favorite dark signer was honestly carly, because i found her story with jack really interesting and well done up until they decided to scrap all their development lmao. it was really nice to see the side of jack that she brought out, and the dichotomy between how she normally was and as a dark signer was so good :') plus we got to know her before she had died, so when it happened it felt a bit more emotional? like i wanted to see her redeemed more so then anyone else, minus maybe kiryuu.
I wish they would create a Yugi oh anime just for characters we didn’t get to see their full stories. Ive always wanted to see a joey wheeler anime and how he climbs up to the hughest ranks ending the series with a joey vs yugi final.
Kalin was the coolest looking dark signer. And damn characters that go to the dark side in this franchise are incredible! From original, gx and 5d’s. And so on. And their dark evil gods. Imagine if we got monsters based on the Cthulhu mythos?
Still, the funniest part about the dark signers is the 8th nazca line that was supposed to be anime exclusive got confirmed as an actual line a few years later
One of my favorite arcs in the 5D's anime. I still sometimes replay this arc in the DS game the 2010 World Championship. Carly and her Earthbound is my favorite

The Dark Signers were so fucking cool and this was still one of the best arcs of all YGO animes. I still imagine how cool it would be if one of the good guys/signers became a dark signer. I need something like that again.
The reason why Carly wanted Jack to win was because she loved him It also shows that Love is stronger than darkness as she literally went against the Dark Signers just for Jack, even though Jack wanted it to be a draw as he to loves Carly
Dark signers for me was the closest to perfect story telling from yugioh i could get personally. Every single character got shine and the end was quite great. Even with knowing crow took aki spot as third the story still went off great and i feel it had the best cast in terms of usefulness

I always hated Crow because he stole spotlight from Aki. She's such a great character and her dueling style is really fun to watch. I was actually really happy when he broke his hand somewhere before WGRP. I generally don't enjoy Joey Wheeler like characters (expect Joey Wheeler because he was actually pulled off pretty well). And yes 5D's and Dark Signers arc are the best. Also 3,4,5 seasons are great too.

Looking back on regular joey his rise to getting better each time was great but still a bit lacking but he was first so its ok. Yeah crow took a lot from aki as her story was taken with black wings being so loved plus carly's va isses to stop any cult story they had planned. But even with that aki is still my favorite female lead in yugioh plus black rose dragon has a special place.in my heart being my first synchro and having stardust red dragon and black wing dragon myself. Aki still had a good journey and story but sucks it wasn't her dueling more aside that stardust and black rose dragon summon scene. That was great to see. I just wish they didn't cut her slayer fight after dark signers. Great to see her learn to duel on a mortorcycle as I don't know why people liked that blonde duel rider girl so much. She did nothing for the plot or story and made things worse but glad aki beat her by the end. Also they had planned for that special fuse of stardust and black rose but got canceled as well. So yeah I wish she had more.on her story but still went great even by the end as.my favorite couple with yusie Espeially how every one teases them about it.
That was the orginal plan . Devack was suppose to be a cult leader before becoming a dark signer but after all the issues with one of the voice actresses believed to be in a cult plus the popularity of black wings. 5D was changed for better or for worse.

Still ship Jack and Carly after this arc. Still should've had somewhat of focus in the following season. They're the second best 5DS couple next to Yusei and Akiza. Lucky bastards Yusei and Jack they are. XD
Carlys va was involved in a cult so her story time same with aki got cut down which made her regress back into fan girl Carly and cut aki having a mini arc to beat slayer who just got arrested after season 2. Yeah, I am aware of the controversy with Carly's voice actress and how she was part of a BDSM cult in Japan (weather she was a member or victim I don't know). It's sad really. I do sometimes think If the controversy never happened, Carly might still have a relatively important supporting role in season 2 and Konami kept their original plans with Iliaster. However, we wouldn't have gotten great villains such as Z-one and Aporia. Still, Akiza, Carly and Misty=Best 5DS waifus (especially Akiza).

You know, i was pretty annoyed when Carly stopped being a character after this arc. She could have been a great character instead of a love interest for Jack. She could have formed a team with Aki and Misty, two characters that lost their edge after this arc. Carly deck was pretty interesting and i kind of wanted to see a light version of her deck, her Fairies evolving or her just keeping her Dark Signer deck, like Kiryu with Infernity
I still wish Crow would have ended up being a dark signer, but darn blackwings just had to sell heaps XD It would have given Leo life stream way earlier, which would have made his development way better paced, instead of just being the same until the final arc. Great vid!
Oh yeah.. It would have changed SO MUCH. Aki probably shows up in A5 instead of Crow. Like that one decision had such a ripple effect on the franchise! Thank you!

