Yes, I completely agree with you. It's always better to be safe than sorry! I'm definitely planning on preparing before the election to stock up at least on beans, rice, beef jerky and water. I was a hurricane Sandy evacuee and I bought a hand crank radio from Walmart for $20 and it was the best thing during that time became I had no electricity. Also, my dad left me his old wool army blankets - they are priceless! They were a life saver after hurricane Sandy for me. Most important of all, we need to always pray and lean on God for help!!
I do remember Hurricane Sandy.. She was no joke, what a destructive storm that was.. Yes, its a good idea to stock up on some food and some basic household items.. The everyday things we take for granted may not be available or easy to obtain for a while.. Prayer is definitely important..
I learnt that as a kid very early on in life back when I was in England, always have canned goods around. You never know when your situation is going to change. Right here in New York about 25 years ago I got ghosted on an apartment that I was supposed to move into, and I ended up having to live in my car for a couple of weeks. It's like a Swiss army knife. I'm not saying you have to carry it around with you, but it is always good to have one in case of emergency. I also have a prediction, in a few months things are going to get very ugly (probably not in New York), but I think that it is going to get shut down very quickly. The reason that I think it will be shut down is because one party will want to move on and get back to what they once were.

I don't really have a dog in the fight either way.. But I think the divide in this country will continue to grow no matter who gets in office.. People get so emotional over politics today.. It's crazy!!!
