice might nest in it.
I live in Norway. We have winter pretty much from oktober until april. (at least where I live) We store our wood in the barn/shed whatever its called. Its important to protect it from the elements. But thats under the requriement that its dry when you put it in there. We usually store it outside during the summer with something covering the TOP of it, to keep it resonably dry when it rains, and then we mobe it inside the barn/shed/whatever when its dry. So yeah... Keep it protected. Makes it sooo much easier for yourself in the vinter when you are trying to burn it.... And yeah... One last thing. When you think you have enough... Get some more. Its amazing how much wood you burn through. Even more so if you live in an old house, not so well insulated. My house is build in the 1920s. So... Its not perfect. (as a guesstimate I'd say I burn about 15 to 20m3 each year. If you use m3/cubic meter in the States. Its like 1meter x 1meter x 1meter = 1m3.. But I guess you dont use meter, either... So Just Google it. 😁😁👌👏

Never squat or knell at the base/trunk of any tree when it's falling, even in very small trees without a proper "undercut" in the direction of the fall a tree can do what's called "Barberchair" and the trunk of the tree will split vertically and come back and hit you in the face. And even trees that small can break jaws, knock out teeth, and in extreme cases you could get killed, just do some research on the term "Barberchair" and falling trees. Great video 👍

MN is having a super mild winter this year so it makes sense to stay until real winter and real cold actually hits. So probably January is when she’ll leave bc that’s when it gets to -25+
Hey Hannah, here is a tip to keep you warmer at night using your wood stove. We heat solely with our wood stove also. We live out in the rural countryside in Ontario Canada. We have a regular wood pile with split wood then we have a pile with unsplit logs but cut the size to fit inside the stove. At night we put those large logs into the wood stove. They burn slower and keep the fire burning longer. Thus you have more heat at night when you are sleeping. Also shift your damper to the smallest opening. This will let less air in causing the wood to burn slower .
Hey Neighbour! I'm in northern Ontario, and just moved into our family cottage to live here full time. I've been winterizing and renovating for a year now. I have the two sizes of wood too, but did not know about closing the damper. So thanks for the tip!!! Stay safe, and take care...😊❤🇨🇦
Hannah: I’m crying Me: crying Crazy to love someone you’ve never met, you’re seriously inspiring and such a beautiful woman! You remind me what this world really means to be kind and gentle and the small things are the most important things.
Tell you, Hannah: That is gonna happen in real life, too. People will always watch you when stacking firewood. My neighbour and me have been experiencing this thru many years. Each and every time these 20 qubic metres of wood had been dumped in the driveway, people from across the street would just look, or would have occasional work to do in their yards glimpsing over, come along for a chat, or even with a plate full of bread rolls, hot sausages, or/and a crate of beer in the evening when all was cleared up again... Stacking firewood seems to be a labour somewhat archaic, almost mythic :-)
Hey, darling.... I'm a 66 yr old widow who was used to my husband doing all the hard physical work. As I also live in the forest, I too make a bumbling idiot out of the tasks I try to accomplish. I guarantee you at your age you look much more graceful at it than I do at 66!!! lol so, you go girl, getting it done is all that matters. Be proud, as you've already accomplished a lot since you purchased your cabin(s) in the woods. 👏👏👏💖💖💖 👍👍👍 OK, everytime I see you walk up your, so called, stairs to your loft bedroom my heart skips a beat. PLEASE, build a railing on the open side. I know your young and agile. However, on a bad morning you might just hit the stair on the wrong angle and go flying off them. I'd hate to see you get hurt.
Its really nice to watch a youtuber you follow that actually reads the comments and takes the time to tell their subs they appreciate it. Thank you Hannah. God bless you.
I'm glad you're staying. Van life/travel vlogs are a dime a dozen. Girl living in a cabin in the woods with an outside toilet who has impeccable taste and endless talent is much more interesting IMO.
I love you Hanna...from the bottom of my 80 year old heart. Yes, I would like to see a video all about your life and how you got to where you are now. I binge watched your videos when I found you about six months ago. You have SO many talents.
I have one of these fans, they really work at pushing heat round the room They get really hot, paint and plastic would just melt off. Highly recommend these little fans.
Hannah, you have inspired me, I am 61 and have always wanted to be self sufficient. I raised 4 children, and now their all grown up. I love your bravery, and how easy going you are, especially when confronted with problems. You're rolling with it with such grace. Not having a man around telling you HOW TO DO IT RIGHT...YOURE DOING IT.!! It makes me feel like ICAN2!! THANKS!!
