A big ole Thank you to David for sending you those, and a similar big ole thank you to you guys for the videos. I really enjoy how you manage to take the subject of your studies seriously while at the same time not really yourselves so much. That is what most of the internet is sorely missing. Cheers, fellas.
Excellent! Thanks taofledermaus channel. I understand shotguns much better since I started watching your channel. I appreciate the education you are providing us.
That slug would certainly leave a place for a scab! I have been amazed at how many of the commercially made slug/tail-fin combinations have failed to stay together. At some time it would be nice if you could recommend one that you have found to be the most reliable. Well done again Jeff and OG!!
TAOFLEDERMAUS i cannot find a roll crimp to go in drill only handcrank what brand is yours? Your channel is my favorite btw always excited to see the taofledermaus notification!!!!!
That Weatherby is damned accurate. I must admit that I did not know that the wadding was for stability. I thought that its main job was to prevent leading or flame cutting going past the piece of lead. Thank you for the lesson.
this was great and who knew that greg had a home range... how better was it and why only now did he suggest to let you in on his very own home privet range to do this one... looks like would help you in some better range test unless he don't want to see too many holes in his walls
Probably not, they probably just use a hard lead alloy with these. I was expecting the first shot into the magazines to just go 3/4 of the way through them and hoped to recover it so we could see how it deformed... but things don't always go as planned.
As always, easy to listen to, and very educational. My favorite gun in the world (and especially, my gun safe) is my 20 ga. O/U Rizzini. I love the way it handles and swings. I would really like to see some 20 ga. slug testing. I know, I know... the 12 is the king. but 5/8 oz at 1700 FPS is nothing to sneeze at.
If the shells were not roll crimped, assuming the shot stayed in the shell before shooting, would the shot fly faster as it doesnt have to get past the crimp?
Thanks David! I appreciate your patience with us getting around to shooting your slugs. I just have those blue "thug slug" type slugs you sent left to shoot!
You should test the 3.5 inch light field IDS slug. They claim 4700ftlbs of muzzle energy and the only 3.5 inch slug. I know their 3inch kicks like a mule, I can't imagine how much he 3.5 would kick. I would even buy them for you and have them delivered just OG get his shoulder roughed up lol.
Nymeria Gloves I shot the 3in out of a super nova, and it felt like a piece of artillery. Those are a claimed 3850 ft lbs muzzle energy. A full 900ftlbs more with the same 1 and 3/8th oz slug would definitely be noticeable lol.
I've mentioned on other RUclips videos, but the 3.5" IDS out of my Mossberg 535 is a beast of a load. . I've only shot 2 shells, my sons shot the remaining 3 out of the box. I won't repeat either my language or theirs after shooting but believe me when I say that it wasn't "Golly, gee willickers, that was a stout load !". We have one box of 5 remaining that we'll save for the zombie apocalypse. My 535 has wood furniture. There's no way I'd fire these out of a lighter, plastic stock.
As a person who is employed to deliver magazines i can assure you there are still quite alot made, but not many being sold. on the other hand i am very jealous that you get to blast these darn things to oblivion, after sorting out between 5 - 10 tonne of magazines twice a week you start wanting to shoot them all xD
I wonder how similar the Uppercut is to the KO that Brenneke sells in the US. I’ve had very good results using them for deer with both smooth and rifled barrels.
Thanks Jeff and OG for all the great content! Question for you guys, why do you think this round was so much more devastating than a traditional Foster's slug when matched up against the magazines? Keep up the great videos!
Hey Jeff, love your videos! I've noticed on a few of your videos with slugs from overseas you have the wadding separate from the slug when it's not supposed to. Do you think it may have something to do with the shipping process? Maybe the lead cools at altitude and shrinks enough that it squeezes down on the wadding, compressing it, then when you get it out in the warm Cali weather, the lead expands back out and loosens up on the wadding?
Cool slugs. Accurate. Maybe they wouldn't have separated it they hadn't been pulled from their shells. Oh! Congratulate OG on his promotion. I don't know how else y'all got to use that range😉
A bottom muzzle cup like and AK for stability with a half top and side groove vents for stability during the impact of the semi stationary gas matrix it is impacting harshly.. it might ease the transition , both of the slug and the air/ether/fluid and thermic gas fluid stability and transition of the ballistic mass entering it
If wadding is only separating in flight but round remains accurate is the fancy wadding overkill? Is it even needed? You should test some without that particular wadding sometime.