You know, no matter how many times I hear about the things that the dub censored or got rid makes me sad and makes me want them to redo the dub. I would love to see it finished to the end and actually include everything that was taken out. I love the dark signer arc just because of how dark it is. Between Yusei having to fight his old friend and Jack having to face the only person he started to care about, It’s just feels awesome. Also Carly is my favorite dark signer. Her and Jack’s duel was just so intriguing. To see her struggle between the light and the dark was so sad.
If you ask me, I think the Jack vs Carly duel was a little more personal than the Yusei vs Kiryu duel because Jack and Carly had feelings for each other.
I never watched this show and know nothing about it. But I randomly watched the episode where that reporter gets thrown out and always thought it was very interesting and finally probably a little around a decade later I looked it up
Dark Signers Arc one of the if not best arcs on the entire Yu-Gi-Oh series in general and I really loved the Earthbound Immortal archtype and to thinked about it that at first Crow is gonna be a Dark Signer but then BW is popular at that time sooo keeped him on the side of the good guys but I mean can you imagine that Crow as a Dark Signer man that would be so cool and edgy

Awesome video, this arc is definitely one of my favorites in Yugioh! I think I'd actually choose the same for my favorites with Kiryu and Wiraqocha Rasca :D Misty's Earthbound Immortal is pretty cool too though, and funfact: He's actually the only Earthbound Immortal that has seen some sort of competitive play haha
Always loved Kalin, not just for his design but how he was characterized was amazing. I enjoyed how he shifted from someone who wanted to rule his home and have everything to someone who had nothing and was ready to accept death. Which later his outlook changed again to become someone who wanted to give everything to those who had nothing (Mainly the kids. I forgot their names).
This was cool & it makes me want to re watch 5Ds both dub & sub because one of my favorite lines when both signers & dark signers meet Kalen says "Are you scared Yusei" & Yusei replies with "Yea I'm scared. Scared of what I'm going to do to you Kalin, you & your dark signers are going down" or I think its something like that
@@YugiohEverything I agree that's one of my favorite dub lines of 5Ds ever a close second is when Rex & Joey are having their rematch in the oricalchos arc & when Joey brings out Gearfread the Sword Master Rex says "You wasted that whole story to bring him out he's worthless wheeler" & when Joey shows Rex the Claw of Hermos he says "Oh, that on the other hand might help you" . My mom & I always laughed when Rex said that so on her birthday which is October 6th I'm going to have a marathon from the original Yu-Gi-Oh all the way to Arc 5 in her memory

Great video! There's no confirmed information on Devak, but there were rumors floating around over the years that he originated from a village that worshiped the Earthbound Immortals and was sacrificed to them to become a Dark Signer. Those were just rumors, but they'd certainly be in line with his character. My favorite Dark Signer is a tie between Kiryu and Roman though I like all of them quite a bit. My favorite Dark Signer deck is Carly's because Fortune Ladies are really fun to play. In a similar vain, my favorite Earthbound Immortal is Aslla Piscu.
I miss a Yugioh series where they focus hero team vs villain team just like ranger vs psycho ranger and now we have Yugioh series where only protagonist can win all villain.
I'm just sad with how carly's character ended up like she did after all this. Yeah, I get the whole 'va was part of a cult' happened but damn. Makes me wonder if Akiza would've had a bigger role to since arcadia was basically a cult too. Aki and carly could've been stand outs in Yugiohs bad writing female characters.
Misty is my favorite Dark Signer, her Backstory is absolutely the best reason for a Villain to take in Darkness into their Heart And she was possibly one of the most beautiful female Antagonist we may ever get in Yu-Gi-Oh Say for Aki during her time as the Black Rose Witch
My favorite wld have 2 be misty. I did a presentations on nazaka lines on my 🏫 and when i meant 5Ds the auidence was shocked. I always thought it was so cool 4 this show was inspired by.
I forgot which 1 it was but in 1 of the videogames Kiryu is shown becoming the 4th Dark Signer, meaning Misty was probably the 3rd Dark Signer as Demak is widely believed to be the 2nd Dark Signer.
Devack story is elaborated in Yugioh Tag Force 6 and despite not being canon is our only source of info about him: It's explained by him in his story that Devack was descendant from a pagan cult that worshipped the Earthbound Immortals but they were chased and hunted down to borderline extinction and that made them vengeful souls and soon Devack would learn this story and feeling that he had to accomplish this he guided by the souls of his ancestors made the decision to become a Dark Signer