Omg I wanna live in the woods with my boyfriend so baaad, but here in my country there's no actually places we could do this. Also I have to convince he, because he said we could talk about this in FIFTEEN YEARS???!!! I can't wait so looong 😭😭😭 My biggest dream is to live in a place like this and enjoy and be more conected with nature and really feel like I'm in the right place. I hope I can realize my dream soon. Btw I started watch your channel today and can't stop it, I'm in love with your life, your house and your energy 💕 (Sorry for any mistake, english it's not my maternal language)
I live in a remote village in Bali with my family. And I bet you that I have seen people do what Hannah do like cutting woods, dress like the 50ish uncle, etc. But it is still interesting to see her living her live boldly alone. Hannah is so inspiring me....
I would recommend, to put some tarps over your wood to keep them from the snow/elements. So you don't have to dry your wood out. Either put up a tarp/wall or just drape tarps over the wood. Doing a wonderful job :)
Just remember not without, enormous strife, challenges, discomfort and pain....nothing comes easy, it just looks that way from her video's. Through pain we build strength. Hannah is a world of inspiration for the entire planet. "Just Do It" belongs to her! I'm just sayin'. Peace, Russ
12 seconds in, I see wood being poured out of a big truck. Me: "frick yeah we're staying the winter bois" Lol might be wrong, but still thought it was funny
Tip: when cutting down a tree, make a wedge shape cut on the side you want the tree to fall on, then cut through from the other side. That way you'll get a clean break when it falls.
there's just something about seeing someone live the life i dream of and be so transparent about it that makes me feel like life is worth living and it is worth it to dream and have fun and be thankful for every day, thank you for putting yourself out there ❤
I’m so glad you said that about talking to yourself even when the camera isn’t on.... any time I’m working on a project (or anytime really), I talk to myself SO MUCH! And I dance and sing too 🥰
I'm old and my health isn't too great and it's taken me many years to know and believe in myself the way you do at such a young age. You are so real and honest.. that's what caught my eye. I appreciate the channels that are scripted and artsy but there is a missing trust factor in their authenticity. So you go, sweetie!! I just wish I could go back to my 20's and know then what I know now. I think my life would be similar to yours. All my best to you. :-)
You took the words right out of my mouth !! We are in the same arena ! Older, health issues and wishing we had do overs ! But... I've downsized to a small 2 bedroom cottage and I'm finding joy in simpler things and spending time with family when they are not rushing about. Just 4 of us.
I would be doing a lot more but a 4th back surgery put me in a wheelchair plus covid surely hasn't helped!! But I'm getting more adventurous. As soon as this scourge is history, I want to see what must be conquered in order to camp. Hope remains!! :-)
I do that for some channels - especially the Animal Rescue ones because I can't donate cash as much as I'd like but watching ads or putting in a few minutes of time I can totally do.
I've just been reading the comments. They make me smile. I was really happy to see the wood dumped too. Hannah, you just keep being you. That's all your viewers want. P.S. Might want to back into your driveway in the winter, and arrange ahead of time, to have the local person who plows driveways to come do yours after a snowfall.
Hannah! Your channel has been such a blessing. I’ve been battling a depression episode for the past two months and today I came across your RUclips channel. Watching your videos and taking a break from my worries brought me a sense of relief from the stress, anxiety and sadness I’ve been feeling. I love your channel and you are a reminder of how gorgeous all the small things in life are if I just remember to be mindful and open my eyes. Thank you for being you and sharing your life with us!