Could they be coming apart from where they had been taken apart to be reloaded, I mean I don't think the manufacturer intended for them to be take apart.
I love how there is ‘no shotgun’ painted on the range and you guys did it anyway. 👍👍👍
I absolutely love the sarcasm and sense of humour in these videos. Keep these coming! I'll keep coming back to watch.
awesome! thanks for the nice words!
And welcome to OG's garden!! No lawn to mow, just a bit of shot to sweep up! (and some wet magazine pieces)
Paul Roberts, everyone should have a yard like that.
A big ole Thank you to David for sending you those, and a similar big ole thank you to you guys for the videos. I really enjoy how you manage to take the subject of your studies seriously while at the same time not really yourselves so much. That is what most of the internet is sorely missing. Cheers, fellas.
thanks for watching !
thanks for the kind words Anders!
Love seeing how these turn out! Another great video!
Thanks for showing us that nice shooting range guys, this is pretty cool to see.
SLEDGE HAMMER! Another beautiful video. Super nice range there Officer Greg!
Buffalo's Outdoors, thanks man! Would rather have 4 miles of lawn like your range!
Yay, OG is in the video. Always good to see OG shooting slugs at stuff. *:-)*
Dsdcain, thanks man!
Its rare when a gun channel says magazines and means the thing you read
haha true
+TAOFLEDERMAUS You should start calling them soaking wet clips medium
I appreciate the videos and responses you give to your fans. Keep it up jeff and OG
Thanks Greg!
It's no fun if you get ignored!
Thanks again for another great video Jeff and "OG"!! Still by far the best guys on RUclips!!!
Dewey
You're too kind Dewey!
you don't have to LIE to get us to reply to you! lol
Another bloody great vid. Thanks again lads. Great work and keep it up, Jim.
Good to hear. I just got 3 boxes of them to see how they work in my old Win pump
Nice and Thanks.... learned so much about shotguns.....!!!
Gualandi 32gr is the best and most accurate slug out of a smooth bore with about double or even more penetration than a foster slug
Awesome video Jeff!
It's going to be a helluva day when you hit 1 million subscribers. Aren't too far off now guys
this video was the best.very well explained.thank u.
Ahhh good timing. Thx for the video needed to unwind.
thanks!
I love the change of the NO to YES
What a way to start the mornin! Thanks taofledgermaus / Jeff, Officer Greg you always make me laugh! And David from france of cource!
thank you for the nice words, Joe!
Shade cover!!! I'm jealous. LOL 🇺🇸😎
Yeah, it is amazing what a little shade does!
Danny AKA Triker Red, we paid extra to block out the sun. Make him treat you right!!!
TAOFLEDERMAUS i cannot find a roll crimp to go in drill only handcrank what brand is yours? Your channel is my favorite btw always excited to see the taofledermaus notification!!!!!
Danny AKA Triker Red - hair cover should be ur concern. also fuck u officer greg.
TAOFLEDERMAUS - said officer gregs feet.
Well done guys :)
Thank you!!!
Lol didn't see the video and just heard the song at the beginning and I thought I clicked on the Hydraulic Press channel. Nice :).
"YES SHOTGUN" lol. Good stuff, enjoy your shotgun tests.
thanks Mario!
0:55 I love how all the warnings ended with, "don't smoke these"
FINALLY MORE BRENNEKE!
That Weatherby is damned accurate. I must admit that I did not know that the wadding was for stability. I thought that its main job was to prevent leading or flame cutting going past the piece of lead. Thank you for the lesson.
Obrigado pelo vídeo!
Saudações do Brazil
That range looks awesome!
Might I mention that something from the shot at 5:40 had an affect on the left silhouette target in the background?
I think that was just a gust of wind.
TAOFLEDERMAUS I'm not so sure. The other target is not affected.
I liked how the slugged showed a difference between hard and wet targets
;)
When magazines are completely phased out, you'll have to start taping websites together.
true!
B_Rud ..He will just have to put a bunch computers, tablets and cell phones back to back..lol
Plenty of bad romance novels out there. I am not about burning any book, but shooting some? Sure.