Not to menton that Misty susced in her goal, getttng her revenge on the peson who killed Toby. Sayer was the culprit and Misty killed sayer until he was revived.
The dark signers arc is actually very good almost perfect and it’s understandable to be everyone’s favorite because 5d’s afterwards felt like a different anime (still the best yugioh ever)
Yo the dark signer arc had me more excited to watch Yu-gi-oh 5Ds even more. This is how the light vs dark battle is suppose to be. The antagonist have specific motivations and flesh out backstories while maintaining an air of mystery through Devack. Not to mention the Earthbound Immortal have so the most simplistic and coolest design. They also provide problems outside of dueling for the signers specifically Yusei, Akiza and Jack.
I'll admit my Favorite Dark Signer would have to be Carly, she looks really good in her Dark Signer outfit and I loved the Duality of her time as one. While her Earthbound God was controlling or influencing her, she was scarily cruel and sadistic. Yet, when she is herself, she's frightened of what she has become and doesn't want innocents to be hurt, and even overpowered the Earthbound Immortal's control temporarily to throw the duel so Jack would win. So the one who she loved and wanted to support with all her heart would LIVE and save the world. To become the King she truly believed in him to be when no one else did. How can anyone not like her in that arc? Carly truly shined during that time as she risked it all for the one she loved.
My favorite dark signer has to be Carly. You know Jack had her save that outfit for “special occasions”. My second is Kalin. He is insane! He reminds me of Jerome Valeska from Gotham

Two little details that I always liked was that Rex had the mark of the condor on his shirt, and that in the second opening when you see zero reverse happen you see the mark of the spider in moment or ener d. Also thought I'd point out the crimson devil arc later on in 5ds where there was a secret more powerful earthbound immortal crimson devil and Jack had to stop it's revival I absolutely loved that arc, even though it makes me wonder what is more powerful, the king of the netherworld or the crimson devil, which sounds like a counterpart to the crimson dragon.
Yes! It was the spider mark that was pretty much responsible for Zero Reverse, so that was always a nice little touch! If I was doing a video more focused on the earthbound immortals, I certainly would have discussed that! Who knows, maybe that is a video for my future! :)
I know about Kalin and Carly cuz of Duel Links where they actually have dialogue from the show. Kinda emotional. This video makes me wanna watch 5D's. I'm intrigued. I will have 6 months of now YGO so... Why the hell not? I'll watch 5D's finally.

You know, i was pretty annoyed when Carly stopped being a character after this arc. She could have been a great character instead of a love interest for Jack. She could have formed a team with Aki and Misty, two characters that lost their edge after this arc. Carly deck was pretty interesting and i kind of wanted to see a light version of her deck, her Fairies evolving or her just keeping her Dark Signer deck, like Kiryu with Infernity

You know, no matter how many times I hear about the things that the dub censored or got rid makes me sad and makes me want them to redo the dub. I would love to see it finished to the end and actually include everything that was taken out.
I love the dark signer arc just because of how dark it is. Between Yusei having to fight his old friend and Jack having to face the only person he started to care about, It’s just feels awesome.
Also Carly is my favorite dark signer. Her and Jack’s duel was just so intriguing. To see her struggle between the light and the dark was so sad.

If you ask me, I think the Jack vs Carly duel was a little more personal than the Yusei vs Kiryu duel because Jack and Carly had feelings for each other.
Seth I totally agree. The only problem with that is that it didn’t go anywhere after she came back. There whole story just thrown out in season 2.

I never watched this show and know nothing about it. But I randomly watched the episode where that reporter gets thrown out and always thought it was very interesting and finally probably a little around a decade later I looked it up
Dark Signers Arc one of the if not best arcs on the entire Yu-Gi-Oh series in general and I really loved the Earthbound Immortal archtype and to thinked about it that at first Crow is gonna be a Dark Signer but then BW is popular at that time sooo keeped him on the side of the good guys but I mean can you imagine that Crow as a Dark Signer man that would be so cool and edgy
My favorite Dark Signer is Kalin because I have history with Kalin from YU-GI-OH 5D'S Reverse Of Arcadia

Awesome video, this arc is definitely one of my favorites in Yugioh! I think I'd actually choose the same for my favorites with Kiryu and Wiraqocha Rasca :D
Misty's Earthbound Immortal is pretty cool too though, and funfact: He's actually the only Earthbound Immortal that has seen some sort of competitive play haha
Always loved Kalin, not just for his design but how he was characterized was amazing.
I enjoyed how he shifted from someone who wanted to rule his home and have everything to someone who had nothing and was ready to accept death. Which later his outlook changed again to become someone who wanted to give everything to those who had nothing (Mainly the kids. I forgot their names).
Yeah to me he was just a bit deeper than the other D signers, mainly because of treatment after that arc!
This was cool & it makes me want to re watch 5Ds both dub & sub because one of my favorite lines when both signers & dark signers meet Kalen says "Are you scared Yusei" & Yusei replies with "Yea I'm scared. Scared of what I'm going to do to you Kalin, you & your dark signers are going down" or I think its something like that