I am one of the thousands that has been incredibly encouraged by you. I have been paralyzed by the uncertainty of what I want to do next in life and watching someone I can relate to tackle huge projects has been an inspiration to just take steps toward progress and not worry so much about which steps were wrong. I got a little teary at the end and wanted to express my gratitude too :)
You definitely have inspired me to just be happy with myself and being alone. My fiance passed away of cancer back in 2013. I literally was planning my own suicide. I still had a daughter to raise though and I have four kids all together.. three were adults and my youngest was only about 10 years old at that time.. so I snapped the hell out of it ,but that doesn't mean I wasn't depressed ,because I still am to this day. I'm just trying not to be selfish in wanting to Snuff my life out as I wanted to back then. Fast forward to the now. I reconnected with an old boyfriend from 1995. I think he has a very good Heart but he is a narcissist ,has turned into one... Anyway since the last time I saw him. I painted a pretty picture of him thinking that he loved me as much as I did him but it's all a lie. I'm trying to move forward and just try to be happy by myself and you are inspiring me to quit being a jerk and wallowing in self-pity because I'm sick of doing that. I'm sick of being put on the back burner with this guy I'm with right now. It's ridiculous and I've been even more depressed probably since I've met up with him back in 2016. So sorry this is so long but I'm trying to get my mojo back as in just being happy again. This big beautiful planet we live on is something to go explore and I need to quit being so sad all the time because it is eating me up and I feel like it's just being selfish I guess, I don't know... I walk around the house talking to myself a lot but I do have a huge 120 lb Great Pyrenees dog and three cats that are my buddies right now, lol! Life is wonderful to have. my fiance that passed away wanted to live so badly, and did not want to leave me and it was the most horrific thing I have ever gone through in my life. I thought a miracle would happen and he would live. But it didn't. and yes I am going to get back into my happy place again and watching your videos and your projects has made me so happy and gives me hope. thank you so very much again Hannah and I'm so sorry this is so long.....❤️
Hello sister friend! I am 57, mom of 3, going through a divorce, and a lifetime of crap. I have recently been in a very similar place as you. I’ve had to work really, really hard to survive. I’ve been surrounded by narcissists all of my life. It gets into your head, into your heart. First, my friend, you must find a therapist- wherever, however- there are community places for free or cheap. You need a helping hand. This is really heavy stuff, and no one can sort their way through it alone! No shame in that! That’s just how we are made- to need each other. Seek it out. Please. You deserve to give yourself everything you need to recover, so you can move on. It won’t happen just willing yourself through it, it’s not a matter of selfishness, or self control, or any of that junk. You’re a human being who is hurting and you need a bit of a lift from another human being. 💝 And then you can get on with the business of reinventing yourself for the 2nd act! And while it is scary, I am finding that it is so, so fun! There was nothing left to look forward to in my life, but now I am discovering a whole new me. I am finding that I can dare to do things I would never have thought I could! It has been a hard struggle and a scary one. But, you know as well as I do, there is nothing scarier or harder than where we have been. It’s time to let go of the pain and embrace the future. I believe in you. You can do this! Please talk to a therapist! It really does help! I wish you strength, peace, and happiness!
First of all, serious, life threatening suicide is something you may not be able to "snap out of". I encourage you to call a suicide hotline and they may be able to give you resources for mental health help. There is no shame in that. If you are not doing the best in your mental health, it will be very hard to mother anyone properly, though you will try. The LAST thing you should do is start ANY relationship because you need to grieve and worry about you and your children. It will be very hard to follow this advice because you want comfort at this saddened time of your life. Because of that, you may be susceptible to emotional predators and not realize it. Not to sound preachy, but call the mental health hotline or speak to a pastor, priest, minister, find a good large church that also may have resources for you if you don't have monetary resources to find a good therapist. Be well. Prayers for you.
I love your energy, your creativity, but most of all the emotions you're not afraid to show. You crying brought tears to my eyes. You're about the age of my daughter and as a dad I just wanted to hug and comfort you. You're a special person because you work hard for what you want and you appreciate the little things. Blessings to you. 💖💗💟

Hannah. I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again. YOU ARE HILARIOUS! I don't know if you try to be or not, but the things you do and say sometimes, bring genuine laughter. I love it. Plus, your strong will and drive to do these rugged chores says an awful lot about you. I'm sure plenty of others are thinking the same thing.
The more videos I see of you the more I can't shake the thought of how underrated your channel is. You deserve millions of followers, although I doubt you care about the count. And you 100% are an inspiration to me to be more open to life and to not to just dream but to do things, just to try, no regrets. I am a bit like that but you're on completely different level :D
Just a tip for putting your duvet in your duvet cover is to turn your cover inside out and lay it out then lay your duvet on top. Then start rolling it from the top (without the zipper/buttons/ties) all the way to the bottom (with the zipper/buttons/ties). From there you grab the end of the roll from inside the duvet cover and flip it so it is back to the outside pattern. Do on the other side and roll out. Zip your zipper/button your buttons/ tie your ties and you're done. Hope this helps!

Me, a procrastinating stressed out bio student reading this comment and feeling very called out: hey! :O
So technically you didn’t lie. Things just changed after the fact :)
Me: *sees wooden logs* Shes staying in her cabin for the winter huh?
sameee
ya and she should she is happy and I feel she is safer at the cabin than van life...