@@lazykid2470 That nut over at Demoliton Ranch already does such things.
Need to do more on that range, looks really good.
Yeah, it's nice. Close to my house, has shade and is 50 yards.
TAOFLEDERMAUS, .... and forbids shotguns. 😬😬😬
are they technically shot guns? cos they're firing slugs :D
Great vid guys
thanks Duncan!
He said "if you were shooting these in real life".... and what are you guys in, a simulation?? Haha love the vids guys!
I like the "No shotgun" on the Burm/backstop
lol
Love these videos, keep up the good work
this was great and who knew that greg had a home range... how better was it and why only now did he suggest to let you in on his very own home privet range to do this one... looks like would help you in some better range test unless he don't want to see too many holes in his walls
Always like your videos thanks
thanks Peter!
Love your channel! ❤️
Hi What's the difference between calibre 12 mm cartridge slug brenneke copper gold and vs slug brenneke normal calibre 12 mm ?
"No Shotgun" you're such a rebel!
I got a lot of old magazines I've had since my teenage years, they're already wet even! you can have 'em.
How did i find it this fast
ninja like skills
TAOFLEDERMAUS great video
I made plydough slugs . They scare me
How dare they discharge a shotgun in a "no shotgun" zone
Ruben Santiago, there is no such thing on TFM.
Ruben Santiago he is with a cop, he is above the law. Og is the law.
They were french slugs so it would make it a "fusil à pompe" so they were in the clear.
So, wait, OG is Judge Dredd?
Ruben Santiago well if you aren't shooting shot it ceases to be a shotgun?
Do you suppose the penetration is due to the epoxy coating preventing lead deformation?
Probably not, they probably just use a hard lead alloy with these. I was expecting the first shot into the magazines to just go 3/4 of the way through them and hoped to recover it so we could see how it deformed... but things don't always go as planned.
What difference do you think it would make if the magazines were dry?
Can you guys fire a cork screw (The metal curly bit, not the whole thing)!!?? Will it fit, will it spin or flip uncontrollably?
Really like this setting on the range tbh.
Officer Gregg, it would be an honor to have you write me a speeding ticket.
Thanks Tyler. I'll mention that to the people today that DO get a ticket!
Always wondered how the roll crimp was done , now i know .. thank you ... and why cant i see the "NO SHOTGUN" sign ?
Is there a limit apart from physical size in the shell to how much powder is loaded? Could you of used say 100 grains?
Yeah there are limitis, but I have seen some some loads using as much as 60 gr. of Longshot which gets a 1 oz slug up to 2150 fps.
great shooting.
Great slug
As always, easy to listen to, and very educational.
My favorite gun in the world (and especially, my gun safe) is my 20 ga. O/U Rizzini.
I love the way it handles and swings. I would really like to see some 20 ga. slug testing.
I know, I know... the 12 is the king. but 5/8 oz at 1700 FPS is nothing to sneeze at.
Great video like always!
Is it possible to over-roll (or under-roll) a crimp, and if so, could that hurt a slug's accuracy?
"Mechanical rollcrimper" Here i was thinking you used tour teeth...
Another great one, guys!
it sounds pretty good at least!
It does. 👍
If the shells were not roll crimped, assuming the shot stayed in the shell before shooting, would the shot fly faster as it doesnt have to get past the crimp?
I love your channel
thanks!
hi, thank you guys !, fob is a nobel sport company brand, sacrebleu !, very precise, that's why i shoot'em on boars
Thanks David! I appreciate your patience with us getting around to shooting your slugs. I just have those blue "thug slug" type slugs you sent left to shoot!
What is the hottest 12 gauge foster load available? My 3" winchester super X have about 50 grains of powder, 1 oz slug at 1760 fps,
Ate threw the magazines like Rosie odonnel at an all you can eat buffet
Lol there ya go!
*through
Great channel interezting and entertaining
thanks John!
Such a great channel. Please bring back TTT!
I was going to comment on the "NO SHOTGUN" signs in the background, but then it suddenly said "YES" so I guess all is ok :)
MrDugbo171, of course. The "NO" was computer generated. Shouldn't have been there.