@@YugiohEverything I agree that's one of my favorite dub lines of 5Ds ever a close second is when Rex & Joey are having their rematch in the oricalchos arc & when Joey brings out Gearfread the Sword Master Rex says "You wasted that whole story to bring him out he's worthless wheeler" & when Joey shows Rex the Claw of Hermos he says "Oh, that on the other hand might help you" . My mom & I always laughed when Rex said that so on her birthday which is October 6th I'm going to have a marathon from the original Yu-Gi-Oh all the way to Arc 5 in her memory

There's no confirmed information on Devak, but there were rumors floating around over the years that he originated from a village that worshiped the Earthbound Immortals and was sacrificed to them to become a Dark Signer. Those were just rumors, but they'd certainly be in line with his character.
My favorite Dark Signer is a tie between Kiryu and Roman though I like all of them quite a bit.
My favorite Dark Signer deck is Carly's because Fortune Ladies are really fun to play. In a similar vain, my favorite Earthbound Immortal is Aslla Piscu.
I miss a Yugioh series where they focus hero team vs villain team just like ranger vs psycho ranger and now we have Yugioh series where only protagonist can win all villain.
I'm just sad with how carly's character ended up like she did after all this. Yeah, I get the whole 'va was part of a cult' happened but damn. Makes me wonder if Akiza would've had a bigger role to since arcadia was basically a cult too. Aki and carly could've been stand outs in Yugiohs bad writing female characters.

I forgot which 1 it was but in 1 of the videogames Kiryu is shown becoming the 4th Dark Signer, meaning Misty was probably the 3rd Dark Signer as Demak is widely believed to be the 2nd Dark Signer.
Kalin/Kiryū is my favorite dark signer. His theme man is too good. Cisullu is my favorite earthbound immortal.

the dark signer arc is by far my favorite arc along with zexal II
Devack story is elaborated in Yugioh Tag Force 6 and despite not being canon is our only source of info about him: It's explained by him in his story that Devack was descendant from a pagan cult that worshipped the Earthbound Immortals but they were chased and hunted down to borderline extinction and that made them vengeful souls and soon Devack would learn this story and feeling that he had to accomplish this he guided by the souls of his ancestors made the decision to become a Dark Signer

The dark signers arc is actually very good almost perfect and it’s understandable to be everyone’s favorite because 5d’s afterwards felt like a different anime (still the best yugioh ever)
Kiryu I just think he had the best character arc out of all the dark signers I mean after the dark signers he straight up went into a depression

Yo the dark signer arc had me more excited to watch Yu-gi-oh 5Ds even more. This is how the light vs dark battle is suppose to be. The antagonist have specific motivations and flesh out backstories while maintaining an air of mystery through Devack. Not to mention the Earthbound Immortal have so the most simplistic and coolest design. They also provide problems outside of dueling for the signers specifically Yusei, Akiza and Jack.
I'll admit my Favorite Dark Signer would have to be Carly, she looks really good in her Dark Signer outfit and I loved the Duality of her time as one. While her Earthbound God was controlling or influencing her, she was scarily cruel and sadistic. Yet, when she is herself, she's frightened of what she has become and doesn't want innocents to be hurt, and even overpowered the Earthbound Immortal's control temporarily to throw the duel so Jack would win.
So the one who she loved and wanted to support with all her heart would LIVE and save the world. To become the King she truly believed in him to be when no one else did. How can anyone not like her in that arc? Carly truly shined during that time as she risked it all for the one she loved.
My favorite dark signer has to be Carly. You know Jack had her save that outfit for “special occasions”. My second is Kalin. He is insane! He reminds me of Jerome Valeska from Gotham

Two little details that I always liked was that Rex had the mark of the condor on his shirt, and that in the second opening when you see zero reverse happen you see the mark of the spider in moment or ener d.
Also thought I'd point out the crimson devil arc later on in 5ds where there was a secret more powerful earthbound immortal crimson devil and Jack had to stop it's revival I absolutely loved that arc, even though it makes me wonder what is more powerful, the king of the netherworld or the crimson devil, which sounds like a counterpart to the crimson dragon.
Yes! It was the spider mark that was pretty much responsible for Zero Reverse, so that was always a nice little touch!