Yeehaa you go girl. Theres content for ya.🥰
MN is having a super mild winter this year so it makes sense to stay until real winter and real cold actually hits. So probably January is when she’ll leave bc that’s when it gets to -25+
I think winter in cabin is so mesmerizing....
(Provided that u r gonna be warm)
Hey Hannah, here is a tip to keep you warmer at night using your wood stove. We heat solely with our wood stove also. We live out in the rural countryside in Ontario Canada. We have a regular wood pile with split wood then we have a pile with unsplit logs but cut the size to fit inside the stove. At night we put those large logs into the wood stove. They burn slower and keep the fire burning longer. Thus you have more heat at night when you are sleeping. Also shift your damper to the smallest opening. This will let less air in causing the wood to burn slower .
Yup....here in New Hampshire we call those logs " All-Nighters "
Such a nice tip! Thank you (my future self is gonna live like Hannah does)! 🙌
Hannah: I’m crying
Me: crying
Crazy to love someone you’ve never met, you’re seriously inspiring and such a beautiful woman! You remind me what this world really means to be kind and gentle and the small things are the most important things.
"I can't believe anyone is watching me stack wood.. you guys ok??" no Hannah I'm not ok but your videos give me life so thank u for that
i heavily relate bro
Tell you, Hannah: That is gonna happen in real life, too. People will always watch you when stacking firewood.
My neighbour and me have been experiencing this thru many years. Each and every time these 20 qubic metres of wood had been dumped in the driveway, people from across the street would just look, or would have occasional work to do in their yards glimpsing over, come along for a chat, or even with a plate full of bread rolls, hot sausages, or/and a crate of beer in the evening when all was cleared up again... Stacking firewood seems to be a labour somewhat archaic, almost mythic :-)
😅😍🤗
Hey Hannah hope you get to smile today.
@@kendrapayne7598 aw thank you!! I hope you have a good day!!
OK, everytime I see you walk up your, so called, stairs to your loft bedroom my heart skips a beat.
God bless you.
me: watches first 3 seconds
Me again: "SHES STAYINGGGGGGG FOR THE WINTERRRRRRR"
ME TOO!!!!!!
Lol me too
Yes...same
I'm glad you're staying. Van life/travel vlogs are a dime a dozen. Girl living in a cabin in the woods with an outside toilet who has impeccable taste and endless talent is much more interesting IMO.
Never mind a brutal winter.
Agreed
I love watching her live in a van. But her living in the woods in the most aesthetic cabin is just magical.
Hanna can we please have a life story video? I really want to know all the fun and chaotic thing you've done in your life
I love you Hanna...from the bottom of my 80 year old heart. Yes, I would like to see a video all about your life and how you got to where you are now. I binge watched your videos when I found you about six months ago. You have SO many talents.
I died when she typed "I can't believe anybody is watching me stack logs, are you guys ok?" 😂😂😂 Idk it's just satisfying
I love watching her videos. I don’t care what is going on in them. Hannah is awesome
@@descrazielyfe4446 Same!!
Haha same!!
Hannah, you are keeping us all sane during this strange and horrible time, with your positive attitude and sense of fun.
Hannah, referring to new stove fan: "It has such personality." Put googly eyes on it!
they’d have to be heat proof! that thing is mighty hot i bet.
@@RobbieSchroederComedy Ha, yes. It would probably be a horrific sight if they melted.
Maybe Hannah could paint them on ! 🥰
THANKS!!
*sees the firewood delivery* YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Omg I wanna live in the woods with my boyfriend so baaad, but here in my country there's no actually places we could do this. Also I have to convince he, because he said we could talk about this in FIFTEEN YEARS???!!! I can't wait so looong 😭😭😭 My biggest dream is to live in a place like this and enjoy and be more conected with nature and really feel like I'm in the right place. I hope I can realize my dream soon.
Btw I started watch your channel today and can't stop it, I'm in love with your life, your house and your energy 💕
(Sorry for any mistake, english it's not my maternal language)
The way my face lit up when I realized there’s going to be more cabin videos
Don't judge us for watching you stack wood 😂 We're living out our cottagecore dreams vicariously through you.
I live in a remote village in Bali with my family. And I bet you that I have seen people do what Hannah do like cutting woods, dress like the 50ish uncle, etc. But it is still interesting to see her living her live boldly alone. Hannah is so inspiring me....
Is no one gonna talk about how absolute pure and beatufiul that ending was? I loved it!!
tip: be careful about bringing pests into your house with wood from outside (looking out for you plant babies)
"labour intensive" was the phrase you were looking for :)
lol literally everyone knows what she lied about once they see the wood!