OG Thanks man. I been in the ER sick as a dog all day. This video just help make my day just that much beater!! Thanks sir. God Bless
MrDugbo171 - officer greg changed it. with his lyin ass. hes the eddie guerro of shotguns.
Awesome shooting thumbs yup
Dunno about OG's range I kinda liked the vinyard/dirt road paddock. So awesome to see a variety of slugs on the market there
The shade was pretty nice. Beats standing directly in the sun on a 100 deg day!
You'll just have to time your videos for each Solar Eclipse.
TAOFLEDERMAUS pfft that's 6am in straya. Fair call tho
Officer Gregg you mean you guys will have to lol. Next solar eclipse for me won't be at my location till 2037 I think
Geez, that could be a serious health hazzard from a light weight shotgun
Nymeria Gloves
I shot the 3in out of a super nova, and it felt like a piece of artillery. Those are a claimed 3850 ft lbs muzzle energy. A full 900ftlbs more with the same 1 and 3/8th oz slug would definitely be noticeable lol.
Weak fragmenting crap.
2:30 Is that a C-130? Sounds like it.
Very cool!
thanks!
also that is a very clean crater in the lead normally it makes a oval shape
Y is there no heat or hollow charge shotgun shells?
Thanks Jeff and OG for all the great content! Question for you guys, why do you think this round was so much more devastating than a traditional Foster's slug when matched up against the magazines? Keep up the great videos!
Are you shooting out of a choked barrel? Possibly the choke is stripping the wadding from the the slug.
offend in every way Greg lol
great vid guys
Glen
I'll do my best Glen
that side by side of the 25/40 grains loads is telling
Yeah, I"m glad I didn't adjust the cameras between those two shots!
I wonder how these would perform in ballistics gel.
Hellow,do you soothing the breneeke opal Magnum?43g
Hey Jeff, love your videos! I've noticed on a few of your videos with slugs from overseas you have the wadding separate from the slug when it's not supposed to. Do you think it may have something to do with the shipping process? Maybe the lead cools at altitude and shrinks enough that it squeezes down on the wadding, compressing it, then when you get it out in the warm Cali weather, the lead expands back out and loosens up on the wadding?
whats with the no shotgun sign in the backround? also, this place is alot more fancy than your usual range.
You guys at Rankin? Certainly looks like it.
why taofledermaus don't made a video with brenneke original slug ?
3:52 I like how it says "NO SHOTGUN" on the blue backstop lol.
Cool slugs. Accurate. Maybe they wouldn't have separated it they hadn't been pulled from their shells. Oh! Congratulate OG on his promotion. I don't know how else y'all got to use that range😉
Holy crap I would never guess David was French by looking at him.
You two must be fun at parties.
ah yes the stereotypical american stereotype hate. what a loser. worms like you are whats holding this world back.
lol ok wtf are you talking about...
SickClown Gotta remind you, without us (french) there would probably be no USA
IronNipp
We returned the favor though so we are even.
Greg seemed more tame at his work range. I like untamed Officer Greg.
Need to avoid triggering people so my videos stop getting flagged
TAOFLEDERMAUS I don't think that's going to make much of a difference
Zach, it was like 175° out there and I'd been on my feet all day. Took the untamed right outta me.
Everyone gets offended by the simplest crap these days.
can't take a dump these days without offending someone. Screw em.
#MakeOGgreatAgain
Little do they know the police range is a very stressful place when you're teaching a bunch of new recruits, so cut OG some slack.
Not sure how they'd work at 50 yards without a wad. But these did seem to work more like Foster slugs when they didn't have the wadding
Thumb up and comment prior to viewing of video.
I wonder if this is a sign of expectation?
Damn I love this channel!
thanks!!
Could they be coming apart from where they had been taken apart to be reloaded, I mean I don't think the manufacturer intended for them to be take apart.
We didn't yank the slugs from the waddings or anything. The bond holding them together wasn't messed with in other words.
That might help lots of your standard and ruffled bore round issues.
What made you guys decide to use a range instead of just shooting outside like your previous videos?
Gregg was doing some training out there and invited me out to film.
_Thumbs up !_ 😎
thanks Horst!
Officer Greg! Howdy. Be safe. :-)
Elizabeth A Mizdail
Thanks Lizzy!