I would recommend, to put some tarps over your wood to keep them from the snow/elements. So you don't have to dry your wood out. Either put up a tarp/wall or just drape tarps over the wood. Doing a wonderful job :)
She always does an amazing job. I’m so glad I found her channel
I was thinking the same thing!
You are a fierce woman. I can only imagine how proud your parents are of you. Congratulations on living your dream. Keep it up👏
She’s living the life I hope I can have when I’m older. I’m so jealous
Depending on a few things, it's within most peoples reach. I hope you follow your hopes and get what you want.
Never be jealous, be inspired! Jealously tends to make you miserable.
Me: "frick yeah we're staying the winter bois"
Lol might be wrong, but still thought it was funny
pretty much what I thought too seeing all that wood being delivered!
Can we talk about her amazing music choices in each video tho😂
Brother: What are you watching?
Me: Someone Stacking wood.
Brother: Why?
Me: It is entertaining
Bother: You are crazy.
I absolutely love your content.
Love the accidental “bother” at the end, super fitting for brothers😂🤣
"I am an adult, I can eat when I want", next shot, morning light streaming in, waking up cozy in bed with teddy bear. lol.
Adults need psychological security even more than children. What do you think wine & body pillows are all about. *grin*
@@crashk6 So true! I love my body pillow! She is really so cute about it, it made me me giggle.
yeah, she is super self-aware in edit. :)
I excited screamed "yes she's staying!!!!!" As soon as I saw the wood drop 😂😂😂
Yep, same here!
Tip: when cutting down a tree, make a wedge shape cut on the side you want the tree to fall on, then cut through from the other side. That way you'll get a clean break when it falls.
And it's less likely to snap up and knock you out!!
Also cut your trunk as close to the ground as possible so you don’t trip on a trunk when it’s dark and your running outside to pee.lol.
Hannah get tarpaulins to cover your stack of wood outside to protect from getting wet from rain and snow. Thanks for sharing your life with us ❤️
Straight up thought you were an alcoholic but I just ignored it because I enjoy your videos lol the water bottle thing makes sense though 😂
that's the most beautiful dinner setting I have ever seen! it's like having a party and expecting fairies to come
*nil se'n la starts playing in the background*
there's just something about seeing someone live the life i dream of and be so transparent about it that makes me feel like life is worth living and it is worth it to dream and have fun and be thankful for every day, thank you for putting yourself out there ❤
ouh that was ON POINT. i'm not quite there yet.. meaning, i would not dare to do it myself. but maybe hannah's videos can give me the courage
✝️🙏🏻💜bless you!
We all love Hannah ... if you can, consider letting all the ads run to help her get some U Tube income. She's the only one I do that with!
If you have prime you never see ads for anyone’s videos.
Verily!
@@tjadventures9163 And that sucks. Especially for the Animal Rescue channels that use the money to save wildlife and domestic animals..
I do that for some channels - especially the Animal Rescue ones because I can't donate cash as much as I'd like but watching ads or putting in a few minutes of time I can totally do.
Agreed 100 percent...just do it
I've just been reading the comments. They make me smile. I was really happy to see the wood dumped too. Hannah, you just keep being you. That's all your viewers want.
P.S. Might want to back into your driveway in the winter, and arrange ahead of time, to have the local person who plows driveways to come do yours after a snowfall.
I'm not crying...you're crying. Okay, now I lied to you. Definitely crying. You have a sweet heart...
She is an adorable young woman. I luv her heart
When She started crying i was like “why am i crying” 😪
Same! I started crying not long after she did!
I almost cried too. had it lasted a little bit longer, i would have.
Yes. Same
🥺
But it didn't.
and yes I am going to get back into my happy place again and watching your videos and your projects has made me so happy and gives me hope.
thank you so very much again Hannah and I'm so sorry this is so long.....❤️
Yass girl. You do you. That's why we're here on this planet. Huge hug to you. I know it will get better for you soon!
I hope you can find happiness with yourself and by yourself! Get rid of the toxic baggage! Best wishes to you!
@@vagabondjane3547 You got this. Your life is just beginning and you have a lot to give.

She is definitely doing it big and should be at 2million strong. We will get her there
Just a tip for putting your duvet in your duvet cover is to turn your cover inside out and lay it out then lay your duvet on top.
You should install a thick/heavy ‘draft’ curtain on your door so that when you open it heat doesn’t escape and you can pass through easily!
heavy curtains all around will keep the heat in at night
That is an excellent idea!
